The Land of Yggdra. It truly is a beautiful continent far away from the continent of Equestria. There, not just only normal ponies, pegasi and unicorns inhabit the land, but many other exotic pony species such as the elemental breezies and ents of all sizes, and half-ogres call this land their home. Ruled by the "Holy King", it had experienced a long time peace.

However, a crisis fell on the continent, as the mysterious Black Army rose from nowhere, making it's first appearance and began attacking. All efforts of defence and resistance were annihilated as this evil broke through and tore down the Royal Capital, Yggdra's main stronghold, and the King's home. Now a threat to the land's very existence and home, the Holy King gathered soldiers from every nation and city within Yggdra in order to make a comeback and to prepare for battle. After so much terror and bloodshed, the Holy King lost to the "Black King" and perished in battle. Such loss has brought all the allied forces into a collapse, as the Black Army and it's hordes of dark soldiers and monsters continued fighting Yggdra's weakened forces, and Yggdra found herself slipping away to absolute destruction.

As time courses through the dark ages of the Black Army's invasion, a young, semi-silent, earth stallion with his breezie partner and guide Pirika formed the "Volunteer Army". It is a group made up of civilian fighters, mercenaries, guild members, soldiers, former heroes and ponies of all kind who was willing to help out those in trouble and to fight back against the Black Army without any cost. Travelling with an ever-growing group of ponies to friends, the letters of the stallion's childhood friend in Equestria, and a mysterious young unicorn mare, the Volunteer Army journeys around Yggdra to find out the mystery behind the mare's large book, fight the Black Army and return peace to Yggdra.

This is a crossover of MLP and the Sega/Gumi mobile game Chain Chronicle. All (but one) of the characters are taken from the game and are ponified according to their outfit.
