Chapter four: Bringing Rainbows into her Mind

Rainbow Dash flew laps around Ponyville. For her this was simply another day, another day to perfect her skills for when the Wonderbolts finally pull their collective heads out of their flanks and make her a full-fledged member.

She would train every single second of every single day to make that day happen. Sadly, she was in no control of that. Some things were simply out of her hooves.

After the third barrel roll, she went for the standard loop and into the buccaneer blaze. A move so awesome you were legally required to wear shades when watching it. Literally, Mayor Mare past the ordinance last week.

She completed the loop without issue, on the downward arch, she increased her speed ten fold before going up and into the blaze.

She slammed muzzle first into an invisible wall of magic. Her world became pain as she cried out, loudly. Her muzzle hurt, her face hurt, her body hurt, everything simply hurt. Her instincts caused her to flap her wing and prevented her from falling to the ground. When she opened her eyes and rubbed her sore muzzle she glanced around, about to pull a full rage on whoever was responsible.

The ongoing rage died in her throat and her eyes went wide. In front of her, still a couple feet away, stood Twilight’s castle. That was not what caught her on surprise. It was the shield that surrounded it, but that was also inches away. Rainbow lifted her hoof and pushed forwards. Even before she touched the shield, she felt a shock and pulled back immediately.

“Ouch! What the hay is going on?” Rainbow cursed and rubbed her sore spots. She wondered why she wasn’t dead, crashing snout first at the speed she was should’ve broken her neck.

“I’m not in the mood for any visitors right now, Rainbow. I slowed your flight to a point that you only receive non-fatal injuries. Now go, please,” It was Twilight’s voice, but Rainbow couldn’t see her, it was more like her voice came from everywhere. What disturbed her the most was the way it sounded.

“Twilight? What’s going on?” Rainbow asked.

“Nothing. Please let it be and go home,” the voice shivered.

“What? Go home? Nu-uh, I’m the element of loyalty and your friend, I’m not going anywhere Twi!” Rainbow said and sat down in front of the field.

“Rainbow! Now’s not the time, please, please just leave me alone!” the voice grew louder, annoyed, angry now.

“I’m staying right here!” Rainbow landed on her flank and crossed her front hooves, unwilling to move from that spot until Twilight let her in. She had no idea what was going on, but it didn’t take an egghead to know that it was something bad.

“We’ll see about that.” Twilight’s voice faded after that, leaving Rainbow pouting in front of the shield.

***

Twilight was laying in her bed, crying. The whole palace was abandoned, nopony was here since the incident with Celestia. She even teleported Spike to Rarity’s after he tried to snap her out. Now Rainbow sat in front of her castle and she had no idea what to do.

Her broken mind told her the story all too well, but it did it in the worst ways possible. It made her relive it, every time she closed her eyes she saw it, or worse, she felt it. Celestia had left her marks on her brain, almost like she branded her with fire. However, despite it all, she could feel that Rainbow indeed stayed where she was, loyal to her words. Even after slamming muzzle first into her shield.

Twilight wanted to help her friend, she wanted to apologize for hurting her, but she couldn’t. It was like somepony set the transmission between her mind and body on stop. On full stop, that is. No matter what she tried, it wouldn’t work. The small contact via magic with Rainbow took most of her willpower. She simply didn’t have it in her to talk with somepony right now.

Looking out of the window at the sun, Twilight shivered. “Why?” she whispered.

Then the strangest thing happened, the sun was gone, just gone.

The whole sky turned black, night black, and she could see that the winds were more than just freshening up, they were blowing, and hard. Whatever was happening, it was going bad, very, very bad. Out the window she caught sight of snapping branches and some smaller, light objects flying around. The storm came out of nowhere and was only getting stronger. ‘Rainbow!’ her mind screamed at her at the possible fate of her friend.

She lowered the shield outside long enough for the surprised Rainbow to fly through before raising it again. Then she build up another one directly around her bedroom. No matter how concerned she was, her mind wasn’t ready to talk to anypony yet.

