Kuzunoha Rising
Twilight and her friends were panicking, their newest, and absolute worse adversary, Tirek, had strip them of their magic and left them weak. They had found the final key to a box that appeared before them in the past, only for Tirek to sweep in and take the box, keeping them away from it and any possible way of stopping him. Out of desperation, they fled into the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters. Huddling together, Twilight said to them, "Everything will be alright girls, we will figure something out."
Rarity shook her head, "How darling? We are trapped here with no way to escape, we have no magic, and it is only a matter of time before that barbaric Tirek comes for us."
It was then Twilight's friend, and representative of loyal kicked a wall, "BUCK! HOW THE HAY ARE WE GOING TO WIN?! THIS IS LOOKING COMPLETELY HOPELESSSSSS AAAHHHHHH!"
She was knocked out of her thoughts when she kicked a spot on the wall, and suddenly her and the others were swept into a stairway by the wall when it spun around. It was then the quiet one of the group and representative of kindness remembered something that the Princess of the night, Princess Luna had said to her at one point.
Flashback
Fluttershy was exploring the castle in the Crystal Empire when she heard the sound of somepony else. Nervous, she braced herself, only to let out a loud eep when she seen that it was the night princess Luna, "Ah, Fair Fluttershy, we were hoping to find thou. We would like to discuss something with thou."
Fluttershy swallowed, scared, "Wh-what can I-I d-d-do for you pr-princess?"
Luna had her walk with her, "Fair Fluttershy, as thou must remember when our sister had tasked you with reforming Discord. But ultimately, we still do not trust him. We fear that he may do something to cause immense trouble and chaos."
Fluttershy nervously raised a hoof, "But Discord has been very good. Sure he has his moments, but he has been nice."
Luna continued, "Regardless, it pays to be prepared as such, we request a favor of thou." She pulled out a bottle of an unknown potion, "Should something happened and it force thou and thy friends into the Everfree, seek out the castle we and our sister once lived in, then seek out a wall that rotates to reveal a hidden stair case leading down. Once in the room the stairs lead to, there will stand a statue of a bipedal creature. If, and only if the situation is dire enough, pour the potion on the statue, and thou shall gain help. Swear to us though, thou must not reveal any of this to anyone, not even thy friends, and especially not Twilight Sparkle or our sister
Now
With the memory of the conversation in mind, she rushed down the stairs, ignoring the others and she prayed that they would truly gain the hope they would need. Entering the room, she was amazed, for in the center of the room was the statue of a being. It stood tall on two legs like a minotaur, but its feature's resembled a primate more than a minotaur and seemed to wear a cloak. One of the more prominent features of the statue was a long thin sword that Fluttershy recognized as a Neighponese katana that the creature seemed to wield in a protective stance. Fluttershy said nothing as the others arrived or as Rainbow Dash asked, "What is with you Fluttershy?! Why did you run off?!"
Without answering, she stepped forward to the statue, pulling out the potion Princess Luna had given her. Before she could do pour it on the statue though, the ceiling practically imploded as Tirek found them. He said nothing as he grabbed at them. Fluttershy tried to open the bottle and dump it on the statue, but Tirek managed to grab her before she could. Grinning in triumph at them, he said to them, "And so it looks like I win. Soon I shall conquer all of Equestria and then the world! Such a shame you won't-."
He was interrupted by the sound of a loud bang and pain erupting from his eye. Roaring, he dropped the group of friends as he covered his eye, allowing them to look at the source of the noise. No longer encased in stone, was the bipedal being, and not only was his sword in one paw, but there was an odd creature sitting on his shoulder in a green skin tight outfit with a blond mane and a metal thing in the other paw, smoke coming from a tube on the end. Before they could say anything, Tirek roared and brought his hand down, only for the being to back flip out of the way as (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTuz15Sq8zc) the creature in green disappear in a flash of light the cloaked being then pull out a pair of tubes and suddenly pointed them forward, the tops unscrewing themselves and twin green lights launch from them and hit the ground, revealing two more beings.
The first was also a bipedal being, but it stood twice the height of the first, a white cape and golden scaled armor covered its body while tanned hairless limbs marked only with markings and covered with a pair of boots and gauntlets. Two long strips of its mane extended out from under a helm on its head, which like the armor was gold but had horns and five spikes and the only thing of its head that was revealed were its eyes which glowed a bright blue like lightning. In its hand, was a huge double sided hammer, each side as big as the head of the being weilding it and a wicked spike mounted on the top in the middle.
