Chapters Out in a sweet little suburbia, there lies a house that's home to a sweet little girl. And in that house, there was no one inside and yet the TV was on. On the TV, the show "Friendship Is Magic" was playing. The Mane 6 was entering the train after they just visited the Crystal and unbeknownst to all of them, Spike and their pet was hiding right ender their master seat and trying their hardest to not be notice. As any audience would wonder how their pets got there, the scene ends and the credits started rolling. As the credits were rolling, the channel announcer announces that they will find out what happened in next week's episode.
"No We Won't!" cried out the voice of a recognizable pony. "We already know what happened because of the previous episode" she proclaims, despite the TV announcer wouldn't be able to hear her.
Before the credits could end, the little mare got up from her seat and stamps on the TV remote's buttons. She brought up the TV guide and began looking for when the next episode will air on any other channels. When she found one, she had the displeasure of finding out that it was an episode that she had already seen before.
"Oooo... How long will they take until they make season 4. It seems like that they are taking forever" she yelled in annoyance.
Once she couldn't find any other shows she could watch instead, she felt like that she had enough television for one day and turned it off. She stretch out her legs and jump onto the top of the sofa, revealing it's Twilight Sparkle. Despite she seen a hundred times already, she look at the gander of the living room and amazed by how big it is compared to her. For the people who was living here, it wouldn't be so big. But because Twilight was a tiny, little toy, everything seems like a giant to her.
"Nice Work Rarity!" Twilight yelled out, not knowing where she might be. "The Living Looks Cleaner Then Ever."
"You thinks so Twilight?" Rarity replied, not knowing where she came from. As Twilight was looking around to see where she's at, she had a startling surprise when Rarity's head pop under the sofa which she was seating on. She was startled so much, Twilight fell back onto the sofa cushions.
"Sorry Twilight. I didn't mean to startle you" Rarity apologizes as she jump onto the sofa's back where Twilight was.
"No problem Rarity" Twilight replied in an embarrassing position. When she got back up, she says: "It's almost like the episode that I just watched."
"Oh I have seen it. I am quite curious how it ends. Will you tell me when the next episode comes up?"
"Sorry Rarity. They already shows what happened in a previous episode and they won't re-run it for quite a while."
"Oh Shoot! Oh! Pardon my language."
"No, that's ok. The people here says a lot more... colourful words then that."
"Really! Oh my..."
As the two ladies were having their pleasant conversation, they both spotted the nearby clock and realize how late it is.
"That is the time" Rarity says in surprise. "Amy is late coming home from school."
"We better let the others know what the time is" says Twilight. "Do you know where Applejack?"
"I've seen her exploring the closet when I check on the cleaning supplies" she replied.
"Ok, good. I go find Fluttershy in the back yard. You go find Applejack and we all meet up at Amy's room."
"Roger that" Rarity replied, thinking she could be funny. Both of them then jump off the couch and began running towards the simular direction. And then they split up. Twilight split left, towards the kitchen, and Rarity heads right, towards the closet.
Twilight ran to the back door in the kitchen. It was already slightly open, but Twilight push the door further to get through. She was out was on the first steps and began trying to spot her friend. The metal fences were too high for intruders to go over so she isn't in any of the neighbour's gardens. She couldn't see Fluttershy on the children swing-set or the big tree at the back of the yard. She was sure that Fluttershy wasn't in the shed at the side which has all of the intimidating gardening equipment. So the only place that's is the forest of grass below her. However, she wouldn't be able to see her if she's in there so Twilight had to yell:
"Fluttershy! Are You Out Here!?"
At first, Twilight didn't here Fluttershy calling back which worried her. But eventually, Fluttershy yelled back.
"I'm By The Tree!"
"Are You Sure!? I Can't See You!"
"I'm In The Grass Below The Tree!" Fluttershy reiterate.
Curious, Twilight head to where Fluttershy said she was. Someone had forgotten to mow the back yard so when Twilight jumped in, the grass was taller then her. Whenever Twilight had to go in the back yard, she always find it annoying to have to swim through the grass. However, it never takes to long to her.
When Twilight finally found Fluttershy under the shadow of the tree, she saw her just happily gazing up towards the branches. Looking as Fluttershy's gaze was a bit unnerving. When Twilight look up to see what she was looking at, she spotted a cacoon.
"Are you watching that cacoon Fluttershy?" Twilight enquire.
"Yep" she happily reply. "It's been a week since Mr Caterpillar went into his chrysalis stage. Any day now, he will burst from his cacoon and become a beautiful butterfly." As she said that, Fluttershy stood up and imagined that she was flying. But because they were toys, she couldn't fly like the Fluttershy in the show. Twilight thought she would be upset about that, but that fact never bothered her. Certainly better then Rainbow Dash.
When she went back down on her 4 legs, Twilight told Fluttershy:
"Come on. Amy's late from school so we better head back to her room so we're ready when she arrives."
"Really!" Fluttershy replied in surprise. "We wouldn't want that. Can we?"
"Ok then. So come on" Twilight told her before the both of them began running back to the house. As they were moving through the grass, Twilight could see how effortlessly Fluttershy was going through it. She know it was because she spent so much time in the garden, but she was still envious about it.
When Rarity entered the closet, she notice the all of the just that were snowing down. As that was bad enough for Rarity, as the dust was getting into her hair, but she also spotted all of the cobwebs around.
"Applejack!" Rarity cried out as she was protecting her mane. "If you decided to spend the whole day in here, you could at the very least tidy things up. Gives me less work for later at least"
"Oh! Good to see ya Rarity" shouted Applejack from on high. "You should see what I found up here. Not only did I find a box of old music, but also a mouse hole that leads straight up to May's mother's bedroom."
"Mice! AAHH! Rarity screamed in fear. "Hurry Up And Get Out Of Here!"
"Oh stop complaining" Applejack replied. "If ya can't stand being in here, then why not leave?"
"NO! Amy Could Be Home Any Minute Now So You Can Not Stay Here!"
"Then why didn't ya say so?"
