The Defiance of Pawns
The alicorns. Immortal beings embedded with incomprehensible magic and even more staggering responsibilities. The world loves them. But there are some who would oppose them. Some who would prove what mere mortals can do. Some who will not be pawns.
The alicorns are seen as protectors of the world. Leaders of a bright new era that will end evil and chaos alike. Perhaps there will be a day when the world will have no need of such rulers.
That day has not arrived. These immortal being will be reminded just how mortal they can be and one creature will remind them how close everyone is to reaching the breaking point.
