Derpy, a gray pegasus with gold eyes and hair and bubble cutie mark, was on her way to the Carousel Boutique to order her wedding dress. She was teeming with excitement today. Yesterday, her 4-year sweetheart, Time Turner Whooves, a brown earth pony with brown hair, blue eyes, and an hourglass cutie mark, proposed to her over a romantic dinner in Canterlot. When she said yes to his proposal, he gave a shout of delight. They were getting married!
So Derpy wanted to get married as soon as possible. So did Time Turner. So they decided that when everything was set up, they would finally have their ceremony. They even made a list of preparations with a little help from Time’s sister, Twilight Sparkle, a purple unicorn with purple eye, dark navy blue hair with a pink-and-lavender double-streak and a 6-point-star-with-5-white-stars cutie mark.
So the lucky mare was on her way to Rarity’s shop to get her measurements to make her dress. Rarity was a white unicorn with blue eyes, purple, curly hair, and a 3-blue-diamond cutie mark. Derpy couldn’t wait to get everything done. She had her copy of the list:
wedding dress
wedding veil
bride’s horseshoes
groom’s horseshoes
groom’s tuxedo
groom’s tie
groom’s hat
best mare/colt
bride’s maids
decorations
cake
drinks
food
invitations
bride’s maids’ dresses
best mare/colt’s ensemble
She wanted everything to be perfect. But hold on… Time’s father was a royal adviser. That made his family nobility. Could life get any crazier?! But wait! Since Time’s brother Shining Armor married Princess Cadence, his family was not only nobility, they were royalty!
Which meant that if Derpy married Time, she would become a princess. Awkward. Oh, well. She didn’t care. She loved him too much to turn him down.
Meanwhile…
Time was going to Sugarcube Corner to ask about the catering program. He was also going to talk to Pinkie Pie Sandwich, a pink earth pony with even pinker hair and blue eyes, and a 3-balloon cutie mark, the town’s local party planner. She was married herself to a stallion named Cheese Sandwich, a mustard-yellow earth pony with green eyes and brown hair with a grilled cheese sandwich cutie mark. They were both Earth ponies, and they were both party planners, so their marriage made sense. If anything could make sense with Pinkie Pie Sandwich. She was the craziest pony in Equestria. If not the whole world.
Anyway, as Time opened the door to the famous bakery, he saw the lights were off. It was very quiet. “SURPRISE!!!!” Until he heard the loud surprise shout. It looked like nearly everypony in town was here. And that was saying something. There were at least 234 ponies in Ponyville.
“What is going on here?!” Time yelled, shocked. He had no idea so many ponies could fit in this tiny building. It was just like his TARDIS. In a bakery-like way, of course.
“We’re celebrating your engagement!” yelled a mare in the back. The speaker came forward, and Time saw that it was Pinkie herself. Pfft. Typical Pinkie. She always found something to celebrate.
“I-I-I w-w-was on-n-nly c-c-com-m-ming-g t-to s-s-set-t-t u-up th-the c-c-catering-g-g f-f-f-or-r th-the w-w-wedd-dding-g-g. A-a-and a-a-als-s-so t-t-to t-t-talk-k-k ab-b-bout-t th-the dec-c-core for the wedding,” he stammered. Then he noticed his sister, Twilight. She looked happier than she’d ever been.
“I’ve got news, too, Time,” she said. Her eyes lit up like a puppy. “I’m getting married, too!” She squealed so much it sounded like the long version of the letter ‘e’. A very long version.
Time was completly flabbergasted. He couldn’t believe his ears. His sister was getting married, too! I wonder who’s the lucky colt, he thought. Twilight seemed to read his mind, which was typical for her since she was and alicorn and all.
“Oh, he’s right over here,” she said. “Holograph!” As soon as she said those words, a blue unicorn stallion with a thinning mane, a blue tail, blue eyes, and a red cross cutie mark stepped out of the crowd. He also had a bit of a goatee, kind of like that one strange guy, Discord.
“Hello,” he said. He had a voice that was a cross between tenor and bass. It was like he was from Trottingham but was raised in Equestria. “So your Twilight’s older brother. Half brother, right?” Time nodded. “Well, it’s nice to finally meet you,” Holograph told him. He stuck out his blue hoof in a friendly gesture.
“Same for you,” Time replied. He shook Holograph's hoof. Even more awkward. Well, it looks like it’s going to be a double wedding, Time thought. This was going to be a long day.