Too soon she could hear somepony walking in front of her door, followed by a loud shriek that was caused from Rainbow finding out there was another shield directly in front of her bedroom. After a while, she also heard a yawn and some smaller shuffling. Twilight figured that Rainbow had either fallen asleep or was at least making herself comfortable.

Twilight herself was fighting with sleep. She was exhausted and hurt in various ways. Celestia hadn’t healed every wound in her womb, but they weren’t the deepest. The other wounds were forcing their tribute on the alicorn. However, the sandpony would take his due in the end. Gradually, she felt slumber taking her over. Twilight fought against it as long as she could, but it would not be denied. She fought against it as long as she could because she knew her shields wouldn’t hold in her sleep.

***

“Time for an answer, Twi,” Rainbow said as she poked her friend in her side. The contact was a mistake as it sent a shiver of pain up the alicorn’s side. Twilight lashed out without thinking, her reflexes seeking to defend herself against another possible attack.

Her magic slammed against the cyan pegasus and sent her flying against the wall with a cry of pain. Twilight’s eyes went wide as she saw her friend so hurt. “Rainbow!” she screamed as she jumped out of bed, rushing to her friend’s side.

While her body still hurt from before, she didn’t care about that now. She knew the strength of that spell, it could have caused real damage if it hit the wrong area.

“Okay, that hurt,” Rainbow said as she tried to pick herself off the ground. It was to no avail. Her left front hoof was in too much pain.

Twilight rushed to her side and grabbed her friend, “Rainbow, I’m so, so sorry.”

“Hey, what’s a few broken bones between friends,” Rainbow started laughing, only to stop when her side hurt.

Twilight scanned her with her magic, revealed when most of the damage was relieved to be superficial. “Well, the good news is I didn’t actually break anything.”

“Oh that’s the good news, what’s the bad?” Rainbow rolled her eyes.

“You’re not going to be able to walk or fly for a while. Probably the rest of the night.”

“Wow, Sparkles, if you wanted to get me in bed that badly all you had to do was ask.”

Twilight dropped her at that comment. Rainbow’s head fell to the ground with a loud thud. “What the buck!?”

“That’s not funny!” Twilight yelled out before catching herself.

Rainbow sat up, Twilight had been right, she couldn’t stand up, not on her own, “What happened?” Rainbow asked with a serious expression on her face.

“Nothing, just forget it,” Twilight said as she looked down at her hooves and walked away.

“Twilight,” Rainbow grunted in pain as she made to stand again.

Twilight looked back, shocked to see her friend trying to stand back up. The grunts and curses filled the room as she put on hoof on the ground, followed by another, and then another. With a supreme force of willpower she pushed her weight onto her hooves.

Twilight’s eyes went wide as she watched the impossible. Rainbow Danger-Professionalism Dash started to walk towards her. The look on her face told of a mare that didn’t care about her own safety, one that would do anything to help her friend, and was not going to take no for an answer.

It was a heroic feat, worthy of praise, but it could not last. As soon as she was muzzle to muzzle with Twilight, Rainbow’s legendary endurance gave out on her. She fell forward, right into her friends waiting hooves.

Twilight caught her before she fell to the ground, “You know how stupid that was?”

“You know who you’re talking to?” Rainbow said as she rest her head in her friend’s hooves.

“Come, let’s get you to bed,” despite everything that happened, Twilight found herself with a smile on her face.

“Told you all you had to do was ask,” Rainbow smiled back as Twilight carried her friend to her bed. The alicorn gently placed her on her back. With her magic, Twilight levitated a pillow for Rainbow’s head.

The cyan mare just looked at her, “You going to tell me what happened, or do I need to do a little dance next?”

Twilight laughed at that, “You’re a good dancer and all, but that won’t be necessary.”

“Good, ‘cause I was lying, i doubt I could walk again much less dance.”

“Well, it started the other day after our flying lesson…” Twilight recanted everything, every little detail of the story. She didn’t know why she unloaded like she did, but once she started, she just couldn’t stop. The words themselves simply flew out of her mouth, almost like they had to be told.

