//-------------------------------------------------------// Of Pandemics And Ponies -by Lucario247- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Hotel Hell //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Hotel Hell Chapter 1: Hotel Hell Twilight opened her eyes and stared at the blue sky. There were some gray clouds off to her right. Wait...those aren't clouds, that's smoke! She sat up and looked around. Her friends were lying on the roof of a building of sorts. It was definitely not a pony building. Twilight got up and went to her friends and woke them up. "Hubba wuh?" said a groggy Rainbow Dash, "Where are we?" Twilight looked around. They were on the roof of a tall building. The edges were surrounded by barbed wire fences. There was smoke coming from the side of the building. There was also smoke in the distance. "I don't know Rainbow. Let's just get out of here." Twilight saw there was a door that led to a stair well. She entered and went down the stairs. Rarity followed her. There was random junk closing up the other stairs, it looked like someone put it there. Fortunately there was another door to the side. She opened the door and paused in shock. On the other side of the door were...things. They walked on two legs and had long gangly arms with fingers. Some of them turned their heads to look at Twilight. Most of them had blood stained on their clothes or dripping from their faces. Some of them began charging at the door. Twilight slammed the door, but one of them made it in and ran after Rarity. She shrieked and ran towards the roof but the thing tackled her to the floor. It raised it's hand to strike Rarity, but was interrupted by a powerful buck from Applejack. The force of the kick sent the creature sailing over the barbed wire fence. It smashed into the ground and slipped over the edge of the building. "What in tarnation was that?" said Applejack Everypony, especially Rarity, was stunned. There was still pounding on the door from the other things. "That was a human." said Twilight, "I've read about them. They are creatures that exist in a society much like ours. However they are unaware of our knowledge of them." "That's really interesting in all Twilight, but what was that thing that attacked Rarity!" said Rainbow Dash impatiently. "That was a human, but it looked...odd. Like it was sick. There are more in the hallway." "That's our only way outta here." said Applejack sadly. "I guess that means we'll just have to beat 'em to the ground!" said Rainbow. "I guess." said Twilight. She looked over and saw a table with various objects on it. There were...guns, some metal rod things, some axes, and several red rectangles. Rainbow Dash walked over and asked, "What are those?" pointing at the red rectangles. Fluttershy jumped up and said, "Those are health kits!" Rainbow Dash had lost interest and was looking at a sniper rifle, "Oh man, this is going to be awesome!" ================================================================================================== After dispersing the gear through the six of them, with the help of Twilight, they were ready to brave the hordes of the infected humans. Rainbow Dash had taken the sniper rifle and decided to fly around in the open areas and snipe. Fluttershy was given the health kits to hold and use when needed. Twilight and Rarity were using their magic to hold onto two other guns. Pinkie Pie was looking at the pipe bombs she had been given to hold, "Oh...fireworks!" Applejack was holding onto the crowbars and had the axes slung onto her back. "Alright, are y'all ready?" she asked standing by the door. They all nodded and prepared their weapons. Applejack stood back and then bucked the door off it's hinges. There were a bunch of Infected scattered around the hall. When they heard the noise of the crashing door, they began to swarm the six ponies. Applejack began swinging the crowbars at the hordes while Rarity and Twilight blasted the others. Rainbow Dash was shooting over Rarity's shoulder, hitting the far away ones. Still they continued to swarm, an unthinkable amount of the infec-ah what the hay-zombies were on the floor. Pinkie noticed the chance and hurled a pipe bomb down the hall towards the rushing horde. Not only did the pipe bomb stop them, but also others were attracted to it. The beeping of the bomb increased as more zombies swarmed it. Then, in a giant boom, the zombies exploded, random body parts flying around in arches of red color. Fluttershy closed her eyes and covered her ears. Pinkie let out an entertained "Ooh". "Looks like the cost is clear y'all." said Applejack They continued down the hall. Aside from a few stragglers, they were met with no opposition. Twilight noticed some metal doors and said, "Those are elevators, but it looks like they're broken, so we'll have to find another way down." There was another hallway perpendicular to the first. They were heading towards the door at the other end when suddenly a bunch of burning ceiling came crashing to the floor. There was a storage area that led to a ledge outside that could take them to the other side. There were some Infected on the ledge, but Applejack pummeled them with her crowbar. She was surprised about how easily their appendages gave way when struck. They where about to continue when the six heard muffled but close laughter, more maniacal than jolly. Before Applejack could ask, "What was that?" something jumped onto her back. It was laughing crazily as it began leaning the orange workhorse towards the ledge. She lost her footing and only managed to grasp the edge of the walkway. The thing slid off her back and laughed as it fell and hit the roof below. Applejack was about to slip off the ledge but was grabbed by her friends and hauled back up onto the ledge. "Thanks a bunch guys." said the mare, tipping her hat before resetting it and bringing up her guard again. They continued down numerous hallways and another balcony, when they reached a working elevator. "Awesome!" said the gutsy pegasus. They all climbed into the cube and Twilight hit the floor button. The doors slid shut and the elevator began it's decent to the ground floor. The six stood and said nothing. Each of them had at least two blood spatters on their bodies. The elevator began filling with smoke. Fluttershy began coughing. The elevator stopped moving and a bell rang from above them. "I guess we have to pry the doors open." said Twilight. She used her magic to make the metal doors slide open. The room was a giant inferno. There was a intimidating roar from the distance. On the ground was a jar filled with a green sludgy liquid. Pinkie