The morning light shined through the blinds that are supposed to block out the light in the Carousel Boutique. Sweetie Belle, the younger sister of the fashionista, Rarity, awoke with a yawn and a satisfying stretch, as she slowly fluttered open her eyelids to reveal a pale green colour that glistened in the light.
She slides out from underneath the covers of her small, yet comfortable bed. Her small white hooves made a slight tap, but not enough to awake Rarity from her sleep, or as she liked to call it, beauty sleep. She groaned as she glanced back to her clock, as it was still only half past seven in the morning. She wasn't used to waking up at this time, maybe when Rarity was going on a trip somewhere and had to be taken care of by a foalsitter, just to meet her foalsitter and see her older sister off. Usually, she would just head back to bed for a couple of hours before she fully woke up, making sure she had the most sleep she could possibly get.
Walking over to her mirror after almost falling asleep, she picked up her mane brush from the table and lazily dragged it through her pale pink and lilac curly mane. Even though she brushed her mane thoroughly each and every day, over three times per one day, it still kept its curls, as it just came naturally.
After she had finished brushing all of the tangles out of her mane, Sweetie Belle plodded over to her purple coloured door. Just then, a huge amount of realisation hit her. Today was Easter! Which was probably one of the only days she got to spend a full day with Rarity without them working together on one of her many projects!
A sparkle that wasn't there before brought light to the young pony's eyes, as her eyelids widened and a huge smile formed across her face as she thought about all the things she could do with her big sister that she wasn't able to do everyday, only on special occasions like today was she able to spend the entire day with her sister, with absolutely no worries and no projects for them to work on.
Before she went to wake her sister, who was still peacefully sleeping after all of the noise Sweetie had caused before, the young white unicorn filly ran back to her mirror and picked up a small bottle, which was about half way full of a sweet scented perfume. After spraying some onto her neck, she quickly sniffed it too see if had changed scent. What most ponies didn't know was that, with the combined magic of Rarity and Princess Twilight Sparkle, they had created a perfume that changed scent to a different fruit every forty-five minutes. Of course, this was very energy consuming for the both of them, but Twilights was not half as bad as what it had done to Rarity. She was left without hardly any energy at all for the next couple of hours, and had to rest at Twilights crystal tree castle. But it was way more than worth it, and was gifted to Sweetie Belle on her birthday two years ago.
When she had finished, she turned around to face the door and ran straight for it. Turning the handle so she could open it, she flung the door open, making a loud banging sound as it bashed against her wall. Sweetie ran down the hallway of the Carousel Boutique until she reached her sisters door. She kicked it open with great force, though Rarity had strictly told her never to wake her up whilst she was sleeping, only if it was an emergency. The exited filly ran over to her sisters bed and jumped up on it, then started tapping her. Rarity groaned and turned onto her right side so Sweetie Belle couldn't see her face. Still, she continued to tap her. It eventually got to the point where the older unicorn shot up and pushed her sleeping mask up to reveal her gorgeous sapphire eyes. Across her face was a look that she would only pull when she was annoyed.
"Sweetie Belle! I told you to only wake me up when its an emergency, whatever is the matter darling?" asked Rarity in the sweetest tone she could get to, but it still didn't bring a good explanation out of her younger sister.
"You don't remember?" she questioned, a little bit of her smile fading from her face. This was the one of the only days out of the year that they got to spend with each other with no work, no worries whatsoever, and she just forgot it?
Rarity saw the smile slowly fading from her face, and glanced over at her calendar to check if she had actually forgot something, or if her sister was just pulling a prank. As she couldn't see it very well, she climbed out of bed and lazily walked over to the calander to find that today was a very special and important day to the both of them. It was Easter Sunday! Her eyes widened and, just like her sister, a huge smile formed across her muzzle. She turned around to reveal her exited expression, and that brought the beautiful white smile back to Sweetie Belle's face.
"Well, how about we go downstairs and see what the Easter bunny has brought us Sweetie?" asked Rarity, but before she had chance to respond, they both ran out of Raritys room and headed for the stairs. They ran as fast as they could downstairs, and stopped at the bottom of them. They both turned to each other, as they needed a plan.
"Right, Sweetie, I'll go cook up some breakfast. We're not having too much chocolate for breakfast. As for you, go into the living room and start looking at what you've got," Rarity had planned this about a minute before they had arrived downstairs, so it wasn't rushed.
"But Rarity, I want us to look at our eggs at the same time, together," the light in the young filly's eyes started to disappear as her head turned to face the floor, staring at her almost pearl white hooves. Rarity looked at her sister, and brought a hoof to her chin and lifted her head up to face her. The filly stared into the mares eyes, as she told her :
"Its alright, you can go take a quick look whilst I start breakfast, and then you come help me make it. When we've finished eating it we can go look and open our Easter eggs together, you can't open Easter eggs on an empty stomach now can we? Does that sound good?" asked Rarity, hoping to also get some help with breakfast, and trying not to hurt her feelings at the same time. Sweetie responded with a nod of her head.
"Good, now run along and go take a quick look at the eggs, then come and help me with breakfast," replied Rarity with a smile. Before Sweetie Belle went to the living room, her older sister give her a quick hug and a small kiss on her head. The younger unicorn giggled as she was released from her sisters grasp, and walked down the hallway to where the living room was located.
Rarity proceeded to head to the kitchen. She left the door open only a little, just so the smell wouldn't effect the house. Opening the cupboards with her unicorn magic, she grabbed some eggs, garnish, and a few various herbs. She trotted over to the fridge and grabbed the milk. She brought out two plates and two glass's and set them down on the table.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Sweetie Belle was looking for the light switch.
"Why is it SL hard to find! This happens every single time!" Sweetie groaned, and continued to look for the light switch. A few minutes later, she finally found the switch and turned it on. It took a few moments to get used to the light, but when she ran over to see the eggs they had received, she was greeted by nothing.
