“Do you think you can solve it? Is it worth searching for it?”
“I'm not sure yet. I think it's worth it just in case.”
“Okay.” Cold slowly pivoted around, searching her field of vision for the faintest hint of a glimmer. There was nothing.
“So, we have to move if we want to locate it again.” She thought for a moment. “I'll take care of it. You keep working on the puzzle.”
Hesitantly, Cold moistened her lips, then she began walking forward, all the while looking out for the light and counting her steps. When she reached thirty, she turned around and walked sixty steps in the opposite direction.
Nothing.
Biting her lip, Cold turned around yet again and walked thirty steps into the direction from which she had come. At this point, it was reasonable to assume that inaccurate navigation had brought her a fair bit away from her starting point. Nonetheless, she turned around at a ninety degree angle, and began to pursue this new direction.
Then, just half a dozen steps into her walk, she could see a light at the left border of her vision. Her initial reaction was one of relief, which was quickly mixed with doubts. She knew nothing about the way any of this functioned – what she saw now could easily be a source
