Hey again! Well, today was my first day, besides yesterday, being in Ponyville! I had an awesome day and met a few new people, too. Don't know if they're technically called friends yet, but for your guys' sake, I will! So, I want to share one of my experiences today with you! Let's start from when I woke up...
I had just woken up. Sun was shining, birds were chirping. Beautiful day. I got up out of bed and went into the bathroom to shower, brush, and any other essentials before I went about my day.
Now, I had only unpacked a few things for the night, not knowing exactly what I would need for the next, so nothing kitchen related was out. They were still in boxes in the backroom. I was too tired to go unpack, so I decided to go out for breakfast.
I put on my saddle bags stamped with my cutie mark, an inkwell with a quill inside and a scroll to the right, and put drawing and writing materials in it. Can't go anywhere without these!
Since I didn't know much about this town, not that I do now, but I bought a house on the outskirts of town. I think it's close to a farm called Sweet Apple something or something close to that. So, I wasn't too far from the middle of the town. It was still in full view standing outside my house.
Going on, I started walking along the dirt road leading straight to Ponyville, only passing a couple houses along the way. Like I said, I'm more on the outskirts. While stepping into the main area of Ponyvile for the first time, I was shocked to see how many people were out already! I observed the vendors keeping stock and selling their fine products, also the little fillies and colts playing in the summer sun, even there was a little group of them together with another mare, maybe a school field trip?
I was actually looking for somepony to ask where a good place to get breakfast was. As I was walking, I passed many a ponies, saying my usual "Hi!" or "Howdy!", but I didn't stop any of them and asked. Guess I was a little shy. But then, I saw a mare walking my way with a gray coat and yellow mane. As she was walking, everypony would say hi to her and ask her how her day was. Seemed friendly enough to ask where a stallion like me could get some grub.
"Howdy!" I said as she walked passed.
"Oh, hey mister. Haven't seen you around before," she replied. Her voice was off, and so was one of her eyes.
"Yeah, I'm new here. my name is Inkwell Prose, but you can just call me Ink or Inkwell is fine, too."
"My name is Derpy, but you can just call me Derpy." She gave a big grin.
"Well, Derpy, is there a place where a pony can get some breakfast around here?"
"Go to Sugar Cube Corner! They have the best MUFFINS in all of... where we live. Equestria! That's it!"
"OK! Bye Derpy!"
"Bye Ink!" With that, Derpy continued on her way, as well as I did. Later, I heard she fell off of a roof and broke her right fore-leg. I bring that because she's a Pegasus, and she can fly. And she fell off of a roof. Maybe she has bad reaction time.
Anyways, I didn't get the chance to ask where this Sugar Cube place was. It had completely slipped my mind, in fact. But, I saw the sign and immediately didn't feel lost again. I walked up to the building and observed the exterior: the nicely trimmed bushes, the big oak door, and the little sign that read, "Sugar Cube Corner: The sweetest place in Ponyville!"
"Cute," I said aloud, and walked inside. Looking around, I saw the front counter, which had a display case in it full of sweet treats that I would HAVE to go back and try sometime, the eating area with tables and chairs and the basics, and a staircase leading to an upper floor. Behind the previously mentioned counter was a mare wearing a frilly apron and had red and white hair that looked like cupcake frosting.
I trotted up to the counter and she asked, "What can I get ya?"
"Um... I guess just a muffin."
"OK. That'll be one bit!" the mare said, holding out a hoof and grabbing a muffin from a tray. I handed her a bit and she gave me the muffin in return.
"Thanks," I said, moving over to one of the tables in the lobby. I chose one by a window to observe the bustling town and all of its glory!
I looked my muffin from top to bottom, inspecting it. It probably looked weird to other ponies, no it DID look weird to other ponies, but oh well. Anyways, I took a bite and it was delicious! The muffin was well-made, slightly hard outside with a smooth and fluffy inside. It literally melted in your mouth!
While enjoying my muffin and watching outside, I heard this from over my shoulder: "*gasp* I SEE SOMEPONY NEEEEWWWWWW!" I couldn't even turn to look who had just screamed that out loud before a blog of pink was upon me, tackling me to the ground. When we stopped tumbling, I looked up to see a mare with a pink coat, pink mane, and a great big smile on her face.
"Oopsie! Sorry! Didn't mean to tackle you like that. Just whenever I see somepony new in Ponyville, I just get all EXCITED!" she said, confetti popping up from nowhere. She let me get up and I brushed off my fur.
"Are you OK?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Well, my name is Pinkie Pie! What's yours?"
"Inkwell Prose, but you can call me Ink. I just moved here from Fillydelphia."
"Oooohh, that explains why I haven't seen you before! You just moved here! So, you get the special "Welcome to Ponyville" greet I do for all of the new ponies that come to town!" before I could say anything, she bolted upstarts and back, bringing with her a wagon with a chest, oven, cannons, flags, and trumpets. Next thing I know, music starts playing and pinkie starts dancing and singing.
"Welcome, welcome, welcome,
A fine welcome to you!
Welcome, welcome, welcome,
I say how do you do?
Welcome, welcome, welcome,
I say hip-hip-hooray!
