Ghost adventures: Equestrian Files
The Castle of the Royal Sisters: Part 1
My Name is Zak Bagans, I never believed in ghosts until I came face-to-face with one. So I set out on a quest to capture what I once saw onto video. With no big camera crew following us around, I am joined only by my fellow investigator Aaron Goodwin and returning for this series of investigations, Nick Groff. We are also joined by our equipment technicians Billy Tolley & Jay Wasley. Together the five of us will travel to some of the most highly active paranormal locations where we will send an entire night being locked down from dusk until dawn.
Raw...Extreme...These are our ghost adventures.
Zak Bagans stood in front of the camera, behind him was a dark and imposing forest."You join us here In Equestria", He said. "An ancient land of mystery, legends, magic, and ghosts. In fact it's no surprise that with a recorded history stretching back more than two and a half thousand years there are plenty of ghosts. Behind me is the Everfree Forest; itself a highly active location, but our true target lies within", He began walking into the Forest, with the other two crew members was an Equestrian Royal guard. As they were walking Zak turned to the camera."We are having to be extremely careful right now, the Everfree forest is teaming with wolves and other predators that are known to eat anyone that loses their way, so we have an Equestrian royal guard who is used to this area provide us with an escort until we reach our location", Aaron turned the camera towards the guard, who simply smiled and waved before Aaron once again turned the camera back towards Zak. "Ironically our location tonight is the only site in the forest that is safe, so if something goes wrong or we encounter any malicious spirits or entities, we're trapped with no escape", After walking for some time the guard suddenly signaled for them to stop, before quickly directing them into a large bush."Keep quiet, and keep down" the guard hissed, after a few moments of nothing but the usual sounds of the forest they heard a deep chirping, followed by heavy footsteps and a large, flightless bird of some kind walked passed the bush, it was about 6 foot tall, with a large sharp beak and iridescent blue feathers. It stopped and looked around, searching for something, before letting out another chirp and walking off into the forest. After a few more minutes the guard nodded."It's gone", he said."What the hell was that?", Nick asked his eyes wide open in surprise."Gastornis", the guard said. "They don't usually venture this close to the borders of the forest. Are you sure you want to do this investigation?""We can't turn back now", Zak said and with that, they continued towards their destination. As they walked Zak once again turned to the camera."That is exactly why we have to be careful out here", he said. "With other locations, if the worst came to the worst, we could have always broke our way out, but out here, where we are headed, there is no escape. The stakes have never been this high", The rest of the journey was uneventful and eventually they reached a clearing in the Everfree Forest, in front of them was a deep canyon and on the other side was a plateau, spanning the canyon was a rickety bridge, which lead towards a path heading towards an ancient, crumbling castle.
The castle itself was far from abandoned, however, scaffolding hugged the walls of the towers and signs that work had been taking place were everywhere. The guard bid them farewell before heading back into the forest and the trio of investigators began making their way across the bridge, on the other side stood a tall, dark blue pony with wings and a long horn."I am glad the three of you could make it", she said in a formal tone. "I trust the journey was pleasant enough"."Aside from giant birds", Aaron quipped. Zak turned to the camera and began to speak."This is our location tonight; the castle of the royal sisters, located in the heart of the Everfree Forest. This castle is over 2000 years old and until about 1000 years ago it served as the capital of Equestria, but since then it has been abandoned and left to the elements. Joining us tonight is Princess Luna, she personally contacted us to let us know that workmen in charge of restoring the castle have been experiencing strange occurrences, and we are lucky because the Princess herself was alive during the time this castle was still occupied, and will be acting as our guide", he then turned to Luna. "Princess, what can you tell us about the experiences?""For the past few months ponies have been working to restore the castle to its former glory, but recently they have reported occurrences; they would hear voices, tools and equipment would go missing or be moved and a few ponies have even seen spirits, some ponies have even claimed to be attacked", Princess Luna informed."So disembodied voices, poltergeists, apparitions and even attacks have taken place in the space of just a few months", Zak said. "this place is highly active. The reason for such a high level of activity is believed to be because ghosts feed off the same energy that Ponies can use in the form of magic, and this place is full of this energy", Zak then turned to Luna. "Princess would you mind showing us to some of the more active hotspots in the castle""But of course", she said, nodding, before leading them inside the castle, they came to a large room with banners at one end.
Luna stopped them before turning to Zak."This is the foyer", she said pointing a hoof. “it leads to all parts of the castle, and during balls myself and my sister would have stood in here and greeted the nobility of the time. Since renovations started work ponies have reported hearing voices in this room as if there was a party or a gathering and they have even seen apparitions walking along the balcony at the end of the room and servants in period clothing walking through some of the doorways. One pony, a security guard on the night watch, even heard a scream and turned to the source of the scream to see a mare in period dress running towards him, only to disappear about five feet away...he left and hasn't returned since", Zak's eyes widened at the sudden news of a missing pony."And have you seen anything yourself?", he asked."Seen?..no" she said "but I’ve heard voices and tonight, who knows?", They soon moved onto the next spot, the library, where the technicians; Billy Tolley & Jay Wasley were setting up computers in a small room off to one side with a pedestal in the center, from there they would monitor external cameras set up in the most active areas of the castle."This is the library", Luna said. "And off to one side the room where you technicians are setting up is the personal reading room of myself and my sister""And what sort of occurrences have been going on here?", Zak asked"Well books have moved, people have heard..."*bang*They stopped and looked around in surprise. "Did you guys just hear a bang?", Nick asked. Zak looked down the dimly lit library before calling out."Hello?", no answer came back, Zak began to walk down the library, but no one and nothing out of the ordinary turned up."Dude", Aaron said. "we haven't even started and already s**t's happening, what are we gonna encounter tonight?""Let's just finish setting up and begin the lockdown"
