Shield woke up to the sound of changeling spawn running over the top of his cell and through the vents, he looked up and caught a glimpse of one as it looked down at him and screeched before running off. There was thuds at the solid metal door of his cell and sparks flew from the hinges as it was cut from the frame, it fell inwards and a armoured figure of a unicorn stood staring at him before levitating a duffel bag over to him and dropped it, "Here put this on." "Silver?" Shield asked and the unicorn backed away into the light, showing his grey mane and brown fur, proving that he was in fact Shields old friend Silver-Sword. Shield looked down at the bag and opened it, inside was a set of Guard armour which he put on before stepping out of the cell and looking at his old friend. "Whats going on?" He asked, picking up the lance that came with his armour and putting it in his holder on the armour, "I'm getting you out, come on lets go." Came the reply as the unicorn turned and started down the hallway. "Aren't you gonna get in trouble for this?" "No, Armour pardoned everybody, welcome back to the guard bud." "Shit." Shield muttered under his breath as him and his friend ran to the exit of the holding areas. "Lets head back the way I came, through the guard barracks." Silver said over his shoulder and ran up a set of stair to the upper levels, Shield followed him. A jammed door blocked their path and Shield moved up in front of his friend, as a earth pony he had a larger frame than the unicorn and with a single well placed kick he sent the door flying off its hinges to reveal the corpses of two dead prison guard plastered to the wall with green cocoons. "Nice..." Shield said sarcastically as he walked past the rotting ponies, Silver following behind him. "What has been going on in this dungeon?" he asked. "You don't want to know." Shield simply said before moving on to a bridge that connected the cell building to the main complex, armoured chariots flew over head, one on fire from damage it had sustained flew into the side of a watch tower and smashed the foundation, sending the thing tumbling over as the chariot smashed into the ground past it. "Shield look out!" Silver yelled, ducking behind cover as green streaks of magic flew past them from a pair of changeling on the other end of the bridge. Shield ducked down into cover too as Silver fired back with his own magic, forcing the black horse things into cover as well, "Keep them pinned I'm gonna get in close" Shield yelled over the noise as Silver kept firing, sending streaks of silver magic at the changelings. Shield vaulted over his cover and moved up, pulling out his lance and taking it into his mouth, He got close enough to one of the changelings and he rammed the sharp end of the lance into its chest, it stuck and he had to turn and kick the second one in the head with a apple buck, sending it flying back to thud against the railing of the bridge. Shield looked back at Silver as he ran to catch up with him. The next room was a armoury and the pair stocked their weapons, Shield replaced his lost lance and the two of them picked up some magic bombs before heading into the main room of the next building. Below their was changelings waiting for them, blast of green magic exploding around them as they ran down the stair and took cover, the two of them working together and some well placed magic bombs made quick work of the black pony shaped things. Silver stood up and had a look around, the changeling had the advantage of magic, wings, and being highly resilient but sometimes they used weapons and it was always helpful to look for extras, He found a pair of swords and passed on to Shield, "See if you can find some more stuff." he said and continued looking. Shield put the sword away but kept his lance at the ready, there was groaning and the door to the large room had sparks flying from it as some one cut it from the other side. "Get to some cover, might be changeling cutting the door." Shield yelled over to Silver who ducked down behind a fallen support not far from Shield. The sparks stopped and the door fell back, kicking up dust, another all blue unicorn came through wearing armour, and a grin on her face. "Hey Silver see you got Shield come on we need to get to the evac." She said stepping over the fallen door. "Wait a second, sorry Blue but you know the drill, favourite colour?" She mare smiled, "That's easy, it's blue, my name is Blue-Berry after all." She said matter of factually but Silver pointed his horn at her, before he could act a spear erupted from her chest and the armour guard fell over, coughing up green ichor, a mare who looked exactly the same stood behind the fallen mare, "My favourite colour is Yellow, dumbass." She said, pulling the spear out of the now dead changeling as it's disguise failed. " She looked up at Silver who looked up, no longer pointing his horn at her, "Blue?" he asked, "Well of course ya dip shit, when have I ever said more than ten word without a friggin swear work in there somewhere." She said, kicking the dead changeling as she walked past it. She looked over at Shield, "I see you got out of your little cell, hope you had a nice rest cause the shit hit the fan and we need everypony we can get to help with the fight, because of that Shining-Armour gave everyone a pardon, I told him he was fuck all crazy but he didn't listen." She looked back over her shoulder and then turned to them, "okay we need to get to the chariots pick up zone, we are the last one to go so they won't be coming back for us if we miss the evac, come on!" she yelled the last pit and hefted her spear with her magic. Silver and Shield behind her as they ran out into the court-yard, changelings where everywhere. Some spotted them and soon the trio where running for cover and ducking behind walls as green bolts of magic exploded around them. Silver fired back with his own magic and Blue and Shield went around to flank the changelings, Shield came upon one and oped out of using his lance, instead he used his foreleg to kick the changeling in the head hard enough to send it spinning and slumped over on the ground, it's jaw clearly broken as it lay two feet away from it's face. Blue was having an easier time moving up the side because she could fire back at the changelings with her own magic, softening them up before getting close enough to stab them with her spear. The three of them slowly made their way across the court-yard, killing all of the changelings that got in their way, a glowing ball appeared beside Blue, the voice of one of the pegasi pulling the chariots projecting through it as they flew down to land out in the field beyond the broken down wall of the court-yard. "You guys better hurry up, we have reading of something big approaching and we don't want to be on the ground when it gets here." "You heard him move your asses." Blue yelled. They all double timed it for the chariot as the ground shook beneath them, Shield stole a look back and saw a giant changeling bearing down on them, its massive mouth in a evil grin as they ran faster, Blue and Silver getting to the chariot and Shield jumping to make the last couple of feet just as it started to pull away, behind them the Changeling roared in anger as its meal got away.