Rarity, as the dust stopped snowing down, locked up so she could see Applejack. However, it was completely dark with the only light was coming from the other room. Se tried her best, but she was startled when she could see Applejack come down. More specifically, how she got down. She jumped onto a broom that was inside and slide down, Before she could hit the brush part of the broom, she jump off and perform a 740 degree somersault in the air before landing. The only thing that was missing was the Indiana Jones theme.
"Impressive" complimented Rarity.
"Yer welcome" replied Applejack, tipping her hat to the compliment. As the both of them was walking out of the closet, she told Rarity: "And if I find that mouse, I'll make sure he wouldn't bother ya."
"Thanks Applejack. The only thing that I ask for is to try."
Eventually, everyone began making their way to Amy's room. Unfortunately, everyone who was down stairs had to go have to get up the steps by the front door. Every time they have to climb up them, it feels like they were climbing up the mountain from Dragonshy (despite them knowing that they never actually climb up any mountain). However, as Twilight, Rarity and Fluttershy had to jump up the steps, Applejack have already found a way to get to the hand rail so she can run straight up.
Once everyone was up the stairs, it wasn't long to find Amy's room. When they inside, they all suddenly reminded of the pink wall paper in the room. It has all of the usual stuff: a bed, draws, a cupboard and a tiny TV with a built in DVD player. However, there's also a few things that can tall you what Amy's favourite franchise is. MLP bed sheets, DVDs of the show by the TV and a MLP poster on the wall.
Once they were all inside, they discover Pinkie Pie was already there and was watching intensely outside by the window. Everyone got up to her and Twilight Sparkle ask her:
"Hey Pinkie Pie. Have you seen the car come by at all?"
"No" Pinkie replied distressingly. "Amy should be home from school an hour ago. Why haven't they come back?"
"Don't worry Pinkie Pie" says Rarity, trying to comfort Pinkie. "I'm sure they will arrive eventually."
"Wait!" yelled Twilight as she realize something. "We're missing someone. Where's Rainbow Dash?"
Without even moving her gaze away from the street, Pinkie Pie replied: "She's still in Brad's room, as always. I heard music coming from there earlier... and explosions."
After giving a sigh in annoyance, Twilight told everyone: "I'll go and get her" and then she jumped down from the window and left the room.
When Twilight left the room, she went to room right next to Amy's. As apposed to any other door in the house, Brag's covered his door with posters like: keep out signs, warnings and a "gamer at work" poster. When Twilight enters Brad's room, Rainbow quickly spotted her.
"Oh! Hi Twilight, come on in. I was about to... Hey, what are you doing? HEY! LET GO!"
Moments later, Twilight was dragging Rainbow Dash out of the room by her tail. Despite her best effort and trying to grab on anything that she can, she couldn't stop Twilight from pulling her out of the room.
"Oh Come On Twilight!" pleaded Rainbow. "I was about to watch a Transformers movie." Twilight let go, trusting her to not to runaway, which she did. Rainbow then argues: "Do you know that the people who made Transformers also made us."
"I know Rainbow Dash. I already know that" replied Twilight. "Now come on and follow me to Amy's room. The rest are waiting there."
"But Brad's room is so much cooler" argued Rainbow Dash.
"Dash, we've been over this a million times. You're not Brad's toy, you are Amy's toy."
"Well I never wanted to be a toy" Dash stated as she cross her arms and sat way from Twilight.
Despite she knows how important Rainbow Dash's role is, Twilight can understand where she was coming from. In Equestria, she could do so much amazing things. But here, the only thing that she finds amusing is the stuff in Brad's room. Trying to be sympathetic, Twilight whispered softly in Rainbow's ears:
"Oh come on Rainbow Dash. We might not be in Equestria, but you are still the element of loyalty. You don't want to upset Amy... will you?"
Despite not wanting to show Twilight her face, Rainbow was effected by the words. Feeling down and looking sad. Begrudgingly, she turned back around and says:
"Fine. I'll come along."
As Twilight began smiling, Pinkie Pie interrupted them by yelling: "SHE'S HERE!" Once they heard her scream, Twilight and Rainbow began running towards the others.
Once they reached the others, Pinkie Pie was jumping up and down in excitement. As everyone was looking out, they all was watching the car that was parking in front the house. The car, that has Amy jumping up and down.
The car was black and could only fit around 4-5 people. The car was parked by the side walk because their house (or any house in the suburb) doesn't have a drive way or even a garage.
Once they were properly parked, Amy rushes out of the car. Amy was only in the 3rd grade so she wasn't that tall yet. The biggest distinctive feature that she has was her hair. Because like Pinkie, she has pink hair. All she has was a cute pink top and skirt. When she was out of the car, she grabbed her school bag and something else which the ponies couldn't see.
"Come on mom" pleaded Amy as she was (yet again like Pinkie) jumping up and down in excitement. "I really want to go inside to open my new toy."
"In just a moment Amy" relied her mother as she was getting out of the car. Amy's mother has long, brown hair and was wearing a pink top similarly to her daughter and long blue jeans. "Just let me get the shopping from the car."
The ponies were watching from the window and there was little chance of them being spotted. Despite that they can see them, they can't hear anything they can said. However, once Amy's mother open the boot of her car and got some of the shopping bags out, they all found out what they have been doing.
"Ooh! They all were just been shopping. That would make sense" stated Twilight.
"I do hope Amy's mother got some new clothes for herself. She defiantly deserve it" said Rarity.
As Amy's mother was grabbing the last of the shopping bags, Amy was waiting eagerly and impatiently at the front door. When all of them were looking at Amy, she could see that she was holding something but doesn't know what it is.
"I'm more concerned about what Amy is holdin'" stated Applejack.
"You don't think she got a new toy?" suggested Fluttershy.
"Who Cares" yell Pinkie as she makes her highest jump. "That only means more friends to have fun with" and everyone agrees with that.
Once the mother got the shopping to the door and then opened it, Amy rushes right inside. The ponies could even hear her rushing up stairs.
"Where do you think you're going young lady" yelled Amy's mother.
"To go to my room and open my new toy" Amy eagerly replied who haven't yet learned sarcasm yet.
