It was time. Everypony in Ponyville was watching as Princess Celestia rode by, parading in her royal chariot. Everybody was cheering as she passed. They threw rose pedals and shot confetti. It was the happiest day of the year. The Summer Sun Celebration. It was packed. There were ponies of all types there, cheering on as their ruler passed by. Nothing could go wrong. This day was perfect. Her chariot reached the stage at the town square. Everypony gathered to hear the speech and kick off the celebration.
Preparations for Celestia's arrival were trusted to Twilight and her friends. Rainbow Dash was over the weather. Pinkie Pie and Rarity were over decorations. Apple Jack was in charge of food and Fluttershy was in charge of music. It was Twilight's job to make sure everything went smoothly. There was more than preparations for the visual aspects though. Being the ruler of Equestria, Celestia frequently received death threats. Most were usually disregarded as cruel jokes but because it was a public outing, Celestia had no choice but to set up a security feature. There were royal guards everywhere. On roof tops, in the air, even on the ground marching in phalanx next to her.
She took the mic. "Greetings Equestria!" she said as a loud roar engulfed the air. "Settle down settle down. I'd like to welcome you to the 100th Summer Sun Celebration!" The crowd roared. Smiling, and taking in the fresh air and enjoying the cheers from her subjects, she allowed the crowd to calm its self before speaking again. Right as she was about to begin her speech, all hell broke loose.
Blood splattered everywhere. All jaws dropped at the horrific sight. Pinkie Pie screamed and the crowd followed suit, then scattered. There was brain matter and fragments of skull and flesh strung out all along the staging area. A metallic harpoon could be clearly seen sticking out of the stage. All the guards piled in on Celestia. The sight was horrific. There was a stampede. Ponies were trying to get away. Trying to run from the sight of their beloved princess, murdered. Fillies and ponies alike were falling and getting trampled in trying to escape. It looked like a war zone.
Guards that didn't pile onto Celestia, moved in front of the crowd to stop them. No one was going to get away with this sick crime. The mane six, however, managed to slip out along with a few others. Trying to shake off the shock of what just happened, they all found a secluded corner and began to tell their stories of what they saw, leading up to, and happen, at the murder of Celestia.