She paused to cry at the painful parts, ashamed at what happened, what the pony she trusted did to her. Never once did Rainbow interrupt, she simply let Twilight tell the story from beginning to end.

When the tale was told and there were no more secrets Rainbow amazed her one more time. She sat up and hugged her, she squeezed Twilight as if that one action would take it all away, as if if she just squeezed tight enough, the pain would be forced out of her body.

The pain remained, but the tears were set loose. Twilight cried, she cried harder than she ever had in her life, she cried as if she was the only source of water Equestria had, as if her tears would be enough to keep every pony alive.

Rainbow rubbed her hoof up and down her friend’s back. She took deep breaths in and out, in and out. Dash pressed their chests together and continued doing so until Twilight begun to match her breaths. It took minutes, hours, days? She honestly didn’t know and didn’t care. Her friend was hurting and she was here for her, that’s what matter to her most of all.

“It’s not your fault,” Rainbow said when Twilight had finally calmed down.

“Yes it is,” Twilight sobbed. “I did something wrong, I did something to lead her on. She’d never do this.”

Rainbow pulled Twilight’s head off her chest and looked her in the eye. She wiped a trail of tears from her face with a hoof, “Twilight, it’s not your fault.”

“Yes it is!”

“Twilight, it’s not your fault.”

Twilight shut up as she let loose another tear, she didn’t know why Rainbow kept repeating the words.

“Twilight, it’s not your fault.”

“It’s not my fault,” Twilight mumbled back.

Rainbow rested her forehead against Twi’s. She never once looked anywhere else beyond her friend’s eyes. Almost as if she was a thief in the night, coming to steal all the pain Twilight felt.

They were so different than Luna or Celestia’s eyes. With Luna, there was love and tenderness, with Celestia it had been lust and desire. With Rainbow all she saw was support, she saw the eyes of someone that would be there for her, no matter what happened. They were the eyes of a true friend.

Without intending too, the tips of their muzzles touched. Neither of them paid it any mind, they simply continued to stare at each other.

It was Twilight that closed the last hair breath’s of a gape. She lowered her muzzle just slightly and their lips connected. Part of her wanted to know what other differences there were. If her eyes were so different, she wanted to know what her lips would be like.

Rainbow almost locked up right then and there, she had to fight back the urge to pull back, to try and convince Twilight not to do something like this right now. However, she knew that doing so would only cause her friend more pain. Whatever reason Twilight picked that moment to kiss her, she took a huge risk. With her heart in such a tender state denying her here and now would be tantamount to saying she’s used goods, that nopony would ever want her.

Besides, if she was being honest with herself, it was kinda awesome.

Rainbow was surprised when she felt Twilight’s tongue asking for entry. Without a moments hesitation, she allowed it to enter her muzzle. It was tender at first, seeking what was right and what was not. She greeted it like a long lost friend, allowing the alicorn to go at her own pace.

When they finally pulled back, a small trail of saliva connected their muzzles together. Rainbow wanted to say something, but words didn’t seem to fit. Instead she just smiled that cocky grin of hers. Partly to reassure twilight that everything was okay, partly to cover for the awkward silence that filled the air.

“How do you know what to do?” Twilight asked, her mind at a loss at what just happened, it felt so different than kissing Luna and Celestia, yet… not in an entirely bad way. She gave up trying to figure it out and asked the other question she had on her mind.

“What to do with what?” Rainbow asked, confused.

Twilight looked down at the bedspread. “You know, with me…”

“You’re not the first mare that something like this happened to,” Rainbow replied with a sad look in her eyes.

“Rainbow, you mean?” Twilight looked up, shocked.

“It’s not something I advertise, but yeah. Given it wasn’t with an out of control princess. It was… it was my dad,” Rainbow looked down as she finally admitted her secret. “That’s why I moved to Ponyville on my birthday. As soon as I was of age, I got out of there asap.”

Twilight hugged her for all she was worth. The action earned a little ‘eph’ from the cyan mare but neither of them wanted to stop. Softly, she felt Twilight run a hoof down her back and to her wings, “This is my fault.”

