Chapters Misty looked out the window on the train she rode on. Seeing her house in the distance, she grabbed her saddlebag, not bothering to put it on her. Instead, she carried it in her mouth and flew out the window. No pony called back to her or shouted. They just barley glanced at her, shurgged, and put their attention back to whatever they were doing.
At her house, Misty grabbed a peice of paper out of her saddlebag and stuck it on her front door. Her house, made of cloud, wavered a little, then stopped, as if relaxing. Misty looked around quickly. There was nobody there. Spreding her butterfly-like wings, she shot into the air and began to dive down.
She knew the foals didn't want her to leave, but, she always hated her house and her neighborhood. Not because it was horrible, or the ponies there sweared, it was because Misty had an adventerous side! She longed to see worlds beyond! She worked up the money foal-sitting for 10 bits an hour. She finally made enough today to move. She coud hardly wait to see what Ponyville was like!
They came by her house later that night. They knocked on the door twice and waited about two minutes between each time.
"Why can't we just leave?" A hefty pony asked to a small, anxious one.
"He said to take her with us." Anxious pony said, nervously looking around. "And...I think we may be 'fired' if we don't do as he says." Anxious pony made air quotes with his wings when he said 'fired', making him lift into the air a bit. He stumbled onto the soft cloud and quickly rose again, only to prance in place as if he had to use the restroom really bad.
Hefty pony knocked again, making the note on the door fall down. Noticing it, he lowered his head and squinted.
"I wish I were an alicorn." he said, struggling to read the print Misty put down less than 12 hours ago. Anxious pony let out an annoyed puff and grabbed the note with his mouth before Hefty could finish reading it.
"You're always saying that." Anxious said, struggling to talk with a mouth full of paper. "Now, lets go. We've alreday been here to long. It's clear she isn't here." Anxious rose into the air, a little wobbly, then zoomed away. Hefty soon caught up with him.
"She's a lucky mare." Hefty pointed out.
"Yeah." Anxious said, disappointed. "To bad we aren't lucky stallions."

Misty landed at the door to her new cottage. It took her all night to fly to Ponyville from her home above Manehatten. She was EXHAUSTED! She could hardly wait to hit the hay, pun intended. She expected the door to be unlocked, and partly open, so she walked right into the door, bumping her head light enough to not make a huge sound, but, hard enough to give her a minor headache.
Some ponies looked at her and smiled or giggled. She was used to this behavior, having flown down to visit earth and unicorn friends in Manehatten. She knocked on the door and stood back a little. She barley had time to breathe before the door swung open, as if the pony inside had been expecting someone. Seeing Misty there, the pony, which had a dusty red mane and tail, swamp green eyes, and a sand-colored coat, stared at her with a grim expression on her face.
"What?" The mare snapped, clearly agitated about something. For a moment, Misty wondered if she had the wrong address.
"Uh, is this 169 Sugar Cube Street?" Misty asked as politely as she could.
"Yeah, what do you want?" The mare growled at her. Misty, surprised by this attitude, was taken aback. Geez, and I thought MANEHATTEN ponies were rude! She thought.
"Oh, well, you see, I bought this house, and, your kind of on my property." Misty said shyly.
The mare stood in the doorway, not looking like she would move anytime soon. "I need to see your contract, then I'll leave." She said, still with an aggressive tone in her voice.
The contract! I left it at home! Misty thought in horror. She let out a nervous chuckle and started to explain that she left her contract all the way back in Cloudsdale, Manehatten.
The mare didn't seem to care that much, because she turned her back on Misty, and almost closed the door in her face.
"I don't have any place to sleep tonight." Misty mentioned quietly. Seeming to have a small change in heart, the mare turned back around and stuck out her hoof, as if pointing at Misty.
"You can stay with me for 2 moons, that's it. " She said. "And I'm charging 10 bits each moon. Do we have a deal?"
Misty hesitated for a second. The sun was already setting, thanks to Celestia, and she had 20 bits left over. She supposed two nights sleep were more important now than ever.
"Deal." Misty said. They shook on it. "By the way, I have some friends coming over for a sleep over tonight." The mare said, letting Misty inside her cozy, compact cottage. She then got up into Misty's face. "Don't make a sound. I don't want them thinking I'm babysitting some foal!"
Misty, never one to fight, nodded and backed away slowly. "By the way." The mare said. "What's your name?"
"Misty." Misty said. "What about you?"
The mare paused for a second, either trying to remember or hesitating, Misty couldn't tell. The look on her face was neutral. "Roseluck." Roseluck finally said.
Misty could barley say "nice to meet" before the doorbell rang.
When Misty woke up and appered downstairs, she saw two new ponies, both earth, were sleeping in sleeping ags right next to the stair case. One pony was pink, with ligh green, curly mane and tail, and green eyes. The other was a desert pink, with a golden mane, tail, and eyes. She had a flower in her mane. Misty had to practiccly fly over them to rech the kitchen.
