Vela, a stubborn young hippogriff, is slacking off in her wing care. Her mother catches up on this and engages some tutors to teach her and her little brother the proper act of preening. As the tutors all quit and Icarus takes wind of it, he takes steps to ensure that such an act will always be remembered. Even if the do get a little, out of hand.

Exactly those steps are leading to one of those certain situations.