quickly grabbed it as the first Infected started to swarm the ponies. Most of them stupidly caught on fire. The few that actually made it through the blaze unscathed were blown to bits from the blasts of the ponies' guns. Applejack led her friends through the building, only staying on a path that had no fire. It was an odd feeling but Applejack thought that it seemed like the place had been designed for someone to run through. She vowed that if this hunch was true, that she'd kick the teeth out of the twisted person that did this to them. At the end of the fire maze, a lobby sat. There was a red metal door at the end of the room. The ponies trotted towards the door, but were interrupted by some soft growling. They passed it off and continued to the door. There was a side hall that was blocked with rubble. There was a loud shriek and a dark blur sailed through the air, towards the group. The blur hit Twilight and caused Rarity and Pinkie to fall over because of their proximity with Twilight and the blur. Applejack could now clearly see what the blur was. The infected person had a dark hoodie on. The clothing around the hands and feet had been ripped and were covered in blood spattered tape. It pinned Twilight to the ground, using it's body weight to hold her down while keeping it's arms free. Then it started slashing Twilight. She screamed. Probably from the pain. Maybe from the surprise. She flailed her forelegs to try to block the slashes, but to little avail. Then suddenly the zombie was rolling on the ground next to Twilight, dead. Applejack let out a snort as she set the blood spattered crowbar on the ground. "Y'all right sugarcube?" she offered a hoof to her friend. "Yeah, just a little stunned is all." They nodded and then continued towards the room. They all entered and Fluttershy swung the door shut. Then they began to pile furniture to block the way they came in. The lack of furniture on the other wall revealed another red door with a bar holding it tight that led to the next area. "You've gotta be kidding me!" said Rainbow Dash. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Ellis + Ponyville = Bronygasm //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Ellis + Ponyville = Bronygasm Chapter 2: Ellis + Ponyville = Bronygasm "Holy shit guys! Ponyville!!!" said Ellis with obvious excitement. He had been jumping around like that since the little...dragon, had offered the Survivors a tour of this so called Ponyville. Rochelle was only glad that there (hopefully) weren't any zombies around. When the survivors arrived in the small library, they were surprised of the physique of the "residents" of this world. "Ponies!" shouted Ellis as he ran around the market place full of colorful horses. "Uh...yeah we have a lot of those around." said the confused dragon next to Rochelle. He was still digesting the fact that his world had been made into a show for little girls on Earth. Rochelle would only guess that Ellis was a brony. He was always going around saying that things were "20% cooler" and thinking it was funny. She unfortunately knew about MLP because her coworkers at the news-station used to always talk about it. Fortunately, now that they were zombies, they would speak of it no more. Now that she thought about it, Coach had laughed once or twice when Ellis cracked an MLP meme joke. The dragon had explained how the survivors had arrived when his friends disappeared. Ellis looked sad when he realized who they were. Spike continued to explain the origin of their appearance. Then he offered the tour. Ellis instantly accepted, and Coach was pretty fast to respond. Rochelle only agreed so she could get a look at this world. Nick was reluctant. When they left the library and headed to the market Ellis shared the extent of his bronyness to his buddies. When they entered the market place, the survivors were swarmed by curious ponies. Ellis had a fun time brohoofing all of them. While this commotion was going on, Ellis remembered something. He snuck away from the crowd and looked around. He spotted who he was looking for and crept over. The two ponies were sitting at a table arguing about something. Ellis approached the mint green unicorn and tapped her on the shoulder. "Not now!" she said, "Anyways Bon-Bon, I'm telling you that I saw a real human! Just in the forest! It had arms, and fingers. Fingers to...poke you with." She turned and looked at Ellis, realizing that he wasn't a pony. She looked at him for a moment, and then fell over on the ground. She sat there and blinked at Ellis. And then a crazy grin filled her face as she jumped into the air. "See! I told you Bon-Bon! Humans do exist!" she said as she bounced up and down, attracting a crowd. Everyone was laughing at the excitement of Lyra Heartstrings, but above the commotion, Rochelle caught the low rumble of a familiar growl. Acting on instinct, Rochelle pulled out her side pistol, just as the warning scream came. The dark grey blur was arching straight towards Lyra. Rochelle aimed with precision and pulled the trigger. Every pony-oh god I've caught on-was still reacting to the gunshot when the dead figure smashed into the ground from the momentum. "Woah! A Hunter!" said Coach Everypony stared at the body in shock and horror as it began to bleed out onto the ground. "What the hell is a Hunter doing in Ponyville?" said Nick Before anyone could answer, Spike burped up a green fireball. The fireball disappeared and was replaced by an old yellow paper. "It's a letter from the Princess!" said the dragon, who was still recovering from the burp. He cleared his throat as he began reading. Lyra was reading over his shoulder. Citizens of Ponyville, There is a great emergency spreading through Equestria. Hordes of infected creatures are appearing through the area. Immediately barricade yourselves in your homes and prepare weapons. Do not interact with infected persona. Wait for official instruction. Your Princess "There's a bloody HAND print on the paper." said Lyra Rochelle was still chuckling about the similarity of the letter with the one from Savannah when a great roar filled the distance. Nick reacted before her and shouted, "Everyone! Get to your houses! Now!" When everypony looked at him strangely he repeated,"Everypony! Get to your houses! Now!" They all nodded and rushed off as the first few grunts and screams began. "Go to the appartment Bon-Bon! I need to help these humans!" said Lyra "No way! You'll get yourself killed!" "I'll be fine. Now go!" She looked at the unicorn with concern, and then ran off. "We gotta get our guns from the library." said Coach as he ran to the tree library. As they approached, the first few infected began rounding the corner. The four pulled out their pistols and opened fire. The zombies fell to the ground as the four humans, pony and dragon ran past them. Nick opened the door and motioned for everyone to get in. Rochelle was about to go in when a zed suddenly lunged at her from no where. Rochelle watched as the infected human sailed towards her, jaw open, ready to bite down on her neck. Then in a blur of green the zombie was smashed into the wall, smearing blood on the side as it slumped to the ground. Rochelle looked at her savior. "Are you alright?" said the unicorn as she used her magic to help Rochelle up. "Uh, yeah I think so..." she said. She was saved by a horse. "Maybe this brony thing isn't so bad after all." she thought as the door closed behind her and Lyra. