//-------------------------------------------------------// Liam & Darksun Re-Ending -by Liam King- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: To the Garden //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: To the Garden "Come on, Liam!" Darksun yelled, trotting out in front of me. Darksun is a normal sized pegasus. She has a grey, coat, and bright red eyes. She has dark blue hair, with lines of dark red running through it. She is very sweet, and kind to ponies, but if you mess with her or her friends, not even the hills will hide you. "Well, slow down! I'm not as fast as you, Darksun!" Liam is a brown colored pony, with Chocolate brown eyes. His hair is the same, with small light spikes of brighter brown near the edges. He is very open and accepting to others. And, yes. He is a human from an alternate dimension. She was too fast. Even when trotting, I couldn't keep up with her. My chest was hurting from all the trotting, and running. I had to stop, or risk passing out on the ground, again. Doing so, I stopped and took a deep breath. Immediately, Darksun turned around, and trotted up to me. "You alright, Liam? Sorry, Was I going too fast?" I simply looked up, and nodded, still trying to catch my breath. "Sorry." Darksun, repeated, lowering her head. I simply stood up, and kiss her forehead, in response. "It's alright, Darksun." I said, looking down at her. She brought her head up, and her bright red eyes met mine, as we stood there for a moment. Then, her small frown, turned around to make a, slightly cute, smile. "Have I ever told you how great you are, Liam?" I laughed, slightly, and brought Darksun into a hug, making sure to let this moment last as long as it can. "Because you're fantastic." She continued, closing her eyes, and hugging back. "I am quite fantastic." I said, jokingly. I could hear Darksun laugh slightly through the hug. "Don't get full of yourself" Darksun said, still laughing. "I'm always full of myself" We both laughed at that, and detached from the hug. "So, you have something to show me? That is why you brought me out here." "Oh, right!" She turned around, quickly, and trotted in the other direction, leaving me in the dust, again. "Come on, Liam! This way!" She said, turning back to look at me. "And, this time, try and keep up!" With then, She turned back around, and trotted further into the forest. I sighed, and walked after her. I can remember meeting Darksun here. Believe it or not, I met Darksun here in the forest, right on this path. I can remember her odd expression, and straight up confusion. In all truth, the first time I met Darksun, I never would believe that I'd be her coltfriend. I wasn't very interested in talking to her the first time meeting her. But, after a few situations forced us together, I started to consider her a friend. And, it would take around a year before I gave her the position of my best friend. Now, I can't see myself ignoring her, leaving Ponyville, or anything that would separate me from her. I don't want to come across as a pony who hogs their loved ones, though. I just feel like everything in my boring little life matters when I'm with her. And, I don't ever want lose her. "I'd go to hell and back for you, Darksun." I whispered to myself. "Care to prove that?" A monotone voice said, making me jump slightly. I turned around to see a black hooded pony staring at me. His face was completely shrouded by the shadow cast by the hood on his head, keeping me from seeing his face. I could tell he was a male, though. His body was big, but still pretty small for a colt. "What do you mean by that?" I asked, keeping a close eye on him. He just stood there, looking at me. "I mean exactly what I said, dumbass. Would you care to prove that you'd go to hell and back for such a simple pony?" He finally said. As soon as he said "simple pony", I was pissed. "You shut your damn mouth!" I yelled. Stepping closer to this black hooded pony. He didn't even flinch. "Oh. So intimidating." He said, chuckling slightly. "Besides, Liam. That's all that pony is. Plane and simple. Why would you ever risk your life for such a useless pony?" Immediately, I launched myself forward, grabbing his dark coat with the top of my hoof. "Shut up!" I yelled, pushing his coat back slightly with each of my short, but powerful, breaths. I could see his mouth, now, but, instead of a frown, he was smiling at me. I started to notice more about his face, as I looked more. He has a dark blue coat, and his teeth were slightly yellowish. Oblivious, this guy doesn't brush his teeth, and I could smell it too. "Who are you to judge a pony by simple looks?" I said, in an obviously pisses voice. He just sat there in silence, still smiling. "You would really die for her?" He finally said. I nodded, making my answer clear. His smile grew wider with that. "Then prove it." With that, he pulled up his hoof by my face, as a large glow of light began to emanate from it. Then, suddenly, a large flash of light covered my sight. I fell onto the ground in pain, covering my eye's with my hooves. The sounds around me were muted, to the point that I couldn't tell if I was even screaming. "Liam!" A familiar, muffled, voice yelled. Suddenly, I could feel myself move into a sitting position, as the light began to fade from my eyes. "Are you alright?" Darksun said, propping me against a tree. Finally, I pulled my hooves off my eyes, and looked at Darksun. I couldn't just say that I was alright. I was on the ground, in pain. Possibly screaming. So, I asked the only thing I could think of. "Did you see anypony?" Darksun's face went from concerned