“What did I tell you?” Rainbow asked with a raised eyebrow.

“No, not that, this,” Twilight replied as she gestured a hoof to one of Rainbow’s wings. Rainbow didn’t know what she meant until she extended the wing and took a closer look.

“Oh, don’t worry about it, I’ll preen them when I feel better,” Rainbow replied.

“Umm…” Twilight went to state, she wanted to help her friend, she owed her that much at least, she just didn’t know how to ask if she wanted that help. In the end she went with the direct approach. “I’ll do it.”

“Twi?” Rainbow asked, hoping she has misheard.

“You… I hurt you Rainbow, I want to make it up to you.”

“Twi, you know you don’t owe me anything, not after what you’ve been through.”

“Do you not what my help?”

Rainbow wanted to say no, part of her thought it would be a very bad idea, but she also knew how she would feel in that situation, “Sure Twi, I’d love your help.”

If asked a million times and given a million different opportunities to respond, Twilight would never be able to say why she wanted to do this. Her mind baulked against it. Not more than twelve hours ago Celestia had betrayed everything she was, their entire relationship, and simply used her as a sack of meat for her self pleasure.

Yet, this… this was not that, her body moved on its own when she kissed her friend, her friend that had been there for her, that had helped her, that had shared a dark moment from her own past, a past she had never shared before.

Rainbow did all that and more, so much more, just for her, just to help her. How could she not do this for her?

Twilight jumped up on the bed and softly lowered herself on Rainbow right, careful not to place pressure on her friend’s sore body. Lightly, she nuzzled open Rainbow’s right wing. Careful as to make the process as gradual as possible. When it did not seem to open, she frowned. “Rainbow?”

“Sorry, it’s a little embarrassing,” Rainbow admitted. In truth she was less embarrassed and more confused. She had been through this action before with other ponies and knew what it meant. Those feelings caused her to stiffen up a little and she could not bring herself to relax.

Twilight looked at her friend’s face and sighed. She was slightly hesitant about what came next until she remembered Luna’s words. The princess had wanted her to ask others for help, to experience more than just her.

That removed the last shreds of guilt about it. Slowly, she started kissing at the base of Rainbow’s wing. She agumented between small licks and kissed, leaving a trail behind her that lead right up to Rainbow’s neck.

From Luna she knew what to do, from Celestia she knew what not to do. She put all that knowledge to work now.

‘Take it slow’, the voice in her head sounded like Luna’s almost like the night princess was in the room, coaching her. Twilight smiled as she got to the base of her friend’s neck, she didn’t bite down, not like she did with Luna. Rather, she softly nuzzled at it. Noting as Rainbow’s fur stood up on its end from the small action.

When Rainbow’s neck was nice and wet, she lightly blew across it. Watching with a smile as her saliva lightly ran across Rainbow’s fur. The cyan mare shivered and cooed softly from her ministrations.

With a smile, Twilight moved to the right side of Rainbow’s muzzle and softly kissed the base. She gave it a small lick, noting with joy that Rainbow seemed to relax a little. Lightly, she moved up the muzzle until she was staring Rainbow eye to eye. Once more she pressed their lips together, enjoying the taste of her friend in a way that only a lover would ever know.

Her actions were returned a hundredfold as Rainbow lightly placed a hoof on the back of her head and pressed them together. Twilight did not mind, she loved the feeling of the cyan mare’s lips against hers, the taste as her tongue entered her mouth, she sheer intimacy that she thought was lost forever.

‘Is that why?’ she thought. There had been a time she thought she would never do this again, that she would never open herself up to another pony or even Luna for that matter. ‘Is this just a test to see if I can enjoy it again?’

The thought made her pause, with a sigh she pulled back and sat on the side of the bed. Rainbow looked at her, confused. “You want to stop?” she asked.

“No,” Twilight cried.

“Then what’s wrong?” Rainbow asked.

“I’m using you,” Twilight almost balled the words, “I’m using you to see if I still enjoy this, if I can bring myself to enjoy this. I’m no better than Celestia!” she was so worried Rainbow would hate her for this.

