Chapters Sonic's Origin, The birth of a hero.
"GAAH, what am I to do?" scoffed Sonvil as he paced back and forth in his chambers. "There is no host powerful enough to become my vessel."
Lord Sonvil had been in his castle searching for a suitable host for him to take over for weeks now, his anger and exhaustion reaching a breaking point. Just then one of his servants entered his chambers. The fear he had tried his best to suppress was too easy for the dark being to notice.
"M-My lord?" the pitiful creature was tongue tied due to the terror he felt while being the presence of Lord Sonvil, for he knew it would be his life to pay if he didn't present him with the information he wanted to hear.
"What have you to report?!" barked Sonvil. The power that came from his voice alone was enough to knock the little creature to the ground.
"M-My lord, your spies have just reported in, they still haven't seemed to have found you anypony in Equestria to take control of."
It happened all too fast to let the servant try to run or get away. Sonvils black magic grabbed him by the trough and pinned him against the wall.
"I WANT RESULTS!!!!" roared Sonvil, it was clear that the servant only had a few precious seconds to find a way out of this or else he would be killed.
"M-My l-l-lord..." gasped the servant, the magic chocking him was making it too hard for him to breathe, let alone speak. "Tell me why I shouldn't end your miserable life right here and now?" said Lord Sonvil. He loosened his grip on the servant's throat but didn't let him go. Sonvil enjoyed seeing the suffering of lesser beings, to him it was a reminder of all that he himself went through to gain the power he now holds.
"M-Master" coughed the servant "we didn't find you a body in this world, but there are other worlds that might have a creature that can hold all of your power" wheezed the servant.
Sonvil stood there astounded, "Of course, I can't believe I didn't think of that sooner"
Sonvil looked up at the servant and noticed that a being lesser then himself discovered something that he should have on his own. A wave of disgust hit Sonvil and snapped the servants neck and threw his lifeless body out of his quarters. "I must widen my search to find the ideal body" Sonvil summoned his viewing portal.

Princess Celestia stood in her tower worried, she could feel the dark forces starting to move but to what purpose? She had been without sleep for many nights and her sister Princess Luna quickly became aware of this. Luna then started to keep a closer eye on her sister, she didn't know what good she could do to help her but she wanted to be there just in case.
"Sister really I'm fine" said Celestia.
Luna had finally had enough, and asked her sister to join her in the gardens to speak about this matter.
"Sister you haven't been sleeping for 6 days now, you of all ponies should know that I'd notice this, I control the night and enter other ponies dreams" Luna said. "Please sister just tell me what's troubling you" Celestia stood there, unable to find the words to properly explain her troubles to her sister. "I've been feeling the forces of the darkness move in ways that concern me" explained Celestia, "but on top of that, there are times when I myself cannot see what is truly taking place."
Princess Celestia sat down in the garden, she stared at the ground trying to make sense of all of this. Luna sat down beside her.
"Sister, how come I myself cannot feel the same forces moving as you do?" asked Luna. Celestia looked at her sister in confusion, "You mean to tell me that you haven't felt anything at all?" Celestia asked Luna.
Luna thought to herself, "Maybe it is because I was once Nightmare Moon, and the powers of the darkness are more in tune with me, I am the Princess of the night after all" explained Luna. Celestia nodded in agreement, it was plausible, in fact Luna had been Nightmare Moon for many years when she was banished, so the darkness had plenty of time to bond with her. Luna stood up, "Let me try to focus on this and see if I can feel what your describing" Celestia jumped up "NO DON-" but it was too late. In a blinding flash the darkness that Luna once held as Nightmare Moon started to pour out of her. Her body started morphing again into the shape of the wicked mare. Celestia focused her magic, she had to be quick if she was to save her sister.
She summoned the powers of the suns light and tackled her sister to the ground. The pain that Celestia felt was excruciating, the powers of the darkness burned her body in several places, but she cared little for her pain, her sister needed her and there was no stopping her to save her beloved sister.
Celestia called out to her, "Luna! hear my voice and come back to the light!" Luna winced in pain and agony, trying desperately to suppress her dark power, "Sister!" screamed Luna, she focused all of her energy to stop the transformation, Celestia casted her magic on her to help alleviate the pain. Luna found her light again and started suppressing the flow of dark energy. In a few short second, Luna was back to her original self, gasping for breath she turned to her sister horrified by her injuries.
