It was a midday in Equestria. Birds were singing, ponies were working hard, everypony was having a fun.
Expect Twilight.
She used her time to learn something new from friendship from her books. She watched every line there were written, every sentence, every word, every letter. After a quick reading of 15 & half books she gasped for air to take a break. There wasn't anything new. She took a glass of water and drank it for good. Then returned to read.
There hasn't come any new information and Twilight was about to give up.
"How in the name of Celestia i can write a letter to her, if i don't have any new thing from the friendship?" Twilight asked from herself. She sat down on her couch and sighed. Her attempts were futile and she wasn't sure, how Celestia would react in this situation. She watched again her books. She searched from high to low and found one book. It was so old, the pages were starting to tear up. Twilight read book with joy. Immediately she found a spell between the pages. It was saying something about being a transportation spell. Twilight started to get really enjoyed and started to test the spell immediately. Her horn started to glow and sparks were coming out of it. She consented and then, a magic ball surrounded her. Her eyes widened, when everything was turning to white. Then she lost her consciousness.
"Hey! Wake up!" said an unknown male voice.
"What if it's going to hurt us? We should be at home right now." another male voice said.
"If it would even go to do that, i will bite it!" said a young female voice.
"Little My! Don't dare to do that!" said an older female voice.
"Uuuuhh...." Twilight moaned. Her horn was in pain and her vision was blurry. She could see white shapes of somepony.
"Look! It's waking up!" male voice said.
Twilight gets up and shook her head. Her vision started to get better and she looked around her. She gasped. In front of her was a white troll with a hippopotamus-like big nose. Next to him was a brown kangaroo-like creature and he looked scared as Twilight. Back of her was another same kind troll, but being yellow and female. She was having a yellow hair and bangle. Twilight started to panic, since she didn't know what to do. She was too scared to use magic and couldn't run anywhere, so she curled on the ball and closed her eyes.
"Don't hurt me, please! I'm sorry if i came to here!" Twilight said, shaking as a little mouse in the corner.
"Hurt you? Why we would do that for you?" The white troll said.
Twilight opened her eyes and stopped shaking.
"So, you aren't mean?" she asked, confused.
"Of course we aren't." he replied. "My name is Moomintroll and here's Snork Maiden, Sniff & Little My." he said, pointing in order to yellow troll, kangaroo-like animal and to a little creature which she didn't notice. She was like Spike, but she was a girl and didn't have scales. Twilight gulped and build some power to introduce herself.
"Uh...My name is Twilight Sparkle and I.... Uuhh....." Twilight stuttered. She couldn't speak for them. She didn't know what to say.
"Are you saying you are lost?" Snork Maiden guessed right.
"Yes, and to tell the truth, i don't know how to get back. My magic doesn't seem to work now." she said, stroking her horn.
"Magic? That's amazing! Imagine what i could do with it!" Sniff said, thinking about gold.
"You chicken head! She isn't a tool, she's a unicorn!" My said, giving a death glare to him.
"Hey! This isn't helping much. I need some place to stay, until i can return to where i was!" Twilight shouted shaking her hooves.
"I got it! You can stay in our Moominhouse!" Moomintroll suggested and everyone else accepted it.
"Just hold on, Moomintroll. How you're sure your parents will let me live in their house?" she asked.
"I'm sure of it. Not everyday we have a unicorn in Moomin Valley." he said and lead the way.
Moomin Valley. That's where she got herself. Twilight sighed and followed him, as others followed her.
"What is that mark you have in your back?" Little My asked, pointing her cutie mark.
"It's a cutie mark. Everypony, who finds his/her special talent, will gain that." she answered.
Twilight felt being in a place, where nopony hasn't ever seen anypony like her although Moomintroll said, everyday they don't see something fancy, it wasn't so hard to accept and tell everything she knows about Equestria.
The road leads across the small bridge over a river to a big blue house. It was having 2 floors and Moomintroll's room, as he said during walking. They come to a door and Moomintroll opened it and ran inside to get his parents to meet Twilight.
"Mom! Dad! We have a guest at the door! Come to see her quickly!" Moomintroll shouted. From the kitchen came two another trolls. One was having a black hat with cane. The other one was yellow as Snork Maiden, but were having an apron and a black handbag. Both of them surprised, when they saw her.
"Moomintroll, where did you find this unicorn?" the male troll asked.
"Near the forest, dad. She was barely conscious, when we found her." Moomintroll replied.
"Excuse me, miss-"
"Twilight Sparkle. That's my name." Twilight said, smiling.
"Sparkle. I am Moominpappa. Pleasure to meet a real unicorn." he said in awe. Twilight blushed.