There, she saw Roseluck, drinking water. Misty wasn't sure from last night, the lighting had been weird on her eyes and she was positive Roseluck was a unicorn. It would explain why she was snobby, usually, Canerlot unicorns were snobby. Instead, she was a basic earth pony. Roseluck noticed Misty hovering in the doorway and the annoyed look and tone came back from last night.
"Just don't be in this house during the day." Roseluck said. Misty, hurt by these words, fell to the florr with a THUD. Loud enough to wake the two sleeping ponies. The one with the flower in her mane moaned.
"Dasiy, what time is it?" She asked sleepily.
Daisy's eyes shot open, starled by her friends voice. "Lily! Don't scare me like that!" Misty could sense a fight about to break out. She slipped out the back door, not wanting anymore drama for at least one moon. All she wanted was some peace and quiet. She knew exactly where to head. She hoped somepony would help her in the right direction of the library.

"Master, she was'nt home. We were to late." Anxious pony said shakily. He and Hefty pony traded the note, so, now, Hefty held the note.
"WHAT?!" The Master boomed out. Being held in the shadows, it only made him that much more terrifying and suspicious. "You said you had a note! SHOW ME THE NOTE!"
Hefty shakily stepped up and placed the note on His desk. The Master picked up the note, his aura glowing a sickly burnt orange, difficult to see in the darkened room.
"Ah, yes, 169 Sugar Cube Street...Ponyville..." He laughed, almost sinister. "Stallions, I have a new job for you."
A lavendar unicorn head popped out of the library door, looking a bit stressed.
"Is this the Golden Oaks Library?" Misty asked, although she knew the answer already. A pink pony with a dark pink mane was bouncing beside her. She had been chatting non-stop ever since Misty passed Sugar Cube Corner. The pony claimed she was heading towards the library as well.
The unicorn shifted her eyes to the pink pony. "Oh, hi, Pinkie!" She said, as if Misty were just a block of glass. "Come in. It's about time you made it." The unicorn paused for a moment, finally noticing Misty. Her eyes went from Pinkie to Misty then back again. "Brig her in, too." The unicorn said, opening the door wide enough for both ponies to walk in. She quickly closed the door behind her.
Now that she was seeing the unicorn in whole, and not just a head, Misty noticed that this unicorn was an alicorn. She also noticed that this didn't look like any library she'd ever seen. It was a giant, magnnificant, castle. In the center of the room, there were 'thrones', each with a different symbol on them. Each one inhabiting a pony, with the same symbol as their cutie mark.
Misty turned back to the lavedar alicorn, bowing. She noticed the princess blushed. "Are you Princess Twilight Sparkle?" Misty asked in awe. Twilight nodded, still a bit pink in the cheeks.
"Twilight is fine." She said. isty barley heard her, though, because she was going over to meet the other ponies. She stood in the center of the room, eager. "Hi! I'm Misty! I'm from Cloudsdale, Manehatten. What are all of your names?"
The room was silent and Misty, realizing what she just did, began to blush. A light blue pegasus with a rainbow mane came up to her. "I like your wings." She said.
A orange earth pony nodded. "And your skin is definitly different."
A white unicorn squeled, making everyone look towards her. "And your hair is simply divine!!" She said. "You must tell me how to style it like that!"
Twilight came up to Misty's side and pointed at each pony, listing off names. "Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie." She pointed at a purple dragon with green spikes. "And this is Spike." Spike waved at her, and she waved back.
Misty cleared her throat. "I thought there might be a library here..."
Twilight's eyes welled up with tears, clearly upset. "Oh, uhm, it got destroyed...it's kind of a long story." Fluttershy said. Misty nodded, looking back at the princess.
"Sorry." She said. "I didn't know."
"It's okay." Twilight said, calming down.
"Are ponies here usually this mean, or, is a virus going around...?" Misty asked.
"That's why we're all here." Twilight said. "Somepony, I don't know who, has cast a spell which makes everyone as mean as they can get." She paused, hearing a commotion on the other side of the room. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were arguing over something. From the little words she got, it wasn't that big a deal. Twilight looked upset. "It looks like it's already affecting us. If The Elements of Harmony are damaged by bad behavior, we won't be able to bring...well...harmony!"
"I thought the Elemnts got destroyed." Spike sid, confuzed.
"Th stones did." Twilight explained. "I'm talking about my friends. If were not friends anymore, non of us would want to bring back harmony, and chaos would reign all over again!"

Back at Roseluck's house, there was a loud knocking on the door. Daisy and Lily were already gone. Misty wasn't back yet. Roseluck was alone. She opened up the door and saw two stalllions there. One was hefty, the other was skinny and anxious.
"Can I help you?" She asked. She was still tired from the sleepover last night.
"Yes, we are looking for this mare." Hefty pony said. He held up a picture of Misty.
"Oh, she's at the library." Roseluck said. She began to close the door.
