[Loading file report. . . /\ /// [Welcome back Celestia] [Status ] 100% In the year 3009, Equestrian life was at a turning point. A point we almost didn't recover from. Our world was losing resources that we desperately needed to survive; Food, water, fuel and much, much more. The earth ponies couldn't produce enough food for the masses, the pegasi lost control of the weather in crucial areas, and the unicorns. The unicorns began to push around the other races to the point of rebellion. It didn't help when the griffins teamed up with the diamond dogs to try to take over Equestria during the uprising. This lead to many years of fighting, loss and hardship that shouldn't have happened. The structure of our kind was pushed to the limits of collapse. It wasn't until Princess luna came up with a solution alongside Princess Twilight sparkle to combat this crisis. Their solution was to find other worlds where we could expand all the strain from our own home, bringing back order amidst the chaos and returning life as we know it back to normal. In the year 3059, Equestrian life was brought to an age of advancement and exploration. The years that followed after the announcement that ponies would soon reach for the stars came to be known as the age of silence. The uprising stopped, the griffin diamond dog upheaval halted and everyone waited for the promise of traveling the cosmos. The wait was long for the generations that came forth after the cease-fire. When the first mare, Nelly Armstrong, landed on the moon. The citizens of the world rallied soon after the event, the masses began to contribute to the advancement to continue our reach far beyond than the moon. The griffin diamond dog alliance ended. The griffins banned under the Equestrian flag, helping the pegasi retake full control of the world's weather. The diamond dogs did the same, helping the earth ponies in mining and growing for the resources we needed to further produced more ships and in higher quality, but the zebras were not so willing to help the cause. In the year 3105, The twelve Zebracan nations signed a pact to never be apart of the new colony, Loyaltia, or any other operations concerning the new federation, thus beginning the rise of the new dominion. [ERROR FILE NOT FOUND.] In the year 3406, after the sixth new addition to the colonization process. Life, that was on the brink of terrible hardship had ended. The overpopulated homeworld was spread throughout the six colonies bringing stability and comfort. The zebras, however, kept their pact to never join the federation, thus making them hostile and distant to all other races. We tried many times to bring them in and free them from their suffering, some did find their way into the federation, but not all were willing to accept change. Even after the new dominion had gained exceptional ground in independence and finance that they could have started their own space program. But as they saying goes; No point in beating a dead horse. In the year of 3534, a team of ponies found a planet similar to ours, but what they found was something we couldn't have imagined. Extraterrestrial life. We made quick contact hoping they would welcome our arrival with open arms, but that was not the case. These beings we found called themselves,Humans. They took our arrival as an act of interstellar war, thus beginning the conflict that would take the lives and worlds of so many. Current year-3634. The human war raged on for nearly a century with no end in sight. Loyaltia is the last line of defense for our home world, but their resources are running thin and will soon fall just like the others. The home world is our main priority, keeping it safe and well armed for the final barrage that is soon to come. We cannot send them anything, no food, no ships, not even a simple letter telling they are doomed. If only we had one chance, one glimmer of hope to push them back on the retreat and begin a new campaign to retake all that was lost. [Load file-MN-777?] This... This is what we need! This one simple person is the key to taking back what is rightfully ours. I just hope after writing this account of brief history, that this soldier is still alive. I'll send a dispatch to collect him from Loyaltia before it falls. For this Captain Midnight. 'I wonder. Who are you? Could you be the key in saving Equestria? If so, then I hope you make it to Canterlot safely. You are the only hope left. Project MN-777' //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter one; Enter MN-777. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter one; Enter MN-777. ...///...[Loading report.]...\...          [Status]         <..//Continue- Y/N?\..