Record Pulse is a DJ.
Well, not really. He used to work for what has to be the worst label on the face of Equestria, BassDrop Studios, but after saying goodbye to that company (to Record's relief) and living with a roommate, making dubstep is now a hobby to Record, not a paid job. He now stays at home and makes tracks for free, wanting to be like the bigger DJs like Dj-Pon3, even though he's already told himself he couldn't.
Until DJ-Pon3 announces the 'Battle of the Mixers', a competition that boasts to 'help you show the world what you've got'.
The grand prize? Money, merchandise, fame, and a ticket to meet the 'Queen of Dubstep' herself, DJ-Pon3 - make a track with her, no less.
