//-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight and Sparkling -by MilnaBrony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Another spell gone wrong //-------------------------------------------------------// Another spell gone wrong Twilight had only one place in her castle to truly call it home, and that was the library. She had spent an afternoon going over a new spell book Princess Celestia had sent. After a little reading, Twilight had found a new spell and couldn't wait to test it out. She called for her #1 assistant and asked him for a favor. "Tell me again," Spike said, placing an apple in front of Twilight, "What exactly is going to happen here?" "I already told you Spike," she started to explain, "I'm going to use this separating spell I found that should, theoretically, separate that apple. If it works, the apple should separate from its peel, its flesh, its stem, and its seeds." "So your just gonna try a spell you just learned today, and had no experience with whatsoever?" Spike asked with disbelieve. "Is there a problem?" Twilight asked "Yeah there's a problem!" Spike exclaimed, "What if something goes wrong?" "Spike," Twilight responded, "When has a new spell I learned ever gone wrong?" "Let's see," Spike started, "There was the time when you learned that food making spell and turned Golden Oaks into an orange, there was the time where you learned that water spell that nearly flooded Ponyville, and there was the time you used that age spell and turned our friends into fillies for a week. Ya' know, the question you should be asking is: when has a spell you learned gone right?" After getting a very angry looking glare from Twilight, Spike gave a nervous smile and went to a safe distance in the room. Twilight then brought her focus towards the apple, and started to concentrate. It took a while, but her horn started to glow its magical aura. It almost looked like the spell was going to work until... "Hi Twilight," said Pinkie Pie, who appeared out of nowhere. The sudden surprise caused Twilight to shoot a magical beam out of her horn due to shock. That beam then bounced off of the crystal walls that were in the room, and was about to hit Pinkie Pie. "Pinkie, look out!" Twilight said, pushing her friend out of the way. She saved Pinkie, but Twilight herself to got hit by the beam, and was lifted into the air by its magic. Not only did it look like her wings were getting torn off, but they were also shrinking. Twilight also seemed to be loosing her natural purple coat, and had it replaced by a light pink one. Her wings had finally shrank down to the size of a Pegasus's wing span, and started to gain a darker shade of purple. Not only that, but they looked like they had another pony attached to them. Once the spell had finished, not only one, but two ponies fell on the floor. "TWILIGHT!" Spike screamed, running over to his friend. "Oh my gosh, Twilight!" Pinkie Pie said with worry, "I'm sooooooo, sorry. Are you O.K.?" A dark purple coated pegasus, with five white stars for a cutie mark stood up. She turned, and flew towards Pinkie Pie with an angry look on her face. "I'm fine," she said, "No thanks to YOU. Do you have any idea what could have happened, Pinkie?" "I believe I know exactly what happened," said a pink coated unicorn with a dark pink star over a white star for cutie mark. "You were right Spike," she said, standing next to the pegasus, "It was unwise to use that spell." As they stood next to each other, Spike couldn't help but notice a few similarities between the two ponies. They were the same size, had the same mane cut, and the same purple mane and tale with a pink stripe going down both the mane and tale. Uh Oh, Spike thought, now realizing the situation. "Um..Twilight?" he asked nervously. "What?" the pegasus asked with anger. "He's not talking about you," the unicorn told the pegasus, "He's talking about her." "Who's her?" Pinkie asked with a confused look on her face. "Twilight Sparkle," the unicorn answered. "But aren't the two of you Twilight Sparkle?" Spike asked with concern. "No," the pegasus responded, "I'm Twilight Moon." "And I'm Sparkling Glow," said the unicorn, "We are both separate parts of Twilight Sparkle." "Your WHAT?!" Spike exclaimed. "Allow me to explain," said Sparkling Glow, "The spells main purpose was to split an object. What Twilight Sparkle didn't know was that it could split a pony too. I am clearly the part of Twilight Sparkle, who has magic." "Than why is this Twilight a meanie bo beanie pegasus?" Pinkie asked. "Oh my gosh," Twilight Moon groaned, "Do you realize how stupid that sounds." "Twilight Moon," Sparkling glow continued, "Was the part of Twilight who could