//-------------------------------------------------------// Quite The Opposite -by Rowan Ex- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Opposite Indeed, Brother. //-------------------------------------------------------// Opposite Indeed, Brother. "Spill it, Quiver. Was being part speeches show nice?" I asked. "You asked that like over 9000 times!" replied Quiver, "and besides, did you see me in the show?" "I'm wondering why you aren't, actually," I mumbled. Oh, hey, cutting the first few speech out, my name's Mistress Mirror. No really, my name is Mistress Mirror. But call me Mirror, or else taste my arrow. A literal arrow, not Quiver's friend Arrow. Anyways, I was selected by my editor in Equestria Daily to go out and create a small documentary for the show "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic." A show I really liked. No, wait, loved. I picked Pinkie Pie as best pony. And now, I get to see her in real time. "Hey Mirror!" called Alex, my friend, "your ride's here!" "I don't know if I should warn you..." I heard faintly from Quiver's mouth. I was confused. "Warn about what?" Quiver looked at me then smirked. "You'll know soon." Long story short, since I hated long conversations, and paragraphs, we waved goodbye, I got into Canterlot, and stepped into Hasbro Studios. There I found TVs, cameras, a few devices which I think were communicators for the human side, where the rest are made, and the Director which was also named Director. He immediately recognized me and offered me tea. That was coincidence, I loved tea too! We sat on a table for two on what seemed to the Dressing Room. "So, I heard Filthy Rich's got your job to document this show?" he asked, "what nice for Equestria Daily. Your fanarts for the show are quite, fascinating." "Thanks," I replied then looked around. "Where is everyone?" "Having... a break. Or maybe just running around," he replied gleefully. What is he hiding!? "Pretty sure the T. S. is practicing for her Olympics." "Olympics? But the show–" I was interrupted by my tea nearly spilling off, and I drank. "Show said Rainbow Dash is the athletic, while Twilight Sparkle is the egghead? Inverse of it, truth to be told," Director finished. "How about Pinkie Pie?" I asked. "Hmm..." He looked up, then stared back at me. "Right behind you." I looked back, only to see a pink mare with Pinkie Pie's cutie mark being removed by powder— "No, way." She looked at me and replied, "Yes, way. I am just janitorial staff that was added." I looked back at Mr. Director. "Seriously!?" "I cannot be surprised why Bread and Butter is the most viewed news channel," he joked, "they interviewed the actors and were in shock to see Rainbow Dash in glasses. Wearing scrunchies." I blinked once. "I must've missed that." After a mind-blowing realization, we three headed to the Golden Oaks Library down in Ponyville. I was surprised it still stood, and so was the crystal castle. Of course, video editing and such. I was more surprised when Twilight Velvet passed by with... Applejack!? "Ponyville's more of a village for actors," Director joked. I groaned. "Not helping." We entered the library, only to spot Rainbow Dash organizing books. In the show, she was more of the athletic kind, so I was sort of confused. "Ah, welcome to Golden Oaks Library, or it's real name, Hollow Oak Library! How can I, Rainbow Dash, help you?" she greeted, smiling. "Nice to see you around, Director. Who is this documentarist?" "I'm Mistress Mirror, Quiver is my brother," I replied. She sniggered while lastly placing the book back to its shelf. "No matter why you looked like him." "We are twins, only I dyed my mane permanently," I reasoned, causing her to dash right near me, inspecting my mane. "I... see." She dashed back to her previous location. "Interview, I guess?" "I was rather–" I heard the library door open only for me to see a changeling, which creeped me out. The changeling then slowly transformed to... Rarity then stared back at me. "And I thought this village is off-limits to fans." "It... is?" I asked, "but my brother, Quiver–" "He's the one that reminds us what to do while being a background character," Rainbow Dash replied, already knew the question. "Arrow asked it too. Quite nice background character from the West Equestrian Sea up-to-date." My mind went "not responding" as I absorbed the information. That one interview had a warning that it might destroy your fan spirit to the show. I guess it was really a twist. First, learning that Pinkie Pie was more or less a janitor-turned actor, then Rainbow Dash is a librarian, Twilight Sparkle is an athletic, Rarity's a changeling, and Applejack loves shopping. My heart seemed to break after this, but no, it just made me froze in place for a minute. Then they started to worry. I guess the friendship lessons also affected their off-screen character as Rarity began to ask if I'm alright. I shook my head as response. "It's just heard to absorb all of this stuff..." "Favorite characters not like the ones on show?" asked Pinkie, who just came from the door as well. "Huh, how did you know?" I asked. "My favorite sixth sense, also known in-screen as Pinkie Sense," she replied happily. Pinkie's being Pinkie on a non-party-like way... I looked at the four mares and I just had to ask. "Where's Twilight?" "West Equestrian Sea, with her husband, Flash Sentry, practicing sports," they said in unison. That's something my head couldn't handle, causing another minute of me slack-jawed and frozen in place. How can I even stop mysel– Glass shattering snapped me back. And so was Twilight's voice. "APPLEJACK! WHY DID YOU BREAK OUR ONLY MIRROR PROP TO MY HOME!?" Not the angry Twilight voice I wanted first to hear from her. We six hurriedly went outside and watched the scene. This is one scene I can't miss, so I began to transcript. "It was in the street!" returned Applejack. "Why would you even break it?" Twilight angrily asked again. "It was an accident! Besides," the orange mare shifted her mane, "can't we afford to get another one?" "LOOK, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR THAT–" Okay, that tone was creepy. "–AND IT WAS ALSO A SUPPOSED GIFT FOR FLASH SENTRY!" I decided not to listen as