A Glimmer Of Possibilty
A Living Relic

The sun rose from the far mountains near the village. One by one, each of the residents woke up from their slumber as the pleasant rays of light gave warmth to all.
Sadly not all shared love for the sun. Starlight Glimmer wasn't a morning person, especially on Sunday mornings.
She groaned as she rose from her bed and massaged her her head "I hate waking up this early" she went to her restroom and robotically undressed before turning the hot water on the shower.
Starlight moaned in pleasure as she warm water cascaded all over her smooth skin, however her pleasure was cut short as she felt a tingling sensation on her horn "why do intrudes enter my cutie mark cave when I'm taking a shower?" She groaned in displeasure as she turned off her shower. Using a fluffy towel to dry herself she grinned at the thought of convincing others to accept the truth of friendship.
Friendship and harmony can only be obtained by being equal. If they thought that by having different talents can lead to understanding, then they're most definitely wrong, just look at Princess Luna and her sister Princess Celestia. If both princesses were at that time truly equal then the Nightmare Moon incident wouldn't have had happened. If Discord, the Lord of Chaos, accepted that by being equal to others then he wouldn't have been petrified by the princesses and maybe, gained some friends. Even Sombra wouldn't have been labeled as a tyrant from the Crystal Kingdom and would've been loved and respected as a kind and fair ruler; instead of a horrifying and merciless tyrant. And according to the news from Canterlot Castle, the so called Chrysalis would have listen to reason and may be accepted by society, not in Canterlot of course, those snot nosed high class idiots that think they're better than everyone.
No, she knew better, she knew that by being equal no bad thoughts nor intentions could be made since all have the same chance to become great.
No more unfair treatment, no more injustice at the hands of the powerful, no more senseless slavery and beatings and the hands of the cruel.
Everyone must see the truth, that the only way to truly way to be harmonious is to be equal. This is Starlight Glimmers' mission on Equus, and she won't stop until all embrace equality in mind, body and spirit.
Starlight smiled as she finished dressing and left her house.
Her white cotton shirt covered nicely her body as her beige jeans shielded her slender legs from the suns heat "Double Diamond, Party Favour" she called in her usual calm and friendly tone as both men appeared with bright smiles on their faces "it seems we have some troublemakers at the Cutie Mark Cave, how about we teach them the true value of harmony"
Both knew it wasn't a question what she told them. It was a calm and relaxed order, but an order none the less "Yes, Starlight" Diamond replied as Starlight walked towards the cave near the mountain.
Fortunately, the trip was uneventful, no bad weather nor bandits that rarely approached her town since there was nothing of interest to steal, let alone pillage. Once they reached the caves mouth they found something that was not only confusing but it also made no sense.
There was nothing in the cave, it was completely empty of intruders and still Starlights magic was telling her that there was someone in the cave "We know you're in there, come out so we can negotiate a mutual agreement" Starlights' voice echoed throughout the cave and still no answer. Just what was going on here?
"Diamond, Favour, go outside to see if there aren't any other intruders" both saluted and obeyed her orders. Growing irritated and frustrated, Starlight used her magic in a scan like ray that would tell her where the intruder or intruders were hiding.
Starlight however, froze in fear and shock at what her scan revealed. There was a lonely figure alright, but it wasn't in the cave per se, it was inside the walls of the cave. Starlight Glimmer gave the most terrified and loud scream her lungs could manage.
Double Diamond and Party Favour heard her scream (as well as the rest of the town) and quickly approached her "Starlight! What happened, what's wrong?!" Party exclaimed as he tried to calm her down with no success.
"Th-there's s-s-someone in the walls" both gasped and entered the cave but found nothing, Starlight was still in shock at what her magic revealed. Her body still didn't want to respond as she shivered in fear.
Fortunately, one by one the residents of the town reached the cave in fear of something happening to either Starlight, Diamond and Favour. They were shocked to see Starlight sweating as she stared at Favour and Diamond as they were attacking the stone with pickaxes.
"Please hurry! I don't know how much time is left before he asphyxiates!" This made the entire villagers made a fuss of activity as they all started chipping the stone in hopes of digging the person out of the wall.
The constant chipping and cracking of stone gave them hope as what looked to be a leg started to appear from the wall "that's it everyone! Keep it up!" Starlight shouted at them as she too started to hit with renewed vigour the stone wall.
It took many hours, but finally the man (at least it looked like a man) was free from the wall, but it seemed it was in vain. Not because he was dead, but because he was petrified.
No one knew what to do with this petrified man, well, almost no one. All the villagers left the cave with down casted faces, the only one who hadn't left the cave was Starlight Glimmer.
She was more than curious regarding the petrified man. Who was he? Why was he petrified? Who petrified him? Countless questions started to swirl around her mind, the only questions that was more important was "how do I unpetrify him?"
Having no option or courage to leave him like that, Starlight focused all her magic into a single spell in hopes to destroy the petrify spell, or curse the man had.
She gritted her teeth as the mental strain of the spell was making her conscious feel like if it was being dragged into a field of thorns, however, the stone on the man's body was starting to turn into sand as the curse was slowly lifting.
The light of her horn was starting to develop sparks as her magic started to falter, but the curse wasn't even half gone on the man's body. Starlight couldn't take much more stress on her magic and mind, slowly and regrettably she stopped her magic from destroying the curse.
Wiping all the sweat from her head and brow Starlight stared at the partially petrified man, the stone on his body still covered his chest, hair and face. She looked at the man with a sad expression as she sighed "I guess I'll take you to my house, I'm not leaving this man in a cave" she tried to grab the man's legs but they were much heavier than they looked.
The moment the legs fell with a crash on the floor something unexpected happened; the man started to violently shake, as if he was now awake. As the thrashing increased in intensity a red aura of. . . something started radiate from him and it was only getting stronger by the second.
A bright red light started to appear and spread from the petrified parts as it engulfed him completely, Starlight closed her eyes as she backed away from him in fear. A she left the cave the intense red light vanished just as quickly as it started to become unbearable to her eyes.
As she cautiously walked back towards the cave she saw that the man was gone. There was no trace of him, not even a magical trace of. . . whatever it was that covered him was left for her to track him down. However, as she turned back she bumped into a man she's never seen before.
He had long, rose coloured red hair that almost reached his hip, green coloured eyes that were almost as green as emeralds. The only things that made him look strange was his muscles on his chest and the fact that his clothes seemed to be made out of the skin of animals.
His chest had muscles that seemed too large for someone his age, he looked directly at Starlight's eyes and spoke at her with a deep and rich tone "Well, hello there miss"
