The Strings of the Heart.
A Symphony of the Night
Load Full StoryWhy do we feel emotion? Do we feel it as scientific act of chemistry? Or is there a higher power guiding our hearts to their fates? What causes emotion? I want us to all look at two emotions of which right now. The emotion of belonging, and the emotion of love. What do you feel about both emotions? And how do you deal with these emotions? I wish to state that feeling in story. A mare in love, with another mare. And with a symphony that bonds.
My name is Lyra Heartstrings, and I am in love. Not a kind of love that you would expect to be in, someone you have known for a long time. A love that you have felt for a while. But a love that came suddenly, almost magically, between me and the one I love. Everypony falls in love at some time.
And some people take it differently. Some show it straight out. Some wait for the perfect moment. Some keep it bottled up longer and longer until it eats at their sanity and drives them insane. I expressed my love through a symphony at night, to the one I loved. Sweetie Drops. Or as I like to call her, Bon Bon.

When I met her.
My harp. It is something that I have treasured for ages. Something that I have enjoyed playing for years. It is part of my love and soul. And is the way my family has showed love for one another for generations. I swore to my mother as a young foal on my mothers death bed that one day I will shall give my love through the harp to my one truest of loves. And that is which I will do. But I wish for you to know how I met my love. It all started with a conversation on a bench.
I was making my daily trip through Ponyville as I normally do. It's good exercise and Celestia knows that I need it. I let myself go after the passing of my parents and the countless Big Mac's Apple Pie that I have loved as a foal. But my health is not what matters. The person I met while sitting on a bench is what matters.
She approached me as I was taking a break from my trip to rest my hooves for a while.
"Um, hi. Is this seat taken?" A mare with a pink and purple mane asked.
I was tempted to say yes as I was not in the mood for company as I was in the middle of my run, but something inside of me just wanted to speak to someone.
"Nah, no one is sitting here, help yourself to the seat." She sat down on the bench and looked at me with a slight smirk.
"You look like you have been training for the Equestrian Olympics, something special coming up?" She said with curiosity in her voice.
I did not want to tell her the real reason why I am running but for some strange reason I trusted this mare. "Nah, I am just trying to lose some weight, too many pies lately."
She giggled slightly and spoke. "It is always good to get some exercise once in a while, I was actually on my way to take a swim with a friend of mine was suppose to meet her here, but I guess she decided not to show up." She looked down at the ground with a sad expression on her face.
"Would not be the first time I have been stood up.." She kicked the dirt in sadness.
I could not imagine why someone would want to miss an opportunity to spend time with this mare. She seems like a sweet person...
"Man, I could only imagine how much that sucks, if you want I can join you, nothing better to do." I said with a slight blush on my face.
"Oh, you do not have to do that, I am used to rejection like this." I could see a slight tear run down her cheek as she said this