they continued to fight by sneaking out, only to be spotted by... Quiver. "Seriously?" Quiver asked. Uh oh. "Going away?" "I don't think my head can manage it anymore," I reasoned, only to make him chuckle. "That's my sister. Now come on," he took my hoof and we went for a walk, "let me show you my portal to Canterlot High." "You have one?" "Well," he nodded, "yes, for my own purposes." Me and Quiver stopped walking after we felt seven pairs of eyes staring at me. I looked back. "Forgetting something?" Twilight asked, "rare to see something like that. Sibling love?" Her accent looked like she's a jerk. Then, she shifted tone into a more calming one. "Don't answer that, we heard you might need a few answers." "I am quite annoyed that they called Rarity a marshmallow though," the changeling buzzed. Oh man, now this is some sort of dream come true. "So, you're... an athletic person," I started. "Well, as the mother of fact," Twilight replied, "I won seven gold medals in various sports." "What made you become the pony in the show?" Twilight thought about it for a while then answered, "books about sports, and being a main character sounded stupendous." I looked around the place, Sugarcube Corner, and looked back at Twilight. "Your favorite place?" "Wonderbolt Academy." That was an odd choice. "Because I get to see the Wonderbolts AND see Pegasus sports!" "Episode?" I then asked. "Equestria Games." "Because you love sports?" I guessed. "It's obvious, right?" she asked back. We then laughed in agreement. We had a wonderful hour. Since Rainbow Dash was busy, I decided to volunteer to join being a librarian. It sure was hard work, since a clumsy pony just made the book fell from the shelves and we had to replace then back to its original place. I took this moment to ask her a few questions. "So," I placed one of the books in the shelf, "athletic character." "It was, quite intriguing at first," she replied, placing a few books back. "Me and Twilight switching places on-screen, making me the athletic while she gets the wonderful books. So we made a deal that we should give each other lessons for the show, until the finale." "It was... Michael Bayish?" I joked. "Sure, you could say that," Rainbow Dash replied, "before the show, I was the Cloudsdale Librarian and Weather Pattern Teacher." "Awesome." "Don't try to quote," warned the cyan pegasus, "it helps me not snap to insanity ever since the memes arrived." I blushed a bit. "I didn't!" I replied, flailing my hooves. She responded by a giggle. "Just kidding, you know?" "Yeah..." I glanced around the newly reorganized library. "Well that was fast." "Time suuuure does fly fast!" said somepony outside. It sounded like Pinkie. No, wait, it was Pinkie. Rainbow Dash groaned. "She's on weed again, ugggh," she went outside and I all heard was a lecture. Well, that ewas fast. It's already an hour. I guess placing books counted as fun. Oh, I need a break. I'm not a regular pony, actually. I have this other me in my head, and she only pops up at home. Any chance of seeing an actual alicorn living in the castle might be– Yup. I'm out. I walked around the Mindscape while poking Mirror. "Hello?" I called. "Are you okay?" "Meh," she replied. "My headcanon is broken. Go take over, just continue on what I've been doing." "What exactly are you doing?" I asked back. "Interview for a documentary," Mirror replied then she stared at my eyes. "Go reveal yourself." After a push, I felt myself in my tenses. I'm not in the mindscape anymore, and my mane sure loved going curly when I'm in charge. Might as well get a scrunchie, fix my mane, comb it... Then I looked back at Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. "What?" "Are you... okay?" they both asked. I stopped combing then I faced them. "I guess a secret's no longer a secret unless you kept it more as a secret." A crazy answer to a simple question, which I followed with, "We have MPD. My name's Gleaming Mirror, while the one that interviewed you, was Mistress Mirror." Director then walked past us, then he pulled me into an alley. "Gleaming," he growled, "where is Mirror?" "She's..." I tried to say something. Why can't I say a thing? He then chuckled. "Wow, I guess Quiver was right. Beware of his sister, when the mane goes poof," he pointed to my mane, "her name is Gleaming Mirror. When it goes flat, her name is Mistress Mirror." We went outside, only to see the Mane 6 waiting. He then winked as I took a deep breath, and headed to them. Pinkie and I were silent for the first few minutes. No questions, no talks, until she drank coffee and she spoke. "Whoa, that felt like energetic!" she exclaimed, "better than my box!" "Okay... so, you're the janitorial staff that got roped to it?" I began. "Duh, I said that like few hours ago." I took a bite from an apple I bought and asked, "is the experience good?" "Well truth to be told,"  she claimed, drinking again, "it was addictive." "Anything favorable?" "Well, the Smile song was :yay: //static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/yay.png ing catchy," Pinkie replied, "it's stick stuck in my mind." I blinked twice before asking Mirror and she said the song that got stuck in her head is "A True, True Friend." Well, everypony has its speciality, it seemed. The cutie mark is not lying either, it showed two stripes in the book cover, signifying me and Mirror. "My sense tells me..." she poked my horn, "your questions are out. Where's Mirror?" Uh oh. I quickly went to my mindscape to see Mirror toying around with ideas. I quickly pulled her into the reality. I blinked in frustration as I pulled all the scrunchies away from my mane, letting it flow straight. I looked at Pinkie who was confused. "Multiple Personality Disorder notified by cutie mark." Instead of one, I heard a town of "oh." That sent shivers. I took a peek in my mindscape and slapped Gleamy, then went back. "Now, I still can't believe you aren't what they made us to see," I said, "so I'm dropping all of my questions except for a few." "What is it?" she asked. "Your biography tells that you like parties and muffins?" She nodded. "And your family is actually the same as the ones in the show?" "They were surprised at that time," Pinkie mused.