to confuse. "Only you." She said, shaking her head. "Why? Who else was here?" I didn't even know. The only things I can remember about him were his black rain coat, dark blue coat, and his smile. "I'm not sure myself. He just came out of nowhere." As I said that, I placed a hoof on my eye, making sure I can still see, properly. Darksun's expression was still stuck on confusion. Suddenly, though, her expression changed to a very small smile. "Glad you're OK, though." She said, pulling me into a small hug. I was caught off guard by this, and didn't know how to react. I sighed slightly, and hugged her back. I didn't know what to say, and she knew it. I could tell she had more questions for me, but knew I could answer them right now. "Sorry for worrying you." As I said that, she only squeezed tighter. "So, uh, what was that thing you wanted to show me?" I said, trying to break away from this topic. "Oh, that." She replied, breaking out of the hug. "It's this way" A small smile crossed her face; she started to walk towards the other direction. This time, waiting for me to catch up. We have been walking for around 10 minutes before Darksun struck up a random conversation. "But, anyway. That's why I like that song so much." She said, trying to explain why she likes the song 'Discord' so much. I've just been here, walking with her, and not talking. "Okay, Darksun. I get it. You like that song. You don't have to explain why." She turned her head to look at me with a slightly annoyed look on her face. "So, how long until you tell me what you brought me out here, for?" "Don't worry. We're almost there." She said, giggling slightly. We kept on walking in silence for a couple moments, before Darksun broke the silence. "There!" Darksun immediately began to trot down the path even further, not stopping for me. "Darksun! Wait up!" I began to trot after her, trying to not lose her again. Finally, though, she ran through a gap in the trees, and stopped to wait for me. I pushed through the tree's and find Darksun sitting by a small river. "Whoa. What is this place?" "It’s some sort of garden I found." She said, turning her head to face me. "I thought you'd like to see it." "It’s beautiful." I started to walk towards Darksun, looking at the entire area before finally reaching her. I turned my head to see her red eye's looking up at me. Watching me with such happiness. "Come and sit. The grass is soft, and really comfortable." She said, patting the ground where I could sit. I smiled, and sat down right next to her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Fade Away //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Fade Away My eyes flew open, realizing we had fallen asleep. I turned my head to look at Darksun, still asleep on my right hoof. Smiling slightly, I turned to look up at the sky. It was nighttime. "Darksun." I said, turning back to Darksun, and shaking my hoof slightly. I could hear her mumble slightly, and shift around, off of my hoof. I sat up, and started to shake Darksun, in an attempt to wake her up, again. "Hey! Darksun!" I yelled. Once again, a slight mumble escaped Darksun, and shifted back to my side. "Liam?" She said, yawning loudly. "What's up?" She rubbed her eye's, making it known how tired she was. "How long were we asleep?" "Look up." following what I said, she immediately looked up at the sky. Her eye's shot open, and she sat up into a sitting position. "Whoa! We need to get home!" She yelled, not caring about how loud she was being. She rolled over onto her hooves, trotted over to the entrance, making sure to stop and wait for me. "Come on, Liam!" "Coming!" I yelled back, and did the same, trotting up to Darksun. "We're in big trouble, now." She said, passing through the tree's leading to the path. After I pass through the trees, I noticed a figure on the other end of the garden, and looked back. Nothing. 'My head is possibly playing tricks on me' I thought. "Come on!" Darksun yelled, again. "Huh! Oh, right." I ran towards Darksun, and we continued to run, trying to head back home in Ponyville. "Man, how far are we from Ponyville?" Darksun asked, exhausted from all the running. To tell the truth, I was wondering this myself. We should have reached it by now. So, why haven't we? "I don't know, but we can't just stand here." I said, turning my head to look at Darksun. "We have to keep going." All she did in response was nod tiredly. "Come on, Liam." A voice said, echoing through the forest. Darksun and me turned around, as I recognizing the voice. It was that hooded pony, again. "Just give up. You're not leaving this forest." "And, why is that?" I yelled back. He chuckled, turned to Darksun. "Because, you're with her." He turned back to me, and stared. This guy was really starting to piss me off, now. His monotone voice was quiet and relaxed, as if he knew everything that would happen. "And, what do you expect? Me to just leave her?" I responded, yelling slightly. Everything about this guy made me wants to just sock him in the jaw. I turned to Darksun, and back this hood pony, giving him a glare. "I would never do that." "As expected." He said, chuckling, again. I swear if he chuckles one more time. "I thought that would be your answer. So, I went ahead, and changed that." His head slowly turned to face Darksun. "Besides, you can be with someone if they're not alive." I stepped in front of Darksun in a protective position. I'm not going to lose her again. All he did was chuckle more, looked at me with a satisfied look. "That's not going to change a thing, Liam." Just as he said that, a dark void opened up behind