Chapter one: The Shots
Load Full StoryNext ChapterApplejack brushed her bleach blonde mane and collapsed under an apple tree. Four hours, non-stop apple picking can sure get a pony good. She took off her hat and waved it like a fan against her orange face. The apples where bright red, perfect kind for making cider.
Just one little, itsy bitsy bite... Applejack thought. She snatched an apple and quickly gobbled it down. Just then, Apple Bloom and the rest of the Cutie Mark Crusaders came up to her.
"Applejack! Applejack! Tell us the story of how you where born? How did ya see mom and dad?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Now, why are ya'll askin' me?" Applejack sighed, "I just got done apple buckin'. My brain's all cooky."
"Well... If you don't want to help us be midwives..." Scootaloo sighed. They walked away, ears drooping to their faces.
"Now, if ya think yer special talent is gonna be being midwives... I'll tell you," Applejack said. The three fillies' heads popped right up, eager to hear the tale.
"I was born in 1990, Sweet Apple Acre farm at 2:00 am. I weighed six pounds and five ounces, and I was adorable. Happy?" Applejack mumbled.
"Uh... okay then?" Apple Bloom walked off. Applejack waved as the trio went to find Granny Smith.
Applejack knew she lied. But she had to do it. She remembered how she was born real well, her mother smiling and father giving his good chuckle. Being able to laugh at himself, people said, got him to the top.
Applejack smiled and remembered dancing with her brother for her father in his office. She remembered playing horse back rides. She also remembered November 22.

"You can't say Dallas doesn't love you today, sir," Mrs. Conally said to the president. He smiled back. Then *BANG*. Kennedy turned back sharply, putting his hand down. He looked over at his wife.
"Motor car problems?" Jackie suggested.
*BANG*!
The president put his hands up near his neck, his eyes opened wide. He had been shot through the back, the bullet going through and hitting Conally. Conally, an experienced hunter, knew what happened. Pistol. Conally was shot through the chest, the bullet going into his wrist and into his right thigh.
Jackie saw her husband's shocked face.
"Jack, Jack? Can you hear me, Jack?" she frantically asked.
"No, no, no!" Conally yelled, "They're going to kill us all!" Then another,
*BANG*!
The president's head was completely blown off. Brains flew in the air, some landing on his shocked and mortified wife.
"Oh, no!" Jackie exclaimed. She looked behind the car. Some brains where still rolling down the backside. She reached over to grab them, when Agent Hill pushed her back into the seat.

Applejack remembered their nanny sitting them down.
"Daddy won't be here tonight," she said.
"He going on a trip?" John Jr. asked.
"Yes," the nanny said, "but this trip he'll be seeing God."
Caroline's eyes grew wide.
"My daddy is dead, isn't he?" Caroline asked. The nanny nodded solemnly. Caroline burst into a fit of tears.

Then came the tears. The eternal flame. The pill.
