I groaned inwardly as they pulled me towards the Principal's Office. Long story short, I was just pulled off of another student forcibly because we had been fighting. I'd been going to Canterlot North University for a year now, living in my own dorm by myself. I'd seen bullying everywhere, and this was not my first fight this year. Celestia even knew me by name now. Not that I cared. The whole school's system was bucked up. Bullying was everywhere, and only one or two teachers actually gave a buck about the students. This was the last straw. I was gonna let Celestia see how bad this place really was.
They shoved me in the room, closing the door behind me, Celestia already sitting at her desk, no doubt already told about the whole thing. Regardless, she still asked "So what happened this time, Shadow?" I narrowed my eyes.
"Oh you know what happened." I said bluntly.
"But I want to hear your side."
"Okay, fine, you wanna know what happened? I did what your school won't!" I spat, challenging her to deny my statement.
"And what exactly is it that my school won't do? Beat a student senseless?" she countered.
"No, your school won't stop all the damned bullying! It's gotta end somewhere, Celestia, why don't you see that?!" I began to raise my voice.
"Shadow Mane, lower your voice, and don't get an attitude with me." She said in a condescending voice.
"Why? Because you don't want anyone else to hear how shitty you are as a Principal?" I said mockingly quietly.
"I'll have you kno-"
"Ah, ah, stop right there, I know what you're gonna say. You're considered one of the best Principals in Equestria. In your Equestria. Which means you probably got voted for because you are literally the ruler of the place." I growled.
She sighed. "I suppose I should stop the bickering, and just let you know the news."
"What news?" I asked, suddenly wary of what she was about to say. They were probably gonna kick me out.
My eyes widened, then narrowed again as Celestia broke the news. "We'll be moving you into a new dorm with a few other students. I'm sorry, Shadow Mane, but your grades have been slipping, and your behavior is getting questionable. You need to socialize. I can't let such a good, smart pegasus throw their life away because they'd rather be alone."
I rolled my eyes. "Look, I know you're concerned about me because of the fight, but that wasn't because I'm alone, it was because he was picking on some colt just 'cause they were gay! What the hell kinda bullshit is that?" I yelled. "What kinda school are you running?! I can't go anywhere without seeing bullying, even from some of the teachers! Ms. Harshwhinny especially!"
"Shadow Mane, calm down, dear, please. That isn't why, I was considering this even before the fight. And as far as the bullying goes, we are trying our hardest to stop i-" I cut her off.
"Like hell you are! If you really were, you'd actually expel the damn students, and fire the teachers!" I was yelling as loud as I could now. I'd had enough of this school's system. I don't care if she was Princess, I was about to let her know how I feel. "Damn you, Celestia, and your sister too! Damn you both! This ain't over, you better remember that! Buck. You!" I screamed louder still, slamming the door to the conference room behind me. Students in the hall were staring at the door, and now me. They must have heard. Oh well.
I stomped off towards my dorm. I charged inside, kicking the door closed behind me. It wasn't the transfer I was angry about, no, it was the whole damn system. Why is the world so bucking careless?! I don't normally get angry, but damn it, who the hell has the kind of mind to make fun of others for being different?! I let out a loud yell, punching the bathroom mirror. It cracked, a few pieces falling to the floor, blood streaking down my fist and knuckles as I hissed in pain. When the hell did I even get in the bathroom?
I walked back into the main room, trying to remember where I kept the bandages. Buck it, who cares, I'll just pack my shit up so I can hurry up and move.
Two hours later, I'm walking in the rain with a backpack and a duffel bag, heading for my new dorm. If I get paired with anyone who is even slightly ignorant, or arrogant, or immature, or anything, oh Celestia better hope she fixes it fast. I've got plenty of evidence to get the school in trouble for behavioral issues. Actually, I suppose not considering the Goddess of the Sun runs the place...
I was nodding my head slowly to the blaring music in my headphones. I finally got to the bigger dorms, which were basically houses on campus. I found the one I was meant to be assigned to, and slowly knocked on the door, pulling my headphones to hang around my neck.
The door opened to reveal a pegasus mare a little shorter than me, but not much. Her coat was grey, her mane a mix of blue and black. "Oh, hi, hang on!" she said happily, turning around to shout for someone else. "Mystic, the new guy's here!"
"Alright, tell him to come in, I'm getting dressed!" a new voice shouted back.
"He can hear you, ya know!"
"Oh well!"
The mare in front of me rolled her eyes. "Sorry about Mystic, she's pretty... Open... Anyways, my name is Serenity, and you must be Shadow Mane? I didn't think our new stallion roommate would be so cute!" She spoke like I was the greatest thing she'd ever seen.
I blushed, and nodded. "But you can call me Shads. Thank you for letting me stay here..." I said halfheartedly. I suppose it was obvious that I wasn't too happy about being moved.
"Well, come on in, I will show you your room, and introduce you to everyone else." she said kindly, despite my attitude. I felt bad for acting so pissy when she didn't do anything to me. I nodded, following her in. After a brief tour of the house, and a discovery that her and Mystic were the only two home currently, she showed me to Mystic, a rather punk-looking unicorn mare. Her coat was black, and she had a black and purple mane.
Suddenly, Serenity gasped. "Oh my god, you both have black fur!" She squealed. My own coat was black as well, but my mane was black and red. My eyes themselves were probably blue at the time. My eyes changed from red and blue depending on my mood, something to do with excess pegasus magic. However, they couldn't see my eyes because of my replica Vinyl Scratch goggles.
Mystic rolled her eyes. "I like your goggles." she said in a tired voice, smiling a little at me.
"Thanks, got them from DJ-PON3 herself." I said proudly.
"That is so cool, I've always wanted to meet her." she said in a dreamy voice. Serenity pushed her playfully.
"Earth to fangirl! Mayday, mayday, Cloud 9 is coming down!" She laughed, and Mystic shoved her back, smiling. I just stood and watched, not sure what to do. "Oh, sorry, Mystic can show you to your room again, and make sure you get settled in." Serenity said, realizing I was a third wheel.
"Alright, sorry, this way, Shadow Mane!" Mystic said, heading for the stairs. I followed slowly. I won't lie, with her walking up the stairs right in front of me, and the leggings she was wearing, I found it hard not to stare. When we reached the top, she led me to my room again, walking in with me. I looked around, happy with the small space.
"Thanks, really, I appreciate it..." I said in my usual quiet tone. I set my stuff in the corner to unpack it later, and turned to see her staring at me with googly eyes. She blushed, realizing I'd seen her staring.
"Oh, um, s-sorry, I'll uh, I-I'll be leaving. Make yourself at home!" She stuttered out quickly before rushing out, closing the door behind her. I thought to myself for a moment.
Eh, maybe this won't be so bad after all.
