Chapters Chapter 1. Lucky to meet you
It was a normal day in Ponyville, everypony was doing what they normally do. Meanwhile, one particular rainbow colored maned Pegasus was flying around in the sky, enjoying the beautiful day. Her name was Rainbow Dash, and since she had the day off of work today, she decided to spend it doing tricks in the air, hoping somepony might notice her "awesome" moves. She felt like nothing could go wrong today. Until...
"LOOK OUT BELOW!"
A sudden dark blue blur fell right past Rainbow Dash. Thinking it was a Pegasus with a busted wing, she dived down to save the falling stranger. They were getting closer and closer to the ground, until the Pegasus started to pull himself up into the sky. Rainbow stopped flying to catch the new guy and saw that he was doing a mid air flip, and landed right into a mud puddle, splashing mud all over Dash's face. When she wiped it off, she saw a male, dark blue Pegasus, with a brown tail and mane. The top of the mane, was covered with a brown leather pilots hat, with goggles over his eyes, and he also had with him (what Rainbow remembered Rarity calling) a satchel. Rainbow Dash also noticed his cutie mark was a pair of horseshoes intertwined.
He flew up into the air and said, "HELLO ponies of...ponies of...uh,"
He flew down to a random mare and asked, "Hey uh what town am I in,"
"Ponyville?" The mare said, curious of who he was.
"'Kay thanks," The stranger flew back to where he was, pretending as if noting happened and said, "HELLO ponies of Ponyville,"
Who is this guy. Rainbow Dash thought, and almost as if he read her mind, the stranger introduced himself.
"My name is Lucky Horseshoes, I am the most fastest, most awesomest, and the most handsomest," he said, winking at another random mare. "Pegasus in all. Of. Equestria."
Lucky then felt a sudden tap on his shoulder. When he turned around, he saw a very angry, and very annoyed Rainbow Dash.
"Sorry to rain on your parade bub," she said. "But the title for most awesomest and most fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria, belongs to me ."
"Oh, of course, and you are?" Lucky asked.
"I'm glad you asked," she proudly said. "I'm Rainbow Dash. I'm the element of loyalty, one of Princess Twilight's best friends, and the only one who can create a sonic rainboom."
"Oh right!" Lucky started. "Your that mare, who did that thing that I've never heard of."
Rainbow Dash was really starting to get annoyed by this guy. "If you must know," she said, "a sonic rainbow is..."
Before she could finish, Rainbow was interrupted by Pinkie Pie, who appeared between them.
"A sonic rainboom is.......something that happens when.......a Pegasus goes really really.....fast and Rainbow Dash it the......only one who can do it," Pinkie Pie explained, while jumping up and down on her trampoline.
"How did you even know what we were talking about?" asked a very confused Lucky Horseshoes.
"Because your both talk.....ing over the town silly," Pinkie Pie answered. "Everypony can hear......what your both saying."
Rainbow and Lucky both looked down. Sure enough, the town's ponies (including the rest of Rainbow Dash's friends) were looking up at them. The Pegasi flew back down to the ground, where Lucky decided to continue the conversation.
"So you can do that sonic rainboom thing by going really fast huh?" He said with a note of interest. "I guess that means I can do not one, but two sonic rainbooms. Ya' know, because I'm so fast."
If Dash wasn't annoyed before, she was now. "I already told you," she said through gritted teeth. "I'm the fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria."
"Then let's prove it shall we." Lucky went over to the mud puddle where he landed on.
"First one to make it to that way to bright castle over there, and back, prove's their the fastest Pegasus, and get to splash mud in the loser's face" He said pointing towards Princess Twilight's castle.
"Deal," Rainbow Dash then went over to the mud puddle and both her and Lucky got into racing positions. That's when the Princess of Friendship herself decided to interject.
