Incubus

Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt was cold and sunny all at once. The winds carried chills and solar radiance lit the land of Equestria. It came alive through little wildflowers and tiny, hardy insects crawling about the undersides of stones. A sprinkle of water nourished that same floral growth, their thanks owed to the owner of their garden. Fluttershy raised up, a smile in her heart as they bloomed in sweet scents and photogenic dew speckles. She crept alongside the shadows of her cottage, perking up as bush noise alerted her. A pair of luminescent, compound eyes showed her danger. Both were lime-green and sour, like the liquid dripping down it's fangs.
Fluttershy took off on her fleet hooves, having sprinted away from danger her whole life. This was no exception. The grueling process of pushing her body still hurt, however. No matter how tough somepony was or how immersed in runner's high they were, lactic acid always triumphed. Fluttershy dare not glance or leak or think behind her, even though her shins would shatter at any moment. The alarming buzz of changeling wings always kept her aware, sober by danger. Every moment after, she knew it reached ever closer. Wind rushed past her eyes and whipped her tear ducts raw, forcing perpetual blurriness as she crashed into a stray oak among tall grass. Her panicked state drove her to lay prone and hide her eyes. Fluttershy became smaller and minimized the volume her body ate.
It stepped along the meadow, crawling closer and closer. It's sickening chatter of hungry teeth accompanied only the unsheath of some slimy meat. And though she squeaked instinctively, it was choked away by the muffle of her hooves. The bestial predator dripped saliva from over her mane. She tried to run or fight or scream. Thankfully, she did both. Fluttershy managed to kiss it with a buck, dislocating their jaw at an angle. She scrambled up and soared high, biting her lip from the exhaustion burning her legs. At the edge of Cloudsdale, the noisy chatter of society drove her to tears. Civilization. Sweet civilization. A grey-coated policemare greeted her with a single stare of concern.
"Ch-ch-ch-changelings...! There are ten of them... They tried to take me down there." Fluttershy panicked, breathing asthmatically in her wide-eyed squeaking.
Well, one popped up from the same edge she entered. Officer Hooves drew her bludgeon from the hip and concussed it from an upward diagonal motion. The sheer force split it's jaw and sent it flying all the way down. The impacted mess wasn't a problem, either. She sent a maintenance division down to handle the problem entirely. Officer Hooves took a deep breath and exhaled after she took Fluttershy to a friend's house.
"Fluttershy? You don't really wanna go to the station, probably. So you wanna crash at Rainbow's while I call Celestia about this?"
"Yes. Yes, please. I can't remember how long It's been since... I've seen her. It's been too long. What if she hates me now. I'm such a bad friend. I'm such a bad friend." She jittered, biting her hooves as they waited outside the entrance.
Hn. Rainbow answered the door. What a pleasant, normal greeting.
"Hey. What's up, Flu-"
All her wind flew out the window as her bestie Fluttershutter glomped little Rainbow. They lay there somewhat awkward and somewhat belonging. Cyan and yellow rubbed together as Fluttershy wept into her chest, earning both sympathy and guilt. Where was she when her friend needed her. Where did the time go. The growing pain took her heart as Rainbow Dash kissed their forehead and licked about her supple lips. It slid all around ans made the pegasi breathe. For once in their lives they were breathing. They breathed into each other as it came to huffing how glad they were to see one another. To feel safe.
A certain someone walked out and into the living area. Lilith's face stayed rather uniform as she ate a piece of bacon and took a left toward the kitchen. Fuck, Rainbow groaned, holding the sides of her head in pure frustration. Yes. Because that's what they all needed, another romantic obstacle. She kissed her anxious friend's cheek and raised up to rush over. In less than ten seconds, Rainbow reached the doorway and caught the incubus eating more bacon. Forced to act, her baby girl shook with all the things she never said.
"Lily, I... I know what you're thinking, okay? I know why you wanna avoid me and I dunno- it's my fault, okay. I did it. I kissed her. I didn't tell you I was with Fluttershy like that. We- we had a thing two weeks ago before we broke it off, okay? I'm- I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry."
When it took more than an answer to reply, Rainbow started tearing and stifling sobs.
"Please... just yell at me. Do something. Anything. Hit me. I don't want the silent treatment. It's- it's the worst thing ever...!"
When she felt arms around her wings and sides, hands between her hair and lips on her own, all she could do was wobble and let it all out. Every tear and choked worry poured from Rainbow as they were meant to. Every joy and sorrow. Every stress and apology she could muster. It fell down her cheeks in warm streams between broken seams and beams deep within. And for a moment she felt peace within and withdrawal from sin. The first words left her lips as they finally parted.
"I'm sorry. I'm... sorry, daddy. I've been a bad little." She squeezed out, clinging for dear life.
"No. You've been a good girl. And daddy could never blame you for cheering up one of your sisters. Daddy's proud of you for caring, okay? I love you, Dashie. Forever and always."
It was too much. Her throat dried and she couldn't find the words to speak. Her daddy was in Lily's eyes and all Rainbow could do was keep her tears running. Dashie. That was the name he gave her. It tore stitches from a place no one else could reach. The wounds torn and exposed started to stitch as they laid down in bed and rested instead. No adventures. No fights. It was just them. Soon the years of unleashed, raw emotions put her in deep sleep. And the last words out her mouth were simply 'daddy... I love you too.'
They stayed that way for hours. And only when Lilith absolutely had to use the bathroom did she creep out of bed, tuck her little in and let them cuddle into their warm resting spot. The image of a sleeping pegasus with lashes a little too straight and snores a little too cute melted her heart. It might've just exploded. Her little Dashie stayed locked away in her thoughts, splaying a blissful smile over her thin lips. And though Fluttershy yelped on sight, she just pet the mare, picked her up and made them sit on the couch together.
"Um... um..." Fluttershy hushed, looking up.
The smile was wider.
"Um..."
The smile turned to a heavy-eyed grin.
"Um...!" Fluttershy squeaked in panic, struggling as she was carried to bed.
"No, you don't have to do this! You don't have to-"
The happy little futa tucked her happily into bed, which gave her the exclusive right of sleeping next to happy little Dashie.
"... tuck me into bed with Rainbow Dash?"
They all took a lazy nap and enjoyed the fresh petrichor conquering the air of their sanctuary. Was there anything better than the sound of rain when wrapped up all cozy and laying with someone you cared about. Of course not. Nothing could ruin what they felt just by being together. That was why they belonged there, in each other's arms.
