Queen Chrysalis has a young filly named Violect, a young changeling filly, with purple mane, tail, and eyes, different from her mother. Princess Celestia makes an attack on the changelings lair, Chrysalis has no choice, but to leave Violect on the steps of her sworn enemies; Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
Violect is cursed to look like a normal alicorn to blend in properly, but really she is still Chrysalis's daughter, but the curse is suppose to be on Violect because it's a curse for Chrysalis. As Violect grows up to earns her cutie mark, a pink heart with a yellow ring around it, she doesn't know if Princess Celestia is really her mother, she goes to Twilight's library and learns what her origin is.
Violect, now known as Heart Ring learns what her origin is. Celestia makes another attack on Chrysalis, but will Violect make it in time to stop the biggest war that will be named in history?