"Sister , I'm so sorry, I didn't me-" Celestia cut her sister off "It's ok Luna... you're ok."
Luna started casting her healing spells on Celestia, but Celestia stopped her, "Send word to Princess Twilight, Princess Cadence, and Prince Shining Armor, after all that just happened we need to prepare for the coming storm."

Sonic entered the briefing room, it was usually dark in there with a blue hue from the monitor, "Have a seat commander" said a voice.
Sonic turned to see his Commanding Officer seated by the monitor.
Sonic put himself at attention and saluted him, "Sir, Commander Sonic Wind reporting Sir" announced Sonic, "Acknowledged" replied the CO.
Sonic took his usual seat right in front of the room, "Where is everybody else? Sonic thought to himself.
The CO stood from his chair, "Commander I won't sugar coat this, but the higher ups are trying to whittle down our command, now I explained to them that only the best pilots for the navy are going to be found here, but we need to show them proof."
The CO walked closer to Sonic, "you're the best damn pilot that I've ever seen, you're going to have to represent us up in the air and prove that all the pilots here are the best of the best" explained the CO.
Sonic just sat there, trying to sink all of that information in, "Sir surly there are better pilots then me to represent-" Sonic was cut off, "your humbleness is noted son, but I can't think of any other that I would want in the air for this, the truth is you belong up there, and all who know you agree to this. Now we need you, and I expect you up and in the air at 1300 sharp."
Sonic didn't know how to respond, all of his fellow pilots and crewmen were counting on him to pull this off so the higher-ups wouldn't disband the command, but Sonic knew that there was no other way, orders were orders after all.
"Rodger that sir" replied Sonic, he rose from his chair, saluted the CO, and turn to exit the room.
"Stop worrying you moron" said Axel. Your gonna get in your bird, and blow the pants off of the higher ups, you'll see"
Sonic stopped walking, "I'm not so sure buddy" said Sonic, "These people never seemed to do things the easy way, and in the past they've always stayed out of our way, this seems to well planned for them."
"What are you thinking?" asked Axel.
"I'm thinking this is a setup, and that they're trying to close down this base." Answered Sonic
"Your worrying too much." replied Axel.
"And if I'm not?" asked Sonic.
Axel turned to his friend, and looked serious, there were only a few times Axel has done this to Sonic in the past, so he gave his friend his full attention.
"Then don't give them the chance they're looking for" assured Axel.
Sonic smiled, and a new sense of motivation started to rise inside him.
"Right" said Sonic, "Let's get this thing going."
And with that the both of them headed off towards the hangar to get ready for their biggest moment in their military career.

Sonic sat in his F-22 at the end of the runway, he didn't know how he was going to impress the higher-ups, but everything was riding on his abilities as a pilot to save his command.
"Hey bro, you alright?" said Axel through Sonic's head set.
"Just fine." replied Sonic
"Hey, listen Sonic" said Axel, once again Sonic knew that he was serious because he never used his name otherwise. "Just try to think of this as a normal day for you, and that you're just going up to have fun." Sonic smiled to himself, "heh, thanks Axel" replied Sonic, feeling more at ease.
"Now get up there and say hi to your dad for me" shouted Axel.
Sonic focused himself, everything in the world melted away, he fired up the thruster's and screamed down the runway and was airborne. He started to climb in altitude, doing aileron rolls as he did so, All of the drama, stress, worries and fears in Sonic's life just dissolved while he was up in the air, he felt free from everything that could tie him down, it was euphoric to him in every way. Sonic soon broke through the clouds where he saw the horizon, the clear blue sky energized him in a way that words couldn't even begin to describe.
"......hey dad" whispered Sonic, "you doing ok? You know ever since you died this feels like the only way that I could talk to you where you'd hear me." Sonic reached up and put his hand on the inside of the canopy, "So close to the heavens you could literally touch the face of god, wasn't that your old saying?" Sonic banked his bird left, "Well what about your face?" he asked, "Show me what you felt all those years ago when you were up here instead of me."