"Rainbow, you don't have too prove anythi...." Twilight stopped talking when Rainbow Dash gave her a look that said let me do this. Twilight, after knowing Rainbow Dash for a long time, decided to give up, and went back with the rest of her friends. Then Pinkie Pie came up to the two Pegasi, holding a checkered flag. This clearly stated she wanted to start the race.
"On your mark.....get set.....GO!"
The two Pegasi took off. Rainbow Dash only lost a races twice. One time was during the running of the leaves, but that was because she was too busy cheating alongside with Applejack. The other time was during the Equestria Games, but she knew there was a chance she would lose that race with the Wonder bolts. This time, however, she was going to win because she had no need to cheat, and there was defiantly no way she was gonna....what the?! Rainbow Dash stopped mid air with a shocked look on her face, as she saw Lucky Horseshoes leaning on the side of the top of the castle, giving a fake yawn.
"-YAWN-about time you got here," He said with a sarcastic grin. "I thought you actually forgot we were racing."
Rainbow Dash shook off her state of shock and zoomed back to mud puddle as fast as she could. He's not going to win, He's to going to win, HE'S NOT GOING TO... Before she got to the mud puddle, a sudden blue blur zoomed past her, and splashed Rainbow Dash with mud, again. He then got up triumphantly and started to gloat.
"I told you. Fastest. Pegasus. In. Equeastra," Lucky said to Rainbow Dash, booping her on the nose.
Rainbow had a mix of emotions. She was shocked because she lost, she was confused on how she lost, and she was certainly angry that not only did Lucky win, but he BOOPED her on the nose.
"Are you mad? You seem mad," Lucky said, clearly not reading the very angry look on Dash's face. "Yeah your mad. Looks like I'm going to have to fix that before I leave."
"You know what! I should just....," Rainbow Dash stopped her threat when a question just popped up in her head. "What do you mean by, 'before you leave'?" She asked.
"Oh, that's my thing ya' know," Lucky responded. "I travel from town to town, village to village, and home to home, to see Equestria, not just from books or pictures, but with my own two eyes."
Thank Celesta, he's not going to stay. Rainbow Dash thought with relieve. I can barely keep my sanity with Pinkie Pie around, and I just can't imagine what it'll be like with this guy.
"However, I never leave a town until i do two things," Lucky said, breaking dash out of her relief. "One. I learn about it's history, and two. I have everypony that lives in the town feel safe with calling me, their friend."
Well great, now I guess he wont leave after all Dash thought, this time full of anger. Because I can never imagine anypony here, especially my friends, EVER liking Lucky Horseshoe.
Author's Note
Once again, first ever fan fic, and pretty much first time making a story of any kind. I'll take criticism about the bad writing, just not about a bad story.
Also let me know what you think of Lucky Horseshoes, I'll take negative or postitve comments on the character.

Chapter 3. Lucky to have you around part 2: Twilight's and Rarity's stories, and Lucky's song
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. It was the next day in a late afternoon, and Lucky Horseshoes was flying above Ponyville, going over the information he learned about the towns festivals.
"Okay, lets see here," he said to himself, "There's Nightmare night, Summer Harvest Parade, Ponyville Days festival, and Foal and Filly Fair. Oh, and apparently that pink pony throws a huge party at, well, pretty much anything. Man I can't wait to get that journal back, then I can stop talking to myself and actually write things down."
Lucky than looked down at the ground to see the ponies below. Man, I can't believe I've been here for almost a week, Lucky thought, It Never takes this long. Maybe I should give up and head to the next town. I guess Princess Twilight wouldn't mind if I ask for the Journal back. He was about to head over to the castle when something got his attention. There was a small orange filly with a purple mane sitting out on the edge of Ponyville, looking down at something. I wonder what her problem is, he thought. Flying down, Lucky went to see what was wrong.
"Hey kid," he said, startling the filly, "Are you alright?"
The filly didn't say anything. After a moment, she stood up and showed Lucky a broken blue scooter, with the handlebars bent and a wheel broken off.
