//-------------------------------------------------------// Equestria after Doomsday -by Spraycan112- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Normal Day //-------------------------------------------------------// A Normal Day It was a normal day in Ponyville. Ponies pranced back and forth through town, picking up goods from the market, conversing with friends, and sometimes heading to the castle in the middle of town where the princess and her friends resided. In his home, Star Goal practiced shooting soccer goals in his room, but found it incredibly easy because of his special talent, represented by the soccer cutie mark he had, and that he was doing it all alone. Star Goal was a pony with red fur that clashed with his light green mane and tail, which bothered his mother a lot, so he usually wore a purple baseball cap. Downstairs, his mother prepared lunch and his father read the newspaper, like they always did. It was a normal day in Ponyville. "Star Goal!" cried his mother, "can you water the flowers outside?" "Okay!" called back Star Goal. He galloped downstairs, almost bumping into his father. "Easy boy!" cried his father. "No galloping in the house!" "Sorry, I'm really active today." "Use that activeness for gardening instead of running" added his mother from the kitchen. Slowly, Star Goal went outside and after filling up the water can, he refreshed the daises and daffodils that his mother had planted four months ago during Winter Wrap-Up. The flowers seemed to be rejuvenated after a good dosing, and Star Goal contently headed back to the door. "Help!" A stallion with shaggy aquamarine fur, sunken-in brown eyes, and a black mane and tail stumbled upon Star Goal. "Do you need anything?" "The cure?" "What cure?" "Everyone in Manehattan's been turned into brainless, soulless beasts! All because of those aliens-" "Sir, are you clinically insane?" "Hush! They're here. Your precious princess hiding it, but let me tell you, they're all-" A gunshot rang in the air, and Star Goal as well as the stallion shrieked in surprise. Star Goal's parents ran outside and pulled their son away from the strange stallion. His older sister Barnacle Brush, a unicorn mare with light green fur and a pink mane and tail, was levitating his shotgun when she came close to them. "Ugh, it's you" she groaned when she glanced at the stallion. "You know him?" asked Star Goal. "Not really. But I know that he's crazy." Barnacle Brush shot another warning shot into the sky to scare off the stallion. "Scram!" The stallion whimpered, but stayed put. "The aliens will come for you too. They'll infect all of Equestria!" "GET AWAY FROM US." The shotgun was pointed into the sky again and shot. The stallion galloped away, his tail in between his hind legs. As he did, he still cried out warnings of an upending doom. Star Goal's mother turned to Barnacle Brush. "When did you get a shotgun?" "That's not important" Barnacle said quickly. "What is important is that you watch out for that guy." After Barnacle left for her home, Star Goal was ushered inside. While they ate lunch, Barnacle asked his parents, "do you think the stallion was crazy? Or do you believe him?" His mother and father glanced at each other for a while. Finally, his father answered. "No, we don't believe him. Just some crazy coot to ignore, Star Goal." "Ponyville not a place where crazy things happen," added his mother. "It's just a normal place with normal days like yesterday, and even if today was rather peculiar, tomorrow will be a normal day." Author's Note Hey! I am new to this site! I am extremely unfamiliar to fanfiction, but hopefully I will be a really good entertainer and writer! Okay, bye, and thanks for reading! //-------------------------------------------------------// Doomsday //-------------------------------------------------------// Doomsday "I hope my flowers won't drown" sighed Star Goal's mother, looking through the window, watching the pegasi in the night sky arrange the rain clouds for a thunderstorm, their headlights flashing in between the clouds. "If they do, all of my hard work will be for nothing." Star Goal ignored her going on how well and attentive she was caring for them, and instead reread another issue of Power Ponies. "Don't worry dear," replied her husband, his voice having an annoyed timbre, "I told you. I'll get you another bunch of flowers-" "But these are special flowers! They were expensive, they were from a very successful and well-trained breeder-" As his mother ranted on, Star Goal was gestured by his father to go to bed, and after a glance at the clock, Star Goal realized how late it was. He excused himself and galloped up to his bedroom. After washing up, Star Goal snuggled up in bed and tried to fall asleep. But just as he was about to, the scary stallion he had met that day appeared in his head, still braying and crying about aliens, his face frozen in horror. Was he just crazy? he thought in his bed. Star Goal was always rather superstitions, but only about ghosts and humans. Aliens seemed a bit too far fetched (although, his father did always criticize him for choosing to believe in humans but not aliens-"They're pretty much the same thing!", his father had said). BOOM! The first thunder clap was heard by Star Goal, waking him up more than his thoughts did. Realizing he didn't close the window, Star Goal slammed it shut, checking the skies despite himself. He only saw a couple of pegasi soaring through the air, making sure the storm went as planned and that no one was struck by lightning. Deciding that all was well in Ponyville, Star Goal slipped back into his bed and fell asleep. BOOM! Another earthshaking thunder clap roared outside of Star Goal's house, waking him up. He glanced at the clock above his door that read 2:40 A.M., and saw that outside was still dark. Thinking that his parents were already asleep, Star Goal took it upon himself to not alert them by getting a drink of water himself. Downstairs, Star Goal sipped his glass of water through a straw, watching