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Sobs, Spit, and Smashing //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Sobs, Spit, and Smashing Chapter 3: Sobs, Spit, and Smashing The door swung open and Rarity followed Twilight into the dark shopping mall. She blew the head off of a woman that was trying to eat her brains and continued trotting along the path. She was walking up the broken escalator when she saw it, her inspiration. She ran up to it and squealed. "Red stilettos!? How do humans manage these? I must have them!" she ranted. She was about to enter the store when Applejack stopped her. "Cmon sugarcube, we need to head out." "But I must have those shoes!" "The shoes are probably the least important thing here, now let's go." Rarity swore to herself that if-no not if-when she got back to Ponyville, she'd make those stilettos for ponies. They continued on with only one outburst of opposition. There was a hallway that had a door that has fallen over. Rarity went through first. She had made it a few feet in her group when there was a shriek. A green glob flew and landed in the center of the group. It exploded and a green bubbling liquid spread beneath them. It burned. Pinkie Pie was at the back and stepped off of the acid. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash flew up. Twilight teleported out of the way as Applejack did a tremendous back flip and landed next to Pinkie. Rarity was stuck. The cramped hallway limited her means of escape. She screamed as the bottoms of her hooves seared with pain. She tried lifting her hooves off of the ground, but lost her balance and fell into the goop, causing worse pain on her side. She was silently awaiting unconsciousness or death or something but was interrupted by a magical pop and a loud bang. Rarity opened her tear streaked eyes and saw a body lying in another puddle of spit. Apparently Rainbow had shot it while Twilight teleported her. "Are you alright Rarity?" asked a meek Pegasus, "Do you want me to heal you?" "No no dear. I'm quite fine." she replied as she shakily got up. Although she wasn't fine, the pain was definitely ebbing away. They continued through the maze of hallways. Her friends tried to cheer her up by showing her the random mannequins around the place, but Rarity brushed them off. She just wanted to leave this place. They were approaching a room when they heard quiet sobs. They entered the room. It was a daycare center with big windows on the other side of the room. The crying was emanating from a lone girl on the ground. She was wearing very little clothing and had long hair. She had a strange red aura around her, but Rarity passed it off as light from an EXIT sign. Applejack slowly approached the girl. "Hey there. Y'all right?" The girl began growling in response. Applejack began backing away and the growling slowly ebbed. But suddenly Pinkie Pie was there in the face of the girl. "Are you alright? Are you not sick? Wanna have a party? What do you think is better: vanilla or choc-" She was interrupted when the girl screamed and revealed the long razor sharp fingers, stained with blood. The girl charged Pinkie, who was frozen in shock. The girl slashed at Pinkie, but Applejack pushed her out of the way, taking the swipe. The workhorse slammed into the ground as the girl continued slashing her. Rarity heard a swish behind her and felt a gun being ripped from her magical grip. Fluttershy was inbetween the girl and Applejack with the shotgun against the girls head. The trigger was pulled and the girls face was no more, the crown of her head completely missing. There was a horrible shriek as the body of the girl fell to the ground. Applejack was wincing on the ground. Pinkie ran to her side. "Omigosh! Are you alright AJ?!" said the pink party pony, tears filling her eyes. "Ah'm fine..." she said as she tried to get up. She grunted and fell to the ground. The gashes were staining her fur a deep crimson red. Fluttershy approached and expertly bandaged Applejack's side. With much grunting, wincing, and cursing under her breath, Applejack was completely bandaged. "Ah dunno how it's possible, but ah feel perfectly fine now!" said the workhorse. "That doesn't matter now." said Twilight, "What does matter is getting out of here." There was no other way out of the room except for the giant windows. "Looks like we have to go around and find another way." said Rarity, who was secretly hoping they would pass the stilettos again. Before anypony could suggest anything else, the glass shattered and a gutsy Pegasus hovered on the other side, motioning for the others to follow. They stepped over the broken glass still in the pane when the alarm started and the roar sounded out. Everypony ran towards the walkway. Pinkie kicked a glass railing, which shattered, and hurled a bile bomb over the edge. They continued galloping towards the stairwell when the first few infected went after the delicious pukey sludge. of course that wouldn't last long. They ran for a few more seconds when they began hearing them behind them. Apparently the bile had worn off. Others began to swarm in front of them. The weapons made to easy to clear the way. They reached a room that had the alarm controls in it. Rainbow Dash pulled the lever and the wailing stopped. However, hordes of zombies ere still following them. The six ponies ran down the hallway and ended up in another escalator area. Behind them were sounds of mindless monsters, running over each other in their desperate attempt to taste pony flesh. Rainbow Dash flew up high and began to snipe. Everypony else clambered up the escalator. The safe room was just on the other side. Rarity ran with all her energy towards the welcomingly open door. She entered and motioned for everyone else to enter. 