"No, I'm not alright," she responded, "Two jerks broke my scooter and it was my favorite way to get around Ponyville."
Lucky didn't know what to do. This filly looked like she was about to cry, and he did not want to feel guilty for leaving a crying filly alone by herself, so he decided to make her feel better.
"Hey it's okay kid," he told the filly, "I bet you can get it fixed, or better yet, get a new one."
"I don't want a new one," the filly responded, "I've had that thing for as long as I can remember, and the damages are going to take forever to repair. And what really stinks is that sometimes, when I'm on this scooter, I feel like I can finally fly."
Fly? Lucky thought to himself, What does she mean by... Oh. He took a closer look at the filly to find that she had two really small wings. After understanding what the problem was, Lucky had a perfect idea.
"Hey kid," Lucky said to the filly, "Or, um... hey out of curiosity, what is your real name?"
"Scootaloo," the filly responded.
"Well Scootaloo, I just so happen to know of a way for you to fly," Lucky said, giving Scootaloo hope.
"You do? How?" She asked with excitement.
"By using the power of...Imagination," Lucky answered with a stupid grin. Scootaloo, however, had a face of disappointment.
"Hey don't be upset," Lucky reassured the child, "Imagination is more powerful than you think. In fact, it was imagination that caused me to be the awesome flyer that I am today."
What does he think I am, a five year old? Scootaloo thought. However, she was curious on where this guy was going.
"Okay," Scootaloo said, giving up, "What do I have to do?"
"Alright. Now, it's as simple as four steps," he told her, "First, I want you to close your eyes. Ya' got that? Close your eyes, and no matter what, I want you to keep them closed."
Following the order, Scootaloo closed her eyes.
"Second, I want you to imagine as if you've took off to the sky," Lucky said, his voice coming from behind Scootaloo. Doing what she was told, Scootaloo actually felt as if she left the ground, even feeling the wind through her mane.
"Third, imagine as if you're above the clouds," Lucky said, this time sounding like he was below her. Scootaloo followed his order and got a pretty good image in her head.
"Finally, I want you to open your eyes," Lucky ordered. Following the final order, Scootaloo opened her eyes to see that she was actually above the clouds. I'm flying, she thought, I'M FLYING.
"This is so cool!" Scootaloo exclaimed.
"See I told you," said the voice of Lucky, "Never doubt the power of imagination."
"You were right! I...uh..." looking around, Scootaloo couldn't seem to find Lucky, "Hey, where are you?"
"Your imagining the whole thing kid," Lucky reminded her, "We're still on the ground and I'm standing right next to you."
However, in reality Lucky was actually holding Scootaloo above the clouds with one hoof. There was a long moment of silence until Scootaloo had a question.
"Hey, what did you mean when you said imagination made you the flyer you are now?" she asked.
"Oh... that," Lucky said, "Well, you see, I was pretty much just like you kid. A weak flyer, and had jerks that insulted me about it. Until one day my mom decided to try the exact same thing, and told me exactly what I told you to do. After a little bit of flying around, she told me that 'if you can dream it, you can do it.'"
"Wow, your mom sounded pretty cool," said Scootaloo.
"Yeah...she was," Lucky said with a tone of sadness, "My dad was a total jerk though."
"Is that why you travel Equestria?" Scootaloo asked, "You dreamed of doing it therefore your, well, doing it."
"Actually no," Lucky answered, "It was the dream of my... uh... friend, and I was dragged along to follow it. After she... gave up, I decided to continue doing it, you know, seeing as how I already was."
After a little while longer, Lucky decided this went long enough and told Scootaloo to close her eyes again. Flying back down to where they were, Lucky gently put Scootaloo back on the ground and told her to open her eyes.
"Thanks for trying to make me feel better Mister Horseshoes," Scootaloo said with gratitude.
"Your welcome kid," Lucky said, "And also, call me Lucky, not Mister Horseshoes."
