Love Letter pt. 2
A very special day.
Load Full StoryRarity raced around the boutique, bumping into clothing racks, and spilling fabric. She would occasionally run upstairs, the almost instantly back down, trailing a cloud of dust behind her. It had not long ago been Spike's 17th birthday, and when you're a dragon, once you 17, you are of age. After the party, Spike had done something for Rarity, he had proposed. It had been a month and so, and it was wedding day. Rarity wanted to look absolutley flawless. She bumped around and ruined the layout of the Carousel Boutiqe, but she didn't care. The only thing on her mind was being on time, and arriving perfectly dressed.
"Oh dear! Opal, does this dress look fine?" Rarity asked to her pet. Opal just rolled her eyes and began licking her paw.
"Oh of course! I can't show up in this dust mop!" Rarity said.
Rarity was doing everything she could, but there was no time to do so. In the distance a clock struck three 'o' clock. The wedding was in fifteen minutes.
"Oh dear!" Rarity screamed. She took one last look in the mirror. "Well this will have to do."
She bolted out the door, and headed for fields outside of Ponyvile as fast as her legs could take her. At last she arrived, still looking fabulous. She had made just in time, the reception was starting. Rarity looked to the crowd and saw familiar faces. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Princess Twilight Sparkle had all showed up, looking as best they could. Then Rarity saw her parents, who were wearing something familiar. Her mother was wearing a dress that she once made for the Grand Galloping Gala, and her father was wearing a tuxedo which she created for a socialite who ran a fashion store up in Canterlot. Then Rarity saw the one she had picked to be best mare.
"Rarity! There you are!" Sweetie Belle said.
Despite the Cutie Mark Crusader having been disbanded years ago, Sweetie Belle was still as eager to do anything as ever.
"Go on! Spike's waiting for you!"
Rarity raced up behind the stage, and took her spot next to a large, plump, wing-less, pureple and green dragon.
"What took you so long?" Spike asked in a whisper.
"Oh be quiet you." Rarity snapped, as a cheeky grin spread on the dragon's face.
Then a voice spoke i front of the curtain that was masking the couple. It sounded very familiar to Rarity. It was slightly high pitched, though there was no mistaking this was a teen-aged mare speaking. It was Sweetie Belle. She talked about the couple, and said many words of wisdom, until at last she said...
"And now, please welcome our couple today. Spike and Rarity."
The curtains drew open slightly, making a doorway for the couple. The pony and dragon stepped into the light of the sun, and heard the hoofs stomping. Sweetie Belle confronted the couple.
"Do you, Spike, take this pony to be your lawfully wedded wife?" she asked.
"I do." Spike answered
Sweetie Belle then turned to Rarity.
"And do you, Rarity, take this dragon to be your lawfully wedded husband?" she asked.
And without even hesitating, or thinking, Rarity answered, "I do."
"Then I no pronounce you, mare and...uh...dragon, I guess?" Sweetie Belle said, unsure how to phrase it.
The crowd stomped as loud as possible, some even crying tears of joy. The newly wedded couple walked of the stage, through the crowd, and to the feast. The crowd followed, and the celebration began. Rarity and Spike were just settling down when, suddenly;
"HOORAY! YOU TWO ARE MARRIED! I. AM. SO. HAPPY!" cried Pinkie Pie, leaving the couple with frightened looks on their faces. Pinkie then bounced away singing a happy tune of some kind.
"Oh well," Rariy said. "It had to happen eventually."