"No, you have to come and help me with the shopping."
"But MOM! " moaned Amy.
"Amy... you're a good little girl, right?"
"... Yeah."
"so I'm asking... Will you help your mother to put the shopping away."
"Ok mom" replied Amy who lost her happiness.
"Once we are done, you can have one of the chocolate bars"
"YAY!" yelled Amy as she found her happiness again.
As the ponies was hearing the door shut and the people was moving towards the kitchen, Twilight got everyone's attention and told them:
"Alright ladies, this gives us a little bit of time to get into position. Does everyone know where they were this morning?"
Everyone replied: "yeah" nonchalantly. Some more nonchalantly then others and one not at all.
"Alright... now move" said Twilight Sparkle and everyone began getting into position.
They just pick a random spot on the carpet and just lay on their sides. It was more then likely that they weren't in the same position as Amy put them that morning, but she wouldn't notice. Now all that they have to do is to wait until Amy comes up and play with them. However, because she's helping her mother with the shopping, it would take a while for her to come up. As they were withstanding the long wait, some were getting anxious. Rainbow Dash thought she could sneak away and go back to Brad's room, but she did not go unspotted and was stared down by her friends into returning.
Eventually, Amy finally rushed up stairs and heading to her room. As the Mane 6 was hearing her footsteps, they were slowly getting excited to be played with by the person that makes them want to stay. But it comes to their surprise however, is that when she entered her room, Amy ran right past them and headed to the desk of draws by her bed. Lucky for them, she didn't accidently trode on any of them. They wouldn't die, because they're plastic, but it would heart.
When Amy got to her draws, everyone began hearing the sound of un-packaging. It was all familiar to them because it was the same sound that they heard like when Amy ripped open their package that they were in. They were all curious as to what she was opening, even trying to secretly to leaned up to have a better look, but they just couldn't see it.
Once Amy stopped, she began giggling very menacing. As she was about to get the toy out, her mother began yelling to her again.
"Amy... Food's Ready!"
"But Mom!" moaned Amy. "I Haven't Even Gotten To Play With My Toys Yet!"
"Ok! But If You Don't Eat This Apple Pie, I'm Just Gunna Have It For Myself!"
"What! Apple Pie!" yelled Amy in surprise. "NO! Wait Mom! I Want Apple Pie!" she replied as she rushes back out of the room.
Everyone heard Amy running back down stairs and eventually they can't anymore. Eventually, everyone slowly got up one by one and began wondering what was up the dresser. As they were slowly climb up, they were all nervous and hesitant as fear slowly crept into their mind.
Once they got up, they saw something that they could never imagined in a million years. She don't know if they should feel surprise, confused or frighten. All they could do was gasped upon seeing it and just stare.
What they see was... Princess Alicorn Twilight Sparkle... with the element of magic tiara. They all could see Twilight which Amy haven't got out of the box yet, but she has a pair of wings as well as a horn. Rarity and the rest of the Mane 5 looked at the Twilight that was right beside them... and then to the Twilight in front of them.
As for the Twilight that was still in the box, she began looking around and notice the ponies in front of her. She was expectantly became nervous from them watching her. But she became as surprise as they were when she saw Twilight in their group.
And you won't to know something. She was most surprise because... she did not had any wings.
Chapter 1- The Princess And The Paupers
The room was utterly silent. Everything that Twilight and her friends knew about themselves got turned upside down with the arrival of the new play mate. They looked at the half opened box with the new princess Twilight toy still inside, confused. The label on the box tells them that this was princess Twilight, but the Twilight that they all knew wasn't a princess and was standing right with them. It's like finding a clone and the original and don't know which ones which, even though there is a distinct feature that separated the both.
Questions was racing between all of them. Why is Twilight a princess? Is this new Twilight the same as the old one or is completely different? Will Amy play with this new Twilight instead of the one she had gotten use to? Or the question that worried the original Twilight the most: Will her friends prefer this new Twilight over her? She know it's an absurd idea, but fear has its ways to sneak into the mind.
The Twilight that was still didn't looked too comfortable either. All these strangers watching her and she has no way to move her limbs. She feels practically defenceless. When they see the pony trying to get out of her box, the Mane 6 realized that they need to help her. Even though she was still as speechless as the others, Applejack was the one who went over to help. It didn't took too long for her to get the Twilight out of her box.
Once Applejack undone the last plastic string that binds her, she then helped the Twilight to get down. Once she was on all four of her feet, princess Twilight then said "Thank you" to Applejack, like she was a lady of royalty. AJ just blushed as she didn't know how to feel what to feel.
AJ then went back over to her friends and the room returned to silence just like before. However this time, they have a better opportunity to speak. Everyone didn't know what to say as they didn't know how the other one will react. However, the princess Twilight toy was the first one to speak.
"My name is Princess Alicorn Twilight Sparkle and it's a pleasure to meet all of you " greeted the princess as she bow before them.
Seeing this seen only made the Mane 6 more confused as before. To them, she looked just like the Twilight that they always knew. But what she was doing wasn't what their Twilight would do. Bowing before them and acting like a royal (but very polite) princess. It was blowing their minds away.
Eventually, Rainbow Dash got up to Twilight's ear, the Twilight that she knew before now, and try to silently ask:
"What going on here Twilight?"
However, Rainbow's question wasn't silent enough and the princess Twilight over her. She stood back up in confusion and asked out loud:
"Wait... Twilight. Is that my first name and it isn't "Alicorn"?"
The Mane 6 was as bewildered as before, but it was different. Before, they were shocked because they were seeing a clone. But now, it was a like a funny error that just surprised them.
"No, it's not" replied Twilight to her duplicate's question. "What made you think it was "Alicorn"?"
The princess Twilight became slightly embarrassed. "Well... the box said..." she explained as she point towards the label on the box.
The box did say: "Princess Alicorn Twilight Sparkle" so they all could see how she could make that mistake. In fact, they find the mistake a little bit funny. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie was chuckling fairly loud, Fluttershy had to cover her mouth while the rest managed to hold it in.
