"Twilight? I'm back." Spike called out as he entered the library and was greeted with silence. A jammed railroad switch had caused the train to be delayed and the sun was setting by the time he got back to Ponyville, leaving the inside quite dim since hardly any lights were on, "Twi?" Switching on a couple, he spotted a sight that also explained everything.

Twilight was curled up on the couch, sound asleep and an open book laying on her chest. Spike smiled at the sight and made his way over to his slumbering lover. Getting close he leaned down near her ear, his breath on it making her squirm in her sleep a little.

"Wakey, wakey, Beautiful." He whispered, brushing a few loose strands of hair out of her face.

"Hmmmwaha..?" One eye opened halfway. When it met his both opened and the corners of her mouth turned up in a sleepy smile, "Spike." She whispered, "I was starting to get worried."

"Sorry." He replied, almost as quietly before giving an apologetic kiss, "Train took a little longer than I expected."

Unfortunately for Twilight, a spark of realization punching through her sleep-addled mind: she'd left all her charts and graphs out on the desk! "Uh-oh."

"What's wrong?"

"Uh..I..I had made a sandwich earlier, but I don't remember if I cleared it off the table. Could you check real fast? Just want to be sure nothing got into it." Her smile turned slightly embarrassed.

"Heh, ok, I'll go see." He said before heading to the kitchen.

A soon as he was gone, Twilight's horn lit up, encasing everything on her desk in her magic aura and stuffing it all into the drawers. She looked over to make sure she'd gotten it all, and after confirming she did, slumped back in time for Spike to come back in.

"No, you'd already gotten it, Twi. Table and sink were clear."

"Oh, ok. Just wasn't sure." She chuckled, "That was close..."

"So, anything fun happen while I was gone?"

"Smoothed things over with Rarity over a misunderstanding, but not much else.. " She yawned, "I take it things went ok for you?"

"Yeah, once you and the other members of this herd we're making decide you want kids, I'll just have to head back and get the spell reversed. That and I learned to never go back there alone."

"Why?

"Let's just say I found out exactly why you almost got violent with those mares that one time." He shuddered slightly.

"Oh? Oh." Her eyes narrowed a little in realization, "Them." The very memory of how brazenly those mares propositioned him still rankled her, "Yeah, I believe you won't."

"Either way, I'm just glad to be done with it all." He plopped down beside her, yawning, "I'm exhausted."

"Well, if it helps," She scooted up against him, using her magic to lock the door, "I'm still kind of sleepy myself."

"Bed?"

"Works for me." Her smile suddenly turned mischievous. "Last one there has to be my teddy bear!" With a flash of purple light, she vanished.

It took Spike a second to register what just happened, "Oh, that's cheating!" He commented as he headed to the stairs, "Not that I'm complaining about the stakes, mind you. But still."

It wasn't long before both occupants of Golden Oaks were sound asleep in each other's arms.