"My name is Moominmamma. Wait a moment, i shall make coffee and cookies." she said and disappeared to the kitchen.
"I only drink tea, miss!" Twilight shouted back to her.
"I'll have it somewhere here..." she replied.
Sniff, Snork Maiden & Little My pushed Twilight inside to the kitchen and everyone joined with her. She sat at the head of the table and everyone else gathered next to her. Twilight was confused at first, but then they started to ask questions.
"So, how did you end at here?" Moominpappa asked first.
"I tried a spell, which would lead me to a place, where i could learn more about friendship and ended up here." Twilight said.
"I'm sure you can learn something from it, while being with us." Snork Maiden said.
"Thank you, Snork Maiden. I couldn't say better." she thanked her.
"What kind of place are you living?" Sniff asked.
"We call it as Equestria. There are earth ponies, pegasusses and unicorns. There are 2 princesses, Celestia and Luna, who control the sun and moon. Pegasusses keeps the sky clean from clouds and that's how our environment works. I met 5 ponies, who are my friends, but now i don't know how they react, when i'm here." Twilight said changing her mood to sad.
"Don't worry. I'm sure they can wait long enough." Moomintroll comforted her. Twilight then brings a slight smile.
"Tea is ready, Twilight." Moominmamma came with a cup of tea and a basket of cookies. Twilight used her horn to levitate the cup next to her lips and then she took a draught. Everyone around her were silent. Twilight watched them confused.
"Why are you silent? I'm just taking a sip from my drink." Twilight asked.
"We haven't seen something like that." Sniff said.
Twilight shrugged and continued to drink, until she put the cup on the table.
"Moominmamma, Your son said, that i could stay here, until i am back at my world. Is that true?" Twilight asked.
"Why, of course. You can share the bed, which Moomintroll has." she answered. Twilight blushed and so did Moomintroll. She never imagined sleeping with him.
The night came quickly. Snork Maiden went back to her brother's house, Sniff to his own and Little My to her sister's house. Moomintroll and Twilight went to sleep too and found themselves staring each other. Again, Twilight started to blush, more than earlier and Moomintroll did the same.
"Goodnight, Twilight." he said quickly and turned around, so his back was facing towards her. Twilight did the same.
"Goodnight to you too, Moomintroll." Twilight said and fell asleep.
*YAWN*
The morning has begun. Twilight woke up first and land on her hooves. She watched from the window to see the enormous plain, before the forest started to rise, where the mountains started to ascend. The sky was blue, the birds were singing and she knew something would be out there, waiting for her.
Then, she started to think her friends. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy; they were her best friends and she was away from them. But if she would be lucky, they would tell to Princess Celestia from her disappearing and starting to look for her. They would eventually search the library and find the book, which helped her to come here, at the Moomin Valley.
Moomintroll has woken up too. He looked to her left side to see Twilight gone. Then he saw her next to the window.
"Good morning, Twilight." he said. Twilight heard him and smiled to him.
"Good morning to you too." Twilight replied and returned to stare at the horizon.
"What now? Is something wrong? Or is your friends, that you think?" he asked. Unfortunately, it was true. She missed her friends, cause she couldn't just bear it. If they would be here with her, it would be better, but not like this. Twilight sighed and stared Moomintroll. If she couldn't get her friends here, she would then make friends here.
"Can you tell me something from your friends?" she asked, wanting to know, what kind of friends he had.
"Well, Sniff, the brown one, is a very good pal, but he is a little greedy. He's always trying to do some gold, like the time, when he made me to be a fortune-teller and we used the trick to get much gold as possible." he said and Twilight gave a small laugh. She would just think, what he could look like.
"Little My, the small of us, is very aggressive and sometimes speaks rudely, but can be a good friend. Just don't tease her much, she is like a tomboy." Twilight's smile went off hearing that.
"Snork Maiden, is gentle, wise and generally very optimistic. She's actually my girlfriend and admires me." he said and sighed.
"And finally, there's Snufkin, who goes south every winter and returns in the spring. He is my best friend, cause he is so wise and clever. He wears wears an old green clothes and a wide brimmed hat. He lives in a tent near the our house and plays the harmonica." he said. Twilight's mind ran with questions, which she could now ask, but Moominmamma interrupted her.
"Moomintroll! Twilight! Breakfast is ready!" She shouted.
"We'll better get down there." Moomintroll said and Twilight nodded. They descended the stairs, down to the kitchen. Moominmamma had made up some bread, tea and juice. Moomintroll started with bread and drank juice and Twilight took a cup of tea and piece of bread. Moominpappa came to the table with them.