When they could see that the princess was looking embarrassed about her misunderstanding, Twilight went over to her and gently states the best way that she can: "No. Your name is... I mean our... our names are... we both share the name "Twilight Sparkle.""
"Ok?..." replied the other Twilight who was as confused everyone else. But then, she asked a shocking question: "And my I ask what are your names?"
Everyone became relative surprised, shocked that this Twilight doesn't know who they are. When she see their faces, the other Twilight realized that they expected her to know them and felt guilty about it. The more that they talk to her, the more that they notice how different this Twilight was compared to their own. It was a sort of a relief, but it was still disheartening.
"You don't know who we are?" Applejack enquire.
Princess Twilight told them regrettably: "I'm sorry... but no."
The Mane 6 looked at each other as they were having a hard time to explain it to her. The original Twilight asked the other one: "Um... Princess Twilight, do you know what you are?"
"Oh! I know what I am" she replied. "I know that I am a toy and I'm really excited to bring joy to kids.... But I don't know who I am based on."
They were taken back by that remark. For them, it was the exact opposite. They knew who they were but they didn't realized that they were toys at first. They feel a strong urge to tell her who she is.
Twilight took her inexperience and confused double to the edge of the dresser a point to the poster on the other side from the room. "Look, do you see that poster?" she asked.
The Twilight with the wings looked up and see the poster. The poster shows the Mane 6 (with the Twilight without the wings) lining up for the photo, just like from the opening sentence, with the MLP: Friendship Is Magic logo over them.
As the new Twilight stares into the poster, the old Twilight explains to her:
"We are toys from the popular My Little Pony TV show. In it, we and along with our friends goes on magical adventures and discover the magic of friendship."
"Fascinating" she remarked as the gears in her head was turning and was realizing something magical. She looked at them, eager for an answer and asks: "So all of you... are my friends?"
The question made the Mane 6 looks at each other and began to wonder. Even if it was weird for them to see a Twilight acting like this, acting like a princess, but they could clearly see her as a separate being. And when they look at her and listen to her question, it was like that she was asking them to be her friend. And because they are just like their TV counterparts, they were more then happy to.
They all stood together strongly, look at each other with a strong conformation before they turn with happy faces and Twilight proudly tells her: "Yes... we are."
Before the new Twilight arrived today, she thought she would live her life as a toy with knowing who she really is or where she is from. And not only did she already fulfilled her dream, but also found friends who was happy to be with her, even though they already has a Twilight in their group. Saying that she was overjoyed was an understatement. And even though she was a plastic figure, it felt like there were tears pouring down her face.
And then her new/old friends walked up to her and happily introducing themselves.
"HI! My name is Pinkie Pie and I am your bestest friend."
"Howdy Twilight. The name's Applejack and I'm honestly happy to meet you."
"Hello. My name is Flutter... Fluttershy... My name is Fluttershy."
"What's up. The name is Rainbow Dash and I'll the AWESOMEST friend you will ever have."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, your highness. My name is Rarity and if you ever in need of a dress, I will be happy to make you one."
Even though she was confused and not sure rather or not she was meeting them for the first time, the new Twilight was just happy to be surrounded by ponies who love her. And when the new one see the old one, the old Twilight just shrugged and tells her: "I guess you already know who I am." And even though it wasn't hilarious, they find it funny enough to have a lough about.
However, once they had their little chuckle, she regret it, but Applejack then asked the question: "I'm sorry to ruin this, yall, but is anybody still weirded out by how new Twilight have wings?"
The happy mood was gone and the awkward, uncomfortable air had returned. Everyone looked at Alicorn wings that was on Twilight. Pinkie tried to lighten the mood, but just made things a bit more awkward.
"Yeah, it's really weird. These two looks exactly alike. Same mane, same colour, same horn, same cutie mark. The only thing that's different is that one has wings."
As everyone became confused again, princess Twilight assumed the problem came from her.
"Wait! Your Twilight and the Twilight on the poster doesn't have wings. Am I... Am I not supposed to have these?" she asked as she looks at her own wings.
Before, she could panic, Twilight quickly got up to her alicorn self and explains to her: "No! No! You are mean to have her wings." However, while it didn't stopped her other self from panicking, Twilight have just gotten the suspicion from her friends. The way that she said it so fast and without stuttering, it was almost as if she knew something. Something that she didn't felt the need to tell her friends. And unfortunately, Twilight did kept it as a secret. However, even though she was hesitant for her to admit, it wasn't impossible for her to say it.
Unicorn Twilight explains to all of them: "You see... in the show, "Twilight" was tested by Princess Celestia that involves finishing Starswirl's unfinished spell. She passed and after all the things she done, she was crowned as a princess."
After everyone heard the explanation, a lot of questions has been answered to them. They can understand why they made a Princess Twilight. However, doubt grew stronger with Twilight's friend.
"Hang On!" yelled Rainbow Dash. "You knew all this time and you haven't told us?"
The Mane 5 slowly becomes upset at Twilight as they began to glare at her. Unintentionally, Princess Twilight was in the view at their glare but knows they aren't looking at her. All she could do was to look at her senior and hoped she can get out of this.
Twilight was distressed at first as she was seeing her friends being crossed at her. However, when she thought of her reason for not telling them, she grew unintentionally angry.
"Hey! Don't look at me. I asked you all several times to come and watch the show with me, but you all has happy to do your own thing."
At first, her first excuse didn't changed their minds. She sounded like she was winging that her friends wouldn't come and hang with her, It was a fair reason, but not enough to swing their moods. However, her next argument does have a stronger impact.
"You all no longer interested in what you were like in Equestria. You didn't want to see how well you gotten or remember the stuff we thought we had. I thought you wouldn't cared so that's why I didn't tell you."
Twilight's words ring truth to them. Since they realized that they are toys and found new ways to entertain themselves, they have become distant from the world they thought they came from. Even though they know it was all made up, they still cherish their false memories as they still bring great happiness to them. Anger left all of their faces as they feel ashamed for themselves
"Sorry Twilight. Yer right as always" apologized Applejack for herself and for the rest of them.
"No, I should apologized to" Twilight retorted. "This was something that I should have told you. I had..."