the raindrops go plip plop on the window, and occasionally glancing at the clock. The third time he did look at it, it read 2:45 A.M. Unknown to Star Goal, a flying figure was staggering in the air. It was a pegasus mare, who had felt fine that morning, but now felt her head spinning, altering her eyesight so much that she crashed through the window Star Goal sat near. CRASH! The pegasus limply tried to stand herself up, but her legs felt like jello. Her blurry eyes looked up at a shocked Star Goal. "Oh my Celestia!" he exclaimed, rushing to the mare. "Ma'am, you okay?" "No" she asked, her voice hoarse. "Earlier I was, but now, I feel sick..." "That's because you've been flying in the rain. Here, I'll get my parents and they'll take you to the hospital, okay?" Weakly, the mare nodded. Ignoring his father's warnings earlier, Star Goal galloped upstairs to his parents room, wondering how they didn't awake to the loud crash when usually they were light sleepers. Almost breaking down the door, Star Goal trotted to his parents' bed, finding that it was empty. "Mom? Dad?" he asked quietly to himself and hopefully to his parents. There wasn't an answer. "MOM! DAD! WHERE ARE YOU?" he yelled. No response. Star Goal felt like he had to break down and sob, but he held back his tears. "Maybe, they went out." Star Goal said to comfort himself. "They'll come back. But now, the pegasus needs my help." Trotting back to the kitchen where the pegasus still laid on the floor, Star Goal prepared a meal of bread and water and arranged some pillows the pegasus could rest on. With his help, the mare walked to the pillows and rested there while eating bread and water while Star Goal sat near the broken window. No one was outside, but luckily it stopped raining. For a while, Star Goal sat there, waiting for his parents' arrival, while the pegasus slept. 5:30 A.M. The pegasus mare started to wheeze and cough violently, alerting Star Goal. "You okay?" asked Star Goal. She couldn't answer in between the coughing. Star Goal went to refill her water glass, and she drank it up violently, but couldn't stop. Her wings were upright, as if she was preparing to fly, her sliver fur was pointed and jagged, like a threatened cat's fur. The pegasus bent down, now crying in pain. "Are you okay?" Star Goal asked again, edging closer to her. When he did, he saw her eyes dilating and turning blood red. Her wings began to shed off feathers that fell to the ground, and her fur came off as well, revealing pink skin underneath. Her mane and tail fell off in huge chunks. This time, her moans turned into deep growls, and Star Goal stepped back. Suddenly, around her mouth flesh fell off, showing red muscle, blood, and the entirety of her teeth. Chunks of more flesh fell off her, revealing her rib cage, leg bones, and more. Star Goal tried to say something, but was too scared. Slowly, the new monster lifted up it's head and stared at Star Goal. It growled, and tried to pounce on Star Goal, who luckily ran out of the way, screaming in terror. As the thing chased him, Star Goal escaped to Barnacle Brush's house in the center of Ponyville, and knocked on her door frantically. "Barnacle! Barnacle!" he cried, constantly looking back behind him to make sure the monster wasn't behind him. "What?" Barnacle cried when she finally opened the door. "No time to explain now!" Star Goal ran into her home and slammed the door. He could hear the pegasus behind it, growling and scratching at it. "Who's that?" Barnacle asked. "Who? Barnacle, it's what! And to answer your question, I have no idea! All I know is that it's disgusting and wants to kill me!" Narrowing her eyes, Barnacle instructed Star Goal to stay in her room. She grabbed one of her two shotguns off of her living room wall and after loading it, told her brother to stay inside while she would go find help. After his sister left, Star Goal sealed the door shut and ran to her bedroom, peering out into the town square of Ponyville. He remembered experiencing strange events in Ponyville, from a swarm of parasites, to a giant three headed dog attacking, and even an Ursa Minor attack("It's a Ursa Minor, not a Ursa Major" he remembered hearing somepony say), but nothing like this. In the town square, several confused ponies glanced at Barnacle rushing to the castle where the princess resided with a shotgun, but shrugged it off. Then, a loud, high-pitched cacophony rang off, hurting everyone's ears, including Star Goal's. There was a puff of smoke that filled Ponyville, and once it had settled, they saw giant, sliver oval-shaped machines, with long octopus-like legs that speared their feet into the ground in order to move itself forward. In the center of its body was a glowing green orb that looked like an eye that glared at each pony that peered at it in fear. One by one, the machines came, each one with their own screechy noise. From the biggest ship, a jumbled up message in an unknown language roared at the ponies. Then, one of them shot a laser, and every pony ran in horror. BAM, BAM! Houses were being burnt up by the ships' lasers, and once in contact, ponies shriveled up into only ashes. Screams of countless of ponies were everywhere, and some were forced to separate from their families by being taken up by a beam of light shot out from the ships. Watching the terror below him, Star Goal suddenly realized that these were the aliens he was warned about. More clouds of smoke covered Ponyville, but luckily none sneaked in through Star Goal's window. He tried to rip himself away from the sight, but could not stop staring at the destruction and panicked ponies down below. All of the sudden, one of the ship's green eyes caught his attention. It was so unpleasant, for the ship's sight gave Star Goal a strange sensation of somepony pricking him with ten-thousand sharp needles, but like before, he couldn't look away. Star Goal could feel himself being levitated by an unknown force, but dropped suddenly. He hit his head hard on the floor and was knocked out cold.
