//-------------------------------------------------------// Feather by Feather -by YoungClosetBrony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Something New //-------------------------------------------------------// Something New Author's note: The first chapter of my first story. I am so scared right now O.O And that means.... *drumroll* CRITICISM IS VERY ACCEPTED!! Okay, I'm done now. Enjoy this train wreck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "FREEDOM!!" That was the sound anyone standing outside of Cloudsdale School of Advanced Flight would hear. Screams of joy from exhausted pegasi, fresh out of their final exams. Thunderhead came bursting through the great doors of the campus, and sailed off to find a home in a nearby town, Ponyville, where he had lived before school. It truly was a glorious sight. His black and grey mane, styled in a Mohawk for maximum aerodynamics, was flattened against his neck as he dove down. He knew the way well, for he had always gone to some school in Cloudsdale, be it grade school, junior high, and Sky-High school. But never again! He reached Ponyville in 5 minutes, but his landing was not very smooth, considering he had practically been going at terminal velocity from about 2 miles up. He did a faceplant, and onlookers cringed as he slid through the street on Sugarcube Corner. But he got up, dazed, sweaty, and most importantly, ALIVE. After dismissing help from bystanders ("No really, I'm fine!") which he kind of needed, ("Oh, you mean THAT scrape? That's nothing.") he made his way to his mother's house. "Mom? Hello? I pasMMMMMMFFFFF," Thunderhead ALMOST said, as he was swept up in a surprise hug. "Thunderhead!! Oh, I'm so proud! So you passed? YAY!! Now you don't have to be totally dependent on me! *ahem* Not that I would've taken care of you! Haha!" his mother said breathlessly. "Love you too!" he said. "Now rest up! Tomorrow, you must look for work!" Oh. That little detail. The one speck of dirt on his white coat. Looking for work might be hard, but then again, maybe not. He was a kick-ass flier, and were were tons of jobs of his forte! "Alright Mom. Goodnight," he said, and kissed her cheek. "Goodnight, Thundy." "MOM!! I am considered an adult now!" Thunderhead said, blushing profusely. "Oh, hush. I'm your mother." Yup, conversation over. ********************************************************************************************** The next day, as expected, Thunderhead went looking for work. He figured he would try the weather pegasi first. He walked over to the official building for weather pegasi, and found a perky pegasi with a wind Cutie Mark. "Hi! I'm Cloudy Day, how can I help you?" the mare said. "Yes, I'm looking for work." Thunderhead replied. "Wonderful! What kind of work are you looking for, Mister...." "Thunderhead. But you can can just call me Thunder." he replied with a slight smile. Cloudy Day blushed a little, and smiled as well. "I was thinking," Thunderhead said, snapping Cloudy Day back to reality, "that being a weather pegasi would be delightful." "I think there's an opening in the schedule! I'll look." Cloudy said happily. "Thanks!" Thunderhead said. "Yes... Yes... Well, there's an opening for Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Grandeur Heights Apartments." "Awesome! Can I have it?" Thunderhead asked excitedly. "Well, normally you would have to wait a few days to get approved, but I think I can do it right now," Cloudy Day said with a smile, "For a stallion like yourself." "That would be amazing! Thank you so much!" Thunderhead said, elated. "And by the way, I live on Featherby Lane, if you want to... Drop by." Thunderhead just blushed, and smiled awkwardly. "Uhhh.... Hehehe. Thanks." He turned and quickly trotted out. Okay, so that's the end of chapter one. What do you think? Leave a comment!