But then, Princess Twilight stopped her twin before she could feel even more guilty for her self. "Come now, no one could predict something like this could happen so you all shouldn't blame yourselves or each other. "
the princess's words helped save everyone from their self pity, even they still found it a little weird that Twilight would say those words so elegantly and lady like. It even spark a bit of envy from the original Twilight. However, she hadn't yet realized it and says:
"Thanks... me."
However, as they were embracing this happy moment, Pinkie Pie's head pop up as if she had realized something.
"Hang on!" she shouted, getting the intentions of her friends. "Can you guys hear that?"
For them, they only hear to tall silence. However, all the senior toys who were there quickly remembers that Pinkie was the best listener in the group as she can hear many loud sounds from across the house. Down stair, Amy had happily finished her pie and she was eager to return to her toys. She thanked her mother for how delicious the pie was and then began running to their room.
When Amy made it to and start climbing the stairs, all the little pony toys began to notice the loud footsteps to notice. With wicked fast reflexes, everyone rushed back to the places where they lied.
Twilight stayed behind so she can tell her confused friend what she needs to do.
"Quick! Get back into your box!"
"What! Why!?"
"Amy haven't got you out of your box yet and she might get suspicious if your somewhere else!"
"Ok. But how can we tie me up in time?"
"Just get into place and she would think she would have done it herself."
With quick and loud steps at the door, they no long had any more time to talk. The princess did what her non-princess self told her to do. She back into her box, got into her plastic frame and ignore the plastic wire. While she was doing that, the regular Twilight reunite with her friends on the floor. She then lay down beside them on the floor, anxious to see how things will play out.
Amy bust open her door with excitement, see her new toy which she had long waited to play with. She rushed over and got the Twilight out of her casing, forgetting that she had untied her, like what Twilight had predicted. Her hands tremble as she holds her Princess Twilight toy in front of her face.
On the ground, all the ponies could only see was Amy's back just like before. They were worried for their new/old friend as this will be her first experience being played with. Pinkie, on the other hand, just wants Amy to turn around and play with them as well.
Eventually, Amy turned around with the princess in hand, kneeled down and collected her scattered toys along with a few other things. She picked up Twilight, the others and a couple of books and began placing them in the scene that she had imagined. She grouped the Mane 5 together and was facing towards the Twilight with the wings who was standing on top a pile of books. However, Amy had placed her old Twilight somewhere towards under her bed so she wouldn't get in the way of her other toys.
Twilight was left utterly surprised as she could see Amy had discarded her and placed her by the side. Amy was too engross into playing with her other toys to notice that Twilight had silently gotten up.
"Ta Da Da DA!" Amy sounded, pretending she was playing a trumpet. She then pretend to be a royal announcer and cried out: "Hear Ye! hear Ye! Introducing Princess Twilight Sparkle!"
As Amy imagined the Twilight doll she was playing with had appeared, she grabbed the Mane 5 one at a time and making them jump up and down.
"Yay Princess Twilight!" she said, imagining that what her friends would say.
Amy then grabbed her princess Twilight and says: "No! No! No! This wouldn't do. The only party I want is the one that was made by my very best friend: Pinkie Pie."
"You called princess?" Amy said, imitating Pinkie Pie as she moves her closer to Twilight.
"I want you to make me the most awesomest party that you can imagined."
"Did someone said awesome?" Amy said as now imitating Rainbow Dash.
The Twilight that Amy had forgotten just stood there and looked. Watching the scene which Amy had imagined. She also took president in how Amy was betraying herself as the new princess. She was see the new Twilight as nothing more but a princess, making her posh and having her friends to make her a party.
These were the questions that were going through Twilight's head: "Is this how she's going to see me as now? Since Amy has her new Princess Twilight toy, she never be played with again? Will Amy replaced me with her?" However, the question that she dreaded most of all, the question that shook Twilight to her very core is: "Amy, who loved me since the day that she brought me, found it so easily to forget me in favour of her new toy, will my friends replace me as well?"
As Amy was too preoccupied with her other toys at the moment, Fluttershy took a chance and tried to see how the Twilight that she always knew was doing. But when she see Twilight, she saw her with the saddest face that she had ever seen. She then watches Twilight as could no longer be there any long and disappears in the show of Amy's bed. Before Fluttershy could even thought about sneaking away, she was quickly pulled away by Amy's giant hand and could do nothing for her saddened friend.
Chapter 2- Every Home Is A Kingdom
Children always love their toys when they're young. As they travel to the worlds of imagination, they will form a bond, a connection that is so strong that they will carry it to the years that come. That why when the children grow up and no longer play with the toys that they love, some will find it reluctant to give or throw them away and others will feel pity as they are too old to play with toys.
But right now, Amy was enjoying and loving her pony toys through out the night. She played with them till her calls her for bed and held them closely as she slept through the night. And during that time, Princess Twilight finally realized what being a toy feels like; keeping the person who loves her feel happy.
But something was different about this night. Something was different that made some of the toy ponies felt it was hard to fall asleep. They were missing a friend.
While she prefer the older brother, Rainbow Dash was snoring away as rest against Amy. Meanwhile, the rest of the Mane 6 looked on top of the bed to look out to find the Twilight that they knew for ages. They never saw her again when Amy played with them and Amy picked the newly arrived princess to sleep with them. They grew ill from worry as they are imagining what Twilight would be feeling right now. But the lights from the outside street lamps was bright enough to make them see any better and none could leave Amy's room because Amy's mother has shut the door. Applejack would have opened the door if the handle was a leaver and not a knob. She always have trouble opening those. But despite their best efforts, they couldn't find their friend. Despite how much they didn't like it, they have no other choice to look for Twilight in the morning.
And when morning came, he Mane 6 was woken when Amy's alarm clock rang out. After she was woken up by being startled, Amy hits her clock to shut it up and jump out of bed to put on some clothes to wear. Aside from Princess Twilight, everyone thought this was their chance to slip away. However, Amy was took quick as she put on the clothes that she had on yesterday. She grabbed her toys and took them down stairs to the kitchen which her mother already prepared her a healthy cereal. Once she was done, Amy rushed to the living room to play with her toys some more.