"Hey um..." Scootaloo spoke up, "You think we could do that flying thing another time?"
"I don't see why you need me to do it," Lucky responded, "I mean, you do realize you can imagine by yourself right?"
"Yeah," Scoots awnsered, "But it wont be the same without you holding me above the clouds."
"Not necessarily, I mean you could..." Lucky stopped after realization hit, "Wait, you knew I was holding you above the clouds?"
"Yeah, I'm not five you know," She told him, "I knew it from the start."
............
"You looked down didn't you kid." Lucky said as he figured it out.
"Well... maybe," Scootaloo said looking down. Chuckling for a bit, Lucky gave her the answer to her previous question.
"Alright kid," he said, "Maybe, Maybe we'll do it again before I leave."
"Really!" said an excited Scootaloo. Once Lucky nodded, she ran up and hugged him. Surprised at first, Lucky eventually hugged back.
"You're the best mister horse - I mean - Lucky," Scootaloo said, looking up at the stallion.
"Thanks ki - I mean - Thanks Scootaloo," Lucky said with a grin, "Now you better go and get that scooter fixed, 'cause I wanna see some awesome tricks before I leave."
Doing as she was told, Scootaloo starting heading toward her broken scooter. Lucky himself decided his work here was done and took off. Maybe sticking around for a few days wont hurt, he thought as he flew off into the night sky.
Author's Note
This took way longer than it should have. Lucky's thoughts about ditching the town and moving onto the next one were actually my thoughts on both this chapter and this story in general. Not joking, There were two different beginnings to this chapter, and I rejected both of them. But after realizing how important this chapter would be for the story, and wanting to have people love it, I decided to keep going.
If there is any problems with this story, let me know and I'll try to fix it for the next few chapters.

Chapter 2. Lucky to have you around part 1: Applejack's and Fluttershy's stories
Author's Note
Originally I was going to make this chapter one part, but thinking it would make the story to long I decided to turn it into two parts. Also, sorry if I screwed up on Applejack's accent.
Chapter 2. Lucky to have you around part 1: Applejack's and Fluttershy's stories
It has been three days since Lucky came to ponyville, and Rainbow Dash has never been more annoyed in her life. She was also surprised to see ponies actually talking to Lucky. Not telling him to go away, or yelling at him to shut up, but actually having conversations with him. Why do ponies like him Rainbow Dash thought. He's so annoying. At least my friends won't like him. Speaking of her friends, they were waiting for Rainbow Dash in sugar cube corner, where they decided to hang out for the day. When Rainbow flew inside the building, she saw her friends sitting in a booth talking.
Rainbow went over to them and asked, "Hey girls, whats up?"
All her friends responded with a hello. That is, except for Twilight who was busy reading a book, big surprise there. As Rainbow Dash sat down, she decided to ask her friends a question.
"Hey, what do you girls think about that Lucky Horseshoes guy?" she asked. "He's annoying right?"
Instead of answering right away by saying 'heck yeah', like she thought they would, her friends just gave worried glances at each other (except for Twilight and Pinkie Pie).
"Right?" Rainbow asked again.
"Well ya are right, we was annoying," said Applejack, making Rainbow feel happy. "At first."
Happiness was gone. "What do you mean 'at first'," Rainbow asked.
"Weelll," said a nervous Applejack. "It started the day after ya raced him."
It was time to get to work on Sweet Apple Acres, and Applejack was pulling a cart filled with empty baskets towards the apple orchard so she can do her favorite chore on the farm. That chore was apple bucking, and she loved every single moment of it. Once Applejack got to the trees, she took a few baskets from the cart, and strategically place them by a tree, knowing where the apples would land. As Applejack was ready to buck a tree, she suddenly heard a noise.