The other being was like the first two in form, but unlike either, wore no clothing, instead, its body was covered in red fleshy tendrils that covered it, and even formed a sort of organic cape extending from its back. Only its hands and feet were uncovered and both were grey in color, along with the up portion of its face that could be seen. Looking at its eyes, the group of Equestrians could see that, there was no discomfort from its form, only fury that seemed to currently be focused on Tirek. As the group watched, the two new creatures turned the the original being, who smiled and nodded, getting a nod from the giant and a kind look from the tendril being. All three focused on Tirek though when Tirek roared and swipe at the three. Before he could hit them though, the two beings faded till they became like shadows that darted behind the sword wielder who then dodged once more before stabbing its sword into Tirek's hand, the giant reappearing and smashing one of the knuckles with its hammer.
Tirek yanked his hand back, roaring in pain. What he didn't anticipate as he did so though, was the sword wielder leaving the sword in place and hanging on. Once Tirek brought his hand in front of his face, the being jumped from his hand to the top of his head and jammed his sword into his head. Tirek, angry from this, raised his fist over his head and brought down, only for the swordsman too jump off the back of his head and use his sword by stabbing it into Tirek's back in order to slow his descent, leaving nothing between Tirek's head and fist. Before Tirek could gather his wits, the two beings on the ground attacked, the giant raising his hammer and firing lightning, to the shock of the others, into Tirek's chest while the other had a gap appear where its mouth should be and a beam shot towards Tirek's face, slicing along it and hitting both eyes.
Roaring once more, Tirek covered both his eyes with both hands, but this time in the process, the box he stole fell from his hand and caught by Rainbow Dash who spotted it. As the Equestrian group rushed off, Tirek tried to stop them, only to freeze as pain from his horse half's back sprouted. He swiped at the source, only for his hand to be struck by lightning. While he was distracted by the attack, the swordsman got down, and rushed to its allies. Snarling, Tirek roared, "I have had enough of you! Never had any been such a nuisance, not even my bother!"
As he ranted, the swordsman merely rolled his eyes as he pulled out the tubes from earlier and sent his comrades back. He then pulled out a third and summoned a new being, this time a small being dressed in blue with red hair and wings. The two nodded at each other then rushed forward. When Twilight and her friends returned, imbued with the power of harmony within themselves, they were confused. They found Tirek where he was, but now he was down, his underside scorched badly from something and he was trying to support his upper half. While he was doing that, the swordsman was on his back with his smaller friend on his shoulder, the two of them talking. When the swordsman noticed them, he got up, making sure not to jostle his companion, then got off Tirek's back then motioned for the group to finish the fight.
They complied and blasted Tirek, freeing the magic he took then sending him back to Tartarus. Once that was finished, they landed and returned to normal. Fluttershy was the first to speak as she went up to the swordsman and said to him, "Um... Thank you, thank you so much for helping us."
The swordsman went on one knee, then smiled at her as he reached out and petted her mane, "No problem. After all, I was just doing my job as Equestria's protector."
Twilight stepped forward, "Who are you though? Why were you imprisoned in stone?"
The man went to say why, only for a voice to cut him off, "Raidou! Our dear friend, it is joyous to see though again!"
Raidou's PoV
I turned to the source of the voice and smiled, "Princess Luna it is great to see you again as well!"
I went to her, only to stop when I seen who was with her and gain a cold look, "Celestia."
Said solar monarch looked sheepish, "Raidou, it is good to see you awake an-."
"Don't Celestia. Don't bother pretending things didn't go the way they did. You stabbed me in the back and left me to endure fifteen hundred years encased in stone. The only reason I did not decide to simply let the overgrown centaur have his way is because Sylph had been free to keep me company and Luna would suffer as well. And for what?! Because of my friends that I trust and are by my side?! You told me the obvious in the past, friendship grants strength, and yet it was not the enemies of Equestria to leave me trapped, but one I trusted and helped to protect to do it. So spare me any pleasantries traitor, I lost all respect for you the moment you trapped me in stone!"
Not wanting to listen to her, I quickly turned to a pink alicorn that was with them who gave a small bow of respect, "Raidou Kuzunoha, I have heard many things about you from aunty Luna, most of which were good. I am Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, princess of the Crystal Empire and princess of love. Though you may call me Cadence."
I nodded, smiling respectfully at her, "A pleasure to meet you Princess Cadence. And I hope the things said were about how great a guardian I am."
She grinned a teasing grin, "Not so much that as you were funny like a clown and tend to be a pervert."