But after a few minutes, her fun came to a halt when her mother yelled at her by the door: "Amy! It's Time To Go To School!"
After she moaned, Amy reluctantly replied: "Ok Mom! But Can I Bring My Toys To School!?"
"Sorry Amy, But You Can't! You Can Play With Your Toys Once You Come Home From School!"
She left her toys on the ground, stomped her foot and said out load: "Shoot!" She then run to her mother and she was handed her school bag. And once Amy and her mother left through the front door, it was finally time for the toys to come out and move on their own.
As they were stretching their joints for being frozen for too long, Pinkie moaned out load: "Oh Man!" as Amy can no longer play with them. Once everyone was done stretching, they saw Pinkie Pie rushed to the window. Once everyone catched up to her, they all see Amy was driven away and was off to school. "Now I have to wait another 6 hours for Amy to come home again" Pinkie stated depressingly.
Princess Twilight then got Applejack's attention as she had a question that was confusing her. "Where is Amy going?" she asked.
"Oh! Um... Amy has to go to school everyday so she can learn stuff." Applejack replied.
"I see. But do also know why Amy's mother won't allow us to come along?" the princess soon asked.
As everyone was overhearing the conversation, Rarity was the one who replied: "We are not quite sure. Every time that she asks, her mothers always turns her down."
Princess Twilight was slightly distraught as her question wasn't answered. However, she turn around and says: "Well I'm sure that she has a pretty good reason."
Rainbow then commented as she and Pinkie was heading to the stair: "Oh well. At least Its gives me some free time to hang out in Brad's room."
"And Where Do You Think Your Going!" Rarity shouted at them to get them to stop. As Rainbow and Pinkie turned around in confusion, Rarity then explains to the two of them: "Are you now going to help us to find Twilight?"
Realization rushed through them as they remember the friend that they temporally forgotten. They haven't forgotten Twilight exactly. It must have slipped their mind as Amy had been playing with them longer then she usually would. In fact, as they look at Princess Twilight to remind themselves that she isn't the usual Twilight that they know, they began thinking that she was lonely and unwanted.
"Oh my gosh! You're right!" replied Pinkie as she realized how insensitive she was. "We have to find Twilight."
Rainbow Dash, who haven't forgotten her loyal spirit, loudly and proudly says: "I can hang out in Brad's room later. Right now, I have to make sure that my friend is alright."
As Rainbow's words made everyone else be proud of her and make them pumped, and voice called out to them and it wasn't too far away. "A which friend is that Rainbow Dash?"
Everyone instantly recognizes the voice but they did not expect to hear it, or at least so soon. They looked towards where the voice came from and to their happily amazement, they saw Twilight.
"Twilight!" everyone cried out before they all rushes to her side. The one who didn't gone to Twilight right away was the alicorn version of her felt a little mixed when everyone else was worried about their Twilight. Nevertheless, she still went with the others because even she was worried.
Everyone surrounded the old Twilight and was bombarding her with questions. They were asking if she was feeling ok, saying that they were worried and even Pinkie apologized that she forgot about her for a second. Twilight calmed everyone down so she can have chance to explain things to her friends.
"Calm Down Everypony!" she pleaded. "I'm fine. So what if Amy doesn't want to play with me anymore. In fact, it gives me extra time to do whatever I want."
"Lucky!" Rainbow moaned who was feeling mighty jealous.
After everyone had a quick chuckle at Rainbow Dash's expense, Twilight then told everyone: "As long as you guys are still my friends, then everything is ok."
After everyone said that they haven't thought on replacing her, Twilight notice... herself who was looking like she was left out. She went over to her and told her princess clone: "Don't worry. Just because there is two of us, doesn't you are not apart of our group."
Moved, the princess curtsied her none royal self and gratefully told: "Thank you for your kind words. I am sincerely humbled."
Despite her words sounded so sweet in polite, they had the unfortunate side effect on rubbing Twilight and some of the others the wrong way. Even though she is her own separate pony and can do whatever she likes, Twilight was growing annoyed to see her princess self act more humbled then she is. Twilight worked well to hide her growing jealousy from her friends. While everyone else also felt a little weird by this, Rarity was actually quite happy to see "a princess" acts this way.
After a quick look at the clock, Unicorn Twilight then asked out load: "we've got plenty of time before Amy gets home. Princess, you do want a quick tour around the house?"
Princess Twilight replied: "That would be really helpful and a appreciated."
As everyone else looked ready to give the princess a tour. (Unicorn) Twilight turn toward Rarity and Applejack and asked them: "Which one of you like to be the tour guide?"
Rarity and Applejack and looked at each other with confusion before they looked back at Twilight and asked: "Why us?" in unison.
"Because the both you are the ones who explored the house the most" Twilight explains.
When she put it like that, they could see who she would expect them to be the tour guides. They actually are quite excited to be tour guides once they began to think about it. However, Rarity and AJ spotted how eager the other one wanted to be the guide and doesn't want to start a fight over it. After a subtle wink to one another, both of them agreed that they both will be the guide.
Once that was settled, everyone began following Applejack and Rarity who began their tour around the house. Since they were already there, they began with the living room.
"This here is the living room" Rarity pleasantly stated as she swept her hoof around to help highlight the room. Princess Twilight notice a reasonably large book case with a vast selection of reading material. She also notice a desk with a computer sitting on top of it and her curiosity was peaking to see what it does. "The people often come to this room to relax and unwind from a hard day of work.
As they were coming up to the sofa and the TV, Rarity asked unicorn Twilight: "Do you want to explain this part Twilight?"
When she realize what she was talking about, Twilight happily replied: "Sure." Not only was she was well suited with the television and how to operate it, but Twilight was actually a bit eager to talk about. She thought it could be her chance to show "the newbie" what she knows.
Following Twilight's lead, everyone jumped onto the coffee table and see how huge and mystifying the TV is. The princess let her fascination to get the better of her and was letting her jaw drop. When she notice what she was doing and see her friends smirking at her, Princess Twilight felt so embarrassed that she tried to hide her face. The old Twilight got her hoofs down and gently tells her: "It's ok."