fly. It appears the spell not only split her into two different ponies, but also gave us both her different personalities. Twilight Moon got her anger, and I appear to have gotten her wisdom. Does that make sense?" "Absolutely positutely," Pinkie Pie responded. Spikes response, however, was falling face first on the floor. "Wimp," said Twilight Moon. "I guess this was too much for him," said Sparkling, "We're going to have to wait until he wakes up." "Why the hay do we have to do that?" Twilight asked. "So we can send a letter to Princess Celestia," Sparking answered, "I'd bet anything that she'd know what to do." "We shouldn't wait! We should go over there right now and show her what happened," Twilight demanded. "Not only are your being as impatient as Rainbow Dash," Sparkling responded, "You also fail to see the flaws in your shortcuts. The train to Canterlot must have left Ponyville station by now." "Who said anything about taking the train?" and with that Twilight Moon flew out of the library. "Not only are you impatient, your also irresponsible," Sparkling said as she got up, "Pinkie, you stay here. When Spike comes to, tell him to send a letter to Celestia." "Oki doki loki," Pinkie Pie responded, "Wait, what are you going to do?" "I'm going after Twilight," she answered. Author's Note This is a story I'll be working on alongside my other fan fiction, Lucky Horseshoes (https://www.fimfiction.net/story/256797/lucky-horseshoes). I'll be switching from each story either by: Chapter after Chapter, or when I get an idea for a chapter and have to type it out. I'll be doing so until one story is finished, or until I give up on one or the other. Either way, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of Twilight and Sparkle //-------------------------------------------------------// Catching Twilight Moon //-------------------------------------------------------// Catching Twilight Moon Twilight Moon had the whole plan figured out. She was going to fly Canterlot, walk into the castle, tell Celestia what was wrong, and have the princess fix everything (for once). What could possibly go wrong, Twilight thought with confidence. All of a sudden, she flew into something, and that something had a rainbow colored mane. "Hey, watch where your..." Rainbow Dash stopped talking once she saw the pony in front of her. "Oh hey Twilight," she said with a more happy tone, "What's up?" "A pegasus flew into me," Twilight answered, "That's what's up." "Oh, sorry," Rainbow apologized. "Yeah, you should be," Twilight said as she flew away. Rainbow Dash, however, flew right in front of the rude pegasus. "Whoa, calm down," she said to her 'friend,' "It's not like I meant to fly into you." "Yeah right," Twilight responded with a smirk, "You were always a terrible flyer. I mean, why else was your nickname Rainbow Crash." Sparkling Glow was trotting down the street in Ponyville, keeping an eye up to the sky. She was too busy looking for Twilight Moon, she didn't notice the stares a few ponies gave her. They knew their princess well, and they defiantly remembered that she had wings. Sparkling didn't care because she was more worried about Twilight. She's way more faster than me with those wings, she thought, and for all I know, she's practically half way towards Canterlot by now. "YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU PRISSY LITTLE PRINCESS!" yelled a voice from above. Looking up, Sparkling saw Rainbow Dash getting into Twilight Moon's face. Or she could be fighting with Rainbow Dash, Sparkling thought. "I DON'T CARE IF YOUR AN ALL POWERFUL ALICORN PRINCESS!" Rainbow yelled at her supposed friend, "BECAUSE IF YOU EVER CALL ME RAINBOW CRASH AGAIN, I, WILL....." "Rainbow Dash!" called a voice from below. Looking down, Rainbow saw a pink unicorn that looked like.... "Twilight?" Rainbow said with confusion, "Is that you?" "Technically yes," the unicorn answered, "And technically no. I'm Sparkling Glow, and that irritating pegusus is Twilight Moon." Taking a closer look at Twilight, Rainbow Dash realized that her 'friend' was missing something. She was missing something that Rainbow was wondering how she didn't notice before. That thing, was Twilight's horn. "But how did you..." before Rainbow Dash could finish her question, Twilight Moon cut her off. "Butt out Sparkling," she said flying away, "I'm going to fix this." "Wait!" Sparkling called out, "Rainbow Dash, do you think you can catch her?" "You bet I can," Rainbow said, flying away. As both pegasi flew away, Sparkling had another idea. Just in case Rainbow Dash isn't fast enough, Sparkling thought as she teleported away. Applejack was loading a basket of apples into her cart when