I threw my arms in the air, "I accidentally catch Luna in the bath ONCE, and I am labelled for life."
Luna grinned, "Then there are some of thy summons, we do believe thou peeked up Titania's dress a couple times."
Before I could defend myself, a bolt of light shot from under my cloak and hit the ground, said fairy queen appearing, "I do keep telling him he can do more than look. Though he constantly restrains himself."
As Cadence and Luna giggled, I blushed and once more before I could speak, I heard someone else speak, "Wait, Raidou, as in THE Raidou Kuzunoha? The guardian swordsman?!"
I looked to see who was speaking, only to find a blue pegasus in my face. Using one finger, I pushed her back by her nose, "I've been called that, but I prefer the title, the devil summoner."
"Which you are not a true one."
Hearing that voice, we looked around for the source of it. Ultimately, my gaze fell on a single cat that came out of the bushes, a black cat with green eyes. While the others were confused as it sat in front of us, I knew immediately what we were looking at, or rather who, "Never thought I would see the day when I would meet you, Gouto Douji."
He sniffed, and surprised the others when he spoke, "Nor did I expect to meet someone who had the body of the fourteenth Raidou but is clearly not him."
"And I can explain that, seeing as I know I am not truly him."
As the modern group looked at us in confusion, Gouto commented, "I suspect the same thing involving my being here is connected to you."
I shrugged, "Possibly, but first we need to figure out where we are going to be staying."
Luna then spoke up, "Thou can stay at the castle again."
I immediately shook my head, "I am sorry Luna, but no way in hell." I shot a glare at Celestia, "You know how that will go considering my stance on backstabbers."
Celestia looked away while Luna nodded though looked sad, "We understand, though ultimately, now we are unsure of a place for thou and Gouto Douji."
"Princess, if I may, I am willing to volunteer my home for them to stay."
I looked to the source of the voice to see a white unicorn with a purple mane and tail raising her hoof, seeing her also, Luna said to her, "Generous Rarity, it is noble of you to volunteer your home."
I nodded, "Rarity was it? Thanks, it is nice of you to let us stay in your home with you."
She smiled as she lowered her hoof, "It is no trouble my dear Raidou, after all, you saved us from Tirek and gave us the chance to defeat him." She paused for a second, "Of which, how exactly did you do it? Aside from the damage you and your friends done, we didn't see what happened after we left."
My pixie partner, still out from the fight with Tirek, giggled as I grinned and motioned to her, "That would be my little friend here. She happens to know a very powerful attack that, even that big idiot can't protect himself from, heck, extremely few can."
The purple alicorn then spoke up, shocked, "But how? I had been attacking with the power of four alicorns, how can she have the power do to what that much magic couldn't!"
Luna vouched for me at that, "If the attack is what we assume it is, then know Twilight that it is powerful, as if Faust herself imbued her might into it. We seen it only once in action, and it still leaves us in awe."
I shrugged, "Too bad we can only use it once without leaving me unable to fight."
Gouto then spoke, "Though it still packs a kick, against any enemy it can be considered overkill, and whats more, megidolaon while not capable of instantly taking down powerful devils, can still do a lot of damage, and that Tirek fellow had the bad luck the fake here getting in under him where not much of the attack would get out."
I rolled my eyes, "How long are you going to keep calling me a fake?"
He focused on me, "Till you get out of that body."
"Then we are both in for a long wait, I don't know how I wound up like this in the first place. Whats more, even Luna and the backstabber here who have the power to move the moon and sun respectively, couldn't return me to my old body."
He sighed, "Very well then, but if you are going to be in that body, you have big shoes to fill."
"As if I don't know that! Anyways, we going to get going?"
At Carousel Boutique
As I sat down in a chair, I asked Gouto and the ponies I learned were currently the ones representing harmony, "So what do you want to know?"
The pink one, Pinkie Pie got in my face, "Do you like parties?"
I chuckled, "Yeah, I do."
She grinned and started talking about party ideas as Gouto asked, "How did you wind up in this world and as Raidou anyways?"
"That's a bit more complicated, you see, it is like this."
1,503 years in the past, a convention center on Earth
I smiled as I watched the crowd, enjoying the atmosphere. I always got a kick out out of being at these things, with all the people in costume and such. I wasn't immune to the desire to dress up though, I came this year dressed as the character I thought was the most awesome one, having came as Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV the protector of the capital from the Shin megami tensei devil summoner games. Though ultimately, I suited the role a little too much, thinking to myself I suited the role of quiet protector only due to an accident. Rubbing the scar on my neck, I sighed, only to be startled when an arm slung itself around my shoulders, "How is the big silent hero doing? Ready to jump in to save the day if the crowd gets too unruly?"