him, and started to trot backwards Into it. "Look at your precious Darksun now, Liam." "L-Liam!" Darksun yelled. I turned around quickly, and gasped. There were little strands of particles flying into the air around her. Wait. Not just around her. She turned from looking at herself, and looked into my eye's, tears starting to flow from hers. The particles were coming from her. Just than, the world around us started to crack, and fall apart, only to leave us in a bright white plane of nothing. Just as the ground us started to collapse, she reached her hoof out to me. "Darksun!" I yelled, running to Darksun, trying to grab her hoof, and pull her away from the ledge. I was too late. The ground under her gave way, and she fell back, the particles still flying off her. I jumped off the ledge after her, still attempting to reach her. "I'm not going to let you go!" Now, I was getting closer to her, nearly reaching her extended hoof. "I promise." I said, the wind around us muting my voice slightly, but she managed to hear me, smiling in return. Now, my hoof was around 2 feet from hers, filling me with some hope that I might save her. That hope was short lived, though. With some excitement, I swung my hoof at hers in my last attempt to grab it, but I was too late, once again. I flew backwards, away from Darksun, as she faded away into dust, leaving me alone in this void. "D-Darksun?" I whispered. I didn't know how to react, anymore. The tears were already forming in my eyes with each passing second of her not being there. I just watched my best friend fade away into dust, and vanish in front of me. "Darksun!" I yelled one last time. The tears in my eyes were flowing out, now. I couldn't stop them anymore. I lowered my head, and let the wind carry me. The Weight of my head pulls the front half of my body down, falling headfirst into the great white abyss, below. I opened my eyes one last time. Right below me was a huge body of water. I closed my eye's and continued to fall. I landed in the water, feeling it go around me, and pull me up, as I started to drift away into unconsciousness. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Mending the Wound //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Mending the Wound I could feel the water around me, seep onto my face, and move back down. My hair moving with the calm waves. I groaned, and shifted, feeling the ground under me. Slowly, but surely, I opened my eyes to see the blue sky. I could also see a tree to the left of me. "Where am I?" I groaned, and sat up. I appeared to be in a large, tree filled field looking out over a large river. I stared at the moving water of the river for a moment, and then turned my head to look at the field. It looked like an open grass plane, but with small trees scattered around it, leading into the Everfree forest. It seems I was on the outskirts of Ponyville. Even then, though. It doesn't look like Ponyville's outskirts, at all. I've been on the outskirts, and this doesn't look at all like them. It's too sad, and doesn't seem to carry the happiness that usually comes with Ponyville. Well, I should start heading back to Ponyville, now. The air around here was unbearable for me. I rolled over, and brought my hooves under my body in an attempt to stand up, but as soon as I tried, my front left hoof burst into stinging pain, and felt like it was about burst into flames. I collapsed back onto the ground, screaming out. I looked at it, only to see a deep cut running around the end of my hoof, bleeding a great amount of blood onto the ground under it. This was not good. I was in the middle of an open field, with a deep cut in my hoof while nopony was around. I couldn't just sit here, and bleed out, but if I move, I'll bleed out faster, but I could possibly make it back before that. That was a big risk, though. But, what else could I do? I can't give up, now, so I'll just have to take the risk, and trot to the nearest building. In one more attempt, I brought my hooves under me, and pushed up off the ground. I could feel the pain grow stronger as I kept lifting. Eventually, though, I managed to lift myself up. I began limping my way to Ponyville, doing my best to not put pressure on my hoof. Now that I'm moving, I can start to think clearly. Now, how did I get outside Ponyville, and, where's Darksun? I remember what happened before I blacked out, I think. Still though, there was no way that could have been real. It was too strange. It could have been a dream, but then something must have happened to put me asleep. Then again, there was that one hooded pony. Unless he was a part of the dream, too. If he wasn't, though, I hope Darksun is alright. After I get my hoof looked at, I should pay a visit to Darksun's house to see if she's alright. Darksun may be able to take care of herself, sometimes, but I can still worry. First, though. My hoof NEEDS medical attention. How did I even get this large cut, anyway? Well, I was by a river filled with large, sharp rocks. Possibly even some glasses. Something like that could have done it. Back on topic, who could I get to, at least, bandage up my hoof? The hospital was too far to reach, and I didn't know May ponies around the edge of Ponyville. Then, I finally thought of someone. Silvia could do it. Silvia has some medical experience, and always kept some bandages around, just in case. It's only a logical choice to go to her. Besides, she lived on the edge of Ponyville, and was closer than having travel further in than needed. With my choice made, I turned towards the directing that Silvia's house was in, and continued to limp. "Here