Chapters Rainbow dash has to escape from the Gala for young nobles!
Getting ready for the Gala
Rainbow Dash arrived home just as her parents opened the door to her room.
"Rainbow Dash! We have been calling you downstairs for the last five minutes!" said her father.
"sorry dad," Rainbow Dash made her down stairs, to see and try on the new dress her parents had chosen for her.
It was pink. It was girly. It was the most horrible dress Dash had ever seen! She felt like she might puke!
Rainbow Dash tried very hard not to show her feelings. She needed her parents to be in a good mood.
"Thanks mum,"-Rainbow Dash decided to use false flattery-"you look gorgeous today, and dad, your tie really makes you look stunning,"
"Why, thank you Rainbow," said her parents, slightly taken aback, but pleased none the less.
"The thing is"-started Rainbow-"I am supposed to take a friend, and I was wondering if I could take Fluttershy, Please?"
The magic word had a good effect, but Rainbow Dash's parents still weren't shore.
"It's supposed to be for a young stallion,"
"Are you shore you want to invite that orphan filly? I doubt she has anything to wear..." slowly said Rainbows parents.
"YES! I mean, yes thank you. As for a dress, I can lend her one of mine, I mean, I could even give her one," said Rainbow Dash.
"RAINBOW, YOU are NOT to give away one of your expensive dresses! Though I suppose you could lend her one for the evening," the parents sighed, as Rainbow rushed off to tell her friend.
"COME RIGHT BACK, AS SOON AS YOU HAVE TOLD HER!!" shouted Rainbow Daring, (rainbow dash's dad).
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were in the hair dressers.
"I can't believe I can't just wear my hair loose," complained Rainbow Dash.
"Personally, I quite like having my hair done," replied Fluttershy.
" That is because you're to scared to say anything else, and you're to kind," but seeing Fluttershy's face Rainbow added; "But that's not bad thing, it's what makes you you,"
At that moment the hairdresser put the mirror in front of Dash. Rainbow Dash nearly threw up, while Fluttershy thanked the hair dresser for her style.
"Are you all right Rainbow Dash, you look ill, oh I hope your not sickening for something..."
"I'll be fine as soon as he takes the mirror away"
Next they had to go to the dress makers to have their dresses properly fitted.
Fluttershy loved her dress, well Dash's dress, that Fluttershy was wearing. It was a soft blue colour, and suited her to a T. The dress Rainbow dash was wearing on the other hand... It soo did not suit the tomboy Pegasus. It was a deep pink, with lots of lace and ribbons.
Rainbow Dash was trying not to scream at her reflection.
"Girls, it's time to go!" called her mother.

"Are you sure about this Rainbow?" whispered the yellow Pegasus.
"It'll be fine. I just need you to say 'here' during role-call when they call my name, it's easy," Rainbow Dash walked away towards the bathroom. She and Fluttershy were already at the gala, and the only possible escape was the bathroom window. Rainbow Dash quietly made her way to the bathroom.
"Hey Rainbow Dash!" called one of the colts, "You look like such a girl tonight!" .
Rainbow bit her lip, and kept her head down. Usually she would start a fight there and then, but right now she needed to go unnoticed. A fight would guaranty pony's looking for her all evening, either to tell her off for fighting, or to ask how she was doing.
She made her way to the bathroom, noticing a young lavender unicorn reading by the fireplace. She( the lavender unicorn) obviously was not interested in fashion either. But she looked like an egghead.
Rainbow Dash continued on her way. She reached the bathroom. She got into a cubical. Rainbow Dash had to wait before climbing out the window though. She had to make sure it was dark first. She started to think about how lucky she was to have a friend like Fluttershy. If she didn't she would be stuck in the gala.
The way a Fluttershy was.
All alone.
And Fluttershy was to shy to make friends. But she had stayed for Rainbow Dash. And Dash was abandoning her. What did that make her? 20% less cool at least.
Rainbow made up her mind. She would be loyal to her friend. Now and forever.
The Gala hadn't been nearly so bad as usual, thought a happy Pegasus, who was going home. A slightly older colt named cheese sandwich had brightened everything up.
Rainbow sighed contentedly. It was great being loyal, Plus it mad you 20% cooler!

"I WON'T" shouted a blue filly with rainbow mane.
"Now darling, you must look nice to go to the 'Filly's Gala'," her mother coaxed.
"Why can't I just stay at home?" complained the filly, "The other filly's there are soooo booring, all they talk about is hair styles and dresses!"
"That is not a very nice thing to say Rainbow Dash!" said her father. "Please go to your room. You have to go, and that is final,"
"But daaad, I wanted to go flying this afternoon," grumpily replied Rainbow Dash.
"You go flying every afternoon. Now please leave me and your mother in peace so we can choose you a new dress,"
Rainbow Dash slowly made her way up the stairs to her room. She hated the Gala. She hated trying on new dresses her parents bought. She just wished that she could be normal, and not be a noble. Her friend Fluttershy was lucky. Well, unlucky at the same time. In fact Flutter was extremely unfortunate.
Rainbow made her way to her windows, and looked out. She could hear some birds singing.
Suddenly she had an Idea, she climbed out her window, and took off west. She would visit Fluttershy for a short while. Flutter always would listen when Rainbow was cross or upset.
When Rainbow Dash arrived at the orphanage, it was play-time, so all the fillys were in the back garden playing. Almost all the fillys. One sat apart from the others, looking shy and meek. This filly had a pale pink mane, and yellow coat.
Rainbow dash made her way over to her.
"Hey Flutter? whats up?" said Rainbow dash.
The Yellow Pegasus jumped.
"Hey, Rainbow dash," she said dejectedly.
"Whats up Fluttershy? you seem to be down in the dumps. It can't be as bad as my problem,"
"There is going to be a race tomorrow, every pony will be watching. And I can't fly well like you Dash,"
"I wish we could swap, a race would be way cooler than a boring old gala,"
"At least you can invite a friend, "
"I totally forgot!" the rainbow maned filly started to think.
"Got it!" Rainbow dash exclaimed, jumping into the air. Every pony in the garden stopped what they were doing, and looked at her. Fluttershy squeaked and jumped behind a bush.
After Rainbow Dash had told every pony to continue what they were doing, she turned excitedly to Fluttershy.
"I can invite YOU," she whispered.
"Then you can miss the race, and come to the Gala with me. At the gala you can help me escape, so I don't have to die of boredom."
Fluttershy was quiet. In her head, she had a dilemma. On one hand, she could avoid the Race, but on the other, helping Rainbow escape was dangerous.
"OK," she finally said.
"Yes!" replied Rainbow-dash.
She suddenly realized how late it was. She had to get back before her parents realized she was gone.
Rainbow Dash said good bye to Fluttershy, and raced home.
