“Um… Hello Fluttershy.” I hear an unknown voice say from our left. Immediately turning I see a grey mare with a lovely black mane.

“Oh Octavia! What are you doing in the forest?” Fluttershy asks with a forced smile on her face.

“Oh I’m trying to find my bowtie, my roommate Vinyl decided to try her hoof at teleportation spells,” The mare named Octavia replies with a twinge of ignorance in her voice.

“And she teleported your bowtie?” I ask with a tilt of my head “finally someone who doesn’t think bowties are out of style.” As I say this I walk over to shake her hoof. “My name is Mirror Image, Octavia was it?”

“Yes My name is Octavia,” Octavia replies while reaching out to shake my hoof. “What brings you guys into the Everfree at this time of day?”

“Oh it’s just terrible one of my chickens got out and came into the forest,” Fluttershy says with despair “And we don’t know whether she is okay or not.”

Octavia staring blankly at Fluttershy says “That is bad, do you need my help? I could probably find my bowtie in here as well.”

“Well I…” Fluttershy starts to say nervously before I butt in.
“That would be quite lovely Octavia, the more eyes the better.” I say as enthusiastic I could get
with the pain in my leg. “Let us head out now so that we may find them both.”

After about five minutes of walking Octavia pipes up “I couldn’t help but notice, and I just have to ask. What happened to your leg and wing?” With that I stop and turn to look at her, to which she quickly replies with “Sorry if I was rude with that question!”

Chuckling I respond “Rude? Not at all, I had fallen of a cliff trying to escape some Timberwolves. And before you ask, I was in the forest trying to find a new home, I was kinda forced to leave my old one.”

“Wow that is just horrible.” She says with a gasp “wait is that your chicken?” she asks pointing.

“Oh Henrietta! We found you!” Fluttershy says with a lot of energy “Wait why are you wearing a bowtie?”
“That would be mine,” Octavia says sheepishly as she takes the bowtie off of Henrietta.
After about twenty minutes we reach the edge of the forest. It was starting to get darker.

“Um I know we just met and all,” Octavia says nervously looking at the ground “But would you care to join me for something to eat?”

“Well I was supposed to help Fluttershy, but if she doesn’t need me then sure.” I say looking toward Fluttershy.

“What? Oh me, no I don’t need any more help Mirror, but since you are staying with me for now, make sure that you are back soon.” Fluttershy says caringly.

“Thank you Fluttershy,” I say with a quick nod. “Well Octavia where do you want to go?”

“Ooh I know this good restaurant by the edge of town near here!” Octavia says with a lot of glee as she starts to drag me along “This way to the Broken Shelaighlai!”
We arrive in no time at all, true to Octavia’s word it was on the outskirts of Ponyville.

“Hello Sir, Ma’am, are you ready to order?” the waiter asks in a polite yet snobby tone.

“I’ll have the Spicy Daisy and Hay fry sandwich, what do you want mirror? Go ahead and pick whatever you want, because I’m paying for this.

“You know what? I’ll take the same as her,” I say nodding “that sounds like it would be interesting.”

“And anything to drink at all?” the waiter says

“No thank you,” I say nodding “I can’t answer for Octavia though.”

“Just a water please,” she says. As the waiter leaves she asks “I do believe that you mentioned this in passing, but why are you staying with Fluttershy?”

“It’s a complicated story but here is what I can explain off the bat,” I reply with a shaking my head “So it starts in my old home near the wastelands. As you might have heard it is pretty bad out there, the air is so rich in Sulphur few can actually survive there. I being a Pegasus and all am not much help there where the unicorns get all the…” I pause hanging my head down.
“I can’t lie about this, I had a story all set up if someone asked what happened, but it’s not right.” I say solemnly. “Do you know of somewhere secluded we can go after we eat, because what I want to show you could scare a lot of people.”

“Did you hear that?” I ask looking around “I swear I heard someone talking.”

“What are you talking about?” Octavia asks looking concerned “Oh look our food is here!”

Not much happened over the time we were eating. The sandwich was slightly spicy like intended. Octavia let about 16 bits on the table and took me outside. “There is a creek by the edge of the Everfree that no one goes to at all.”

“This should work,” I say looking around “Now I want you to promise me something. Do not scream, ok?”

“Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!” She says while doing some gestures.
“What?” I say with a cocked head.

“It pretty much means that I can’t break the promise.” She explains.

“Um… ok, here goes nothing.” I say as I drop my disguise. The only thing Octavia does is stare. “I must say I actually expected a different reaction.” I say “You okay?”