As Sonic said that he put his bird into a dive bomb, what he was about to attempt was something that he knew would impress not only the higher-ups, but his father as well. Sonic dove a good distance before he leveled out and directed his bird to the canyons.
Up in the tower of the base, Axel watched his friend through his binoculars, he smiled "guess your old man gave you some good advice" he chuckled.
As Sonic was about to enter the canyons he closed his eyes, "Alright dad, WATCH THIS!" Sonic throttled forward and put his bird at the top speed, he banked his bird as close as he could to each side of the canyon walls. He knew he was braking the safety rules his command follow, but he needed to follow that his father had just told him.
"Never let fear overtake you, right dad?" said Sonic
He was coming closer to the exit of the canyon, "It's now or never" he thought, just before he reached the exit, Sonic maneuvered his bird into a barrel roll, he did this so he could fly next to both sides of the canyon before he exited it. "WHOOOHOOO!!!" screamed Axel from the tower, "That's my bro!"
Sonic heard his friend through his headset and smiled to himself, "You see that dad, were you watching?" Sonic turned toward the base and headed back, as his altitude dropped, he could feel the worry he had earlier again. But this time it was for something different.
He knew full well he had broken the rules and flew too close to the canyon walls, but what else could he have done to show his best?
After landing and parking his bird back in the hanger, Sonic saw his buddy walking up to him.
"I'm guessing your old man's doing alright? asked Axel
"Seems that way" replied Sonic
"Commander!" said a all too familiar voice, Sonic turned to see his CO at the other end of the hanger, "In my office, now." The commander turned and left, leaving Sonic and Axel.
"Don't worry buddy" Axel said, "You kicked ass up there"
"I just hope the CO see's it that way as well" replied Sonic as he turned towards the exit of the hanger.

Chapter 6: Endings and Beginnings
SONIC!!! GET YOUR ASS IN HERE NOW!!! Sonic entered the room of the CO followed closely by axel.
"Leave us lieutenant" said the CO waving his hand at axel.
Axel saluted his commander and about faced and left the room. Sonic now felt alone, there was no one to back him up now that Axel had left.
"Commander, you wanna tell me just what the hell you were thinking up there? Do you honestly believe you own that plane? You think you can just do whatever you feel is right up there and we'll all be ok with it?" Sonic stood at attention, "Sir, you requested me to show the higher ups the very best performance I could muster, that wouldn't have been possible if I didn't give it everything I have in me"
"I've heard enough commander" said the CO cutting off Sonic, "because of your actions today the higher ups no longer feel safe with you piloting the aircraft, they say your too reckless and arrogant"
"But sir you know that's not true, I'm all business when I enter that cockpit"
"WELL YOU HAVE A PRETTY POOR WAY OF SHOWING THAT!" screamed the CO as he raised from his chair.
"We breed the best pilots this world has ever seen, but it makes little to no difference if they show no restrain. It's that level of understanding of one's self that seperates the boys from the men, you need to be able to look at yourself and admit that you still have more to learn."
The CO sighed and sat down in his chair, there was an uncomfortable silence that followed, but Sonic already knew what was going to happen next.
" I'm going to have to ask you to hand in your wings and you will be relived of your duty and this command in due time, I'm sorry commander but your too much of a loose cannon to be controlled and the higher ups think that this is for the best. Luckely I was able to pursuade them to let this command stay so that we can one day soon redeem ourselves.
" Sonic was fiding it hard to come up with an appropriate response, "How could-"
The CO cut sonic off again with his hand. "Please commander, this is hard for me as well"
Sonic couldn't take it anymore, "Yeah it sure looks that way." protested Sonic.
"Careful commander." Warned the CO, "I had to pull a lot of strings just to make sure you were able to be discharged honorably.
Sonic gritted his teeth, he reached for the wings pinned to his chest and removed it from his uniform, and he placed them on the CO's desk. The CO wasn't even able to look at Sonic. "Dismissed"
Sonic braced himself, saluted and turned to exit the room. Axel didn't need to ask Sonic anything after he left the room, the look on his friend's face and the blank spot on his chest told him exactly what had just transpired. Axel looked into the CO's office and sighed, as Sonic passed Axel, all his friend could do was follow Sonic and try to find a way to cheer him up.
Back in the realm of the void Lord Sonvil's servant approached his master rather happily.