there was a sudden flash behind her. The very shock not only caused her to drop basket, but caused the apples fall out. Turning around, Applejack saw a familiar looking pony. "Why howdy there Twilight," Applejack said to 'friend,' "Boy, Ya'll are gonna give some pony a heart attack if ya keep doing that." "Applejack I need you to go get your lasso," 'Twilight' told her. Looking carefully, Applejack couldn't help but notice a few differences in her friends appearance. "Excuse me fer askin'," Applejack responded, "But what happened to ya wings?" "I'll explain later," her 'friend' reassured, "Just GO!" How is it that this Twilight is slightly faster than me, Rainbow Dash thought as she chased Twilight Moon, when I can easily beat the real one every time we race? Rainbow had chased Twilight Moon for a while now, and they were almost out of Ponyville. All of a sudden there was brief flash from below, and Twilight Moon had a rope tightened around her back leg. Surprised, Rainbow Dash stopped flying, and looked down. Not only did she see Sparkling, but she also saw Applejack, whom had the other end of the rope in her mouth. "Got ya now ya varmint," Applejack said. However, Twilight Moon just flew even faster and higher. "Or not!" Applejack responded as she started to leave the ground herself. Seeing her plan fall apart, Sparkling got a grip of the farm pony with her magic. Not only did she stop Applejack from taking off, but she also stopped Twilight from flying away. Taking this to her advantage, Rainbow Dash tackled Twilight down to the ground. "OW!" she yelled. "OW!" Sparkling yelled, feeling a large amount of pain. Unfortunately for Applejack, that sudden amount of pain caused Sparkling to lose focus on the levitation spell. "Ow," Applejack said, once she fell to the ground. "Are you okay Applejack?" Sparkling asked, still feeling a little pain. "Ah'm fine Twilight," Applejack reassured her friend, "Out of curiosity, why didn't ya'll just use ya magic in the first place?" Realizing the even better plan, Sparkling face hoofed. "Here's a better question," Rainbow Dash said as she held down Twilight. "How the hay did this even happen." Back at the castle's library, Spike was just waking up. "Man, I just had the weirdest dream," he said, rubbing the side of his head. All of a sudden, Pinkie Pie was right next him. "Was it about Twilight splitting into two ponies with one being a meanie pegasus and the other being a smart unicorn?" She asked as fast as possible. "....Lucky guess," Spike asked with hope. "No silly, it actually happened," Pinkie answered. "Oh, by the way, the part of Twilight that's now a unicorn said that you need to write a letter to Princess Celestia, and tell her what happened." "All right," Spike said as he got up, "Wait a minute? Where are the two Twilights anyway?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Confrontation //-------------------------------------------------------// Confrontation "Ow! Hey that's too tight!" Twilight told Applejack as she tied the purple pegasus to a tree. "Yeah, that is too tight," Sparkling said rubbing her sides, "I know because for some reason, I can feel it." "Well ah'm sorry sugar cube," Applejack apologized, "But ah don't want her - or you - or... whoever she is getting away again." Sparkling had just explained the whole situation to Applejack and Rainbow Dash. She explained it detail by detail, but the two mares were still confused. "Why would you even use that spell in the first place?" Rainbow Dash asked Sparkling. "I didn't do it," Sparkling corrected, "Twilight did." "Hey I didn't do anything," Twilight Moon reacted. "Not you, dunderhead," Sparkling told Twilight, "I'm talking about Twilight Sparkle." "THAT'S IT!" Rainbow yelled, "From now on if we ask a question that is mostly directed to Twilight - and I do mean Twilight Sparkle - you can just go with it. Because this whole you being her, but you're not her, is giving me a headache." "Big shocker there," Twilight said sarcastically, "Rainbow Crash is too confused about a simple situation. Next your gonna say that Pinkie Pie is totally insane. Or that hayseed here doesn't know how stupid she looks in that hat." "Are y'all sure that this she apart of Twilight?" Applejack asked, "Because ah known her long enough to know that she would never act like this." "Long enough? You known Twilight Sparkle for a year and a half," Twilight pointed out, "You didn't even know what to put in that stupid castle in that time she asked you to renovate. And of course I'm a part of Twilight. I'm just the part of her that actually speaks the truth about how she feels about you girls." "You can just shut up," Sparkling interrupted, "You are