Chapter 2- A Murder And Short Introductions To The Main Characters

Previous Chapter

Bright Light was trotting downtown at night, her saddlebags on her side, slightly flattening her yellow fur. She brushes her pink and purple mane out of her face, and let the braided hair fall down her neck. She stopped as she passed an alleyway, taking a look down it.
I think I can see something there... Bright Light starts to move down the alley to get a better look at whatever's down there.
"H-hello?" She calls out, then waits for an answer. Getting none, she continues moving down. Something falls over, and Bright Light snaps her head around to look at the fallen object. It's just a bucket... The yellow coat mare is about to take another step, when a tall figure standing on two legs seemingly appears out of nowhere in front of her. Bright Light screams in surprise and begins to run out of the alley, her hooves clopping against the floor, but something sharp is thrown directly into the back of her neck, causing her to fall over. The object had landed nicely in her spine, paralysing her, and missing her veins. The mare can just look up before the sharp object is removed from her spine and planted deeply into the top of her head, killing her. Strangely, no blood was coming out of Bright Light's skull.

"I don't like yellow."

"We cannot confirm the identity of the deceased mare at this moment, due to the fact that she was skinned. But, we can confirm how she died." A stallion wearing a neat brown suit and red tie speaks to the relatively small crowd in front of him. He pushes a loose strand of his red mane back down and moves over to the large board behind him. "As you can see, she was killed with a sharp object, presumably a knife of some sort." He adjusts his jacket, which covers his dark-blue fur. "But strangely enough, no blood exited the wound. We do not know why, but we hope to find out." The stallion looks back at the crowd. "Now that you know all of this, get to work. We need information, and we need it fast! If we're not careful, this could become a chain of murders." He exits the room and opens the door to his office, and sits down on his chair then picks up a pen and starts signing and writing on multiple papers from a large stack to his right.

"I'll have you know that I, am more than competent in finding out who or what murdered this mare!"

"You couldn't even solve the case of the missing griffon! Hell, that random stallion was better at it than you were!"

"S-shut up!"
