I screamed as the wind rushed passed my ears. All I could see was the green field rushing toward me. The only thing that ran through my mind was, "I'm going to die." I screamed again and prayed that this was all a dream, but the closer I got the more I knew it wasn't. I screwed my eyes shut, and hoped it would be quick.
I opened my eyes when I realized that I was slowing down. The wind wasn't as loud, and the ground was going as fast. confused, I watched as I slowed to a crawl jut above the ground before gently landing. I looked around confused for a few seconds before I heard the sound of hooves on all sides.
All around me were tiny unicorns rushing at me, every single one with a spear floating alongside them. They formed a circle around me and pointed their spears straight at me. One of the unicorns, A white one with a blue mane, stepped forward. " Don't Move!" I spun around, looking at all of them. there were at least fifty, all of them inching closer with their spears pointed straight at my face. I started feeling light headed, all of this too much for me. The world started spinning and I hit the ground. The last thing I heard was the white unicorn yelling before I passed out.
I open my eyes only to find out that I was shackled in a cart. we weren't moving, but by the sounds of it we would be soon. I could hear metal clanging, like the sound of latches being closed. sure enough, the cart jerked forward and we were on the move. I tried to sit up, but the chains were too short, so I lay back down on the floor.
They must have heard me, because someone said, "Don't try anything funny. We have permission to subdue you if we deem it necessary."
"Yes sir," I said.
"good."
"Can you tell me where I am?"
"I've been told not to answer any of your questions. You'll have plenty of time for that later." The rest of the trip was in silence.
I stared out the back of the cart and watched as the grass field turned into a rocky path. The cart tilt as we reach the path up a mountain. I watched as we climbed higher and higher, revealing more of the area around me. for a while i only saw forests and a few small villages, but as we rose I saw skyscrapers. Many of them resembled building back in New York, but it was different somehow.
Before I could figure it out the city vanished around the other side of the mountain. Deciding I had done enough site-seeing, I lay back and tried to get a bit of sleep. something told me I was in for a long day.
I woke with a start when the cart shook. "Wake up. we're here, and I'm not carrying you again." A purple glow surrounded the chains around my arms and legs and they unlatched from the cart. They slowly floated out of the cart with me following closely behind. When I got outside, there were ten armed unicorns waiting for me, each of them carrying a spear. They formed a block around me and we walked toward a large city.
Tall white towers rose everywhere, all inside tall white walls. The drawbridge was lowered and the gates were open. We entered the gate to find a completely empty street. Streets that connected were full of unicorns, ponies, and even pegasi. They were all looking straight at me. Some of them stared at me with confusion, some with curiosity, some with fear.
As we walked in total silence, I noticed something about all of them. They were all wearing high end clothing. not a single one was dressed like I was. It made me feel inferior, like I shouldn't be here. Whatever city I was in, it was important.
We finally reached the end of our journey, a palace. It's spires rose taller than all the others, and it's colors were more vibrant. Two armed guards stood watch in front of the large wooden doors, staring at me as if the intended to kill me. Instead of approaching the doors, we turned and walked up a side path.
We turned a corner and a pair of ion cellar doors came into view. A blue glow surrounded the doors as they swung open. We descended the stone steps into a dungeon. The glow around the chains gave off more light than the torches. We walked the stone halls until we reached a small cell in the back. the door slid open and I was escorted inside. the ankle chains were attached to the wall, but my wrists were left free. "You'll be waiting here for the princess. She wants to speak to you personally." The cell door slid shut, and I was alone.
I don't know how long it was before the guards returned. it could have been minutes, it could have been hours, I couldn't tell. It was toture being stuck in that dim cell. When they finally did return, I was glad to see them.
The gate slid open and the chains detached. I was escorted through the stone halls again and up into a beautiful room. The walls were a bright white with a floor to match. A small table sat in the middle of the room with two cushions on either side. A red rug rested underneath with an intricate gold design weaving about.
I sat down on the cushion and the chains were attached to a hook on the floor. The guards left without a word and I waited. Before long, The door opened again and two guards came in. Following them was a tall winged unicorn. She was white with a flowing prismatic mane, standing taller than me standing up. her face was expressionless as she sat down on the other cushion.
She waved a hoof and the guards left, leaving me with her. There was a moment of silence before she said, "Hello. I am princess Celestia, Co-ruler of Equestria."
"I'm James Smith, accountant from New York City." I swallowed hard.
"Can you tell me how you got here?" Her voice was oddly calming, as if she were my mother.
"I have no idea."
"You don't know anything?"
"no ma'am."
"You come from New York City? I've never heard of such a place."
"I'm not sure how you don't know about it, it's one of the biggest cities in the world."
"In your world, maybe."
"M-my world?"
"I'm afraid You're not in your world anymore."
"How? That's impossible!" I was starting to hyperventilate.
"Calm down, please. You are in no danger. Deep breaths." I breathed deep for a few minutes, trying to calm myself down. My mind was too fogged up already, this only made it worse. Finally getting control of myself, she continued. "Now, I need you to tell me as much as you can about your world."
"Why?"
"Because this might just be the start of something much bigger."
What started as me telling her the major details of my world turned into a history lesson. I talked for hours, telling her about all the events on earth. I told her about the ancient Egyptians and the modern U.S. I told her about About Jesus Christ and Buddha. I told her about Abraham Lincoln and Adolf Hitler. The entire time she was completely Enthralled. It was as if my stories were the only things that mattered.
When my voice started to get hoarse, she motioned for me to stop. "You're world is so fascinating, it's nothing like ours."
"things are pretty crazy back home," I croaked out.
"save your voice, I want to hear more tomorrow." She turned toward the door. "Guards! take him down please."
"My eyes went wide. "Wait! please!" I coughed. "Don't send me back down there!" The guards grabbed my chains and started to pull me along. "Please!"
She motioned for them to stop. She looked like she was thinking hard about this. after a while, she said, "Alright, you can stay in one of the castle's rooms. You are not to leave the room, and there will be guards posted outside all night."
I breathed a sigh of relief. "thank you." I coughed again. She left, and the guards dragged me along behind her. We walked through the castle, the halls decorated with all sorts of banners and paintings. We twisted and turned until I couldn't keep track of where we were anymore. Eventually we stopped and a door on my right opened.
Inside was a fairly decent sized room with beige carpet and white walls. the bed was queen size, much to my excitement. A small dresser stood at one end of the room, across from the bed. A tall mirror, taller than me, stood on top. An end table sat next to the bed with a single candle sitting on it. A chandelier hung from the ceiling, full of candles, giving the entire room a warm glow.
I went inside and the door shut behind me. I sat down on the bed and stared at the candle, the little flame flickering. I felt my stomach grumble. As if on cue, there was a knock on the door followed by, "A meal has been prepared for you. I'm coming in." the door clicked open and the guard floated a roasted chicken onto the side of the bed and left.
Not realizing how hungry I actually was, I tore into the chicken. It was the first time I had ever eaten like that. I felt like an animal. In a few minutes the chicken was gone, and only the bones were left behind. Feeling satisfied with my meal, I placed the plate and bones on the dresser. I fell back on the bed and soon found sleep calling my name. crawling underneath the sheets, I slipped into a much needed sleep.
