Double Diamond reached out to the mare. "You okay?" "Does it look like I'm okay?" the mare snapped. Double blushed. "Sorry. Here, I'll help you get out." "No. I got it." She used her Unicorn magic to pull herself out of the snow. "Wow, not even I can do that!" "Says the Earth Pony," Double blushed again. "Yeah," He extended his hoof to the girl. "I'm Double Diamond," She shook his hoof. "Starlight Glimmer," Double stared at Starlight. Her pink coat was so pretty, her mane so perfect, and her eyes... those awesome amethyst eyes... Double could get lost in them forever. She's so beautiful... Double snapped out of his daze. "Hey, Starlight, you look like you need a place to stay. I'll take you in." "Really? Thank you, Double Diamond." Double happily walked away, Starlight following him. *** Double Diamond woke up with a gasp. It was another one of his dreams about Starlight. He had been dreaming about her ever since she disappeared in that cave. They just wouldn't stop coming. So far, he had had one of him and Starlight on a date, them holding hooves, them about to kiss... If only I had stayed asleep a little while longer... "SNAP OUT OF IT!" Double scolded himself. But his mind couldn't stop thinking about her. "Starlight Glimmer As pretty as Celestia's sun's shimmer Her eyes are like an amethyst When they look at me, it's like a kiss..." Double gasped. "DID I JUST BURST INTO SONG?!" Realization hit him. The dreams, the song, his endless thinking about her, it all meant one thing. He had to go find her because he loved her.
Finding HelpView OnlineFinding Starlight GlimmerFinding HelpDouble Diamond went into town that afternoon. After deciding that he was going to find Starlight, he went to see if his friends (Party Favor, Sugar Belle, and Night Glider) wanted to help. He saw a huge crowd of ponies at Sugar Belle's bakery. Maybe Party Favor and Night Glider are there too. Double went inside. His suspicion was correct. He saw Night Glider and Party Favor at a table near the counter Sugar Belle was taking orders. Double pulled up a seat. "Hey, DD!" Night Glider welcomed. "Hey, guys," Double said, a twinge of uneasiness in his voice. "Dude, are you okay?" Party Favor asked. Sugar Belle approached their table. "Here are the brownies you two ordered," she said, handing Party and Night a plate of brownies. Sugar Belle turned to Double. "I'm guessing that you want your usual cupcake," Double nodded. Sugar went to the kitchen, and returned with a vanilla cupcake. "You look worried. Let's talk about it." Sugar pulled up a chair. Double took a deep breath. "I think we should go find Starlight," Sugar, Night, and Party gasped. "Find Starlight?!" Party exclaimed. "But why?" Sugar inquired. "We're already happy with our cutie marks. Why bring her back just so she can take our marks away again?" Night's jaw dropped. Double sighed in regret. He knew he shouldn't have told them, for they would just overreact. He was about to tell them the reason why, but he stopped. They would just be even more surprised. "Um, the reason why is... she could be cold, starving, thirsty, all that stuff. I mean, we should at least show sympathy for her." Double fibbed. "She didn't show sympathy for us. Why do the opposite for her?" Night argued. Double chuckled nervously. "Right. Why? Oh, I gotta go. Bye!" He ran out of the bakery to catch the next train to Ponyville. *** "Thank you for taking me in, Double," Starlight thanked once they were in Double's cottage. "Hey, you were alone in the slopes. What else was I supposed to do? Leave you there to die?" Double smiled. "Well, everypony else did," "Why did they do that?" "I don't know," "I'm so sorry. Sit down on the couch, and I'll get you some tomato soup." Starlight did as Double said. After a few minutes in the kitchen, Double came back with a tomato soup for Starlight and hot chocolate for himself. "Thank you," Starlight said, using her magic to take the tomato soup from Double. As she sipped her soup, Starlight got an idea and decided to share it with Double. "I'm actually gonna have my revenge!" "What will you do?" "Okay, first, I'm going to paint an equal sign on my flank, and pretend that it's actually my real cutie mark. Then, I'll find something and call it the Staff of Sameness. I'll use it to take their cutie marks and replace them with equal signs. Then, I'll claim that I did it to bring equality. Those midgets will think that cutie marks are bad things!" Double gasped. "But... that's bad..." "Serves them right! You will keep my secret though, right?" "Well... um..." "Please?" Starlight batted her amethyst eyes. Oh, her beauty... "Yes!" Double blurted out. "Oh, thank you!" Starlight then kissed Double on the cheek. Double was in a daze for the rest of the day. *** Double woke up in a flash. He had fell asleep on the train, and had another Starlight dream. It was another flashback of what happened when they were at his place. Lucky for him, he was now in Ponyville. Thanks to some ponies, he learned the location of where Twilight Sparkle and her friends were. He knocked on the castle door. Twilight opened it. "Oh, hello, Double Diamond. Come in and make yourself comfortable." The Alicorn led Double to a room where Fluttershy, Spike, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity were sitting on thrones. Once seated, Double asked, "Will you help me find Starlight Glimmer?" "WHAT?!" the girls screamed. "Why do you want to find her?" Rarity questioned. "She banned competitions!" Rainbow hollered. "She wasn't nice!" Pinkie countered. "She practically forced us to be friends with folks we didn't know!" Applejack yelled. "She got poor Party Favor into trouble!" Fluttershy cried. "I know. It's just that... she could be in trouble." Double said. "Double Diamond, I think it's best she stay in the cave until she's learned her lesson. That's what I said to Rainbow Dash about Trixie, and I'm giving you the same advice. Let her cool down, and maybe she'll come back." Twilight suggested. "Oh, okay," Double walked out and caught the next train to his village. Once there, he looked in the direction of the cave. "Don't worry, Starlight. I'll find you, even if it's the last thing I do."