-CRUNCH-
"What in tar-nation?" looking up, Applejack saw Lucky Horseshoes eating one of the apples in the tree. Curious of how either pony didn't notice each other, and angry that somepony was eating her apples, she whistled to get Lucky's attention. Lucky looked down and started to talk.
"Oh, hey," he said, "Sorry I didn't see there, I was kinda thinking of...something. Hey why do you look angry?"
"'Cause ya'll are eatin' one of m'ah apples," Applejack responded, pointing at her favorite fruit. Lucky looked at his snack, then back at the pony. That's when he realized his mistake.
"Oh! Okay, I see the problem here," Lucky said, as he flew down. "Don't worry, I can get it back. I just need a gallon of prune juice, and directions to the nearest outhouse." His attempt at humor did not git rid of the glare Applejack was giving him.
"Yeah, I know. Potty humor isn't funny." Lucky turned around to see the cart of empty baskets, then back to the tree's filled with apples. He suddenly got an idea.
"Hang on," he said with hope, "I can still fix this." He started to grab the baskets that were in the cart, and started placing them by the trees. Then, he started hitting each tree as fast as he could. Almost like a pinball in it's machine. Once he was done, he stopped right in front of Applejack, with a stupid grin on his face and his forelegs opened wide. Applejack looked at the trees to see not a single apple fell off.
"And what the hay did that accomplish?" she asked.
"Wait for it," Lucky said. He then clopped his front hooves together, and every apple in the tree's fell into the placed baskets.
"Ta da! Now you got one less chore to do. How great is that?" he asked the very shocked, and very confused Applejack. "I'm gonna take that silence as a thank you."
Applejack was starting to see why Rainbow was mad about that race yesterday. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. "Ya'll might be the fastest apple bucker, but ah bet ya ain't the strongest."
"Ooh, that sounds like a challenge," Lucky excitedly said, "I accept." Applejack then led Lucky out of the orchard and into a field that had two high strikers. Curious on what was happening, Lucky asked a question.
"Other than to have fun, why do you have these?" he asked, "In fact why do you have two?"
"Because when ah use one," A.J. explained, "This happens." She bucked one of the high strikers and had the peg send the bell flying high into the sky. A few seconds past until it landed back on the ground.
"That was from years of apple bucking," she gloated, "Yer turn Horseshoes." Lucky then went over the the other high striker, and turned around with another stupid grin on his face. He then kicked it with one leg, and the peg sent the bell even higher into the sky.
"Years of apple bucking for you," he gloated back, "A week of kung-fu for me." He then saw the the look of shock on Applejack's face and started to feel bad. "But...I guess you gave it your best shot, so no shame in that," Lucky said, in attempt to make her feel better. A.J. lost the look of shock and replaced it with a look of confusion. Why is he making me feel better. she thought, and almost as if he read her mind, he explained himself.
"You know what my special talent is?" He asked Applejack, who shook her head. "It's being extremely lucky. Meaning I never lose, and I never get hurt." Almost as if Lucky asked for it, the bell suddenly landed on his head. "OW! Okay, I don't get too hurt," he said, rubbing his head in pain.
"Why are ya'll tellin me this?" A.J. asked, after she had finished laughing at Lucky's poor timing.
"I'm telling ya'll this because you shouldn't feel bad about losing to me," Lucky continued. "EVERYpony loses to me, and your no different." This made Applejack feel a little better, but another question popped into her head.
"Hey what were ya'll doing in that tree in first place," she asked. That's when Lucky remembered why he was here in the first place, and pulled out what looked like a small red book out of his satchel.
"I wanted to know about this towns history," He explained. "and I heard that your grandmother was around when Ponyville was founded. So I was kinda hoping that I could ask her how it happened."
"Well shoot," Applejack said, "why didn't ya just say so." She led Lucky into her house and asked her granny if she could tell him her story. She accepted, and sat down in her favorite rocking chair. As she told the story, Lucky was writing in a few important parts of the story on a blank page in his book. When Granny Smith was finished with her story, Lucky closed his book, and thanked both her and Applejack. Ya know, that lucky guy may be annoyin' Applejack thought as Lucky left. But ah guess he ain't so bad once ya get ta know him.