"You better have some good news for me." said Sonvil in a low toned voice.
After all of his failures Sonvil had just about reached his limit, and to see his lowly servant's smile almost made his sick.
"Yes indeed master" spoke the servant, "Your spies have just reported in, and I think you'll find their findings rather interesting."

Chapter 7: The Other Side of the Coin
"My lady? asked Queen Chrysalis's Guard, "we've brought you to the location of Lord Sonvil"
Queen Chrysalis exited her carriage, "wait her, I won't be long" answered queen chrysalis
"But my lady, we are sworn to protect you at all times!" spoke her guardsmen.
"True, but I fear that you would be able to so much as stand in Lord Sonvil's lair much less protect me", and with that queen chrysalis walked off towards Lord Sonvil's entrance. queen chrysalis seemed aggravated due to how short she was with her guardsmen, something about Lord Sonvil was troubling her, and she was about to confront him. As she entered his palace she started to feel the cold evil that enveloped everywhere within the palace. Even Queen Chrysalis had to admit that she didn't want to stay here any longer than she had to.
Lord Sonvil seemed full of energy today, he was rushing around his chambers like a being possessed.
"Lord Sonvil, I seek an audience with you!" announced queen chrysalis, "My lord, squealed one of Sonvil's servants, " Queen Chrysalis, seeks an audience with you."
Sonvil had no patience with his servant, with his dark magic he reached for his neck and dangled him in midair.
"Do you think me deaf?" snarled Sonvil, "Do you think that I need you to announce every little thing so you could feel some importance in your meaningless existence?"
Sonvil didn't wait for his servant to even try to answer, he simply threw him through the doors leading into the hallway so he could focus on the new he had just received, however, try as he might, he couldn't seem to ignore Queen Chrysalis for long, he knew full well what she came to him for, but he didn't have time to be bothered now.
" Queen Chrysalis, while I do enjoy our regular courting, I simply cannot indulge you at this time" said Sonvil to Chrysalis. "Don't flatter yourself!" spat queen chrysalis, "I'm simply here to make sure your holding your end of the bargain. I promised you the use of my armies, and in return you would help me get revenge on Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, Princess Celestia and above all, that despicable brat Princess Twilight Sparkle! She's become a Princess of all things! Her! The one pony who ruined all of my plans to maintain my empire!"
Lord Sonvil wasn't paying any attention to queen chrysalis' rambling, he was far to engrossed with his new discovery .
"SONVIL, HOW DARE YOU IGNORE M..."
Queen Chrysalis couldn't even finish her sentence, Sonvil had already tackled her into the wall holding her throat with his hoof.
Sonvil slowly raised his head to peer into her eyes, his soulless red eyes could inflict as much terror as he wished.
"You will refer to me as LORD Sonvil!" he said with a roar, "After all that I have sacrificed I will accept nothing less, and if you fail to show me the respect I rightly disserve I will crush your entire kingdom!" Sonvil slowly relapsed Chrysalis and then returned to his business.
"What exactly is it that you're doing?" coughed Chrysalis as she slowly tried to get back up.
"My spies have finally pulled though for me, at long last I have found what I have been looking for" answered Sonvil.
He activated his magic to summon a viewing portal, and within it showed a young man.
"They've finally found you a body to take as your own?" asked Chrysalis
"Indeed they have Chrysalis" answered Sonvil.
Queen Chrysalis couldn't help showing a little annoyance to Sonvil for not addressing her with her full title after he threatened her to.
"How bothersome it must be that you can't set hoof out of your own realm" sneered Chrysalis, "you need the body of another, I guess you really aren't as powerful as you claim to be"
Sonvil ignored her attempts to try and get under his skin. He simply stared at the figure hungrily, like a beast about to pounce on its prey. Chrysalis was getting fed up with Sonvil ignoring her, she was a Queen after all and shouldn't be subjected to this treatment. "Well who is this pony anyway? asked Chrysalis
"That's just it, he's not a pony at all, but a man. A man from the human world." Chuckled Sonvil, "how quaint.
"A man? I have never heard of such a being." announced Chrysalis. "How do you know your plan will even work on this.....boy?" asked Chrysalis
Sonvil laughed, "because he's young, strong, a dreamer, foolish and above all, passionate. All it takes is to focus his passion in the direction I wish"
Chrysalis' interests were starting to show, "does this fool even have a name? she asked.