"I lost the cutie marks, stood idly by while the villagers got their cutie marks back, and practically banished myself into this cave! Why are you so stupid, Starlight Glimmer?!" she fumed. "Don't be angry. Similar things happened to us too." a voice behind her said. Starlight whipped around and shrank. Standing in front of her were all the villains that tried to take over Equestria! King Sombra, Queen Chrysalis, the Sirens, Nightmare Moon, and everyone else. King Sombra walked closer to Starlight. "Yessssss. They did happen. But it's not your fault. It's those six ponies' fault. Tell us, Starlight Glimmer, who do you want your revenge on?" Starlight was no longer afraid, and bravely gave her answer to Sombra. "Everypony that ruined me. Those six you pointed out; the Mane Six. Also everypony in the village... except Double Diamond." "Who is this Double Diamond?" Nightmare Moon asked. "The one who saved me on the slopes. The one that took me in. The one that kept my secret, even though it could get me in trouble. The one I... love." "Love? LOVE?! Starlight Glimmer, love is a weakness. First the pony is all, 'I love you!', but then they turn around and just back-stab you! That's why my Changelings and I fed on love; because we wanted to see them all weak. But no, we were ruined!" Queen Chrysalis yelled. "She is right It is a weakness We wanted to be loved Because our singing was beautiful, and it could've left them powerless. "But no That didn't happen 'Cause the Mane Six Made our ratings zero out of ten. "And then they hated us Because we tried to make them powerless And then they hated us Because we tried to make them powerless. "She is right." the Sirens, Sonata Dusk, Adagio Dazzle, and Aria Blaze sang. "Gosh, I had always liked the idea of love, though," Starlight said. "Well, you shouldn't have! It's a horrible, horrible thing! But, on the bright side, really tasty." Chrysalis exclaimed. "Anyway, let's tell her what we do here in this cave. Start it up, Nightmare Moon." Sombra said. Nightmare did as he said. "Yes, well, I was the first villain to come to this cave. It was rather boring, sitting here all alone, picking at rocks, wondering about the misery it would've been to stay as Princess Luna. She should actually be thankful that I was nice enough to not bring her to the cave with me. "Anyway, one day, Queen Chrysalis came with her Changelings. They were pretty angry, for they had just lost a battle. We started conversing, and got a good idea. But we needed more villains to come. "Eventually, King Sombra, Demon Sunset Shimmer, Tirek, and the Sirens, Sonata, Aria, and Adagio came. Chrysalis and I shared the idea with them, and they loved it. Today, we were just about to do the plan when you came." "What was the plan?" Starlight asked. "The plan was to spread our revenge across Equestria. Do you want to join us?" Starlight's lips curled into an evil smile. "Yes, I do,"
Love or Revenge?View OnlineFinding Starlight GlimmerLove or Revenge?Double Diamond used his skis to get to the cave. Once there, he look at it nervously and started weighing his options. He could abandon his plans to save Starlight and just go home. Or, he could go in the cave and risk never being seen again. "Love or life?" Double thought aloud. He then remembered the mare that was freezing cold on the slopes, with no food, nothing to drink, no family. Starlight could be that mare right now. He also remembered when he let the mare stay at his house and the kiss she gave him. That's when he made his decision. "I choose love!" he declared as he ran into the cave. Meanwhile, Sugar Belle, Party Favor, and Night Glider were rushing up the mountain with Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Spike. "Ya sure ya saw him coming here?" Applejack questioned. "Yes! He was skiing down here! We think he's going to save Starlight!" Night exclaimed. "She's right! He came to ask us about it yesterday afternoon!" Party agreed. "Now that you mention it, he asked about the same thing too," Pinkie said. The group gasped. "We need to get to him, fast!" Twilight ordered. The others nodded and ran faster. Once they reached the cave, they gasped again. Nopony was there. All that was seen was a pair of skis. "We're too late!" the princess observed. *** Double walked cautiously through the eerie cave. "Hello! Starlight? Are you there?" He yelped as somepony jumped in his face. "I AM NIGHTMARE MOON! WHO MAY YOU BE?" she hollered. "D-d-d-double D-diamond," Double whimpered. "WELCOME TO THE CAVE, DOUBLE- hey, wait a minute! Did you say your name was Double Diamond?" "Y-y-y-y-yes," Nightmare began dragging Double by the hooves. "STARLIGHT GLIMMER! WE HAVE FOUND THE CREATURE OF YOUR NIGHTMARES!" "Starlight Glimmer? She's alive? Can I see her?" Double pleaded. "Maybe. If Queen Chrysalis doesn't want you dead." "DEAD?! QUEEN