> [Confirmed] [Welcome-Captain Midnight] "So tell us Captain Midnight, why do you think it was acceptable to abandon your post and betray your squadron?" said a man behind a two-way mirror. "I didn't! I was separated turning a storm caused by a weather bomb over the area." I defended. "So you say, but can you confirm the test from the colonel who was there during the estimated date and time you were said to have left?" "No." "Why?" "Because the colonel died in an attack on the base during the storm." Silence. "Explain. From the beginning Captain." "Yes, sir." Space, the final frontier or so they say. The vast eternal void that makes up most of the universe in its entirety. The emptiness that separates our homeland from the colonies. The most inhospitable place responsible for the deaths of millions. Countless die every day as the war rages on. The war that started centuries ago after a group of explorers found the human home world. Now as the fighting continues, what's our rulers doing? Do they care that their last line of defense is under siege? Will they care if colony; 1047-DX4, or locally known as, Loyaltia. Named in honor of an element of harmony that represented loyalty. Fell from the never ending attacks? What is Celestia doing in the homeland? Is she just idly watching us fall while her special fleet hoard all the resources we so desperately need? Princess Luna and Princess Twilight sparkle have only what is left on this miserable rock to defend Equestria from the never ending barrage from the humans, preventing them from reaching our home world one battle at a time. If it wasn't for their sense of duty and great leadership, pulling all able bodies to stand and fight for their homes and being a voice of reason and compassion. Giving the hopeless, hope, will it last? Both of them barely managed to keep this up. Planet after planet that fell to the humans, stripped away the hearts of the survivors of hope, and when they tell their tales of how they lost, the virus continued its path weakening the minds of all soldiers for the hardships yet to come. This war came to a standstill a hundred years ago, here at Loyaltia. It was thanks to a weapon Princess Twilight created that crippled the humans from ever using their warp drives and satellite array ever again. Though it was effective, and the advance was halted to a complete stand still. It made their entire armada trapped in Loyaltia's system. They can't call home nor have enough fuel to return the long way. The princess thought if we could outlast them, and starve them out. Then we can look at a future where we could see a day without fighting, but it backfired. The humans kept alive over the century still in a never conflict to take over this world. Now, all we have left is our hope that this war will end with Celestia's grand fleet coming to save the day and crush the humans like bugs. No more fighting, no more bloodshed, and no more having to keep a gun under our pillows from an attack of humans that managed to break free from the orbital batteries. But how long must we wait? "HEY, MEAT SACK, GET UP! IT'S YOUR SHIFT! GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUT OF BED AND GET TO YOUR POST!" "Yes, sir," I groaned in a half-assed salute, getting out of bed for another day of boring guard duty. I let myself go into auto-pilot, putting on all my standard issue clothes while I try to remember a day when I wasn't getting yelled at my superior, Major Hardass. I chuckled at that name. You would think his parents had a sense of humor, you'd be wrong. That over-sized stallion with massive amounts of anger pent up, probably because other ponies thought it would be fun to give him a Hard time. Though very intimidating at first sight. Once you get to know him, he is a nice guy. So long as you don't touch his teddy bear. I did that once. A bad move that put me on guard duty for the rest of my deployment, here at fort Mac. 'Good times.' The fort has been my home for the past two years, ever since I joined the military. The colorless, lifeless, funless, and most importantly useless of all the places I could have been sent to. The monotone gray concrete walls meant for protection against everything from orbital strikes to a cold breeze. It doesn't help the fact they're only six others, including myself, to defend this location. If Major Hardass let us pass the time with a little fun making this fort slightly have more color, then I could be a little more inclined to believe that this place has some purpose. "Dang Nighty, you look like you slept next to a Fenline." And there stood the bane of my existence. Sergeant Blueberry punch, the most snarky little stallion you could ever meet. The average looking, bright red bowl cut for a mane, with a light blue coat in the standard white tank top tucked into a digital fleck tarn camos tucked also into the most reflective black leather boots you can find. His tone didn't help much in the nerdy department either. I would hate sounding like I had a nasal problem twenty-four seven, but really? I would rather sleep next to a human than one of those creepy; half dog, half cat, half bird, ugly to the point, not even its mother could love. It was going to be one of those days, isn't it? Having to listen to this anti-chick magnet talk on and on