"His name is.......Sonic Wind" Laughed Sonvil .

From the very pits of the never ending darkness we find out things we never wish to know about ourselves. Who we are, where we're going, and whets inside ourselves. but we never think to imagine that something from the blackness would come to us and make us their own...... A dark figure emerges out of the black fog,
"This empty abyss, will soon be spread throughout Equestria, soon all will know my name......Lord Sonvil!"
"You are right master" a smaller more frail figure says behind Sonvil.
In the flash of an instant Lord Sonvil knocks the pathetic creature down to his knees. "you dare try to voice your opinion to me and tell me what I already know?" screamed Lord Sonvil "m-master I was only trying to...." the little creature was cut off because right then Lord Sonvil had picked him up with an outside black energy and began to slowly choke the creature.
"If I wanted your ridiculous opinion, I would have asked for it, but the fact that you even tried to voice your opinion to me, is so revolting that I could never allow you to live" roared Sonvil
It was over in an instant, the pitiful creatures neck was snapped like a twig from Lord Sonvils magic and then tossed aside like a rag doll.
"These maggots will learn their place soon enough, and I'll be more than happy to teach them all" chuckled Sonvil "but there's still one problem for my coming to that earthly plan, I'll need a new vessel, one that can hold all my power and more....but where will I find such a vessel? None of the beings in Equestria could ever hope to even come close, so then where?"
Sonvil Walked off into the blackness of the Void followed closely by his servant, both disappearing without a trace.

Chapter 1: The Human World
"SONIC?!" yelled Axel. "HEY SONIC WHERE ARE YOU?!"
Axel walked across the hanger of the military base looking for his best friend Sonic Wind. He had been ordered to find him by his Commander because there was a new mission that only Sonic could handle.
"Sonic c'mon man your needed in the main building" Axel called
Axel had been Sonics best friend for years, if anybody could tell you about him or what was going on in Sonic's head it was Axel. For over 10 years they fought and died together in the heat of military life, supporting one another and helping each other grow. They were the perfect team that depended on each other equally.
"Wait a minute" said Axel who turned to the F-22 raptor parked in the hanger. He smiled and unhooked the ladder on the aircraft and climbed up. He looked in through the canopy and chuckled to himself. "Man I knew it, it never changes with the guy, he'd rather sleep in his bird then his own bed" laughed Axel
Inside the aircraft slept Sonic, completely content and undisturbed. Axel pushed the button to open the canopy. The canopy decompressed and slowly lifted. Sonic didn't even seem to be bothered in the slightest from this.
"Hey Sonic wake up man, we've got a new mission" said axel while shaking his buddy. "If you don't wake up, I'll make you wake up" Sonic was still deep in sleep to even notice that someone was shaking him. Axel sighed to himself and climbed down the ladder,
"Alright bro, but I warned you" said Axel with a grin on his face. Axel walked over to the hose that was stationed in the hanger. He unraveled it and walked it over to Sonic's F-22, he then hoisted it up so that it was just over Sonic's face. He walked back over to the handle and cranked it.
"MOTHEROF-" screamed Sonic but was cut off due to the water being sprayed in his face. Axel was on the floor laughing hysterically. "TURN IT OFF" yelled Sonic.
Axel reached over and shut off the hose, he was still laughing to himself but was able to get up and wrap the hose back up. By that time, Sonic had exited his bird and put Axel in a full-nelson.
"You scared the death out of me man" laughed Sonic playingly. "Oh, c'mon, everyone needs a shower after a nap" chuckled Axel.
Sonic let his friend go and walked over to the locker and grabbed a towel to dry himself off.
"So is the old man finally giving us a mission?" asked Sonic. "he's waiting for us now in the briefing room, he sent me to go and find you" explained Axel
"Good, it's been four days since our last and I've been dying to get back up in the air" said Sonic. "I know what you mean, it seems like you were made to be up in the air, being grounded like this is almost a crime." replied Axel.
Sonic wrapped his arm around his friend "You belong up there right alongside me bro" said Sonic, and the both of them proceeded to walk to the main building.
