//-------------------------------------------------------// The History of the Phoenix -by The Mare in the Moon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 I pound my hoof on the table, and all of the plates of food in front of me jump up in the air "StarSwirl, this is unacceptable! When you thought Luna would betray me, we made a plan, and I believed that you were the smartest stallion in the kingdom, and that you would never deceive me." StarSwirl the Bearded starts to counter Celestia's claims "Wait just a minute...." But Celestia raises her hoof and silences him, and then takes a sip of wine from a crystal glass. Knowing that he won't get a chance to speak, StarSwirl the Bearded starts to levitate grapes into his mouth "You said that I would be able to send Luna anything at will. Now you are saying that it isn't possible to do so. I have seen her in my dreams, she watches me, and she doesn't say a word. It isn't just a dream, each time I see her, I sense magic. There is communication between the moon and the earth. I am sure of it." He swallows and explains himself "I just didn't want you to worry your pretty little head about it. You wouldn't have banished her if you knew the consequences." I snort "Don't you think that I deserve to know? You are wrong as well, all I would have done, is tried harder to talk it out with her. I deserve to know, if you don't tell me something of this significance again, we are going to have a real problem in our hooves." He uncomfortably clears his throat "Also, what you claim is impossible. I know that your sister is a very powerful mare, but I am very sure that preforming strong magic while on the moon is beyond her magical capacity. Anything that you say on this subject, cannot change the science of it." I roll my eyes and start to gulp down the rest of the wine in my glass "And let's not forget the one year maximum, becoming a THOUSAND years minimum?! One year was difficult for me to comply with, you know that Luna and I were very close. If it weren't for my sense of decency, I swear I would..." StarSwirl interrupts "Look, your majesty, if I may, there was just a miscalculation. And if I may, it isn't something to fret over. What's done is done, and there is no use trying to fix it now. Trust me, I am pretty sure I know a little bit more about this than you. Plus, you are an immortal princess, what you want, you get. You will forget about her in a month or two, and then when she comes it will be a pleasant surprise ." I clench my teeth and try to control my anger, but it's no use. Not even the most patient or forgiving of mares could put up with him at this moment. I put both of my hooves on the table and stand up on my hind legs. Then I encase the wide eyed StarSwirl in my aura and pull him towards my end of the table "Do you seriously want to patronize a powerful mare that already wants to send to to live on the sun?! I have no patience or lenience left for you StarSwirl. I have given you so many breaks, and you repay my kindness by calling me a stupid and spoiled five year old! You think you are the smartest one in the kingdom, and that you are superior because you are male, but don't know anything at all compared to me! I knew things at FOUR that you wouldn't even BEGIN to comprehend with ten of your successful lives!" I looked into his terrified eyes. Even though I hate him right now, I can't do this to him. So I gently set him down at the other end of the table. "I try hard to keep the kingdom safe, and you know that for a fact, so don't act as if I am a leader who has no clue about what the hell she is doing." He is still shaking with fear "I am s-s-s-sorry, I didn't mean to sound like that." He knows that he did. He really knows that he meant to make me like the inferior one in the room. He want's to prove that he is the top scientist, but all he is doing is making me regret hiring him. "Apology accepted." He pushes his plate away from him "Is there anything else that you require assistance with? Or anything else that you would like to discuss?" I think. What did he take away from me that I desperately and so selfishly need "I need you to help me create an immortal species. An immortal species that will be loyal, and kind to me though hardships, and someone to keep me company during terrible times." He looks astonished "I am surprised. Isn't mortal companionship enough?" I am an immortal among mortals, it is something that is very difficult life. Only Luna understood the awful burden of being able to live forever. "No. It's not. You are also going to get Luna home, or help me send her everything she needs. I am worried about her, she didn't deserve this harsh of a punishment, and it is your fault that she is there in the first place." All StarSwirl does is nod his head, and politely excuse himself from the table. I finish my plate. All I can think is, I have scared the beard off of that stallion, and that I will get results because of it. I get up from my seat, and travel up to Luna's room. I lie on her small but comfy bed, and start to weep for her, and selfishly for myself as well ~ ~ ~