I am." I said to myself. Her house was slightly dirty, and had some vines growing all around it. It was only a small difference, but I didn't really care about out. My hoof needed some bandages, so I couldn't really stop and question it, anyway. I limped over to the wooden door, and, unable to use my hooves, knocked on the door with my head, banging it hard enough to echo slightly, but weak enough that it didn't hurt. Besides, I was use to hitting my head against stuff at this point. It's another thing that just keeps happening, and I can't really explain why. After a couple of moments of waiting, I knocked on the door again. Just as I did so, the door flew open, and some dust flew into my face, making me fall back onto my back. My hoof stung slightly, as it seems some sand flew into the wound. I cried out, again, and grabbed my stinging hoof with the opposite hoof. I lifted my head up, still holding my hoof, and looked inside the house. It was empty. There wasn't even a sign of anypony ever living here. "Silvia?" I said, hearing it echo through the dust building. No response. Just dust and wind. I rolled onto my hooves, lifted myself up, again, and started to limp into the building, watching my step. "Hello?" Once again, there was no response. There wasn't any sign of anypony. Where was she? Possibly on a trip? But, if she was, she wouldn't just grab all her stuff, and leave. She has way too much to just pack and leave like that. I turned to my hoof, and quickly remembered why I was here. I made a quick dash for the cabinet, and pulled it open, revealing some bandages, and a bottle of Antibiotic ointment. "Ok, than. I can do this." I said grabbing the box of bandages with my teeth, set them down on top of the cabinet, and went to grab the bottle of Antibiotic. "Alright. I need to clean the wound." I turned to the sink in the kitchen, and hoped it still had running water. I quickly limped up to it, and turned the knob. Water came flowing out like a small stream. I put my hoof under the, surprisingly clean, water and let it soak for a couple of moments. I didn't know much about cleaning, and bandaging a wound, but this is what I was told. I pulled it out from under the water, and looked at it for a moment. It seemed clean. I turned back to the bottle of Antibiotic ointment, and forcefully pulled the lid off with my teeth, holding it down with my right hoof, and rubbed it on the cut lightly. After rubbing the ointment, I pulled open the box of bandages, and pulled one out. I started to roll it around the cut with care, making sure it’s tight, but not too tight. Finally, I tide it up. I brought it up, and looked at it, examining it as well as I could. By the looks of it, I'm still not going to be able to walk on it, but at least I did something to help it. I signed, feeling as if I didn't do it right, but I could really dwell on it. I had to see what was going on here. Where is Silvia? I walked over to the kitchen drawers, and began to slide them open, one at a time, seeing if there was any sign of Silvia, at all. Finally, I pulled open the drawer on the left end of the kitchen, and saw a piece of paper. It read: "Forget the reality around you, and hold on to the memories that keep you tied to your own." I stared at the piece of paper for a moment, thinking about what it meant. I brought my bandaged hoof up, being sure to move it carefully, and moved the note to the side, checking to see if anything was hidden under it. It seemed there was. A small, sliver colored rock. I looked at this rock for a moment, then moved my hoof to touch it. As my hoof made contact, my head began to spin, and ache. I could feel my mind go, as my vision became blurry, and faded to white. I blinked, looking down at a book titled "Spell Tricks for Writers". Though, something felt off about today. Just then, a large BOOM shook the world around me, leaving me disoriented. I ran outside to see what was going on. "What in the world?" I yelled, seeing a large beam of light shoot up from the Everfree forest. A horrible whooshing sound emanating from it, as it grew brighter, slowly faded, leaving behind some sort of white void. The void began to grow around the small spot, and spread through the tree's and into the open field, quickly gaining speed, and sucking up everything it touched. I watched as the grass field turned to white, and fade into the air, leaving behind an even larger void. Clearly this thing was going to devour anything it touched. "Isn't it beautiful?" A strange voice said. I turned around to see a stallion shrouded in a black coat, obscuring his face. I shifted, feeling the dust covered floor below me. I coughed, and tried to stand back up. My hoof was burning slightly. Some dirt possibly made its way into the wound. Groaning slightly, I moved my hooves under me, and lifted myself up. I opened my eye's, and wiped the dust off my face. Looking back at the ground, I saw the rock again. This time, though, it was colored black. I moved my hoof to pick it up, being slightly cautious this time. I lifted it up to my face, and got a closer look into it. There was a large crack running down the side of it, and it left it looking like two pieces glued together. What just happened, though? Was that a flashback? Or was I just seeing things? //-------------------------------------------------------// Rewriting //-------------------------------------------------------// Rewriting Currently, I'm rewriting Mirrors, and I'm deciding to rewrite this story too. I think it's pacing is dumb and I think it could be way better. This will be removed when it's rewriten fully.
