Double Diamond and Night Glider love story

I stood at the top of the hill with the other skiers, wind blowing as little more than a breeze.

  The downhill was quite steep, so I knew we were going to be going fast really quick.

Turning to the stallion on my right,  I said, "well,  Speedy, looks like I'm leaving you behind in the snow".

He laughed and yelled " oh yeah, wait till I beat you first, Diamond boy".

"skiers, starting positions", the announcer yells.

We skiers put on our skiing goggles and placed our hooves into our skis.

" on your mark"....

I ready myself, I get focused, and I begin controlling my breathing.

"Get set".....

The moment before he said " go" time seemed to slow down, the wind seemed louder and i could hear the steady thump thump of my heartbeat.

"GO"!

Almost instantly, I leaped with my skis on the snowy hill and began speeding up quickly.

It's a strange sensation, going that fast, you can see nothing ahead of you besides the track, and the mind just focuses on the task, like all other brain functions stop.

As we raced downhill, I could feel the cold wind biting at my face, and I am quite sure some of the other skiers were shocked that I past them, not that I could see it, we were traveling so fast.

Eventually, it was just me and my buddy, Speedy.

" okay, Diamond, if you time this just right, you can pass him easily", I thought to myself as I planned my move.

When I felt the right moment come out, I thought, " NOW" and I made a pass, swinging wide and passing him with ease.

From there, it was a straight shot at the finish line, and after I passed it, the crowd cheered.

" OH, and that's another great race for the Toronto Snow skiing competition , give it up for Double Diamond", the announcer shouted.

I took off my goggles and smiled, waving at the audience.

" OH MY CELESTIA! DOUBLE DIAMOND", a group of fangirls were screaming and squealing.

I just smiled and shook my head.