CHRYSALIS?!" Nightmare ignored Double and continued dragging him. When she finally stopped, Double was in front of Starlight Glimmer. Even after her time in the dusty and dirty cave, she was still the most beautiful creature in Equestria in Double's view. He wriggled out of Nightmare's grasp and began running towards Starlight. "Get away from me," Starlight scoffed. Double stopped mid-run. "What?" "Get away from me, Double Diamond. I've changed. And now, I don't love you. Instead, I'm going to help the villains of Equestria spread their revenge on Equestria!" "Villains?!" Starlight clicked her tongue, and immediately, all the villains that took over Equestria or the human world appeared behind her. Double shrieked. "Yep, I changed big time. I'm a bad girl now. Well, a badder girl." Starlight smirked. "Starlight, what happened? Why are you doing this?" "Because of what the village did to me!" "But I gave you mercy! And you just said that you loved me!" "Well, Queen Chrysalis here gave me a pep talk about how bad love actually is," the mare pointed to the Changeling Queen. "Thank you, Starlight Glimmer! I'm touched." Chrysalis smiled. "But... Starlight, if you had a choice, would you choose love or revenge?" Double asked. "Well, when you put it that way, revenge!" Starlight beamed. Double's jaw dropped. The Sirens approached Double. "Any last words?" Adagio asked. "Starlight Glimmer, no matter how many mistakes you make, I will always love you!" he admitted. The Sirens used their singing voices to sing a high-pitched tune that blew Double out of the cave. "Now that he's gone, we can spread our revenge across Equestria!" Nightmare declared. All the villains piled out of the cave.

He loved her more than life itself. Why didn't she return that feeling? "Starlight Glimmer The love you had for me just simmered Why did they do that to you? Why so soon?" Double gritted his teeth, annoyed. "WHY DO I KEEP BREAKING INTO SONG?!" Because you love her. his mind said. "You're right..." Double immediately shook his head. "No! She ditched me!" Then why are you wallowing in sorrow about her? "Because... because..." Double didn't know what to say. His conscience was right; he did love her. Double straightened up. "I need to get her back!" he exclaimed. He skied faster, and saw the band of villains torturing his village. Starlight grew as tall as a giant, and stomped over the villagers. Night Glider flew up to Starlight's face. "Hey! Starlight Glimmer! What the heck are you doing?" "What am I doing? I'm giving you all payback! And the rest of Equestria will suffer the same fate!" she hollered. She was so loud that Night tumbled into Party Favor and Sugar Belle's hooves. "Why, Starlight? What did we do to you?" Sugar Belle pleaded. "Why? WHY?! Because you villagers humiliated me! I am here for my revenge!" Starlight was just about to strike Sugar Belle when Double ran in front of her. "STOP!" Starlight scowled. "Double Diamond? What do you want?" "I want you to stop. Look at this chaos you've caused with the villains. Do you really want to be a part of it?" Double explained. "Actually, y- wait. What are you saying?" "I'm saying that you need to stop," Starlight went back to her regular size and took Double's hooves. She closed her eyes and leaned toward him. When Double realized what she was trying to do, he beamed and started to do the same thing as Starlight. It was Nightmare Moon who stopped them. "YOU BETRAYED US, STARLIGHT GLIMMER!" "Nightmare, I want out of this," Starlight declared. Queen Chrysalis scoffed. "I guess love overcame you. What a pity. Oh well, now we can destroy you and your boyfriend too! We'll start with Glimmer." Chrysalis was just about to hit her when Double stepped in between them. "STOP!" Chrysalis, not noticing who she was striking, made Double unconscious. "Double Diamond!" Starlight cried. She vigorously shook him. "Wake up, Double. Now. Stop pretending and wake up." To her dismay, Double's blue eyes didn't open. Starlight's purple eyes filled with tears as she sobbed in Double's chest. "I love you," Though she didn't notice, Double woke up and looked at Starlight. He grinned as he said, "I love you too." Starlight's head shot up when she heard his voice and he saw Double smiling. "What did you say?" "I love you too," Double repeated. Starlight couldn't keep her excitement as she kissed Double passionately on the lips. Double's eyes widened in surprise, but soon they closed blissfully. Once they broke apart, Double uttered, "Marry me," "YES!" They kissed again. Starlight vowed to be a better citizen, and everypony else believed her. Fortunately, Starlight was true to her word. And for the villains? Apparently, Starlight and Double's kiss was magical, and it blasted the villains somewhere that's far, far away, and never to be seen again. And this time, it was really true.