There was no response, not vocally anyway. She felt a hoof against the back of her head, and then with a speed that only Rainbow would be capable off, her head was pulled back into another kiss. Her lips pressed against her friend’s one more time. Her eyes widened in shock at the sudden action.

She resisted, but only for a second. This kiss was so unlike Celestia’s, that had been forceful, with no real regard for her feelings. This… this was not that. Before long she melted into the kiss, her eyes softening, her heart beat slowed down from its rapid pulse.

When they broke apart, Rainbow rested her head on her friend’s. “You know, for an egghead you can be kinda dumb sometime.”

“Rainbow,” Twilight wanted to start but was stopped.

“Celestia took from you, she took what she wanted with no thought to how you felt, with what you wanted to do. At any point in time did I give you the impression that I didn’t want this? When you asked me if you could preen my wings, I knew what that meant and I said yes. You’re not using me Twi, you’re not because you could never bring yourself to do something like that. It’s just not who you are.”

Twilight cried a little as she held her friend’s head in her hooves. Gently, she lay Rainbow’s head back down on the pillow, giving her small kisses as she did so, Rainbow cooed approvingly with each and every one.

It was then she finally noticed that Rainbow’s wing was loose. She grinned and made her way back down to her right wing. With only the smallest stimulation on the bridge, Rainbow’s wing started to open up for her. “Relaxed now?” Twilight asked, already knowing the answer.

“More than you can ever know,” Rainbow said with a smile.

Twilight got to work. Her friend took great pride in her wings, however, they were obviously damaged from Twilight’s attack. With care she started to straighten the smaller feathers first. Gently, she ran her tongue over the quill of the feather and lightly gripped it with her lips. The pleasured sigh that came from Rainbow told her that she was doing a good job.

Twilight lightly twisted the feather back in place. Her lessons with Princess Luna were fresh in her mind. Her natural instincts filled in the gap she was missing. With her tongue extended, she lightly brushed it along the claims of Rainbow’s wing. A natural oil started to secrete over the quill.

Using her magic she lightly spread the oil down the quill and over the feather. The action earned her a coo of pleasure as Rainbow felt every inch of her ministrations. She repeated the action for the second and the third feather. The fourth did not need straightening, so she skipped directly to coating it.

The room was starting to heat up, Twilight could smell the undeniable smell that was coming from Rainbow’s nethers. The mare was already very turned on, ‘I’ll help her with that after I’m done’, Twilight thought with a smile.

She paused when she saw the fifth feather. Twilight knew her magical blast must have caused that damage. It was half missing with a piece of it bent in upon itself. “Rainbow, I…” she had no idea what to do.

Rainbow glanced down and saw the feather. “You just have to pull those out so new ones can grow.”

“But… but that’ll hurt,” Twilight said with panic in her eyes. Memories started to come back, memories of what Celestia did to her.

A cyan hoof met hers, causing the alicorn to look up at the face it belong to, “Yes, it will, but it has to be done Twi. The old feather is damaged, it can’t help me fly, it can’t do it’s job. But it won’t be for nothing, when you remove it it’ll give a new feather a chance to grow, a chance to become something new, something stronger.”

“I don’t want to hurt you,” she sobbed as she understood the dual meaning of what Rainbow said.

“Twilight, it’s fine. It may cause me a little pain, but It doesn’t matter. You’re my best friend in the world. I don’t care if it hurts because I trust you with my life. I know whatever happens that you will never break that trust.”

“Really?” Twilight looked up.

“Really,” Rainbow said as she lay back down.

Twilight smiled as she looked down at that feather. It was just a feather, just a broken feather that she had to remove so Rainbow could fly better. Yet it represented so much more. The feather was not just a feather, it was the memories of what Celestia did. Her friend’s trust was her faith in the future. Her actions, it would decide everything.

She gathered up her courage and moved back down. She had never removed a damaged feather before. She wanted… no, she needed to do this, for Rainbow and for herself.

Lightly she blew upon the calamus again, causing a small amount of oil to form under it.