I rolled my eyes but smiled as I turned to the owner of the arm and signed out, 'No, but I am ready to protect them from you if you get too unruly for them Kayako.'
"What? Moi prove too much? Surely you jest?" My friend Kayako, dressed as a genderbent version of the Demi-Fiend from another branch of the Megami Tensei series, feigned hurt as I shook my head in amusement. She was always an odd one to me, having been born in Japan and came to the states two years ago, and yet if not for her parents as proof, she could have been mistaken for a natural American. When we met, it was in a book store, where she shocked the hell out of me as I found her looking in a Playboy magazine. I learned quickly, not only was Kayako an uninhibited sort of girl, she was bisexual, as much of her antics either included either showing me pictures of women that caught her eye or trying to grope me.
'I think the only guy who doesn't know how crazy you are was that guy dressed as Ganondorf we passed getting here.'
"I think ultimately, the question is which of you is crazier than the other, seeing as you both do not seem to ever be normal."
I turned to the source of the voice and signed, 'Why should we be normal? Normalcy is over rated!"
Kayako grinned, "Exactly Nikki! We have a given right to insanity and we will exercise it as we see fit!"
Nikki, or Nikolai as my friend's name truly was, sighed before lifting the hat for his cosplay and rubbing his forehead, "You two will be the death of me."
I just grinned before signing out, 'By the way, your General Munakata outfit is awesome!'
He chuckled, "I had to make sure it was good, afterall, if I am going to be Raidou's enemy, thus your complete opposite, then I need it to look good."
Before he could get to prideful, Kayako burst his bubble, "It is just too bad you don't have his sword."
As Nikolai looked depressed at the thought, I patted him on the back, only for a voice to say, "Well now, such fine outfits, truly commendable work!"
We looked to the source of the voice, only to find a creepy guy dressed as the Happy Mask Salesman. Grinning at the compliment, Kayako stepped forward, "Yep, though my friends here are missing somethings."
The man never lost his grin, so I heard, the young man dressed as the loyal Munakata is missing his sword and the young man here dressed as the guardian of the capital is missing the tubes I bet. What of you mam?"
Kayako flinched but kept her grin, "I'm not missing anything! My outfit is complete!"
I rolled my eyes and signed to Nikki for him to tell the man, 'She is missing the magatama that the Demi-Fiend has.'
As Kayako scowled at me, the man nodded, "Ah, that won't do at all, not at all. It is a good thing I am here. You see, I happen to do work as a sort of craftsman, I make things for those such as yourselves who are so nearly complete with your outfits, and provide that last piece that is missing. No matter how obscure the item, I can make it. In fact..." The man took his bag off his back and set it down before digging through it. After a bit, he pulled, and to our shock, out came the things we were missing, and he passed them out to us, "Here we are, one case of twenty-five magatama. One well crafted sword, worthy of any dedicated officer. Finally, twenty devil summoner tubes, a full team to support any courageous summoner."
We were in awe as we took the items, and looked them over. It was Kayako who asked the thought on our minds, "How much for them?!"
"For all three all together, it is a total of three hundred dollars."
With no intentioned to pass it up, we all three pulled out a hundred each and hand the money to him. He kept grinning as he took the money with a nod, "Enjoy, I hope it proves worth it."
As he left, we quickly went and dealt with our new things. I took my cape off and strapped on the tubes while Nikolai strapped on his new sword. Once we finished, I went to look at the others, only to find myself in a field. I rapidly turned around, not believing where I was. Instinctively, I could it help it, "What the he-... I can talk? I CAN TALK!
Now
"From there, I had been unsure of what to do when I realized, it must have been because of that salesmen, and checked the tubes for something to indicate who the guy was."
Then
I had the tubes out, studying them closely. I mentally gave props to the guy that gave me the tubes, he must have worked hard in producing the tubes, the level of detail on them was impressive. I didn't understand how, but I knew the tubes and their maker were responsible, and after hitting myself with a tree branch I knew that none of this was a hallucination so I couldn't count on that helping. Finally I got fed up, "Stupid tubes! I can't even open them to see what is in them!"
Tossing the tube I had in my hand, I sighed and tried to figure out what to do, only to hear someone, "That was quite rude! Tossing my tube like that!" I turned to see who spoke only to be shocked, It was a sylph, "well? Are you going to apologize?"