1,2,3,4...Where's Rainbow Dash? Rarity ran outside the room and caught sight of the cyan Pegasus. She was still sniping the zombies. The wave of infected people was on the escalators now. "Rainbow Dash! Get in here!" shouted Rarity "Hang on just a sec! Just need two more headshots!" she replied. They were running along the balcony now. "NOW!!!" She flew towards the door. She flew so fast she left a childish rainbow in her wake. It didn't seem fitting for the situation. The zombies were 20 feet from the door now. Rainbow was almost there. 15. She was through the door, so fast she slammed into a shelf on the wall. 10. Rarity began pulling the heavy door shut with her magic. 5. Rarity took a quick peek. They were inches away, their fingers were outstretched, waiting to clasp onto her. She slammed the door shut. She heard an entourage of thumps as zombies slammed into the now closed door. Rarity let out a sigh as she turned around to reprimand Rainbow Dash. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Charger, Redefined //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Charger, Redefined Chapter 4: Charger, Redefined Nick was disappointed that this place had zombies too. After making it to the library and collecting their weapons, The Survivors were about to head out to defend the ponies when Spike threw up another fiery note. "It's another note from the Princess." said Spike. Ellis made a face that said, "You don't Say?" Spike unrolled the parchment and read, "Spike, Please bring our bipedal allies to Canterlot. Their assistance is required. Make haste, I'm running out of paper and fires to send them with. Be careful, P. C." "Looks like we'll have to take the train." said Lyra "Then let's head out." said Nick They opened the door and quietly made their way to the train station. There was some minor resistance, consisting of a Smoker, 2 Spitters, and 247 common infected. When they reached the station they heard screaming and pounding. Nick ran inside and saw several zombies pounding on the door. He blasted them and opened the door. Inside was a grey Pegasus with crossed eyes and a purple unicorn filly. "Can you make it to the library on your own?" asked Nick "I think so..." replied the golden eyed Pegasus "Then go. Be quiet and hurry." The Pegasus took the unicorn and hurried off towards the library. Nick was walking out of the building when Ellis suddenly hugged him. "Man...You just saved Derpy!" he sniffled after saying this. "Ellis! Gettoff!" said Nick, shoving his hillbilly comrade off of him. Ellis wiped his eyes and said, "I love you man..." Nick tried his best to ignore that little comment. "The way to the engine is blocked." said Rochelle, who was marveling at the multicolored train. "Not exactly, look." Spike pointed at the caboose. The door was wide open. They all climbed onto the train. Coach accidentally knocked over a metal tool which loudly clattered to the ground. "Nice going big guy." said Nick with as much sarcasm as possible. "Sorry..." Rochelle closed the door and shoved the tool into the locking system, jamming the door. "There." They continued through the cars, one by one until they saw a figure emerge down the hall. It wasn't a zombie, fortunately. It was definitely a pony. It trotted towards them. It was blue with blue hair and red highlights. As it neared it began running at the group. Then Lyra identified the pony. "Hey it's Colgate! Colgate you're alive! Are you alri-" She was cut off because the unicorn head-butted Coach in the stomach, causing him to make a hilarious "Pweh!" sound. He rolled away as the unicorn ran over to his cringing body. He was wincing and holding his belly. "I bet he feels like his belly button just got raped." thought Nick The unicorn's horn glowed and Coach was surrounded in a pale blue aura. Then he was lifted into the air...and then proceeded to be slammed into the ground. It was then that Nick got a good look of the unicorn. She didn't have any red highlights, that was just blood. Her mouth was dripping with blood. Her horn was slightly chipped. On her shoulder was a bite mark. She continued to slam Coach into the ground. Nick pointed his gun at the infected pony. He was about to fire, but was stopped when Lyra jumped and tackled Colgate. "Colgate! What're you doing?! They're trying to help us!" said the mint green unicorn, who had managed to pin her former friend down. Colgate screamed in response and used her magic to pull Lyra's mane back. Lyra screamed in pain as the infected pony managed to loose a hoof and hit Lyra off of her. Lyra flew and hit the other side of the train car. Colgate charged her and pinned her to the ground. She was about to bite Lyra when Nick pulled the trigger of his shotgun and the unicorn flew off of Lyra. The mint green unicorn went to the side of her former friend, "Colgate..." Tears were streaming down her cheeks. "C'mon. We gotta get moving." said Ellis sadly "No! Colgate!" said Lyra hysterically Ellis grabbed Lyra and picked her up. She was screaming. "NOOOO!!!!!!! COLGATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she shrieked, flailing, trying to break from Ellis' grip. They made it to the engine without any other resistance. Ellis set Lyra down as Rochelle tended to Coach and his *CENSORED* stomach. Nick fiddled with the controls and managed to get the train moving towards Canterlot. Ellis approached him. "Y'know, you saved my two favorite ponies today. Thanks man." And then Ellis hugged Nick again. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Useless things to do in a Zombie Apocalypse //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Useless things to do in a Zombie Apocalypse Chapter 5: Useless things to do in a Zombie Apocalypse As soon as the safe room door was open, Rainbow Dash flew out into the open air. Some zombies looked up at her, but since they couldn't get her they turned their attention to the ponies on the ground. Rainbow Dash smiled as she shot them one by one. This zombie apocalypse wasn't half bad. Her friends climbed the stairs of the small plaza, destroying any zeds that appeared before them. They entered a park of some sorts that had hedges surrounded a central courtyard. The friends walked in. Rainbow saw a strange shape lumbering thought the hedges towards the friends. "Guys, lookou-" But it was too late. The zombie charged throught the group of friends, grabbing onto Pinkie. The charging thing slammed into a bench nearby and then grabbed Pinkie with its one good arm. It lifted her into the air and then slammed her into the ground. However, every time she hit the ground, Pinkie's eyes would bulge to