Pinkie and Rainbow make muffins
A gentle knocking was heard at the door of sugar cube corner. Rainbow Dash had gotten a message to come there as soon as she had some time. Rainbow Dash didn't know what to think, she had recently read a short story involving her and Pinkie Pie in a very unpleasant situation involving baked goods. So it was with good reason she was a bit nervous to say the least.
As she stood at the door, waiting for the bouncing pink mare to make her way downstairs and answer, her thoughts raced. She could easily fly away before she was ever seen, she didn't have to be here. Perhaps she could make up an excuse that the weather team needed her to help plan the next day's weather. "Pinkie doesn't know much about clouds, I could easily tell her I got wrapped up in my...."
She was cut off by a very happy. "Hi Dashie!" The rainbow mane Pegasus gulped hard and turned to face her friend.
Rainbow Dash turned slowly to face Pinkie Pie, she had already spread her wings in preparation to leave, her nerves almost getting the better of her before Pinkie made an appearance. "Hey there Pinkie...." she laughed a little nervously. She gulped hard and asked. "You wanted to see me for something?" Rainbow fidgeted with her hooves not wanting to be there.
Pinkie pie bounced around Rainbow Dash and exclaimed. "Yes yes yes! Oh my gosh you came just in the knick of time, I didn't know what I was going to do, I had this Idea for pound and pumpkins birthday and I needed to make some extra money so I could by them the perfect gift and that's when I had the idea I could bake and make the money so i could buy it since I didn't have enough money but their birthdays are only 2 days away." Pinkie drew in a large sharp breath as she had not taken one since beginning to talk. She was circling Rainbow Dash repeatedly, making the poor mare dizzy just watching. "So you wanna help?"
Rainbow nearly stumbled watching her friend circle and asks with an unsure tone in her voice. "What is it do you want me to help with?" she said, her words almost getting caught in the back of her throat.
Pinkie stopped mid air and seemed to float down to the ground in a straight line, rainbow gawked at this a moment before Pinkie chimed. "Baking!" Rainbow cringed as the thoughts of the story crept into her mind.
She backed up a little bit and folded her ears back. "W..wh-what are we baking?" she said ruffling her wings and keeping them ready in case. her fight or flight response in high gear, sweat slickening her coat with nervousness. Her knees felt weak and her body trembling.
Pinkie with her normal bubbly self bounces into sugar cube corner and said "MMMMmmmmmuffins!" pushing herself snout to snout with rainbow dash a moment before darting back insides.
Somewhere on a cloud far across the sky, past the hilltops and through a small wooded area, A Pegasus lay sleeping. A single gray ear perks up and wings stiffen.
Rainbow breathed out a heavy sigh, the tension in her body unwinding like a spring that had been wound too tight and suddenly let go. She smiles and laughs almost in a guilty fashion. "Muffins right, ok, I'm not a good baker but I guess I can help."
Pinkie begins getting mixing bowls and pans to make the muffins. "That's ok I'll be doing all the baking, I just need you to help me get the ingredients I need."
Rainbow dash hears the comment and almost jumps out of her skin. She stumbles forward and lands face first into a flour bag covering herself from head to toe in the white powder. She fumbles around, her own fear getting the better of her as she tries to get back on her hooves. By the time she is done, there is so much flour on her she could be mistaken for Rarity if not for a few rainbow stands of hair sticking through the white mess.
Pinkie Stands there and smiles and watches dash get to her hooves. She tilts her head with a wide squee. "You are supposed to bring me the ingredients silly, not wear them."
Rainbow Dash laughs nervously. "Eh he he he....right..." she folds her ears back and looks around. "Sorry about the mess. I'll help you clean up I promise." she tries to shake some of the mess out of her coat with no luck, the flour had mixed with her sweat from before making a rather sticky mess on her.
Pinkie Pie promptly begins shoving the cyan mare from behind with her head and guiding her up the stairs. "Lets get you cleaned up first silly, unless you want me to bake you into a pie!" she giggles loudly and snorts.