Welcome, welcome, welcome,
To Ponyville todaaayyyyyy!"
After the song and dance was over, confetti shot out of the oven at me and cake batter shot out of the cannons, pasting us both in a layer of cake batter.
"Oopsie! I must've put the cake batter in the confetti cannons and the confetti in the oven! Again! He-he-he! I'll go get us some towels," Pinkie said, running back upstairs.
I may have been annoyed by the fact that I was covered in confetti and cake batter, but that was still the BEST welcome anypony has ever given me.
Pinkie returned fairly quickly with two towels. She handed me one and we both cleaned up ourselves. After that, we got into a deep conversation about what goes on here in Ponyville. She told me about a mare named Trixie that terrorized the citizens with her magic, a three-headed dog that escaped and trashed the town, something about a centaur and a princess named Twilight and a castle from a chest that came from a tree. She said all of this so fast, my head hurt trying to process it all.
So, before my head exploded, I told Pinkie that I had other things I needed to do to get settled into my new home, and that I needed to go.
"Okie dokie lokie! Come back anytime, Ink!"
"Will do!" I said.
That was the basis of my day. After that, I went back home and unpacked a few more things, but iI was tired, so I slept most of the day. That's when I woke up, got a snack, and started writing in my journal.
But, all-in-all, this day was great! That welcome from Pinkie was awesome! Never have I seen such a happy pony to greet somepony. Now I can only imagine what others in this town are like!
That's it for now!

New Hair Style And I Lose A Race
Hello again viewers! I need to come up with a new intro before that before that one becomes repetitve. Hehe. Wow, am I tired. So much happened today, and I didn't even get to eat. That's what I'll probably do after this. Eat. But what? I don't know, We'll get there when we get there.
Anyways, today was still a good day in Ponyville! I met some new people and even raced somepony! In the air! Not like a running race, a flying race! I haven't been in one of those for years! Mainly because all of my friends back in Manehattan were, like, Earth Ponies or Unicorns, but yeah!
OK, I'm getting ahead of myself. Today was a good day. Well, almost, there's just one downfall. My hair. It's a mess! It's all poofed up and sticking out and it's annoying! Even after a shower and a half hour combing session, it's still somewhat messed up. I can't get it back to the way I like it. I hope by tomorrow it's fixed because I have to-. No, Inkwell. stop getting ahead of yourself. Another time.
Anyways, I bet you're wondering how my hair got like this. Well........
I had just walked out of Sugarcube Corner from another session with Madam Pinkie, or Pinkie Pie. Don't know why she wanted me to call her that today, Anyways, she had invited me over to talk some more, mainly about me and my past, since the day before was all about her and what happened in Ponyville. But, That's a story for another day. Moving on, I had just walked out and was going to head home to make dinner.
All of a sudden, a blur of rainbow dashes past me, making me stumble and fall. I was dazed and confused, not knowing what had just happened. I tried looking around, but all I saw was black, until I realized I fell in mud and it now covered my face. I wiped it off and looked around again, just in time to see that same blur turn around and shoot back, aiming right at me. I brace for an impact, but then I feel a wisp of wind and feel a feather drop on my nose. I look up to see a cyan blue Pegasus mare with a rainbow mane looking down at me and offering a hoof to help me up.
I hesitate, but to not make myself seem weak, I hold my hoof and she connects with mine and pulls me up. When I was standing, I brushed myself off and tried to focus again, still seeing a few stars after the fall.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry about knocking you about. Practicing for the Wonderbolts! Gotta perfect this new trick!" she said, flexing her wings a bit.
"Uh, yeah. Ouch!" I said, stumbling a bit. My head had just started hurting like crazy and I couldn't even see straight. "Just the other day actually. My name is Inkwell, but you can just call me Ink. I live just outside of town, near some type of farm, I think. May I ask what your name is?"
"Name's Rainbow Dash, the BEST flier in Equestria! And from what I can see, you're a flier too. Any good?"
"Well, I guess I'm decent. I don't get into a lot of fast flying. No need to. besides, going too fast kinda poofs up my hair and I kinda can't get it back to normal afterwards. For like, a loooong time," I said, slightly blushing. This was true. Everytime I went really fast flying, my hair just turns into a cotton ball of black ink on my head. And, even after constant showering and combing, it just refuses to go back. I guess it's one of the reasons I don't race anymore.
"Weeeeellll," Rainbow said, "I guess I could show you something superly awesome cool for your troubles, besides me, of course. But, we need to get there fast, before sundown. So, I was wondering if you, I don't know, wanted to... race there?"
Okay, I'll be honest. I was surprised. Last time I was asked to race was from my friend Kestrel. This was some six years ago. Kestrel is my only Pegasus friend, so she is the only one I could race. I had won, but only slightly. being asked again brought back memories and my mind kinda started to drift and wander. But, I didn't want to make a bad impression, so I snapped back into reality and said, "Um... It's been a minute. I don't know."
"Come on, you're not scared are you? Scared to lose to a girl? 'Cause not to brag, but I've never lost."