about how he is going to dominate every girl in the world. I'll admit, I fucking hate him. He is one of the most annoying, rude, ponies you could meet. Half the time, all I want to do is beat him to the point it makes him pretty. I will not start out my day as the nerd reliever for the day. Blueberry can go suck lieutenant Soft note's dick. I heard he sung that way. Speaking of which, here he come's now, and right behind Blueberry too. Time to start the day pissing off Blueberry. "Hey, I know you have a crush on Soft note, but if you don't ask, you'll never know for sure if he has the same feelings for you," I replied getting up for work. Soft note blushed behind Blueberry without his notice, thus it was time to run before the awkwardness happened. "Is that true Blueberry?" asked Soft note from behind as I made my way out of the room to my post. "WHAT!?" came quickly after from Blueberry's mouth. "Don't be afraid B!" I happily encouraged from halfway down the hall. "FUCK YOU MIDNIGHT!" was his reply. Ahh. My station. My pointless station in which I have to defend from birds...Or falling leaves, maybe the odd case of air, 'Oooh look a squirrel.' Fort Mac was placed in a forest in batshit nowhere. It was a small fort meant for simple reconnaissance of our area. But I think it was for getting rid of trouble makers thinking they're the shit of all badassery. I wouldn't blame high command either for doings so. The only one's here with any actual battle time is; me, the diamond dog twins Mia and Tia, and Hardass. I had over four hundred hours in firefight time earning me the rank of Captain and becoming an ODST, but that didn't last. During a simple drill, I messed up by thinking it was real. I got to my pod, hit the switch, and landed inside a cafe, instantly getting put back on the ground for wasting pick up time and destroying a small business. 'At least I got to keep my rank.' Leaning against my tree looking over a vast vista of, grass, trees, and...Nothing. Every day was the same thing. Get up via shouting, grab a meal in a bag that tastes like shit, mess with Blueberry punch, eat said meal of shit, look up into the sky to see the odd orbital explosion followed up by a shower of debris, get hit on by either Mia or Tia depending what day it is, sleep, and then finish by going to bed and repeat the same process over again. 'Join the military they said. Life of heroism they said.' More like a job of utter bordem. Or so I thought. From where I was stationed I couldn't get a clear view of the base, not that I needed too. The sound coming from an orbital dropship landing in the courtyard was evidence enough. Just from the wheeze coming from the engine, it was a Mk-32D. A high-class officer ship meant for the carrying of someone important. 'Maybe my suspension is over and I can go back to the front lines?' It was a hope, but for how stupid my location was for a place that doesn't need guarding, I wasn't going to make any progress. Though as luck would have it, a squadron with an officer in the lead was head my way, but none of them looked too happy. From where I was standing, one of them was trying his best not to laugh. 'Great, I'm a laughing stock. What did I do now?' I frankly could care less as to what I was doing right now. I propped myself back against the tree looking outwards towards the lake. A place we are not allowed to swim in due to Hardasses rules. "OFFICER ON DECK!" shouted on of the clones to make their presence known to everything in a one-mile radius. If I were a human, I would have shot the idiot on the spot. "I SAID!" "I know what you said corporal, shut up before a squirrel kills you," I said cutting him off. I turned my head back to their direction. The minion wasn't too happy for my insult, as he broke free from formation conveying his emotions the only way he knew how, by proving his strength. The officer and the other clones paid no attention to his break or the fact he rushed me with a right hook charged and ready to go. He let go his wind-up in a full wide swing for my face. 'Let's see what the officer will do after I beat her lacky up.' I rolled into his swing grabbing hold of his arm and in a single motion, I flipped him over my shoulder. Once he landed hard on his back, winding him from all breath, I followed up with a solid kick to the face knocking him out cold. "Heh. Rookie." I smiled. The other's didn't have the same feelings as I did after the fact. I leaned up back against my tree crossing my arms raising a brow waiting for the next victim. "Was that really necessary Captain?" asked the female officer pessimistically. The second she said my rank, her minions went from anger at my disrespect, to a sudden need to regain mine. "Yes." "Hmpf, you never change." she cracked a smile pointing to her fallen minion to be picked up. "So," I said clasping my hands making an audible sound all the while bobbing up and down on my feet like a kid. "Can I help you?" I asked. "You can come with..." *BOOOOOOOO