Twilight then show her the large, blank screen and explains to her: "This here is called a television, or a TV for short. It show what is going on in the world." Twilight notice the TV remote right beside her and jumps on the power button. The TV light up and began making colours and sounds which took the princess breath away. It was fortunate for Twilight that the TV was left on the local news network when the television was turned of. As Princess was left amazed to see more people inside a relative small box for the humans, normal Twilight explains to her: "This here is the news channel where people tells you about current events."
"But..." she added eagerly as she began jumping around the remote. The television flickers as it was jumping frequencies and began showing even more channels. "If you press these buttons, it will take you to different channels that are just as amazing" explains Twilight as she was jumping up and down the remote. Even her other friends were left in the wonder as all of them began saying: "Oooh. Ahhh!" in amazement. "Sports channels, movies and cartoon channels, a few home shopping channels" Twilight added.
"But my favourite channel..." Twilight said as she jumped on the last button before jumping off. When she landed on her feet, Twilight proudly proclaims: "...Is The Hub!" as the Hub logo appeared on the tele'. As Princess Twilight was left to wonder why her counterpart picked this channel to be her favourite, she was surprised where an advert for the My Little Pony popped up and was mesmerised by the rainbow of colours. She was left utterly speechless as she began seeing ponies that looked just like her inside the screen and was in a marvellous looking town. Regular Twilight told her: "I like this channel because it shows My Little Pony, the show were we all came from."
As Twilight was feeling special about herself as she even amazed her friends, the channel then said something that ruined her mood. "And don't forget to buy the new Princess Twilight toy at your local Toys R' Us. Follow Twilight Sparkle as she will take you on royal adventures and..." Was all the TV said before Twilight jump on the remote one last time to turn off the TV. As everyone was upset and moaned as they didn't get to finish watching the advert, Twilight got their attention and tells them: "Come along girls. We still got a lot more of the house to see." Despite still feeling a little disappointed, everyone resummoned the tour and carry on showing what the house has to offer.
Their next stop was the kitchen and everyone could see how well kept and tidy the room is. "And this place is called the kitchen" Rarity explains. "As you can no doubt can tell from earlier, this is the place where eats and cooks their food."
As they a they were walking on the smooth and reflective tiles, alicorn Twilight spotted the giant, white fridge. "And what, pray tell, is that Rarity?" she asked curiously.
"Oh! Um... That is a fridge your highness" Rarity answered. "That is the place where they want to keep all their food cold. Whenever it was running low, Amy's mother have to get more shopping from the store."
"The Store!?" the princess responded. "So she also keep toys in there?"
"No dear." Rarity shamefully replied. "Stores can sell more then just toys."
"Oh!" Twilight responded as she realized that she said something silly. As he became red, she told everyone: "Carry on."
When everyone was traveling across the kitchen counter and Rarity was explaining stuff like the sink and eating utensils, the princess's gaze drifted away notice the stunning looking garden out of the window. The tour came to a halt when everyone notice the princess running up the window and look out to see the vast green wonder.
"This is the garden your highness, where Amy will sometimes come out and play." Rarity explains as she was seeing how she was so curious about it. But when Rarity see that she was still fixed on the garden, she worryingly tells: "My apologizes princess, but the grass is just too tall that you might got lost in. If you want to go out later, you better ask Fluttershy to be your guide."
The Princess then turn to see Fluttershy who was next to her and says: "Would you really do that Fluttershy?"
"It would be my pleasure your highness" Fluttershy cheerfully replies. "The garden as so much wonderful flowers and adorable little critters. Sometimes, if you're lucky, one of the neighbour's pets would come around and you can get to play with them."
"That sounds wonderful" the princess remarked.
Fluttershy and the princess shared bright, happy smiles to one another that were so bright and cheery, that it light up the whole room. Some of the ponies were starting to think that they look cute together along with their smiles. However, Applejack unfortunately interrupted the moment and says:
"I hate to ruin this happy moment, but do you think we should be taking this tour upstairs?"
"Very well" Rarity replied. "There isn't much more to talk about the downstairs anyway." As she turn around and going back where everyone came, she told everyone: "Come along now. The stairs is back this way."
Everyone else started moaning as they didn't like the idea that they have to back tracked. That is until Applejack stepped up and says: "Hang-on Rarity! We don't have to take the stairs."
"What!" Rarity responded as she turn around in surprised.
Everyone's attention was on Applejack was looked mighty excited to tell everyone something. "I know a fast shortcut that leads straight to the bedrooms."
"Really!" Rarity replied which AJ has now got everyone's intrigued. "And where is this shortcut" she asks but soon notice a large grin on Applejack's face. She soon realized what Applejack was on about and began screaming: "Oh No, No, No, No, No! We are not going up through THAT!"
However, despite her protest, everyone was just too intrigued to not kind out what she was on about and began following her lead. Despite how appalled and disturbed she was, Rarity reluctantly follows them.
Applejack escorted everyone to the closet. As Applejack was jumping up some furniture to get to the door handle, everyone else was trying to figure out why she had brought them there. When she finally got it open, everyone look into the dark, shadowy closet. Nobody could make out heads or tails because of the lack of light, that is until Applejack jumped even higher and managed to pulled down the light switch that brought out the light. Finally they could see the hanging coats and how tight the space is. Applejack jumped and tells them: "Come this way." She then took them to the corner of a closet where they find a hole in the wall.
"Oooh! What's that?" Pinkie asked, immensely curious.
"It's a hole which I reckon some of the mice had made a long time ago." Applejack replied. "I found it a quite awhile ago and it leads you to different parts of the house. I already discovered that it can lead you to the basement and the bathroom upstairs."
As everyone was marvelled by Applejack's discovery, the only one who was not impressed was Rarity. In fact, she was more disturbed then happy. "MICE! Do you mean to tell there is disease carrying rodents running around the house!? EEEWW! I don't think we should go in there."