"So let me get this straight," Rainbow Dash said, in the present, "Your FRIENDS with this guy now."
"Ah wouldn't go that far," Applejack explained, "But he ain't so bad once ya get ta know him."
"I can't believe this!" Rainbow exclaimed, attracting a few stares, "Can you Fluttershy?"
She turned to her fellow pegasus to see her staring at the floor. Rainbow Dash couldn't tell if she was doing this because she was embarrassed by the stares, because she didn't want to intrude, or.....
"Right Fluttershy?" Rainbow asked again.
"Well," Fluttershy responded, "He did come earlier today to learn about the animals that inhabited Ponyville."
Fluttershy was leading Lucky into her cottage that day. She was so excited to talk about her little friends, but nervous that she was going to talk to a pony Rainbow hated. What if Rainbow Dash decides to visit and see's me talking to him Fluttershy worriedly thought, That won't end well.
"Ya know," Lucky said, breaking Fluttershy away from her worry, "We don't have to go into your cottage to talk. We could have done it by that tree where I asked you. Sorry again if I scared you."
"Oh, but we have to go to my cottage first," Fluttershy explained, "It's around the time where I feed the animals, and they'll get hungry if I take too long."
As they got to her cottage, Fluttershy opened the door and was shocked at what was happening in her home. All the animals were running and flying around like crazy. Unfortunately, whenever that happens they ignore Fluttershy completely. I'll never feed them if their acting like this she thought. She turned around, hoping Lucky would help her, but he was gone. That's when Fluttershy decided to get assertive.
"Uh, excuse me," she quietly said, "Could you all, um...maybe sit down. That is, if you don't mind of course." Her attempts at being assertive, SOMEHOW didn't work. She was about to give up when all of a sudden, they all stopped. Fluttershy turned around to see Lucky, who had replaced his pilot's hat and goggles with an army hat and a pair of sunglasses. She also noticed he was blowing into a small, thin, metal tube.
"ALL RIGHT YOU MAGGOTS!" Lucky yelled, "AND RABBITS, AND WEASELS, AND mice, and squirrels, and birds, and ferrets and....a bear? Really? You own a bear?"
Fluttershy answered that question with a sheepish grin and a shrug. Lucky turned his attention back at the animals and yelled, "HERE'S HOW WE'RE GOING TO DO THIS! THOSE WHO'S MAIN DIET CONSIST OF VEGETABLES, GO TO THE RIGHT! THOSE WHO EAT OTHER CRUD, TO THE LEFT! AND BEAR..."
Lucky got the bears attention, but not wanting to anger it, he calmly said, "You just wait until your served." Lucky than blew into metal tube again, and all the animals did exactly what he told them. Fluttershy got a few feeding dishes, and started to give the animals their respected foods. After that, she went over to Lucky, asking him what the metal tube was.
"This is a special kind of whistle," he explained, "It makes a noise that only animals can hear. You keep it if you want, just don't do the military sergeant thing. Because, ya know, that's my thing."
Fluttershy accepted the whistle. Suddenly she remembered why came over in the first place. "I almost forgot," she told Lucky, "You wanted to know about the animals in Ponyville."
She made, and poured, both of them tea, and was ready tell him everything. "You might want to write this down," she recommended.
"Don't worry, it'll all go in here," Lucky said, tapping on his head a few times, "Besides, I can't write anything down until Princess Twilight gives me back my journal."
"Until WHO gives him WHAT!" Rainbow yelled in the present, attracting more stares. That's when Twilight decided to join the conversation, putting her book down.
"Rainbow Dash," she said, "You're gonna drive everypony crazy if you keep yelling like..." Twilight stopped once she saw the angry glare pointed at her.
"What?" she asked.