an impossible size and her tongue would shoot out of her mouth, making a party horn sound. The zombie continued to slam her against the now cracking ground. Applejack had recovered from the things charge and grabbed the katana she had. She jumped and aimed at the Chargers head with a giant arch. In a spray of blood that spattered all over Pinkie, the Charger's face was sliced off and the body fell to the ground. Pinkie got up and noticed the red mess on her face. "Ooh! Ketchup!" she said as she licked her face clean with an impossibly long tongue. The rest of her friends had continued walking. "Oh you'd better wait up! Imma gonna ketchup with you!" she had an immense giggle fest, which was interspersed with snorts. She indeed caught up with her friends and continued down the path. After leaving the park, they went through some alleys. Rainbow Dash would snipe the Boomers and Hunters that appeared on the rooftops. She then regrouped with her friends as they entered a building. When they emerged, they were under a bridge. There was a roar as a wave of zombies rushed the group. They sliced through them, trying to get to the area at the end. "It's a safe room up ahead!" shouted Rarity, who was the farthest up. They all rushed inside the pod as Fluttershy closed the door. They heard he moans and pounding of the vile creatures outside. "This isn't a safe room, silly." chided Pinkie Pie "Ok so I was incorrect about that, but look, it stopped them from getting us." Rarity replied defensively "We'll have to go out this door." said Twilight She opened the door and an alarm sounded on top of a tower made of scaffolding. The zombies that were outside the pod began climbing the fence. "Rainbow, go shut off that alarm!" shouted Twilight over the blaring noise. "On it!" Rainbow shouted back She took off in the direction of the tower. She was nearing it when something warm and sticky entangled her in midair, constricting her wings. She fell to the ground and was dragged until she was dangling by the sticky rope, next to the fence. The alarm continued to attract more infected. Rainbow tried to grab her side pistol, but her hoof slipped and the rope began to constrict her throat. At the same time, infected began to encircle her and pound her. She flailed to try to defend herself, but was unable to, as the rope held her hooves in place. So she did the only thing she could do left: she begged. She begged the zombies to stop hurting her. She begged the alarm to stop sounding. She begged the god or almighty whatever in this place to spare her of this horrid pain and death. "STOOOOP! STOOOOOOOOOOP!!! Please...stop...!" She could feel the darkness beginning to coax her into its comfortable and desirable arms. But then a giant amount of zombies disappeared from her view. The rest disappeared as well. Then she felt somepony push her, hard. The force snapped the slick rope, releasing Rainbow Dash from the restraint. She flew up to the tower and deactivated the alarm. Reflecting on her actions, Rainbow Dash thought to herself, "Mercy is probably the most useless thing to have in a zombie apocalypse. It weakens you and gives the enemy pleasure as you plead and die at the same time." She continued on with her friends. When they neared the safe room, Rainbow Dash redid her opinion of the Zombie apocalypse. "This isn't fun and games anymore. This is more than half bad. It's twice as bad. And then it's about 20% badder." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Hellish Tears of Feathery Death //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Hellish Tears of Feathery Death Chapter 6: Hellish Tears of Feathery Death The train emerged from the underpass and chugged its way through the Royal Guard station. Instead of a buff stallion guarding each side of the track, a giant blood spatter sat, glistening with moisture. Coach felt like he was gonna spew chunks. When the outbreak started on Earth, he was somewhat glad because most of the people he knew that became infected were complete scumbags that didn't deserve to live happily. But here in Equestria, it was a completely different story. These ponies (although some were kinda snooty) were perfectly innocent and didn't deserve any kind of exposure to this epidemic. Some of the Horde began to swarm around the train when it pulled into the station. The Survivors quickly fixed that problem when they opened the door to leave the train. After spattering the brains of the zombies, the group rushed into a room in the building so they could plan their course of action. "Alright, so what do we have to do again?" puffed Nick Lyra said, "We've gotta get you four to the Princess! She'll know what to do." She'd definitely recovered from the fact that her friend had been zombified. Nick still looked pretty guilty when Coach looked at him. Lyra was reluctant to leave Colgate's body in the train, but the risk of going back was to high. Everyone nodded at the plan. They took a few moments to recuperate and heal up with some med-kits. After that they quietly opened the door and headed into the city. Rubble littered the streets. Some fires were crackling here and there. Occasionally, some zombies would stumble or sprint out of alleyways. It almost seemed like a waste of ammo to use a shotgun on one single zombie. A muffled scream sounded from one of the alleys, along with infected grunts and shuffling noises. The group turned the corner and saw the source of the uproar. Infected, ponies and humans alike, were pounding on a door. The screams were coming from the other side of the door. The armed survivors ran down the alley and started blasting the horde. Coach resented each bullet that pierced a zombified ponies body. The door had some holes were the infected had smashed through. Peering threw them, Coach saw a small group of ponies in the room. A middle aged colt, an old mare, and two fillies, one male and the other female, were all huddled together in the room. "You guys okay?" said Coach "Y-yes."stammered the colt Rochelle appeared next to Coach, "We're heading to the castle. You should probably follow us." The colt nodded assent and helped the other ponies up. They opened the door and joined the group. Coach realized that they would have to organize themselves so that the civilians would be safe. Agreeing on a formation, the survivors plowed on. The four humans were on the outside, surrounding the civilian ponies in a compass point pattern. In the center of the group, Lyra trotted along with Spike on her back, calming the civilian ponies and making sure they were alright. Coach remembered something. "If we are so clumped