However, nobody heard Rarity's complaining and entered inside the mouse hole along with Applejack. Rarity hesitantly got a little bit closer, seeing if she was brave enough and to through it herself. But she unfortunately wasn't courageous the enter a place she never been to and fearing that it was filled with cobwebs and scary spiders. However, she was just as afraid to not be with her friends and continually trying to push herself inside. Rarity made a loud enough fuss about it that she heard Applejack yelling out of the hole.
"Rarity! If You Really Don't Like It, Then Take The Blimmin Stair! " yelled the infuriated and echoing voice.
"THANK YOU!" replied Rarity who was relived that she didn't have to go through the hole.
"NO PROBLEM!" Applejack replied.
As Rarity was running around and heading for the stairs, everyone else had already made it up the house. They were climbing support beams and walking up planks of wood. They were finding it a lot easier and a lot less stress inducing then having to climb up the steps. AJ constantly yelling out to see if everybody is ok or haven't gotten lost. Fortunately, nobody didn't and they were all climbing up with much ease.
Eventually, everyone made it up and they all found a second hole. Once they all exited the hole, they were all greeted with welcoming sunlight and a nicely polished bathroom. The hole was right behind the toilet seat and it wasn't all that easy to find.
"Applejack! That Was Amazing!" complimented Rainbow Dash which everyone else quickly agreed with.
"Oh Shucks. It wasn't all that special." replied a modest Applejack. "It was just a hole that I found."
"Don't be modest Applejack" Princess Twilight rebutted. "If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't know which way we should be going."
"Why thank you princess" she replied as she tipped her hat for the compliment.
As the tour continue on and on, every pony seems to be getting use to the new Twilight. Her gentle, kind and caring persona seems to be helping her to make these new friendships even stronger. However, for the old Twilight, she is making these friendships a little too fast for her liking. Even though she has only been there for a day, everyone has already been promising her favours and guidance. She also didn't like it that everyone is calling her "princess" or "her highness" she is obviously is not a real princess. The jealousy inside Twilight stomach was beginning to boil, she tempted to decide that she does not like this "new Twilight Sparkle." Twilight soon spotted that she was getting angry and try as hard as she might to not let that anger to take control of her.
After she calmed down, Twilight told everybody: "Come on girls, we need to tidy ourselves up or else Rarity will explode when she sees us."
It was then that everyone realize the they were all dusty and have some strands of cobwebs stuck to them. They all just chuckle when they see each other and hop into the nearby sink to clean themselves. They only use drops of water that was leaking out of the faucet to wash themselves so they wouldn't be too wet when they meet up with Rarity. When Rarity finally met up with them, they were all sparklingly clean. They didn't do a good job on hiding their grins though as Rarity soon realize that they was pulling something over her but didn't know what. She eventually gave up and everyone finally carried on with the tour.
Everyone left the bathroom and entered the long hallway in the second floor. Aside from the room they have just came from, Princess Twilight spotted on door on her right and two other doors on her left. She could recognize one door on the left as that was Amy's room. However, the door next to Amy's was completely covered by a poster that says: "KEEP OUT! GAMER AT WORK! " It was really hard for her to look away.
"And these are the bed rooms where the people sleep at night" stated Applejack as it was now her turn to explain things. "Amy's room is on the left there and Amy's mom's room is over there right."
"Ok, but who does that room belong to?" enquired Princess Twilight as she point towards the door that she couldn't look away.
"Oh! That is Brad's room" AJ replied who felt stupid for not bringing it up.
Left with more questions, the princess then asked: "And who is Brad?"
"WHO IS BRAD!" interjected Rainbow Dash who felt appalled that someone even asks that question.
Seeing where this is heads, Applejack just sat back and says: "Here we go."
Dash was jumpy and excited when she states: "Brad is thee most AWESOME guy you will ever meet. Whatever you thinks is awesome, he does it. Action movies, action games, action comic books. Not only is he really amazing on his skateboard, but he can also ride skates, bikes and can perform moves with a scooter. And he is also a part time running back for his school football team and he is the star player. Everybody loves him and that's why he is thee definition... of awesome."
As she was catching her breath, Rainbow Dash look at see how impressed that she made her friends. The only one who was intrigued however was Pinkie Pie and Princess Twilight. The others were more indifferent then anything else and the only reason they were smiling was because they were smirking at her (except for Fluttershy. Everything Rainbow just said went over her head). The one that she found the most annoying was Applejack's as her grin was telling her that she forgot to tell something important.
"WHAT!" Rainbow irritatedly yelled.
AJ smugly replied: "You forgot to mention that he is also Amy's brother."
Rainbow Dash facepalmed herself. She personally didn't think that it really matters, but she still felt that she got it wrong and she does know it is really important. " Yeah, well... that only means that Amy is sort of cool too." she tells them, hoping it would save some of her dignity.
As everyone just chuckle and shook their heads at Rainbow, Rarity says to Princess Twilight: "Well, that is more or less the house. What do you think of your new home?"
"I think it's wonderful" she replied. As everyone's attention is all on her, she tells them: "And it's wonderful that I made suck lovely friends. I know I have just only came her, but you all have been so kind to me. I just... I love you all so much."
Everyone began to blush because of her compliment. Even if they find it funny if they interpreted it literally, they were all touched by her kind words.
The princess then turn to and got Twilight attention. " And um... me..." she said hesitantly. Before she said anything else, she thought long and hard to what she is gunna say to herself. She felt that Twilight was growing more and more envious of her and was afraid that if she said something wrong, she might make things worse.
The regular Twilight also notice that she was having real difficulty on deciding what she was gunna say to her. She realized that she want to say something nice to her and she felt sorry for making her think that she has to do it. At that moment, Twilight found it really hard to hate her.
Finally, when the mood was silent, the princess walked up to Twilight, place her hoof on Twilight's shoulder a says: "Twilight... you are the one who I want to be best friends with."
Everyone else was quiet as they were all waiting for Twilight's response. Twilight herself blushed and felt slightly surprised by those words. "Thank you" she replied before both Twilights began to hug themselves. But away from everyone's gave, unicorn Twilight shed a single tear because she hate herself... because she hates herself.