Apply the oil to the quill

She heard it then, it was not her own voice, it was not Rainbow’s, it was Luna’s. It was like the night princess was in the room with her, telling her what to do.

Lightly twist the feather, almost like you were straightening it.

She did as her mind… no, her heart told her to do. Another pleasurable sigh came from her friend’s throat.

Once it’s nice and loose, give it one quick yank. Then lightly coat more oil over the hole.

She made sure it was nice and loose, all without twisting too much or trying to unscrew it. Once she was happy with it, she gave Rainbow one last look up. The cyan mare was looking down her wing at her with a smile on her face. A small perceptible nod followed, giving the alicorn all the permission she needed.

With a quick yank, Twilight pulled the feather out. To her surprise, Rainbow did not yell out. Rather she simply shut her eyes with a look of contentment on her face. Twilight looked down at the wing, noting with some panic that a small trickle of blood was started to form.

That’s normal, just apply a little pressure and it’ll stop.

What she did next surprised even her. It would have been easy to grab a small tissue with her magic and press it against the hole, but instead she simply pressed her tongue against it. A small taste of copper entered her mouth but she ignored it when another sigh left Rainbow’s lips.

She lightly licked more oil on her tongue and coated the hole. The bleeding stopped and everything simply looked right, almost natural.

“I gotta say, Twi. You’re a natural,” Rainbow said with a smile as she looked back at her friend.

Twilight blushed, “It… it didn’t hurt too much?”

“There was a little pain, but just the right amount.”

“What?” Twilight asked.

“At the right moment, Twi, a little pain can actually feel really good.”

“That… that doesn’t make sense.”

“Twi, what is darkness?” Rainbow asked.

“The absence of light,” Twilight mumbled off a condensed definition of the word.

“So darkness is defined by it’s opposite right?” Rainbow asked.

“In a way…” Twilight had no idea what she was getting at.

“So if there was never any light, there would never be any darkness, it would just be.”

“I…”

“In a way, the light makes darkness what it is, just like darkness makes light what it is. We only appreciate it because we know its opposite.”

“I guess…”

“Could the same not be said for pain and pleasure? That we know pleasure because we know pain, that we appreciate pleasure all that more because we’ve experienced pain?”

“What’s your point, Rainbow?”

“My point there, egghead, is that with the right pony, under the right circumstance, a little pain can actually make you feel better.”

“You know words like ‘circumstance’?” Twilight jokingly asked.

Rainbow laughed, “Not my words mind you, the pony that helped me after… she was the one that told me this. But it always stuck with me.”

Twilight smiled at her friend, “Whoever she was, she sounded like a smart pony.”

“Yeah, she was,” Rainbow said with a smile, “I think you still got some work to do, egghead.”

“You keep giving advice like that and I’ll start calling you an egghead.” Twilight laughed. Rainbow just glared at her.

The alicorn shrugged and went back to work on the wing. The majority of feathers were fine, a few had minor damage that she could easily fix, or that wouldn’t affect flight. However, there were three more that had to be pulled.

As with before she treated each and every one like a bad memory. She was gentle, caring. Doing her best to make it as nice and pleasurable as possible before she had no choice but to yank out the feather. Each one caused the same reaction in the mare under her care. Each time she lightly suckled on the wound, it caused the smell of Rainbow’s sex to increase in her nostrils.

When she was happy with the right wing, she lightly stroked the feathers with her magic, pushing ever so softly across the large surface of the wing to stimulate it in just the right way.

Rainbow’s body was overtaken by a small orgasm as her friend treated her wing with all the care of a lover. She wasn’t a squirter, but her hindquarters were more than wet. When Twilight looked up at her face, it was like she was glowing.

She made to move to Rainbow’s nethers. Only to be stopped by the same wing she just finished on. “Business before pleasure, sparklebutt,” Rainbow said with a smile. In truth Twilight had done a superb job on that wing and she wanted her to do the other. While there were one or two things Rainbow might have done different, it just felt better to let Twilight do it instead.