up, then we are very vulnerable to a-" he was interrupted from his epiphany when a colorful blur smashed into Rochelle, making her arms flail and smack the small foal. A Pegasus was pinning Rochelle to the ground. It was a male with dark olive colored fur and a black mane. It's face was obscured by its mane. A thin line of blood was dripping from its lips. It's forehooves were completely covered in the crimson liquid. It let out a whiny as it began stomping on Rochelle's face and chest with its forehooves. Ellis raised his AK to shoot the Hunter-like pony but was interrupted as he was charged by a (somewhat) human Charger. Coach turned his attention to the Charger as it began to slam Ellis into the ground. He began firing off the explosive rounds he'd picked up on the train. The Charger lost its grip on the hillbilly survivor as it flew back and skidded on the pavement. It tried to stagger to its feet, but was delayed with the dilemma of a sudden lack of face. Coach turned around and saw that Nick had killed the Hunter pony. He was currently helping Rochelle up. Coach approached the little filly that was fretting over the foal that was knocked unconscious from the pounce of the Hunter. He picked up the foal's body and draped it over the willing colt's back. After a moment of recovery from the attack, the group continued on. The group continued down the road, "Mane St.". They entered an open area that was the center of a food vendor plaza. However, many of the tables and chairs had been overturned. Some had blood on them. Some bodies were scattered around the plaza. In the center of the plaza was a fountain. A small pony trotted out from behind a table and turned to look at the group. It then quickly turned and. Angered towards the fountain. It didn't appear to be infected. The group approached the pony, who was now sitting near the edge of the fountain. "Um, hello? Are you alright?" asked Coach When there was no response, Coach reached out to grasp the ponies shoulder. When his fingers clasped around the equine shoulders, the pony tensed under his touch and pulled away hastily. It turned and revealed that it's neck was swollen with vicious welts and boils. It's eyes glowed with infection as it opened its mouth towards Coach. And then it screamed. Louder than any siren Coach had heard in his life, the noise caused the football coach to fall over and plant his hands over his pounding ears. The infected pony continued screaming as it began to run away. There was a bang and the infected ponies head dissapeared, silencing the high pitched wail. Coach picked himself up and rubbed his temples. The screaming was still ringing in his ears. "What the hell was the point of that?" shouted Ellis As if to answer him, a distant roar reverberated through the alleys and buildings of the city. From the streets, hundreds of infected humans and ponies began to swarm the group. But in the sky, at least twenty Pegasi were descending upon the group. It looked like heaven was raining down hellish tears of feathery death. "Um...guys? I think now is a good time to THROW EVERYTHING!!!" And they did. Ellis and Nick threw a pipebomb in opposite directions, while Rochelle threw a bilebomb into the center of the swarm. Coach took his trusty Molotov, who had gotten him out of a pickle more than once, and hurled it at the swarm. The bottle smashed as the flame began to spread along the ground. The infected at the beginning of the charge instantly caught fire and began running around, unaware of their surroundings. The rest of the infected behind them also ran through the fire. Coach nodded his head in satisfaction and approval. Still a huge number of the ground attack and all of the sky attack were still advancing on them. "Lyra, can you give us a shield?" asked Ellis, who appeared to have had the same thought as Coach. "I-I'll try!" she replied. She was pretty overwhelmed by the number of the attackers. She pointed her horn up and a pale green aura surrounded it. A mint green dome surrounded the group. "Aw yeah!" shouted Ellis, "Can we shoot through this thing?" "I think so..." replied the unicorn, who was under the strain of keeping the magic barrier solid. "Perfect." said Coach as he raised his gun towards the onslaught. The zombies made a funny noise when the ran into the dome. It sounded like when someone walks into a glass pane. But they soon realized that this thing was solid, and it was blocking their meal. So they started pounding on the shield. The survivors opened fire as several of the infected Pegasi slammed onto the top of the dome. It seemed that the barrier didnt stop the blood of the blasted infected from raining down on the group. The pounding from the infected was causing webs of damage to spread across the green shield, making Lyra wince. The old mare saw the pain in the green unicorn's eyes. She walked over to Coach and said into his ear, "Make sure the others get to safety." And with that she ran out of the shield. "Mags! NO!!!" shouted the colt. The old mare continued running away from the sphere. She began shouting as loud as she could, saying, "Hey you bloody ruffians! Come over and take on this ol' granny!". Several infected spotted the old pony and took off after her. A Smoker on a nearby rooftop turned to face the mare and shot out a sticky tongue. It ensnared the mare and began dragging her towards the building. As she struggled to free herself, several Horde began pounding on her. Coach turned away when he saw blood spattering. He noticed that there was an obvious difference in the number of infected surrounding the dome. The old mare's sacrifice had given them some leeway. "Lyra, we need to get these ponies out of here." Coach said, addressing the civilian ponies. The unicorn was staggering to the ground, her face covered in beads of sweat. Spike was attempting to keep her conscious. Still she looked at Coach and nodded. She called the three ponies together and huddled them around her. She then shrunk the shield so that it only surrounded them and moved away from the crowd of zombies. The infected that were stunned by the sudden shape change of the shield, staggered to their feet and glared at the survivors. Ellis then growled, "C'mon you ball eatin' sons of bitches, CHEW ON THIS!!!" He pulled up his AK and unleashed a malestrom of bullets on the Horde. Coach pulled out his chainsaw and revved it up. Then he ran into the crowd and started swinging. Feeling the resistance of meat when he swung the power tool turned weapon, he began screaming. "Die fuckers!! DIE!!!!" Soon the swarm disintegrated into a giant, bloody puddle. Coach stood and stated at the crimson as his chainsaw burned the last of its gasoline. Lyra and the other ponies trotted over. The civilian ponies were crying. Coach didn't blame them, he thought he would burst out at that exact moment. And without a word, the group continued on, towards Canterlot Castle. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Yay. Suicidal Zombies. And Homicidal Zombies //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Yay. Suicidal Zombies. And Homicidal Zombies Chapter 7: Yay. Suicidal Zombies. And Homicidal Zombies Fluttershy wasn't very happy about the group's hold-up. Upon entering the safe room and securing it, the six ponies noticed that something was blocking them from exiting the safe room. It appeared that only Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and herself could clear the obstacle. "Can't you just turn it into a set of stairs, Twilight?" asked Rarity "I'm not sure. I can't remember a spell that would be capable of such an immense change." she replied, "I guess that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have to carry you guys up." "Um, oh ok." said Fluttershy meekly Rainbow Dash groaned, but still agreed. She picked up Applejack and flew her through the hole. Fluttershy took hold of Pinkie Pie, who made happy "Wheeeee!" sounds as she flew through the air. After maneuvering through the hole, Rainbow Dash returned through it to retrieve Rarity. "Hopefully that's the last time we have to deal with a ladder." said Applejack They gathered up any other supplies and unbarred the door. Taking in her surroundings, Fluttershy heard a strange noise coming from one of the corpses that littered the ground. She trotted over cautiously, as to not be attacked if the thing was infected, and examined the box thing it had in its grasp. "Rescue 7, this is Papa Gator, over." "This is Rescue 7, over." "Rescue 7, what is your repair status, over?" "Repair ETA is ten minutes, over." "Did not copy. Say again Rescue 7, over." "10 minutes, over." "Copy that..." "Um, Hello...?" said Fluttershy cautiously. No response from the box. Twilight came over and picked up the box with her magic. She clicked a button and then held it up for Fluttershy to speak to. "Um, hello?" "We have contact from the east bank, from Lieutenant Maverick's radio! East bank, are you healthy?" "Uh y-yes." "Copy that East bank." "Um, I don't have any ink on me right now but, um, I can remember it if you-" "That wasn't a literal command. Anyways, how many are in your group?" "Six ponies that could use some assistance, unless it's, um, any trouble to you..." "Papa Gator, we may need some mental assistance for the "ponies" on the east bank. East bank, I'm afraid we cannot extract you on that side of the bridge. We're going to need you to cross to the west bank. Be advised, infected have breached the bridge." Fluttershy looked at the bridge, "Um, the bridge isn't lowered." "There's a switch nearby that'll lower it." Almost instantly, the bridge's mechanism squealed to life. Pinkie Pie bounced up and down in glee. "Oh that's so cool!" "We're sending a helicopter to the other side to extract you. Be careful. We advise you to run." Twilight gave a look that said, "You don't say?" The bridge finally lowered and the safety grate slammed to the ground. "You heard the nice box guy, let's git a move on!" said Applejack The six ran off towards the other side. The streets were littered with carriage like things that were made of metal. There was a large rectangular one that had a large blue tarp stretching between it and another carriage. There were a few zombies underneath it. They turned to look at the living creatures that were crossing the threshold. They began sprinting towards the ponies, but were cut short when Twilight blasted them with a pistol. As the six continued running, the bridge became more worn, and the volume of infected humans increased. Several Jockeys tried to pull the ponies off of the side of the bridge, but pitifully failed. A Charger almost knocked Rarity over the side, but she managed to evade the creature's attack just barely. It flew off the edge and crashed into the water. Fluttershy continued running. The impossible urge to leave this nightmarish place drove her forward. All this pain. All this blood. All these sick creatures. It was almost to much to handle. "Aaah!" Twilight screamed. She'd been swarmed by a horde of them and was now barely fending them off on the ground. "Hang on, Twi!" shouted Applejack as she whacked a zombie in the face. Rarity pointed her gun towards the mob and fired. The horde diminished, leaving Twilight still lying on the ground, incapacitated. "I've got you Twilight." Fluttershy squeaked. She ran over to help her friend off of the ground. As she was pulling Twilight up, Fluttershy saw a large figure appear from behind a metal carriage. The thing was incredibly obese. Boils and warts covered its body. Blood and other fluids oozed from a hole in its stomach. It began to waddle towards Fluttershy. She panicked and bucked at the advancing zombie. When her hooves connected with the zombie, it exploded. Green mucus completely covered Fluttershy. The bloody goop seeped into her eyes and caused her to have extremely blurred vision. She screamed from the shock. It didn't seem to hurt her. But soon she realized the purpose of the gross vomit. Zombies began to swarm and pound her. She turned away from the attack, only to be cornered by another swarm. She screamed again. To escape the onslaught of undead, Fluttershy flew towards the edge of the bridge. She used her wings and hovered above the water. Tears practically sprayed from her eyes as she tried to wipe the bloody fluid from her eyes. "Fluttershy! Stay right there! You're leading them off the bridge!" shouted Rainbow Dash from somewhere nearby. Fluttershy squinted and saw a mob of zombies simply running off the bridge towards her. She smiled and laughed at their silliness. As the mucus began to drip off of her, she watched as the wave of suicidal zombies slowed to a stop. Fluttershy flew back to the bridge and landed next to Twilight. "You okay?" asked Twilight "Yes. Just shaken, is all." They continued on down the bridge. The closer they got to the west bank, the more zombies there were, it seemed. And the more damaged the bridge was. More and more carriages littered the pavement, some slipping into holes. "Do you guys feel that?" asked Applejack Now that she mentioned it, Fluttershy began to feel the ground shake. She thought it sounded like a Charger, but only larger. There was a giant crash from up ahead. A carriage exploded from the ground and