"So, miss Sparkle, did you sleep well?" he asked from the unicorn.
"Well yes, but do me a favour; don't call me as 'miss', Twilight is enough." she replied.
"Alright then. Must add this to my Memoirs." he mumbled.
"Memoirs?" Twilight asked confused.
"My dad is writing every adventure he had in a book, which he calls like that. He is interested to you, cause he thinks you may bring us to an adventure." Moomintroll said and Twilight started to blush so much, that the red cheeks started to appear.
After the breakfast, Moomintroll & Twilight get outside and joined with the friends (Sniff, Little My, Snork Maiden.). They started to play hide-and-seek and Twilight was one to find them from the forest.
"8....9....10! Ready or not, here i come!" Twilight said and started to search them. She giggled herself.
"This is fun! It's been so long i've really played this game." she thought and continued to search them. Going some way further, she saw a big tree with a hole. Twilight was curious and looked inside.
"BLAAARGGH!" yelled Little My, who scared Twilight. She hid herself into the hole and when Twilight looked inside, she jumped in her face. Twilight was shaking a moment, before relaxing and then ordered her to go back to the Moominhouse.
She continued going further and realised, how trees started to cover the sun, leaving the whole forest to the darkness. Twilight decided to turn back, but then noticed something shining near her. She walked next to it and then gasped.
In front of her was a ruby, but it was the same size as her head. It was red and it shined like her candlelight-spell. Twilight decided to take it with her and placed it behind her mane. That way it didn't shine and nopony couldn't see it.
Another night came and everyone was in the kitchen eating supper, Twilight decided to show the ruby to everypony.
"Hey, everypony! Look what i found from the forest." Twilight said and landed the ruby in the middle of the table. Everyone gasped and stared her, but not impressed, more like scared.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"t-t-t-h-h-h-a-a-t-t r-r-r-r-u-b-b-y-y-y-" Sniff stuttered and pointed it.
"Twilight, where did you found that ruby?" Snork Maiden asked, but it was not the same voice, more angrier.
"I-i just found it from the forest? What's so horrible at it?" Twilight was confused.
"It's Groke's ruby!" Little My blasted out.
"Groke?"
"She's a horrible monster." Moominpappa said.
"Horrible? Monster?"
"She is the owner of this ruby. By her words, Thingumy and Bob "stole" it from her, until we gave her my heartshell. The Hobgoblin took the copy of it, when they wished for him to have another King Ruby. So i must think, that The Hobgoblin is here somewhere and had dropped it to the forest." Moomintroll figured. Twilight got more and more things to learn. Thingumy and Bob. Hobgoblin. But the Groke gave her a fear.
"I don't want to see her again. I'm getting out." Sniff said and started to walk to the front door, but the fear stopped him.
"If it's so hard, i can be your assistance." Twilight suggested.
"Let's hurry up! I think she might be there right now." Sniff said.
"You'll be careful, Twilight." Moomintroll warned her.
"Of course. What could went wrong?" Twilight replied.
After a minute walk, they arrived at Sniff's cottage. Sniff thanked her and went inside, while Twilight returned to Moominhouse. She was just at stairs and gave a small laugh.
"What is so scary about that Groke if she doesn't come up?" Twilight asked.
Miss Fortune isn't with her side, when talking about Groke. She appeared as a ghostlike hill-shaped body with two cold staring eyes and a wide row of white shiny teeth. She stared to nowhere and Twilight started to scream as loud as she could and blast off inside, straight to Moominpappa.
"Ouch! Don't always ram to me!" he moaned in pain.
"Groke! It's here!" Twilight screamed and pointed to the door. Everyone went to take a look and there she was; standing on the grass. Moominpappa went first outside with his gun.
"Groke. We would be happier, if you would go home." he said. Groke just groaned and stared into him.
"You're making our quest nervous." he stated.
"You're freezing my roses." Moominmamma said.
"Leave my mom's flowers alone." Moomintroll said. Still, she just groaned.
Twilight just raced with her mind and came with a solution. She grabbed the ruby from the table and rushed outside.
"You must leave! Leave, before i count to ten!" Moominpappa shouted, but Twilight pushed him side and was in front of Groke, holding ruby with her magic. Everyone stared her, as Groke leaned her hands and grabbed it, turning it solid ice. Twilight gasped and then Groke turned and left to the mountains. The only left thing was the footprints on the icy ground.
"She will not come again here." Moominpappa declared and everyone nodded.
"Let's get now to the bed. Tomorrow shall be happier day than this." Moomintroll said and everyone went inside. Before Twilight went inside, she gave a look at back there. She shook the scary moment away from her mind and went inside.
