Everyone has a destiny. Large, like the Elements of Harmony, and small, like some of the backround ponies. When Dawn wakes from her coma since the banishment of Nightmare Moon, she finds a world much different from when she left it. Knowing in life going back is impossible, she sets out to find her own.

To dispel any confusion, the ponies we see in the show are all humans with either wings, horns, or nothing. There is a seperate, non-sentient species for pegasi, unicorns, and standard ponies.