Twilight smiled and moved to the other wing. Just like the last it was also in need of nothing more than the smallest maintenance. Her attack had ruffled the feathers more than anything else. As she got to work striation the primaries and secondaries, she remembered Luna’s ‘other’ lessons.

When she started to coat them with oil, she reached a wing around and lightly brushed it against Rainbow’s stomach. The mare seemed to get even more relaxed as she closed her eyes and welcomed the contact. Twilight took that as an invitation to continue. Her wing’s touch got more and more bold as she moved further down her friend’s stomach.

As her feather lightly brushed over Rainbow’s clit, Twilight took her talk about pain and pleasure to heart. She built up her friend slowly as she noticed another feather that could not be saved. Lightly she blew across the quill as her wing rubbed along her friends lower lips. The licked the base as she lightly brushed her clit. She twisted the quill as she teased entry. Then, when the time came, she pulled out the feather as her own made entry.

Rainbow screamed in delight at the dual sensation. Her marehood clamped down on the feather has her walls closed upon it. Twilight felt her feather starting to get really wet as Rainbow’s orgasm went to work. However, it was when Twilight went to lightly lick the wounded wing that Rainbow’s mind went blank, overcome with pleasure.

Her senses came to a few seconds later. She looked up with a grin as Twilight was licking her own feather clean. She seemed to enjoy the taste. “I’m not even disappointed that you don’t taste like skittles.”

“What do I taste like?” Rainbow asked.

Twilight ran her wingtip back over Rainbow sex. Soaking up what she could and offered it to Rainbow. Rainbow looked down, confused. “Try it,” Twilight said with a smile.

“You want me to…” Rainbow raised an eyebrow.

“I thought you said you trust me?” Twilight looked at her.

Rainbow sighed, somehow the egghead had backed her into a corner on this one. She had never tasted herself before. It just didn’t seem like something she wanted to do. However, suckling on Twilight's feather was something she wanted to do. With one last glance up, she lightly stuck out her tongue and licked the very tip of the feather. “Happy now?”

“Dash, come on. I thought you were daring.”

“Ugh, fine.” Rainbow rolled her eyes and opened her muzzle again. This time it was not some quick lick, she placed the feather on her tongue and closed her mouth over it. Instantly she could make out three different flavors. The first was Twilight’s muzzle, it tastes almost of strawberries. The second was the taste of the feather. She was used to preening her own feather and knew that taste. The last, she knew was her own taste. That one surprised her, it tasted almost like the feeling she would have on her tongue after a fresh rainfall.

She liked it almost immediately and went to suckling at the feather, an action she knew would start to get Twilight's motor running. Twilight smiled as she felt it. She went back to the wing, straightening the feathers she could and removing the ones that could not be saved. Before long she ran her magic over the feathers just like she did on the other side.

Dash sighed at the contact. She looked up lovingly, “I guess we can get to the pleasure now, if you still want to.”

Twilight smiled back as she moved to Dash’s body. With a quick kiss she started to rub her hoof up and down her stomach, pausing as she reached her nipples. ‘I wonder what her milk would taste like?’ she thought, then dismissed it. This was not that, this was for something entirely different.

She moved her hoof lower, running it along Dash’s lower lips. Slowly, with careful touches, she traced the edge of her friends vagina.

Rainbow sighed as she felt it. It was a tender caress, the touch and care of a lover. She smiled as the hoof was removed and Twilight went to replace it with her tongue. “Hey Twi?”

Twilight looked up, confused, “Yes Rainbow?”

“Move over me facing down.”

Still confused Twilight did as she was told. She repositioned herself just right, her flank over Rainbow’s muzzle while hers looked at the prize she wanted. Shrugging at the new position she made to move her lips back down to Rainbow’s.

Rainbow waited until just the right moment, as soon as she felt Twilight’s tongue she lightly brushed her own against Twilight’s lower lips. Twilight's head snapped up in alert, “Rainbow!”

Rainbow just smiled, “Relax, I know it hurt’s but I’ll be gentle. Trust me on this, Twi. I’ve been there.”