flew towards the six ponies. They either ducked our evaded the flying metal object as it sailed over them and crushed a few infected that were behind them. Fluttershy turned to look towards the direction of where the carriage had been and saw maybe one of the most gruesome and terrifying scenes ever. The infected person was mutated beyond recognition. It lumbered towards them, screaming and snorting, using its thick arms as a second set of legs. The arms were maybe as thick as trees. It glared at the ponies in sickened hatred as its tongue flopped out of its mouth. It barreled towards the group of ponies and barely missed each of them. It's large mass carried its momentum further behind them before it stopped and began to turn around. "Run or shoot?!" shouted Rainbow Dash, "Run or shoot?!?!" "Both!" squeaked Fluttershy The ponies turned towards the west side of the bridge and ran, while pivoting their weapons behind them and firing at the beast. Infuriated by the hailstorm of bullets, the infected creature dug its hands into the ground and pulled up a slab of concrete. It hurled it at the running ponies and nearly missed Rarity. However, much dirt was thrown upon her mane. "Haha! Nyahnyah, missed us!" taunted Rainbow Dash as she turned to reload her sniper rifle. As she turned to fire at the creature, she saw it climbing some scaffolding on the side of the bridge. Before she could question what it was doing, it leaped towards her and swung its giant arm at her. Fluttershy watched in horror as her friend was swatted out of the air and sailed towards one of the carriages on the ground. She slammed into the window at the front of it, causing it to crack. Time almost seemed to slow down as Rainbow Dash bounced off the glass and tumbled to the concrete. She lay there, unconscious, as the giant zombie smashed into a carriage farther back. Applejack and Fluttershy raced over to the downed Pegasus. Her lack of consciousness disabled her ability to hold a gun and run. Fluttershy pushed Rainbow Dash onto Applejack's back. "We gotta go, now!" shouted Twilight as she emptied the clip on the creature, "This thing is like a tank!" So, with Rainbow Dash on her back, Applejack and her friends ran like a stampede of buffalo. The road from the bridge split as they reached the end of it. The main road was cut off by a chain fence. "What the hay is that?" said Applejack She pointed with a hoof at a strange vehicle near a dock. It looked like that strange contraption that Pinkie used on the occasion, only there was more bulk to it. It's propeller blades began to spin as a voice shouted from it. "Hurry! Get to the chopper! We can't-... What the fuck?! Horses?!" The tank zombie still lumbered and grunted behind them. Applejack, rather than running, stopped and picked something up off the ground. "Ah sure hope that whatever the heck this thing does packs a wallop..." she said as she pointed the grenade launcher at the Tank. Pinkie Pie giggled at the sound the gun made. And the explosion that followed. And the roar of homicidal rage after. Applejack, not knowing how to reload the weapon, dropped it and continued on with carrying Rainbow. They all dropped down as the escape vehicle began to increase its rotor speed. Twilight motioned for everyone to get on lard the thing. Once everypony was on, the ramp slowly rose and the vehicle rose into the air. "I-I guess you weren't joking about...ponies." said the pilot in disbelief. Before any of them could answer, the sound of concrete zooming past the hull of the vehicle grabbed their attention. The Tank, out of substances to throw, grabbed onto a straggling infected and hurled it towards the chopper with immense strength. The zombie flew through the air and landed in the propeller's rotor. In a spray of blood and body tissue, the propellers began to slow. And the vehicle began to descend to the waters below. Everypony screamed. The vehicle began to spin in midair as it spiraled towards the river. The pilot flailed about in the cockpit and accidentally hit the detonation switch. The last thing Fluttershy saw, before the white flash, was the image of a chunk of bridge flying towards her. God damn! It took forever to release this chapter! If you're wondering why, it's cause I was basically blanking on story line and pissing around on other shit. Sooooo... I will leave you with a completely pointless topic that will either cause you to ponder or plead for mercy: duck cocks. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Switch //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Switch MLP and L4D2 Crossover Fanfic: Of Pandemics and Ponies Prologue: Switch "Who in the hell, puts an evac station, up forty flights of goddam stairs?" puffed Coach. "I dunno. Maybe the helicopter. Maybe its made of chocolate. Ha..." joked Nick. When they reached the door, Ellis and Rochelle were already outside. "Hello?" shouted Ellis, "Where is everyp-body?" He almost said everypony. The helicopter was flying away and Rochelle was getting hysterical, repeating "This can't be happening." over and over again. Nick was about to complain about how much trouble it took to get to the top of the hotel when the wind suddenly started to pick up. "Hey, the helicopter must be comin back!" said Ellis happily. Nick looked around. There wasn't a helicopter in sight. So where was the wind coming from? He was about to warn the other survivors, when they were enveloped in a white light. ================================================================================================== "Alright everypony, I've gathered you here today to witness a new spell I've learned!" said a cheery Twilight Sparkle. "Not to offend ya, sugarcube, but you're starting to sound like that braggy pants, Trixie." said an orange Earth Pony. "This isn't some pointless trick, Applejack! It's a helpful tool!" Twilight's friends were sitting in the library, all watching her expectantly. "Now, this spell is designed to give you ink marks on your body that will morph into text or numbers! So you can have reminders pop up on your leg or check the time on your nose." Her friends looked somewhat confused. "To demonstrate this, I will cast the spell on Spike." The dragon was standing nearby. He waved at the audience to show his presence. Twilight pointed her horn at Spike and squeezed her eyes shut. The unicorn's horn began glowing a dull fuchsia. Suddenly there was a gust of wind and a giant flash of light. Spike got the full force of the flash and was blinded. He couldn't make out very much, but he noticed that his pony friends had disappeared and had been replaced by four...things.
