Dear Diary,
During my studies, I realized that Nightmare Moon, a great legend, would return on the Summer Sun Celebration. the book said Nightmare Moon would come back on the longest day of the thousandth year, or the day after tomorrow! Of course, I quickly sent a letter to Princess Celestia about my findings, but she just said to 'stop reading those dusty old books!' She also told me that there is more to life then studying. I told Spike that I don't quite get that. He said that was stupid, and wouldn't tell me any more.
On the letter the Princess sent me, she gave the task of supervising the preparations of the Summer Sun Festival in Ponyville, and to make some friends. Hnng.....
When Spike and I landed in Ponyville, Spike persuaded me to try and make some friends. So I said hi to a pink mare, Pinkie Pie, I think. Now, really, all I said was hello, and she gasped, and kind of flew into the air, and ran off... still in the air. Trying very hard to ignore the fact that this mare had just broken one of the most well known law of physics, I continued my task. (And by that I mean planning the Summer Sun Celebration, not,er, making friends....)
My first stop was Sweet Apple Acres. I met an orange mare with a blond mane, named Applejack. I guess she seemed nice, but after she introduced me to all of her family members, (Apple Fritter, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and so on) she forced an apple into my mouth. That really hurt, you know! Anyway, I tried to leave, but somehow they persuaded me to stay for brunch. (And don't blame me, you should have seen that filly's eyes!)
When brunch finally finished, I went on, until Rainbow Dash, a pegasus with a mane that fits her name, rudely crashed into me. She soaked me in mud, and dried me off by creating some sort of rainbow tornado. I suppose it worked, but the wind COMPLETELY messed up my mane. Then, to prove to me she was 'the most awesome flier in Equestria,' she cleared the sky in ten seconds flat. Well, more then that, but pretty darn fast. She flew off, and left me with Spike.
Then I went to the town hall, where a unicorn fashion designer greeted me. Spike immediately was hooked to, uh, Rarity, if I remember correctly. Rarity was going on about my hair, as it was a disaster. She made me try on so many outfits, until she found a nice dress. Rarity was chatting to herself about rubies and emeralds, and trotted away to get some jewels. I took this chance to escape before she had the time to dye my mane or something crazy like that.
Walking out, I heard some chirping noise. The sound came from a few birds that a yellow pegasus was training. I didn't quite catch the mare's name, because she was so quiet. Well, at least until she spotted Spike. That mare went CRAZY on Spike, and instantly started chatting away. They kept talking until we reached the library, my temporary home. we said good-bye, and Spike and I went in. It was pitch black. Then the lights went on, and BOOM, I was surrounded by a hundred ponies. That pink mare from before came into view, and started chattering like crazy.
I wasn't really paying attention, so I poured ~~a bit~~ a lot of hot sauce into my drink. I swear to Celestia, my mouth was about to fall off. I washed my mouth with water,quickly trotted to bed, and thought about the day, and this whole 'friend' thing.
Some time later, it was the Summer Sun Celebration. Everypony was waiting for Princess Celestia to show up, but she didn't. It was just like my studies! Nightmare Moon appeared, and threatened to cover the land in darkness, FOREVER!
Now, I need to get some sleep, so....
Dear Diary,
I am now awake and ready to write about my experience with Nightmare Moon. You see, as soon as I saw Nightmare Moon, or Princess Luna as you will see later, I rushed to the library. (Now that I think about it, why didn't I just teleport?) I was trying to find a way to stop Nightmare Moon, but then Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and that one yellow mare with the pink mane came in. Oh, Rainbow said her name was Fluttershy. I told them all about my predictions about Nightmare Moon, and how only the Elements of Harmony could stop them. I couldn't find anything on them! Then Pinkie Pie pushed me over and took out a book about the Elements. I should have known, it was under E!
There are six elements of Harmony, but only 5 are known. They are Kindness, Loyalty, Generosity, Honesty, and Laughter, while the 6th is unknown. The Elements were located in what is now known as the Everfree Forest!
So of course the girls and I went in to find the Elements. We were on a cliff when it broke of from the mountain, and we all went screaming except for Applejack. I was falling, because Applejack told me it would be OK to let go of her hooves. Rainbow and Fluttershy caught me, thankfully, and everypony was safe.
Then we encountered a manticore, an lion with bat wings and horns. The six of us (Well, five because Fluttershy didn't want to) charged, and stopped when we saw Fluttershy calming the manticore. That mare sure is good with animals! I asked her how she did it, and she said that sometimes, you just have to be kind.
We were walking on, when the sky went black, and the trees started to glow with scary faces. (Rainbow said she wasn't scared at all, but I heard her scream.) Pinkie Pie burst into a song, laughing and everything. She sang a tune about how when scary things come, all you have to do is laugh! It worked, too! Soon we were rolling on the ground..... what is it that Spike always says? Oh, yeah, 'LOL'.
Our next obstacle was a crying dragon. His mustache was torn of, and he looked 'simply horrid'. Rarity sliced off part of her tail, and used her magic to turn it into a replacement for the dragons mustache. I never knew that fashionista was so generous.
We were almost there, so I broke into a sprint. Due to my cruddy reflexes, I almost fell off a cliff... again. There was supposed to be a bridge but it was broken. Rainbow flew over to fix the bridge, but she was delayed by a group of 'Shadowbolts' that tried to persuade her to join them. Rainbow stayed loyal to us, and rejected. The six of us went into a castle. The Elements were there, but they were in stone.
I ordered the other mares to leave, because it was something I needed to do alone. Nightmare Night appeared, and shattered the Elements.
I suddenly knew what Princess Celestia meant by there are more important things in life then studying. At that moment, my 5 friends burst in. Fluttershy was Kindness. Rarity was Generosity. Rainbow Dash was Loyalty, Applejack was Honesty, and Pinkie was Laughter! I was the Element of Magic.
The 6 of us turned Nightmare Moon back into her original state, or Princess Luna, Celestia's sister. Pinkie planned a party to celebrate the return of Princess Luna, and my new task was to learn the lessons of friendship, and to stay in Ponyville with my new best friends!