With caution, Twilight lowered her head again. As she started to lick up the taste again, she felt Rainbow’s tongue do the same. For Rainbow’s part, she kept it gentle, doing to Twilight what she wished somepony had done for her after…

Every lick was kept surface level, every touch gentle, almost as if she was applying a wet washcloth to an open wound. She flexed her newly preened wings and brought them up to Twilight’s flanks. With a slight touch she started to lightly brush upon her friends fur. While she could not stimulate Twilight like she normally would, she could still make her friend feel better.

Twilight purred like a kitten from the small touch. Every brush of Rainbow’s feathers seemed so much more than it was, every touch of her tongue was like a calming boom on her sore privates. She repaid each and every touch in kind as she went back to work on her friend.

Her mind recalled the same notes she took on Luna and put them to use here. She smiled as Rainbow seemed to have the same weakness as Luna did, for the most part anyway. There were a few areas that Luna liked that Rainbow gave no reaction too. However, once she stuck her tongue in as far as she could, it earned her a squeal of joy from the cyan pegasus.

Rainbow doubled down, she began licking and sucking that much faster, each and every lick was slightly more rough than the last. She wanted to show Twilight the truth of her words, that a little bit of pain, by the right pony, at the right time, goes a long way to making you feel that much better.

And it worked. Twilight almost screamed as she was pushed over the edge of her pleasure reservoir when Rainbow added a feather to the mix. The pegasus stuck her tongue into Twilight's dripping snatch, trying to reach as deeply as she could. She knew it would hurt after what Twilight had been through, so at the same time she took her left wing and lightly brushed it over her friend’s clit.

She was rewarded for her efforts by a splash of cum on her muzzle. Rainbow smiled as she started to clean herself off before licking her friend clean. While she tasted like fresh rainfall, Twilight’s taste was more akin to a fresh sea breeze.

Twilight rode out her ogasim, doing her absolute best to stay on her hooves, something that Rainbow made even harder by continuing to lick her clean. When it was over, she dove back into her friend with gusto.

Rainbow had been close before, something made even worse when she felt her face covered in her friends liquid. As such, when Twilight went back in, it quickly pushed her over the edge. She screamed out as her friend finished the job. Just as Rainbow had done, Twilight made sure she was clean before she stopped licking.

“That was great, Twi,” Rainbow said with a smile, a smile that soon became a frown as she saw the look on her friend’s face, “What’s wrong?”

“I…” Twilight found it hard to say what she wanted to say next, which was ridiculous after what they had just done for each other.

“Just ask,” Rainbow’s smile was all the motivation she needed.

“Can I sleep with you, for tonight I mean?”

Rainbow chuckled to herself, “Sure Twi.”

Twilight lightly lay down next to Rainbow, surprised when she felt the cyan mare’s hoof under her neck, when she moved to get off it, Rainbow surprised her one more time by pulling her closer, soon their bodies were pressed up right next to each other.

While it hadn’t been her intention to cuddle afterwards, Twilight found that she enjoyed it immensely. The feeling of such physical intimacy after such an act simply seemed to make everything better.

She looked back out the window. The moon’s light was still beaming down upon her. However, while she expected to feel bad about it. All she could feel was warmth. To her it almost felt like Luna was giving her approval, like she wanted her to do this with others before she made up her mind. At least it was what she had said in her letter.

Somehow, it just made everything that much more… more special.

Twilight closed her eyes as she started to drift back to sleep. Whereas before sleep was something she was scared of, something she wanted to push off as long as possible, this time she welcomed it. Maybe it was the soft body she lay her head upon, maybe it was the kind words that Rainbow had said to her, or maybe, just maybe it was because for the the first time since it happened, she actually could see a better tomorrow.

Whatever it was, she was soon off into blissful slumber in her friends hooves. Rainbow lightly brushed a stray hair from her friend’s mane out of her face. “Night Twi.”

She brushed a broken feather that landed upon her stomach off with a hoof. The feather caught in the wind, but due to the damage its flight path took it out the window instead of the floor. Rainbow watched with a smile as that damaged feather left their lives, forevermore.
