I glanced over at my mother, her artic blue eyes filled with worry and stress from working late nights as a maid, placed my hand over her icy cheek and smiled. "Yes mother, I'm sure I want to do this, it is Princess Celestia's orders. Plus, I need a break from this noisy, hellish, city." My mother gave me a light smile, her lips cracking from the dryness, and pulled me into a hug. "Alright my dear, please don't get into any trouble. And if you ever want to come back home, your father and I will be waiting for you." She pulled back and placed her hands over my cheeks. "Ok mother, I love you." I whispered, my voice breaking as I kissed her forehead. Her smile grew bigger as she placed our foreheads together and closed her eyes. Our little moment was interrupted by the train whistle. "All aboard for Ponyville!" The conductor cried out, looking at his pocket watch. My mother moved away from me and hugged me again. "Velvet, she needs to go." My father instructed, placing a hand on her shoulder. My mother broke away and wiped the tears that were dripping down her face and nodded. I gave my father a loving smile and boarded the train. Once I found a seat, I waved at my parents, until the train began to move. I pushed my sea blue glasses into place and sighed, watching the bright sun wash away the last of the snow in Canterlot, the only home I've ever known. Princess Celestia gave me a task not to long ago: to travel to Ponyville, one of the first towns ever created in all of Equestria, and spend two months there, learning about its history and the effect it had during the Equestrian War ten years ago. It was so simple, and yet I agreed to do my part as her student. Anything to get out of Canterlot and live in a much more reserved and quiet little place, filled with more history than any of the cities in Equestria combined! I closed my eyes as the train roared on, excited to finally start a whole new life in a much better place.