"Never lost, eh? A part of me wants to believe you, but I just can't bring myself to do it." I said this smugly enough to anger her a little with my accusation.
"Want me to prove it? Race me, then! Come on, chicken!" Rainbow was saying this loudly and it was starting to attract a crowd. Yay, get here a few days ago and attract a crowd that wants to see me and Rainbow race.
"I guess I'll race you. Where we racing?"
"To the entrance of the Everfree Forest. Told ya I had something cool to show ya." This made me quiver on the inside, as I had never been to the Everfree Forest, but I had heard about it. Dangerous creatures and mythological legends unknown to the world lie hidden beneath it's dark blanket of envy and mystery.
Rainbow made a line in the ground and lined up behind it. I followed suit, stretching out my rings, ready to go. I had a good idea of where the Forest was, but I may need to follow behind Rainbow until I'm certain. Then, I'll shoot for the win right at the end!
I looked over sand saw Rainbow looking for somepony. When she found her target, she yelled her name. "Pinkie Pie! Get your flank over here and count us down!" Almost instantly, I saw the pink pony bouncing our way, wearing a party hat and carrying balloons. When she saw me, she looked very happy.
"Heeeeeeyyyy, Ink! Didn't we just talk, like ten minutes ago? He-he? That's funny! Anyways, I see you've met Rainbow Dash! She's my bestest friend in all of Ponyville. Well, everypony is my bestest friend, so I guess it's just a big paradox that-"
"Pinkie! Please, stop before you break his brain!" Rainbow said, probably because of the confuzzled look on my face.
"Wwwwwwwwhaaaaaaat!? I'm just saying! Anyways, what do ya guys need?"
"Count us down, we're about to race!"
"Awesome! I love races!" Get ready you two!" After she said this, I returned to the position as before, and so did Rainbow.
"Okay...... I'm counting down...... right now...."
"Pinkie!"
"Alright! 3,2,1,go!" She said it so quick my mind could barely decipher it, but it sure did when I saw Rainbow shoot off like a speeding bullet. I quickly took off and was right behind her in ten seconds flat. She saw me coming up fast, so she pushed herself harder and I started to lose her. But, I wasn't too far behind
Trying to keep up with Rainbow was no easy task, considering the route she took. Dodging in between trees and through clouds. But, I never faltered, keeping pace.
About two minutes after we started racing, I began to see the edge of the Forest over the horizon. 'This was my chance,' I thought. I sped up and turned towards what I thought was the border to the Forest. I soon realized coming up that it was just a painted background on a stage for a school play. I took back off, trying to find Rainbow and the Forest, to no luck.
I grounded myself near a well and pulled me up some water to drink. 'Where was Rainbow?' I though, 'Probably waiting for me at the Forest. Looks like she won. I looked down at the water and noticed something. Something I hope didn't happen. my hair had turned into that cotton ball of ink. I must've been going really fast, since that's the only time it ever does that.
I groaned and tried to fix it with my hooves, drawing out the hair and pushing it flat, to no positive effect. It just sprung back up into its poof ball state. I had to get home before anypony saw me like this. it's too embarrassing. I turned around to aim myself towards home, just to see Rainbow Dash staring at me. Well, my hair to be exact.
I quickly tried to cover it up, but Rainbow saw the entirety of it.
"Hahahaha! Oh, sweet Celestia! That's hilarious! Haha! You're hair is just like-" she couldn't even finish before falling on the ground, rolling around and laughing her head off.
"This is why I didn't want to race," I said, "I knew this would happen. It always does!"
"It's okay, Ink. Not that bad. It's just funny to see you with poofy hair! I bet it'll go back to normal after a shower or something."
"One can only hope," I said, poking and prodding my hair even more, trying to fix as much as I could. "So..... are you still going to show me that coll thing you were talking about?" I asked.
"What? Oh, yeah! There was nothing! he-he. I just did that so you'd race me. it worked, too." Rainbow said, beginning to laugh again, covering her mouth to hold it in.
"Really? you did that just to get a race?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Well, i'm not mad. Good job. I fell for it. But, it still wasn't fair. i didn't even know where to go. So, i feel I should get a rematch, staring now!" I said, shooting off, heading back to town. I looked back and saw Rainbow take off and ride up my tail. I sped up, starting to see town hall amidst the clouds.
I was nearly there when Rainbow shot right passed me, giving me a smug look that I barely saw, as she was going really fast. She landed and I did just seconds later, right in front of town hall. I was panting, gasping for air, while Rainbow Dash didn't even seem tired.
"How do you go so fast?" I wheezed.
"I learned from the best. It's getting a little late. Gotta go." she said, dashing off again.
"Wait!" I tried to scream, but failed. She was gone, anyways.
I wonder where she went? I thought.
I still don't know where she went. i haven't seen her since. Probably to find some other ponies to race with. I liked her though. I guess I can consider us friends now, even after the whole ordeal, and I hope to see her again, soon. I'll look for her tomorrow or something.
Anyways, that's all for tonight, because I'm tired. I need to get my hair fixed. The shower did nothing. I wonder if there is a spa or something around here, or a hair-dresser or something. i don't know. Night guys, and I'll talk to you all later.
