I hear my mom talking "Virtue... Virtue wake up. Come on son you gotta get up its your birthday. You don't want to be late for your cutie mark placement test so get up."
"Okay, okay, I`m up mom" says virtue in a very groggy tone.
"Well come downstairs when you get ready cause you have a big day today, and also, happy birthday! I cant believe your already sixteen years old" she says as she heads back down stairs
I get out of bed, or more like roll out of bed
"Come on Virtue, you got to get ready" I say to myself as I stand up on all four`s and walk over to my mirror, and well, lets just say my mane was standing every which way.
So I quickly brush my mane or try to, then throw on my jacket and run downstairs where I see my mom. She's an earth pony, like me. She has a tan coat, with a brown mane, and tail, and purple eyes .
"Good morning sleepy head" she says to me as she hands me a plate of baked eggs and whispers in my ear "i hope you do good on your test honey"
I smile brightly to this. "Oh my favorite!" I say looking at the plate, quickly scarf the eggs down, and look at the clock. Oh man its almost ten o'clock.
I`m supposed to be taking the test at ten. I say "I can't be late." as I get up and rush out the door. "I love you mom I will be back later" I say before shutting the door behind me.
I start galloping so I can get to the auditorium building in the upper class so that I`m not late. I finally make it there with time to spare but I just remembered that we gotta listen to a guy talk about how we should aim to get royal tier cutie marks and stuff.
I enter the building and its huge inside. I say "I`m getting nervous" as I look around at all the other ponies in the huge room.
"The test will begin in a few minutes please take your seat" I hear someone say over the loud speaker.
I look around and chose an open desk while also saying "You got this virtue you got this".
On the desk is the one hundred question test and a pencil
"Good thing its multiple choice" I say to myself
"You may now start the test" the pony on the loud speaker says, I pick up my pencil with my mouth and being the test
Flash forward: One Hour
We all finish with our tests and its time for them to call out what we got and as I sit there thinking to myself 'I hope I did well.'
Then I hear that pony on the loud speaker say my name " Virtue please come to the palace when you are available; there will be some pony waiting for you there"
"Oh man, did I do something bad or what? I've never been to the palace before" I say as I`m walking home
I walk in the door and I`m quickly attacked with a big hug from my mom who asks as she puts me down "How did your test go, what did you get?"
I say in a worried voice "I don't know, they asked me to come to the palace, and that's where I was heading. I just came home to tell you" my mom looks at me with worry in her eyes as I walk out the door again.
I hear her say "Please be careful virtue"
After walking awhile and trying to think if I did something wrong or not, I make it to the palace, and its huge as I walk through the doors to the inside i think 'Its is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.'
I look around trying to figure out who to speak to, and I see a unicorn with light blue coat and dark brown mane and tail, "Maybe that pony may know who I need to talk to" I say hopefully.
I walk over to him and as I get closer I notice he has purple eyes, "Um my name is Virtue and I was told to come to the palace to talk to some pony; you wouldn't happen to know who I am supposed to meet, would you?"
He looks at me like I'm crazy and says "Matter of fact I do kid, and your talking to him, the name is Point Blank"
"Um did he just call me kid? I told him my name is Virtue, I don't like being called kid" I say to myself, afraid that if I said it out loud he would beat me up or something
"So why was I called here then" I ask him, he then looks at me again and says
"Well, you did very well on your test and you have the potential to be a platinum knight which also means you can be what ever you want to be kid
"No way"! I say in a very excited voice.
End chapter one
Prologue:
Hi my name is Virtue, I'm an earth pony. I have a brown coat, white mane, and tail, and green eyes. I live in the city of steel, which really never made sense to me seeing that we use bronze and steam for everything but its pretty cool living in this city, but anyways i'm getting sidetracked sorry.
I've never met my dad. but I've never really needed him. I've always had my mom Adana. and my best friend Retro who comes and visits me sometimes. But anyways today is my birthday and I am turning sixteen which means I get to take my cutie mark placement test or c.m.p.t for short and Im really hoping to be a royal inventor because I just love inventing stuff, its just so fun. Sometimes, I can help people with my inventions.
I just thought I should tell you a little about me and the city I live in, I mean, I have at least till my mom comes and wakes me up so I better hurry.
So I've already told you some but there is more you need to know before the story starts, so as you know I live in the city of steel and it is ruled by King azure, queen dawn and princess sky and there is the high class for royalty and then medium class for the wealthy and then there is the low class which are poor, and I live in the low class but it`s not as bad as you think.
But don`t tell any pony but me and princess Sky have been friends now since I was six years old, because she would sneak out of the palace and go to explore the medium class, but one day she found herself in the lower class and she ended up running into some bullies and I was passing by, and me being all chivalrous decided to go and help her without knowing how to fight or anything...
So it didn't go well for me and I ended up getting beat up. But I still saved her so it was worth it, since then we have been friends for ten years now.
But its weird because she stopped coming around when I was fifteen...
Then I learned that she was engaged to some pony name Emperor, which made me kinda sad that I couldn't see my best friend anymore.
Oh, and before I forget, under the city of steel is a city called Indigo and it is a town full of bat ponies.
The rulers of city of steel don't rule over the bat ponies at all, but I think that the bat ponies are the coolest, I mean granted I haven't seen any cause the rarely come to the surface, but from what I've heard they sound so awesome, but I think this is all I have to tell you.
I hear my mom calling my name to wake me up so this is where my story begins.
