How Sunset Shimmer befriended all (and grew closer to another)

"*yawn*..."

Her turquoise eyes opened little by little to take in the rays of sunlight. On instinct, Sunset Shimmer arched herself backwards in a stretch and then was lazily on her hooves, feebly blinking away sleep. There was a mirror in the spare bedroom given to her, and she saw with a little amusement that  her hair was a mess. It looked like an orange and red afro was sitting on her scalp.

"Tee hee..."

The Pony slowly trotted out of the room, wondering if her treemate was awake and nearby. If she was going to learn about friendship, might as well start it off with a happy good morning. And boy did Shimmer feel good this morning. She felt great! "Twilight? Are you...oh!"

She came to the bottom of the stairs and Spotted Twilight sitting comfortably on the floor, engrossed in a large book. When she heard Sunset, She looked up and smiled at her. "Hmm? Oh! Good morning, Sunset Sleepyhead!"

"Very funny Twilight." Sunset giggled  briefly. "Whatcha readin?"

"I'm finishing up the very last words of The Maze Runner!" Twilight finished the book even as she spoke. And she trotted over to the shelf with the book in her magical grasp. "And let me tell you, this is the best book I've read in a long time! "

When Twilight was about to place the book in the empty spot, Pinkie Pie suddenly appeared behind it with a huge grin. "HIYA TWILIGHT!"

"AAAAAUGH!" Twilight shrieked.

"AAAAAUGH!" Sunset added.

"AAAAAUGH!" Pinkie screamed. "Yourself! What were you two talking about, sillies?"

"...The Maze Runner?" Twilight answered, too afraid to ask how Pinkie got in the bookshelf."I'm about to read about Geneology."

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!" Pinkie tugged herself out of the tiny space, only to fall flat on her face once she did so. She stood in about half a second, smiling again. "Hey Shimmy! What's Geneology?"

"I think it's the study of relations between ponies by blood..." Sunset answered. "Right, Twilight?"

"That is correct!" Twilight answered quickly. Pinkie began to peer over the Alicorn's shoulder as she sooted through the piles of scrolls she had near her.

"Well, I'm just gonna soot through this and....OH MY GOSH!"
