//-------------------------------------------------------// You Like My Music, Don't You Tavi -by NightmareAngel- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Vinyls POV I trot out of the club after completing my set, my ears still ringing from the almost deafening music but not in a way that makes me regret going. To me it means success, it's what I live for. The bright lights, the thumping music,  people enjoying what I have created, it's almost exhilarating. The cool night air blows through my fur and pushes strands of my mane into my eyes, making me blink. Rain drops start to fall, making me grumble. "Great, I'm already freezing and now it's raining." I complain, starting to run down the roads. "Need a lift?" I hear from slightly above me. The cabbie slows down a bit so that he's in time with me. "Hey you're DJ Pon-3 right? My son is a big fan of yours. So do you need a lift home?" he asks. "I have no money." I tell him, raking my brain for any spare bits I may have brought out with me. But I specifically took them out of my bag before I came out. I have been mugged one too many times to make that mistake again. "Don't worry, pretty mares like you ride free on nights like this." He winks at me. This unsettles me slightly and I consider running away but the rain starts to fall heavier and I know that Tavi will be annoyed if I get wet hoofprints in the house. I take a deep breath before smiling bravely at him. "Thank you so much." I say. I climb onto the cart and he starts running down the road, double the speed I was going. When he reaches my house I grab a piece of parchment and a quill, scribbling a quick signature. "For your son. Thanks for the ride." I say, handing him the piece of paper and running inside before he can say anything. I trot through the house, stopping to grab a towel from the bathroom before I continue through to the kitchen. I grab a few leftover slices of pizza and throw them into the microwave and start to unpack my bag when I notice something is wrong. I stand frozen for a moment in the middle of the room, listening carefully. I can hear some of the music I usually listen to (Mostly Neon Lights and various other DJs like me, a bit of Green Neigh thrown in here and there) playing faintly. That's strange, I remember turning off my CD player before I left the house so it didn't wake Octavia up and annoy her. I walk slowly towards the bedroom, trying to make as little sound as possible. I push open my door slightly and see Octavia sat on the bed, my headphones over her ears, dancing crazily to the music. I giggle softly at this before walking into the room and standing in front of the mare. "Enjoying that?" I laugh, making her jump. She rips off the headphones and stares at me in shock. "Vinyl! You're home earlier than usual." She says, laughing nervously. "It started raining so I caught a cab back. What were you doing with my headphones?" I ask her. "Oh well uh, you see, the thing is, I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd give it a quick listen and see what all the fuss is about." She admits. I smirk at her. "You like my music, don't you Tavi." She blushes slightly. "Well, I, I'm not sure I'd say like. It's really uh, m-much more of an uhm well I'd say it's more of an uhm, I don't hate it thing." she stammers. "Oh right yeah sure." I say before jumping up and tackling her onto the bed. "I'm sure that's exactly what happened." I whisper in her ear, making her blush harder. I'm about to kiss her when a loud beeping makes us both jump. "Ugh I forgot I put pizza in the microwave. Be right back." I say before running into the kitchen and eating the now warm leftovers. When I'm done I throw my plate into the sink and trot back into the bedroom. Octavia is curled up on her side of the bed, fast asleep, my headphones next to her still playing. "Oh Tavi." I whisper with a smile. I turn off the CD player and crawl into bed beside her, kissing her forehead lightly before falling asleep. Just a random little fanfic I threw together. I wrote this at quarter past one in the morning so sorry if it sucks XD Why has no one sold their soul to make this ship canon yet? I love couples with differences but also small similarities (Thought we were different as the night is from the day until Twilight Sparkle helped us see another way) so I guess that's why I ship OctaScratch so much. Or maybe it's because I have no life. Maybe we will never know. Fun times! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 "Good morning sleep head." Tavi whispers in my ear. My eyes flicker open and I turn to look at her with a smile. "Well hello there miss Tavilicious." I laugh, running a hoof over her mane. As much as I love the night this has to be my favourite time of day, just after Octavia has woken up. Her mane is unkept and she's so much calmer when she hasn't quite had a chance to wake up yet. "I wish you wouldn't call me that." She mutters. "You love it really." I tease. "What do you have planned today?" I ask, stretching my legs while she shuffles out of the bed. "Nothing much, I'll probably just practise my music." She tells me. A grin spreads across my face. "I have an even better idea." I say, jumping out of bed and running around getting ready. I tie a ribbon around her eyes and lead her to my destination, on top of a tall hill. I set down a checked blanket and picnic basket before uncovering her eyes. She gasps a little. "Vinyl, this is beautiful." She whispers, staring at the view across ponyville. Suddenly she tackles me into a hug, letting her walls down for once. "Thank you so much." She says, kissing my nose. We start to eat quietly. "I've never been on a picnic before." She tells me suddenly. "We were always too busy." she says. "Maybe this should be a weekly thing." I joke but a big grin smiles across her face and I know she won't let me out of it easily. "How about once two weeks?" I reason. She thinks for a moment and nods with a smile. "Deal." When we're done eating we just lie back and stare at the clouds. It's strangly relaxing, just lying here in silence with Octavia. I can't help but think back to when we met. I barely spent a moment being quiet, playing my music or going to a party or just generally being loud every minute I spent not sleeping. But then was when I was younger, just starting out as a DJ and an adult in the real world. Now I feel like I have my life in order and I'm actually settled, something I never thought I'd be. All thanks to Octavia. I can't help but smile and feel like the luckiest mare in Equestria. I actually started this as a filler so that I could reach the 1,000 word minimum but it ended up being kinda cute. Once again, this was written very early so sorry for any suckishness you may experience while reading this XD
