Princess Crystal Rose has been attending Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns for a few weeks, but her parents start to notice how short-tempered and reticent she's become. After talking with her professors about her behavior at school and asking Crystal herself about why she's so unhappy, they decide to send her out to Ponyville to live with her Aunt Twilight's family. Hopefully, the Princess of Friendship will be able to help out a lonely little filly whose best friend is a goldfish.