I swallowed, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize there was anyone inside the tube. I wouldn't have done that If I had known."
"... Very well, I will accept your apology just this once, but if you do it again, you will find out just how fierce the wind can be!"
I swallowed as I nodded, "Alright, I understand. But as someone new to being a summoner, how do I politely summon anyone in the tubes?"
She sighed, "You truly are new. In order to summon us, you must focus your energy and channel it into a tube with a devil in it to summon us."
I nodded, "OK... Um... Would it be too much to ask for you to teach me the basics on devils and devil summoning?"
"Only, and I repeat, ONLY! You do exactly what I say, even if it seems demeaning to you."
I nodded and sat as she started explaining.
Now
"From there, after she explained everything, we went looking for a town. Though when we arrived, it started a panic."
Luna jumped in at this point, "Indeed word had reached our sister and I, prompting us to get their ass quick as possible. Unfortunately, by doing so, we attracted the attention of would be assassins. They attacked just as we met Raidou, who along with Sylph, responded quickly. While his moves were sloppy and unrefined, he still reacted quickly, distracting the assassins. After the fight, he explained his situation, and we decided to take pity on him, and hired him as an investigator with our guards, where he served faithfully for three years."
The blue pony, Rainbow Dash then asked, "What happened then? They say you disappeared!"
I glared briefly at Celestia, "It was my third year working for the guard, when it happened."
Three years after arriving in Equestria
I frowned as I looked at the Staircase, suspicious of what I would be walking into. Deciding to be cautious, I summoned Sylph, "What can I do for you Raidou?"
"I need you to stay out of your tube and watch everything, something isn't right and I would prefer having someone out, ready for trouble."
She nodded and waited there at the top of the staircase as I went down. Coming into the room, I examined everything, "I was waiting for you."
I turned, reaching for my blade, only to find Celestia behind me, "Princess, you startled me. What is going on, is there something wrong?"
"Indeed there is, demon master." She flared her wings, "I will not risk it, I am done risking it. By letting you run around with those monsters, my little ponies will forget the danger of demons, and when they do, how long till you and your ilk strike?!"
I blinked, "Celestia, what are you talking about?"
"NO! NO MORE WORDS! YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY HERE!"
As she prepared a spell, I drew my sword and assumed a stance, only for a bright light and the feeling of my limbs stiffening to overwhelm me.
"From there, Sylph rushed out and told Luna what happened before returning to me. The only reason I didn't decide to let my anger take over was because of Sylph telling me that Luna made sure to preserve anything she could of me and sent it to trusted individuals."
"I also made sure to only leave Raidou in order to learn what was going on and return to tell him the news as well as stories of things I would see, even if I could not hear his words."
I smiled up at Sylph who on sat on the top of my head, "And I am grateful everyday for that, for having you there to keep me as sane as you have."
She nodded as Luna then asked, "Now that thou are free, what will thou do now?"
"For now, some sleep would be nice, I spent fifteen hundred years awake and would like to be able to sleep for once. After that, I don't know."
She nodded, "Very well then, for tonight, let us retire to our homes and rest. Tis been a long day with everything that happened."
I nodded as the group dispersed, and growled lightly when Celestia tried to talk to me, making her back off and leave. Before she went to her room, I asked Rarity, "Um... Miss Rarity? For whatever room I am to sleep in, do you know a spell to keep any noise from escaping it?"
She blinked and looked at me suspiciously, "What pray tell would you need it for darling?"
I rubbed the back of my head, "I snore badly when I sleep, and I don't want to disturb anyone as I do so."
"Ah, understandable darling, and I do in fact have one. Twilight taught it too me when I complained once of not being able to work in piece at times."
As she went to prepare the room, Gouto commented, "You're in Raidou's body right? He has never snored, ever."
I glanced at him, "You don't want to know Gouto."
"... I am going to stay with you, and make sure you do not attempt anything."
I blushed, "I think for your sanity Gouto, you'll want to find another place to sleep for the night."
Gouto rolled his eyes and went ahead, "I am keeping an eye on you and that's final."
I shook my head and sighed, "Alright, but you have no right to complain tomorrow when you don't get any sleep."
Needless to say, he was going to be complaining a lot tomorrow as he hid under the bed while Sylph and I relieved each other of some stress with some help from Titania.

I can't believe no one has tried a Raidou story yet, but here is mine. Anyways, this is my second displaced fic, and due to how the game it is based on is, this is strictly M and I will not budge on that. Anyways, I hope everyone enjoys this one.