"Wait!" Anxious said. "Here, have this as our token of...appriciation." He held out a carrot. Roseluck knew she should'nt take food from strangers, but she was so hungry, and she didn't feel like cooking anything. She smiled.
"Thank you." She said, before taking a bite out of it.Before feeling extremly dizzy, watching evil grins spread across the stallions faces. Before falling to the floor with a THUD.
A very annoyed Twilight opened the door and Misty flew inside anxiously.
"What's wrong?" Twilight asked.
"Bad pegasus beat up broken hoof blacked out." Misty spurted out in one breath. The main six stopped arguing to listen.
"Wait, what?" Spike asked. Misty retold them the story of what happened when she got home. Roseluck told them how she got knocked out. Everyone was silent for a beat when they were done talking.
"This definitely sounds like someone new." Rainbow said. "Maybe it's some type of monster we can beat up!" She continued, doing a flip in the air.
"What is it with you and monsters?" Applejack asked.
"Darlings, lets not get into another fight...again..." Rarity said, trying to calm them down. Twilight, who was looking at the map in the center of the room, (Misty noticed it wasn't there before)
"It's definitely somepony, or something, we haven't dealt with before." She looked at Misty. "Have you ever been in the Everfree Forest?" She asked. Misty shook her head. "The map here says there's something on the other side of the Everfree. Maybe its the cure." She said the last part with tons of hope.
"Well, we should check it out." Pinkie said. She was already grabbing her saddlebag. The rest of the main six were to, except Fluttershy.
"I think I'll stay here with Roseluck." Fluttershy whispered.
"I'm coming." Roseluck replied. "This 'chariot' is comfy. Plus, I've never been in the Everfree." She smiled, leaned back, and closed her eyes.
Fluttershy, reluctant, pulled on her saddlebag. Twilight looked around. "Are we ready?" She asked. Everypony nodded.
"Alright." Twilight said, her voice filled with determination. "Let's go!"
*******************************
Hefty pony opened his eyes and rubbed the back of his head. It was hurting him just to blink. Skinny pony was still groaning. Misty must've kicked him hard. Hefty looked around. It was daytime, so, he must've been knocked out all night. He heard a slight chirp and picked up his cell.
"Did you get her?" Master asked.
"No." Hefty pony replied. "She banged me and Thunderlane pretty bad."
Master growled. "Hoops, your such an IDIOT!" There was a slight pause. "I looked up her location for you." Master said. "She's headed towards the Everfree. Be careful, she has seven other ponies as back up. Don't screw this one up, Hoops." The call ended with a faint beep.
Misty got back to Roseluck's cottage later that night. She was expecting to see other ponies, or maybe hear Roseluck's voice drift from the kitchen in a not-welcoming manner. She was prepared to face Rose's wrath, for she knew what was casing it now. What she hadn't prepared for was two Pegasus, waiting for her in the kitchen. She definitely hadn't prepared for a knocked-out Roseluck right at her feet as she opened the front door.
"Oh, hi..." She said nervously as the two stallions took a slow step toward her, an evil grin spreading across their faces. She took one step back, accidentally stepping on Roseluck's back hoof. This woke Rose with a start as immediate pain shot through her.
"Mist, your on my hoof." Rose said, clearly not seeing the danger of the situation. Misty rose to the ceiling so Rose could get up. The two Pegasus rose to the ceiling as well. Without warning, the skinny one shot right at Misty, pinning her against the wall. Misty tried to get free, but realized it was no use. He was stronger than he looked!
"Roseluck, get out of here!" Misty yelled at her. Roseluck was looking up in terror as Misty kicked the skinny right in the stomach. In pain, he folded up his wings and fell to the floor, inches away from the frozen Roseluck. Hefty pony was looking from Misty to his partner, as if unsure of what to do. Misty sighed, and flew at him, full speed. She bashed his head against the wall, making a funny noise. Knocked out, he fell to the ground as well.
"Rose, I said we have to leave!" Misty said. She didn't know these Pegasus, but she had a feeling they were bad news. Roseluck finally got out of her trance, stood up, and began to run. Sharp pain blasted through her hoof, and she collapsed in the doorway. "What's wrong?" Misty asked, worried that the pegasus boys would get up at any second.
"I think you broke my hoof." Roseluck explained, pointing at her hoof. It was limp. Misty looked around quickly. She noticed Skinny was starting to stir.
"Just...use this." Misty said, finding a small cart. She found a rope and tied it to herself, making a small, make-shift chariot.
Roseluck began to climb in, fitting perfectly. "This is the cart I use to sell flowers, though." She said grumpily.
Misty scowled at her. "Fine, stay here and let them kill you. I'm going to try to find help. I am sick and tired of your attitude."
Roseluck stayed silent after that. Misty flew at full speed towards Twilight's castle. She knew this pony would love to hear what happened. Maybe it would help them with fixing the problem, too.