not allowed to talk after that little stunt you just pulled. I mean, what were you even thinking?" Sparkling was staring at Twilight, waiting to hear an explanation. However, Twilight just remained silent. "Well?!" Sparkling asked with anger. "Oh, I'm sorry," Twilight said with a smirk, "I just thought I wasn't allowed to talk." "Okay, how about this," Sparkling said through gritted teeth, "You don't speak, unless, your spoken too. Deal?" "Deal," Twilight agreed, clearly enjoying every minute of this. "Okay, now would you please tell me, what was your plan exactly?" Sparkling asked as calm as possible. "Well first I was gonna fly to Canterlot," Twilight started, "Mainly because it's pointless to use a train when I can just fly anywhere. Then I was going to get into the castle and tell Princess Celestia to fix this." "There are so many flaws with that plan," Sparkling said with her face in her hoof, "Not only would it take you longer to fly there than it would by taking the train, but the guards wouldn't just let you in the castle." "What makes you say that?" Twilight asked. "Well for one thing, they would just think your a random Pegasus," Sparkling explained, "Even if you would explain to them that you were a part of Twilight Sparkle, they wouldn't believe you. In fact, I'm sure they would just think you were crazy, and throw you into a mental institute." Twilight remained silent for a while, until she found the 'perfect' comeback. "You may think my plan was stupid," she said, "But I like to see you come up with a better one." "I already had a perfect plan Remember?" Sparkling reminded Twilight, "Right before you flew off, I said we should write to Princess Celestia and tell her exactly what happened. When she receives the letter, not only would she understand the situation better, but she would also help us in an instant." "Yeah...well...," Twilight said, trying to find a better comeback, "My way was faster." "Actually," Sparkling said with a smirk, "With how fast it takes Spike to send a letter, and how fast it takes Princess Celestia to respond, this whole problem would have been solved within minutes before you got to the castle." "Yeah, well...um," Twilight was having a hard time figuring out a better comeback, "Your-Your horn is smaller than most unicorns." "At least I have a horn," Sparkling responded. At this point both ponies were giving each other the death stare, and even though she was tied to a tree, Twilight Moon looked like she was gonna tear Sparkling Glow apart. Until... "Twilight!" yelled the voice of Spike, "Or Sparkling. Or whoever the nice one is." Turning around, Sparkling saw Spike and Pinkie Pie running up to the group of ponies. When they got closer, Sparkling noticed Spike was carrying a parchment. "Princess Celestia responded back with..." Spike stopped once he saw Twilights current situation, "Should I even ask why she's tied to a tree?" "No," Sparkling responded, "What did Princess Celestia say?" Spike unrolled the parchment and read the letter. To the Twilight whom receives this letter. I am sad to say that I have no idea how to reverse this spell. I will try my best to find the reversal spell, but until then I am afraid you are stuck like this. Signed, your former mentor, Princess Celestia. When he finished, Spike looked up to see Sparkling with her mouth agape. Twilight however, just looked angry. "Sun butt doesn't know how to fix this?!" she yelled, "Why is she always so useless." Sparkling turned and went back to giving Twilight the death stare. "If she's so useless," she said, "Why would you go and get her help?" "Because she owes us way more than one," Twilight explained, "We did reunite Celestia with her sister, turned Discord to stone, stopped Queen Chrysalis, saved the Crystal Empire, reformed discord, save her and Princess Luna from crazy vines that were made by discord, and sent Tirek back to Tartarus." "You know she kinda has a point," Spike added. "Quite Spike," Sparkling ordered, "And don't you dare talk badly about the Princess again Twilight." "Make me Sparkle," Twilight reacted. "QUIET!" Applejack yelled, "Ah can not stand you two going back and forth like this. Your technically the same pony, ain't that just fightin' with ya self." "A.J. is right," Rainbow Dash chimed in, "If you two are gonna be stuck with each other, you might as well get along." "Yeah, and before you know it, you two will be the bestest of friends," Pinkie Pie added, "It's almost like being best friends, but with yourself." Twilight and Sparkling both looked at each other. Even thought they hadn't agreed on anything in the past few hours, they did agree on one thing. "This will not end well," they said in unison.
