Not everything has to be mane six, face it.
Why?
My friend told me that it is best to make fanfics of the main characters, because not everybody likes the OCs. I can't stay in character, it is hard for me to decide for another character, so it is easy for me to use the ones I made.
I think that is the reason why my fimfics are considered bad, and it is kind of frustrating. I'll give my best shot with OCs.
Now, the story isn't the same as the anime. It is just different, just read and learn.

A Mere Earth Pony
It was a beautiful night, a party was being held in princess Sterling's garden. It is a fancy party which they all celebrate these years of beasts not being found. Why do they celebrate? I wonder the same, the princess isn't really that concerned about her people. Fancy party, held once a year, and with great music, but there is a reason I don’t go to THAT party.
Lyrica and her cousin Diamond Tiara were going to Sterling's Sparkular Party. They are among the wealthy in our society; also, they were quite some pretty mares who were always wearing the trendy fashion. At last, they arrived.
"Excuse us, we're going ahead," said Lyrica to a guard. The guard was undoubtedly the main leader of the military, princess Twilight Sparkle's brother, Shining Armor. He stopped the two mares and scanned them.
"I'm sorry, you can’t go in, earth ponies aren’t invited," said Shining, when Diamond started whimpering about the party being public for everypony, the royal princess herself, walked to the ruckus with a cocky expression.
"I'll deal with these fillies," said Sterling, the leader saluted and left to enjoy the party. "What use do I have of Earth ponies? They can’t defend me from the titans! (The titans were huge creatures, they look like humans, but they are naked and can’t reproduce. They eat ponies for no reason, they kill them and then they later vomit them) only pegasi and unicorns serve me in the military! Earth ponies can’t fly, be quick, or use magic. The only thing they must do is stay on the ground and work on farms, now leave before I get even more annoyed at the sight of the ugly filly," Sterling said coldly. Both mares were deeply offended by this, but Diamond wouldn’t stay still at the dishonoring of her race.
"You can’t just say that you pampered alicorn! We earth ponies do ALL the dirty work! And-" Diamond was clearly in rage, Sterling interrupted her and laser beamed her. Then, she left for her party, the other ponies laughed at the scene. Lyrica was really embarrassed but she wouldn’t stop worrying about her knocked out cousin. This was common for the other races to mistreat the earth ponies, but some others were humble and friends with them.

-I really don’t care about those parties; they shouldn’t be celebrating when at any moment a Titan can come out. - I thought. There hasn’t been a Titan for years; other cities like Ponyville or Canterlot have neither had a sight of them.
I'm walking towards home because, something's going at night, a friend is having over for dinner. My sister and I are carrying our bags home. It was a nice day for her; to me it is always a not-special day for me, holidays, vacations, all the same to me.
"Can we eat the beans as soon as we arrive? Please?" Asked my sister, Sweetie Belle. She is a unicorn, her eyes as green as the color light green, her purple mane really neatly brushed, and pure white coat. I can’t believe everypony thinks we are REAL sisters; I just adopted her as a sis. I had found her two years ago, at a forest clearing, she had a weird case of amnesia which is hard to explain, she doesn’t seem to remember her family, her life, her gender, why was she there, and if she had brushed her teeth the night before. But we aren’t related.
“No," I simply replied, "we are having a guest over and that is the best dinner we could buy with our money." She kept on wailing but stopped when I threatened to put ketchup on her plate for dinner. We are rather poor, she is just a filly, and I’m just a blacksmith (I get paid really low for being an earth pony and a mare), so I’m in charge of getting the money.
My name is Spinel Blade, my mane is yellow and orange, my eyes look like the color of mangoes (that’s what Sweetie says), and my coat is my least favorite color, pink. Something Sweetie and I have in common is that, we still haven’t earned our cutiemarks (which is also another reason I’m paid low).
We arrive home and I set up the table, while Sweetie opens the door for our guest, Lily Blossoms purple eyes and coat, with yellow mane, a Pegasus), my friend (the one and only apart from Sweetie Belle). As soon as she arrives to the dining room we are already seated with beans all over are mouths, while Lily chuckles and goes for her chair.
"I heard that the Sparkular Party was really fun, one day I dream of us three going... Just imagine Spinel with a dress!" She laughs a bit, "someday with the fanciest gala dresses we´ll go and take lots of pictures!" She said.
When I stood up, "Keep on dreaming; besides, it is the worst party you could ever go to."
Both of them looked at me, quite surprised, until they realized, they were allowed to go, but I wasn’t. "I’m just a mere earth pony and nothing, not even magic, will change that."
After that they looked quite sad, "I’m sorry, Spinel, I didn’t mean to say that to bother you."
Later, Sweetie Belle said, "Sorry, Lily, but if my sis is not going, I won’t either."
"That is right; Spinel, I wouldn’t go to the 'worst party ever' without my friend!"
Next day, it was the same routine, except without bags or guests coming over. TODAY was really NOT the day. Sweetie asked why I was more silent than ever. I was sensing something, I answered Lily that it wasn’t because of yesterday's talk, but today I felt- *CRAAASHUUUOOOM* Everypony's head down, something had hit our wall (the walls are the gates that lock the titan´s entrance) Lily searched up in the sky; it was not too far away.
Captain Shining asked for everypony to evacuate from the city, many were running. But I simply stood there. There is no place to escape; the Titans will catch us sooner or later. The girls wanted to leave so I better followed them; Sweetie was not a great runner so I gave her pony ride.
"Look! The elements of harmony are here to save us! They will stop them (by now, the city was infested with the beasts)!" Said Sweetie Belle but I knew better, life's reality. Magic does not exist.
"That is foolish to believe," I said coldly. I finished saying that and the mane six were swept away, three of the flying mares took the other non-flying three and retreated.
Sweetie and Lily fell to despair, we ran with a purpose to arrive to the ship that would evacuate and take us to a city that was closer to the center (our city was located in wall Maria, the middle one was Rose, and the one at the center was Sina which was the safest one, but since we are becoming refugees, we will only get to Rose; besides, more royal or highly ranked ponies lived near the center). The military was fighting with all their might, but still many were dying, because they were taken by surprise, fear, or they were simply weak. Seeing all this and hopeless, Sweetie was crying loud.
We are leaving home and our lives. I was not a bad sister, so I knew she had to let her tears go.
There was no space in the ship, when Lily had a great idea, she grabbed my tail and Sweetie grasped hers, and we flew over to the roof, it was just sailing when other pegasi took their families and helped other earth and unicorn ponies.
"Life is not going to be the same, but it will be it, you are my sis, you my friend. We will have to get jobs and a home, it will be harsh, but we can always keep on going forward and look at what we have," I said. Sweetie hugged me and Lily extended her wings to cover us. I’m not that of a feely filly but I also felt sadness, knowing that the Titans are coming for us, and there is no way to run away from them, and nothing, not even magic, can save us. The government will suppress us and make it harder for us to strive. Ironic, we are another pony's livestock.