Rainbow tenses and flaps her wings darting upstairs. "No no no!" she says all the way up the path. Having been at sugar cube corner many times before she knew where the shower was and made it there in a blink of an eye. She promptly turns on the water and begins to rinse the white powder off, it becomes more of a problem then she can manage right away, the flour getting sticky. Eventually it became watered down enough to get free of her fur. She pants softly calming her nerves, "Settle down Rainbow, she's not going bake you into cupcakes, it was just a story." she says to herself.
Pinkie Pie pops her head into the open door. with a loud, "Hey Dashie!" she smiles with her eyes closed in a pleased face. "I wanted to see how your doing and....." Pinkie frowns and holds a hoof over her mouth. "Oh no..."
Rainbow Dash was now laying unconscious in the tub having jumped up and leaving a sizable dent in the ceiling, she had knocked herself completely out of it, A sharp sting after she had leaped and then blackness. She begins to wake up and feels the sharp pain in the back of her head. Her eyes taking some time to focus.
Pinkie pie chirps as she notices her friend is awake. "Wakey wakey silly billy!" she says and turns the lights on in the room. "I thought you wouldn't wake up in time to finish baking, and that would have been really sad, I really wanted you to help. So we could do it as friends."
Rainbow begins to hyperventilate as she looks at her hooves covered and her body on a flat surface. She pushes herself up and trips over herself as she gets caught up in the blanket that was laid over her, She falls forward and with a loud thud catches her shoulder and side on the table next to the couch she had been laying on. "Ugghh...." she groans as she gets up.
Pinkie, with genuine concern for her friend bounces over and helps her up. "What did you do that for silly?" she says with a smile. "Now your going to be all achy unable to help me bakey."
Rainbow gets up and rubs her shoulder with a hoof. "I'll....be fine, I'm sorry I've been nothing but trouble today Pinkie, I've just got something on my mind." she looks away and down from her friend ashamed of herself. "You have been nothing but nice to me all day and I've had these stupid ideas in my head."
Pinkie, clueless as ever, tilts her head. "What thoughts Dashie?" She asks curiously.
Rainbow confesses. "You see Someone left a story on the bench in the park the other day, it ways pretty graphic and well you know how vivid my imagination is ever since Twilight got me into the Daring Do books." she tears up a little. "It was a story about you and me, and you....y...you..."
Pinkie Pie wraps a foreleg around Rainbow Dash and pulls her in for a hug. "I what Dashie?" she asked. Pinkie may be a happy bouncy silly pony, but when she needed to be, she could always be there for her friends. She leaned into her and listened ears perked.
Rainbow pulls back her tears and sighs. "You killed me in your basement and cut me up to use my body for baking." she's says glad she finally got it off her chest, wincing thinking this could hurt her friendship with Pinkie since she has been acting weird around her all day. She never wanted to hurt her friends feelings, but her imagination got the better of her.
Pinkie Pie looked wide eyes for a moment but then grinned big. "Oh that's silly, why would I ever want to do that to you Dashie? I mean muffins with pony in them, BLEH! I bet they would taste horrible.......But you know.....Sugar is good at concealing salty flavors. Maybe....Cupcakes?" She turns her head and looks at Rainbow Dash who by now had a look of horror on her face, the color had drained out of her cheeks and before Pinkie could say another word a rainbow streak trailed out of the living room, passed the kitchen and out the front door. A Sonic Rain boom is heard as the windows and doors shakes in all of poniville. A scream from rainbow dash trailing with the rain boom itself could be heard faintly on the wind.
For a moment Pinkie Pie sat on her couch and smiled. She then falls over into a heap laughing and snorting, her hooves flailing and kicking as she says in between laughter. "Ok Applejack you can come out now she's gone." Applejack comes out from the pantry and joins with Pinkie in the hearty laughter. "That'll teach her for pranking us apples, It took us weeks to get all that Manure from the cows off the roof of the barn. It still smells worse than a skunk eating some of granny's baked beans. I guess we can call it even on her now, thanks for the help Pinkie."
Pinkie finally gets control of her laughter. "Hey it was a prank and Pinkie Pie loves to prank. Although I guess someone besides me should tell Rainbow Dash it was a joke, I doubt she will get anywhere near me for a while." she giggle snorts.
Applejack smirks. "I reckon your right, I'll go tell her, if 'in I can ever catch her that is."
