What else can go wrong?

I can't believe I'm going to do this, what is wrong with me?  How can I explain this to anypony if I like mares?  Oh no!  My parents, they'll kill me if I can't have a foal.  What am I thinking about?  Magic can fix that.  Oh my gosh, I'm planning a baby with APPLEJACK and nothing has even happened yet.  Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.  There's my room, it's right there and I can't stop now.  In a few minutes I'm going to do something I only thought about a couple times and those were quick thoughts on lonely nights.  I mean sure they were-"

    "Sugarcube, I have to tell ya, I've only been with another mare and I'm not the best at this," Applejack was right behind Rainbow Dash, she could smell her arousing juices, "But I betcha it's gonna be better than what some stallion can give ya."

    Stopping suddenly she felt Applejack bump into her rump, "Dash, we should wait to get to bed before I bump into you, heh.  Dash?  Please say something."

    "Uh, Applejack.  There's something wrong."

    "Oh no, I don't think this' wrong; I've waited so long for this. You ain't yella, are ya?" she teased and challenged.

    "There's smoke coming from town, we have to check it out, I'm sorry AJ, I was, am ready but there could be someone hurt down there," Rainbow Dash looked back at AJ, "We are not done with this."

    "Oh, thank goodness Help me to the balloon," Applejack said determined to fix this problem, "then lets get back to our date."

    Rainbow Dash snapped her head, "This was a date?"

    "Well, I think it turned into one and maybe it's best we wait a spell before we rush into things, now that you know my secret I think I should know one of yours.  Just to keep this a balanced relationship."

    "Relationship?!  I-I"

    "We're in a friendship relationship Sugarcube, not a real one.  Not yet anyways," Applejack said with a wink.

    "Okay, I like to watch ponies through their windows at night sometimes."

    "Wait, you're a peeping filly?  I never woulda guessed," Applejack pressed a hoof to her chest acting shocked.

    "Whatever, let's just get this over with before I lose my nerve, not that I'd ever lose to you."

    Landing the balloon Applejack tied it off and ran to find several houses on fire.  Unicorns were using magic to try to control the spreading flame while some earth ponies were gathering at a safe distance watching their personal belongings and memories burn up as they cried and others splashed water bucket by bucket from the water tower or stream while clinging to hope.  Pegasus were flying buckets of water from the lake as fast as their wings could carry them, their faces determined to do something.

    "This is terrible AJ, where's Twilight?  She could put this out in a second," Rainbow asked as they galloped to the scene.

    "Don't know but knowin' her let's get to the library," Applejack called behind her as she led the way to the Golden Oaks Library.

    Galloping as fast as they could she and Rainbow Dash made it to the library door at the same time and began pounding as hard as they could, "Twilight?  Hurry, there's an emergency where are you?"

    "I'll check the windows upstairs," Rainbow Dash said as she flew around the tree to the balcony.  Looking in she could see Twilight sleeping on her bed with books scattered around her.  Her mane was unkempt and she looked like she was snoring, "Great, she read herself into another soda.  Cola?  Coma?  Whatever, TWILIGHT SPARKLE?" Rainbow Dash shouted as she reared and landed on the window cracking several panes.

    Stirring and moving her head ears to the sound Twilight slowly registered the noises at her door and window, "Oh my gosh, did I oversleep?  What time is it?  Is that dawn?  I have a report to finish!  Rainbow Dash, thanks for waking me up," Twilight said as she unlocked and opened the window so her friend could get in.

    Flying quickly she told Twilight of the situation and they got to the front door and pulled it open as Applejack was coming down from a rear and landed with an oof on Twilights face, "Oh, Darlin' Ahm so sorry, yer bleedin' somethin fierce, I'll get you a towel.  Spike, where ya at, we need yer help!"

    Speaking nasally as she got up, blood dripping from the cut on her nose she crossed her eyes to try to see the damage, "Heth ath Rariteth sthlumber party.  I'm uhkay, eths get to the fure."

    With her nose bleeding as they rushed out leaving Applejack in the library who was preoccupied finding a towel they made it to the fires and Twilight began casting a spell.  As she was about to release the magic that accumulated within her horn Applejack shoved a towel onto her wound.  With a panic Twilight forgot part of the spell she was casting.  The arcane energies twisted as her distracted mind as she looked at the towel that was now on her nose and the hoof holding it there suddenly vanished from her sight.

    The purple energy that was released hit Applejack in the chest singeing her fur and mane as she fell back several feet, her body wrapped with white mystical binds that sparkled with energy.  Applejack screamed in pain as the mystic energies tore into her mind filling every part of her body with a pain she had never known.

    "Oh nononono, Applejack, I don't know what happened, I'll get you out of these things," Twilight shouted with worry as she and a few other onlookers ran to help.  Touching the white binds sent the other ponies into shock as they trembled and spasmed on the ground around Applejack.  Twilight stopped a length away and began casting a dispel as a roof collapsed above them.  Twisting the spell to her favor she turned it into a shield the covered herself and Applejack as she dove next to her friend who was restraining herself from screaming as best she could through clenched teeth.

    With a quick teleport they were in the middle of the street and safe as Twilight cast a very large indirect area dispel.  Other unicorns had their powers stopped and felt the energies they had focused leave their minds and bodies as their knees trembled at the sudden loss of energy.  The binds circling Applejack fizzled away and she gasped for breath several times.  Looking at the fire Twilight cast the spell correctly this time sending mystical shock waves out from her horn covering several blocks.  The fire vanished as though it were a match that had been blown out.

    Applejack was gasping for air still as she rolled to her side as Rainbow Dash landed next to her.  "AJ? AJ?!  Are you okay?  I saw you get hit with magic and then heard you screaming.  I couldn't get here fast enough and you almost, almost..." Rainbow Dash gasped as she cradled her friend in her forelegs.

    Applejack looked up at Rainbow Dash and smiled as her gasping slowed, the whole world fell away as they looked into each other eyes.  Rainbow Dash did something she didn't expect herself to ever do, much less do in public.  She leaned in and kissed Applejack cupping Applejacks chin in her hoof as gasps were made around them that they didn't even hear.  The world turned black and began to fill with blue and red swirling lights bathing them in warm light.  Pulling away after a long ten seconds Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and felt her heart racing as she looked into Applejacks green eyes.

    Then reality came crashing back to them as Rainbow Dash looked around to the faces of Twilight and several dozen other ponies staring at them.

"Oh. My. Gosh." Rainbow Dash said as she backed away from Applejack, fear and embarrassment filling her mind as she trembled and looked back at Applejack.  Rainbow Dash looked at Twilight who was smiling in an awkward way, almost like she knew something but didn't know what to say.
